For $13.95 you can partake of all you can eat themed dinners on Thursday. If you can overlook some service oops, they are students learning on the job, this is a great value. I have been a few times with my latest meal being last evening. It was Italian Favorites night. The meatballs were to die for, the lasagna was perfect, but my favorite was the gnocchi with sage butter. Delicious!! Reservations are normally required and they only open for the Fall semester. They offer a fine dining experience on Tuesdays with two options for main course and a lunch on Wednesday is offered. Menus can be obtained online at https://www.bakersfieldcollege.edu/renegaderoom. Hidden gem in Bakersfield that needs our support as they send students out into the culinary world.

ASU Catering Services – Menu with Prices – Memorial Union, 138 1290 S Normal Ave, Tempe

Sun Devil Dining on Lemon Street has probably been the worst dining experience I have ever had. Day after day, they run out of pretty much everything half way through the day, including probably the most popular item, grilled chicken. They don’t even care to have the food prepared by 11am, which is the time they tell everyone the main food options will be available by. Along with many other students, I am sick and tired of shitty food and horrible service by the workers. Except for Ashley, she has always been happy and smiling. Everything about this dining hall has been awful and if there were a way for me to take my money back, and put that towards something else, preferably food that is edible, I would greatly appreciate it. Hopefully this will reach the eyes of someone in charge so they can change these ways and start making students happy. But until then, Keep up the shitty service.

Storehouse Tea Company – Menu with Prices – 3619 Walton Ave Suite 101, Cleveland

I’m so happy that I finally got to visit Storehouse tea which is a Cleveland business. I first bought their tea at a local store in Columbus. It was an orange blend that lasted a long time. Their teas are only sold online and at differenr stores but on Tuesdays, they open up their warehouse/office for “Tea Tuesdays”. This is NOT a tea shop but it is their office and warehouse. TEAS — The teas are all NON-GMO and ORGANIC. The teas are loose leaf instead of in a tea bag which is better for the environment but they do sell a tea bags (sachets). They have about 50 different flavours of teas to choose from so you will definitely find a tea that is perfect for you. They have black teas, white teas, green teas, and herbal teas. Some of their teas have more caffeine than others. You can buy a box of loose leaf tea for $11 or save $5 and get 3 boxes for $28. I ended up buying 1 box of tea, the Blueberry Hibiscus white tea which has a very light flavour. I can’t wait to try the sample teas that I got (see attached photos). TEA TUESDAYS — You can come here on Tuesdays between 10am – 5pm to sample their teas and buy teas. This isn’t a tea shop so please note that the sitting area is a very small space. You will enter the building where they package their teas and essentially manage their business. The little office space has one red couch and 2 chairs. When I visited on 7 May 2019, I sampled (drank) 2 different teas before choosing which one to buy. Paula and her sister even gave me 4 samples of loose leaf tea to take home and my friend Chelsea got some samples too. SERVICE — Paula (owner) + her sister Jill are amazing. Paula is the owner and Jill helps out one day a week. I had the pleasure of talking to them both when I visited. Overall, I recommend buying Storehouse tea or visiting their business office on Tuesdays. They are involved with their community by hiring 2 Refugee students to help them package their teas. **** – 77 total reviews in 2019 – 286 total Yelp reviews – Reviewed on 12 May 2019

Maggie?s Sunrise Café Menu with Prices 2665 Fashion Plaza, Bakersfield

If you haven’t been this is a must try!!!! Some to the best breakfast and service in Bakersfield. I sent my foodie Pete Titl here when I got when of another breakfast spot. I ordered the chili verde scramble which was absolutely awesome and perfectly cooked. Huge portion of tender fall apart chili verde and perfectly seasoned. We pretty much always sit at the counter so we can watch the action. It doesn’t take long to figure out who Maggie is as she conducts the cooks like awesome concert. She is very attentive to detail of what comes out of the kitchen as well as she wait staff. They are only open for breakfast and lunch and a great friend said their burgers are the bomb.com!!!! One of these days we’ll get their for lunch!!!! Awesome job and awesome write up in the Eye Street!!!!

