Axe throwing seems to be the new thing to do nowadays and I was so excited when I saw that AxeVentures was opening up a location near me. My friends and I decided to do a quadruple date. Making reservations online was a breeze. I would definitely recommend getting there early to look for parking (you know how it is in Berkeley) to take advantage of your full time slot. Of course our chronically late friend was running behind schedule, but good thing sessions are 1.5 hours long, so we still had plenty of time to play by the time she arrived. We got to share three lanes among eight people. The staff coached us on the do’s and don’ts and then assisted each of us with our first throws to give us tips on form. Like many others sports and activities, make sure to follow through with your movements. Most of the girls were feeling a bit discouraged when they couldn’t get the ax to stick, but after awhile they started getting a hang of it, so just keep practicing! Five points for bullseye, three points for the middle ring, and one point for the outer ring. Things got more exciting once we started playing one of the games. We played Countdown or at least that’s what I think it was called and it was so much fun, because everyone got pretty competitive. The staff were all friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic. Don’t forget to wear closed toe shoes. Also, make sure to wear layers because you’ll get warm. I got super sweaty and my back was even a bit sore the next day. Can’t wait to go again!

The Blurry Pixel – Menu with Prices – 201 Queen St, Ottawa

Pretty fun place. $15 minimum to stay and play (food or bar tab). I went with a group of friends and played various Mario Party, Mario Kart, Smash Bros., and Mortal Kombat games. The seating at the booths was awkward to say the least, craning my neck to look at the TV. We also played Rock Band 4 but could barely hear ourselves playing over the noise of the other gamers around the bar. The food was average and the drinks were okay. I ordered a lot of drinks and wasn’t even tipsy. Not sure if they’re cheating you out of some alcohol ounces or what? If you want to feel a buzz — stick to beer. That being said, the Mana and Health potion cocktails are quite cool… Now, I didn’t use the washroom, but my friend did and she said it was absolutely disgusting! I am kind of glad that I skipped it. She said that the Ladies Washroom has black mold, that pink scuzzy ring that toilets get when they haven’t been scrubbed in a while, and it was just a general shit show (pun intended). She said that she had to squat to pee so that she didn’t touch the seat. I like the nostalgia of playing old video games. I just wish that they had a better set up for doing so, the booths are fairly uncomfortable…

Rook & Rogue Board Game Pub Menu with Prices 206 W Magnolia St, Bellingham

This is a very unique restaurant/pub in Bellingham. The owner is from Orlando, who thought Bellingham is “the place” to have a Boardgame pub and started it. They have 1300 board games on site. Many of them are free to play, some are $5, and some serious big games are $10 to play. If you are serious game player, you may want to pay $50/year membership to play $5 games, and $100/year membership to play $10 games. Membership comes with a free on entree meal on your birthday and free dessert. They have tables with a game board built in (I heard they paid around $2500 for the table). You can keep playing on the table till the food is ready and when food comes, they’ll install the table top on the table to eat, then after eating, they’ll remove the table top for you to continue playing the game. Some games like “Twilight Imperium” will take 13-17 hours to finish, therefore you may want to reserve the table for 2 days to complete the game. “Dark Tower” electronic board game came out in 1981 was on the $10 shelf. This game is discontinued and not made anymore, but you can still play at this place ? There is one boardgame pub in Seattle, but they say each boardgame pubs has its own characteristics and none of them are the same. Even if you are not into a board game, would be fun to try out once in your life ? ã??ã?¼ã??ã?²ã?¼ã? ã??ã?ã?ã?¼ã?«ã??ã?¬ã?¤ã?²ã?¼ã? ã??å?é???ã???ã?ã??ã?é£?äº?ã??ã?ã?ã?æ???ã?å?§ã????ã?ã??ã?¬ã?¹ã??ã?©ã?³? 1300?é¡?ã???ã?²ã?¼ã? ã?ã?ã??ã?ã??ã?å¤???ç?¡æ????ã?å?ºã?ã??ã??ã?ã?????ã?ã?·ã?ªã?¢ã?¹?ã?²ã?¼ã? ?ã?å??ã??ã????$ï¼?ã??ã?«ã?$10ã??ã?«?ã???ã??ã?ã???ã?ã?ã??é??50ã??ã?«ã??ã??100ã??ã?«??ä¼??ã??æ????ã?5ã??ã?«ã?10ã??ã?«å??ã??æ?¾é¡??ã?ã?æ??ã??ã?? ?ä¼????ã?ã?èª?ç??æ?¥?ç?¡æ???ã?é£?äº?ã??ã?ã?ã??ã?¶ã?¼ã??ã?ç?¡æ?????ç?¹å?¸ã?ã?ã??ã??ã??ã?ã?? åº???ã?ã??ã?¼ã??ã?²ã?¼ã? ç?¨ã??ã?¤ã??ã?³ã?°ã??ã?¼ã??ã?«ã?ã?ã??ã?ã?é£?äº?ã??ã????ã??ã?¼ã??ã?²ã?¼ã? ã???ã??ã?ã?é£?äº?ã??ã?ã??ã?ä¸??ã??ã?¼ã??ã?«?ã??ä¹?ã??ã?é£?äº?ã?ã?é£??çµ?ã??ã?ã??ã?ã??ã?¼ã??ã?«?ã??å?ã??æ????ã?ã?²ã?¼ã? ã??ç¶?ã?ã??ã??ã????ã?ã??ã??ã??ã?¼ã??ã?²ã?¼ã? ã??ã?¤ã??ã?³ã?°ã??ã?¼ã??ã?«?ã?2500ã??ã?«??ã?ã????ã?ã?? ã???å»?ç?¤????ã?ã??ã??ã?¼ã??ã?²ã?¼ã? “Dark Tower” ã??ã?æ??ä½??ã??çµ?äº?ã?ã????13æ??é???ã?ã?ã???è¨?ã?ã???ã?ã?? “Twilight Imperium” ?ã?ã?ã?²ã?¼ã? ã??ã