Penny’s Ice Cream Truck – Menu with Prices – 228 N Prince St, Lancaster

We missed Carmen and David’s when they closed and were excited to see a new shop selling their ice cream (because let’s not forget, Penny’s doesn’t actually make their own stuff). The quality of C&Ds ice cream is great but the lack of professionalism from Penny’s owner was disappointing, to say the least. The truck was parked behind my work with no sign indicating that it was anything other than open and ready to serve. When several employees went to purchase ice cream, the owner who was scooping said he refused to serve them unless they were F&M students. He was there to work an event, in a public parking lot with no signage saying that it was an exclusive event and nothing to show he was unavailable to other guests. If it had been noted somewhere that it was a private event (albeit in a public space), or if the students had been getting the ice cream for free, we would have understood. As it was, the students were being required to pay for their scoops. When I went over he refused to serve me until I informed him that I was an F&M alum. He then lied and said he had not refused service to the other employees but that he simply had to serve students first. There were absolutely no students in sight, when we had initially gone to purchase there were only two students, and in either case he flat out refused instead of asking them to just wait for students first. The owner was sarcastic when he “apologized” and we left. Pennys lost out on at least $40 in sales and 12+ customers from all areas of the city who will be getting their sugar fix elsewhere from now on. Moral of the story: if you need dessert in Lancaster, head over to Splits & Giggles or Dough & Co. at least you’ll have service and a smile.

Toad In The Hole Pub – Menu with Prices – 112 Osborne St, Winnipeg

I realize that this was an afternoon which would be normally very slow time that we got in was probably about 5:15pm on a Sunday. The server was a not available as we walked in so we seated ourselves, normally that would be OK as it’s a pub. Then I went looking for them to get a menu. They were busy playing with the music selection. I asked for a couple of menus, and all she could find was one at the moment. Then later when we win we’re ready to order she took our drink order. But got them mixed up. The Seiter tank was apparently not working well so it came out really really fall me, and she served it to us anyways, and couldn’t replace the exact same drink. She offered a different drink different type of cider, and when she brought that drink it apparently had a quarter in the bottom of the cup , before she put in the ice. And then we got our drinks sort it out. We waited for a little bit. And then we noticed that she’s having some difficulties with the order. So she invited a friend possibly somebody who works there but currently was not working, to come over and sort out our food order. Then when she brought us the food it was still confusing because she gave the orders to the wrong person. There were only 2 of us. Later when we went to pay I showed her the quarter in the bottom of the glass she did apologize and offered us shots as replacement. As we were heading out the door I didn’t have time nor felt like having a shot but no other offer for compensation was made, such as not paying for the drink that had the quarter in it. The other server, the friend, was outside at the time having drinks with her boyfriend or friend. So all in all it was kind of an awkward experience I wouldn’t recommend going there in the afternoon unless your expectations are really low. Then it would be absolutely fine.

Atmosphere Italian Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 935 N Beneva Rd, Sarasota

Food could have been better The atmosphere was quiet when I stopped in for lunch, I was their only customer for the first part of my lunch. It was also nice, the place had clean look, pictures on the wall, red and white checkered tablecloths, Italian music playing softly. This is the location previously occupied by Alma’s Kouzine, and with the same floorplan, it had a familiar feel. We got off to a friendly start and service was pretty good throughout my visit. I had checked out the menu posted in Yelp photos before I arrived and had decided on their Spaghetti and Meatballs. Table bread was provided, followed by a small lettuce and tomato salad. The salad was a nice surprise, it wasn’t mentioned on the menu. It glimmered with oil. When I visited Italy last fall no one ever offered dressing choices, so this seemed very normal for an Italian restaurant. Not sure on the timing, it may have taken a little while to get to the main course, but I had bread and then a salad, and was in no hurry. The food is important, and while the bread and salad were both ok, the spaghetti and meatballs was a bit of a disappointment. The noodles themselves were fine but the sauce was thin and watery. To me the meatballs weren’t very good, I had problems with both the taste and texture. Cheese was added before the dish was dropped off, no cheese on the table for me to improve it. I’m not saying what I ate was terrible, I ate it all and it was a generous amount of food. I just feel it could have been better. Atmosphere now serves breakfast. They open about 9am and offer several omelettes. I have no doubt I’d be writing a more positive review if I had eaten an omelette.

O’Brien’s Bistro – Menu with Prices – 4350 Bayou Blvd, Pensacola

The outward appearance of this restaurant does not accuratly reflect whats inside. I thought this was a regular run of the mill place to get a quick bite after a long flight, but I was totally wrong. This is a fine dining establishment in every way shape and form. I was wearing shorts and a tshirt and felt under dressed. I sat outside since it was such a nice day out. My waitress brought out some water and some biscuits and butter. These.biscuits. I dont know What blend of herbs and spices they put into these things, but these biscuits! They are an experience in themselves, make sure to ask for them when you go. Aside from the biscuits, I had a salad which, you know, a salad is a salad. Dont get me wrong, there was nothing wrong with it, but at the end of the day a salad is still a salad. With such a wide array of options across the three menus (brunch, lunch, dinner) there is something for everyone, so stop by and checknit for yourself.

Woodland’s Vegan Bistro – Menu with Prices – 2928 Georgia Avenue Northwest, Washington

It is really hard to find good vegan/vegetarian options with the food trucks that frequent downtown during the week for lunch. This is why I always try to visit this truck when it is at Metro Center (closest Food Truck hangout to my office), so I hope they continue to frequent there on Tuesdays. All of the food options they offer are excellent. I have tried most of the entrees and a few of the sandwiches and have not been disappointed with anything on I tried. Highly recommend the Mac & Cheese and the Garlic Kale – Yum! Yum! The bread they use for their sandwiches is super soft and delicious and totally worth a “cheat day” for the carbs ? The only drawback with this truck is the wait, but, who cares. It’s yummy in my tummy and worth it. I like the food here so much, that I order meals for more than one day and just keep them in the fridge at work to heat up in the microwave for lunch. If you are vegetarian or vegan – You have to try this food truck for lunch if near your office.

Pete and Sam’s – Menu with Prices – 3886 Park Ave, Memphis

Samâ??s on Main (7 N. Main St.) already has a 5-star rating on TripAdvisor, located on Main Street at Madison in downtown Memphis, TN. Mustapha the father of the family who owns it, is originally from Lebanon (like Danny Thomas) and he took their Mediterranean heritage into a quick $9 to $20 dollar breakfast and lunch place featuring offerings like Gyros and Baklava as well traditional southern favorites like American Burgers, Fried Catfish and Chicken Strips. They also have excellent ice cream that you can eat there or eat as you stroll up or down Main Street.. . All of that is well known! But, what I want you to be aware of is how the fatherâ??s foundation has spawned and inspired his grown son and Entrepreneur Omar Mustapha, 26 and Imaadh Jayah, 28 a talented chef, to expand upon what was built, and the result is excellent and worth noting. What the two have created under the name Barbaroosa Brothers, deserves a 5-star listing all on its own.. . The two young men have combined their talents to expanded into fine dinner dining. When I say fine dining, I mean a menu filled with offerings that rival those found at the finest restaurants in Memphis. If you go there, with the newly expanded (April 25, 2019) evening hours, you can still get the father’s fare. But now they have taken the Mediterranean heritage made up â??mainly of Mediterranean inspired dinner offerings dishes but which also reaches beyond to other fare. For example, that Mediterranean influence includes Spanakarola, Jayahâ??s unique spin on the popular Greek dish of spanakopita.. . However, if you like more standard American fare like shrimp and grits, a steak or salmon, you will find them. But Jayah puts his unique spin on those as well, and the results are amazing!. . And to make the whole thing even better, you donâ??t have to save up to get fine dining quality food as the prices are very reasonable. My wife and I had a starter, full main dinner offerings, and even some of their excellent ice cream for dessert all for under $50. . . There are a few things you need to know:. . First, they donâ??t offer wine or alcohol! . . Second, since all the lunch type offerings are also available, you can have fine dining while your children have their less sophisticated favorites. That will be a great option for my 16 year old Grand Daughter, when my wife and I have her visit during the month of July.. . Third, this isnâ??t a dress-up linen tablecloth type of place. So, you and you group will be totally comfortable in jeans or shorts and a sweatshirt.. . Fourth, if you are traveling and staying at the many hotels only a couple of blocks away you can get food to go. And, Omar said they will even deliver nearby.

Plata’s Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 2702 Shopko Dr, Madison

This review is for the restaurant Plata’s at the Bridges Golf Course, only, subscribing, as I do, to Mark Twain’s view of golf as “a walk, ruined.” I was looking for a good Friday Fish Fry, and Plata’s reeled me in hook, line, and sinker. The menu offers a good selection of fresh lakefish, and I chose the beer battered perch; my 7 pieces were nicely cooked, crispy on the outside and juicy within, and not swimming in a sea of fat when served. I overheard several diners around me praising their bluegill, walleye, cod, and whitefish. Soups are homemade, and an excellent side option, which I wish more restaurants would offer, was perfectly sauteed vegetables, in my case, squash, green beans, onion, red pepper, and mushrooms, a nice change from the ubiquitous variations on the potato. Service, which was friendly, prompt, and attentive, began with delivery of a freshly baked mini-loaf of bread, which was good in its own right, plus a very good creamy cole slaw, and I washed everything down with a very reasonably priced pint of draught beer from the bar. TVs scattered across the room featured both The Golf Channel and an MLB game, and the windows offered relaxing views of the golf course as an alternative. A $2 senior discount applies to entrees after 4 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Taco Tuesdays are offered, Happy Hour runs from 4 until closing, lunch specials are offered daily, and dinner specials are offered Sundays thru Fridays after 4. All told, dinner cost $18.00, inclusive, and I look forward to returning and trying the other fish items soon.

Louie’s California Bistro – Menu with Prices – 1404 De La Vina St, Santa Barbara

Left field choice slightly out of the centre in a residential area attached to the Upham Hotel. Reviews suggested this would be a fine dining experience in a quiet relaxed environment which appealed.Had trouble getting a reservation, on line bookings did not appear to be taken and when contacting the Upham to see if they could assist (restaurant on their property, so you’d think they would be more helpful than they were) it was like talking to a brick wall.I was all for blowing them out and finding somewhere else but my partner wanted to try it so we eventually got our pro-active and helpful hotel to make advance reservations – take note Upham front desk!Restaurant is homespun, up-market Cracker Barrel decor and seemed very popular with locals who all appeared to know each other, including the staff.Menu is not extensive but looked promising. The promise seemed to ring true as my appetizer was truly delicious. Based on that dining delight, I was looking forward to my main. However, this was a disaster. It smelt and tasted wrong on every level and I had a couple of mouthfuls and couldn’t eat anymore, truly awful. I chose wrong but my partner enjoyed their appetizer and main so it was a meal of two stories, good and bad.The waiter was very pleasant as was the service. He offered to bring me something else to eat, I had a bland Caesar’s (should of had another of the delicious appetizers!). We shared a desert and that was very good but it was all just a disappointing dining experience.

International Culinary Institute of Myrtle Beach – Menu with Prices – 920 Crabtree Ln, Myrtle Beach

So many positives to share about Layers Bakery. It’s a student operated bakery located inside the International Culinary Institute at Horry Georgetown Community College, right near Market Common. Google Maps will be helpful as far as navigation. They have lots of free parking in a lot out front and the bakery counter is just down the main hallway entrance, on the left hand side of the hallway. It’s just after the Fowler formal dining room. So, since it’s student run, prices are reasonable and tax is included in every price/purchase. It’s not open on Fridays or weekends, but is generally open 8 am to 4 pm Mon through Thurs. They do have some hallway seating available as well. And they do a limited selection of coffee drinks too. It’s mostly sweet baked goods that are available and they offer both vegan and gluten free options too. Expect to see cookies, moon pies, possibly biscuits, chocolates, lots of pastries and maybe even a mini cheesecake or two. Seems like both students and professors work the counter and they will of course answer any questions you have regarding ingredients. I’d say on a typical morning they’ll have a solid 25 to 35 different things you can potentially buy. I love that everything is made by students and that any profit they earn goes right back into their own culinary program. They don’t really restock during the day, so its first come, first served and items like croissants and pain du chocolat can go quick. Both are very good and reasonably priced at 2 dollars each. They also rotate things in and out based on what they’re working on in class…like one day they might have chocolate eclairs for sale, but the next day they don’t. I’ve yet to see them offer donuts but they do plenty of chocolate items. One of my favorites is the death by brownie at 3 dollars. The chocolate mousse inside is sooo good. Moon pies are enormous and are like 2 to 3 bucks. Cookies like snickerdoodle, oatmeal, chocolate chunk, etc. are 50 cents each and are very good sized for that price. I did include pics of their case from my last visit, but I’m sorry for the poor quality. You can also look them up on Facebook and follow them as they sometimes do special events like a bbq fundraiser on a Saturday or custom order chocolates for Valentines Day. They’ll also announce if they are going to be closed for a certain reason. These students are producing very good quality items at very good prices. They also do homemade breads on Thursdays after 2 PM only. Great stuff. Check them out, but keep it on the down low…I want my favorite items to still be there when I visit late in the day!!
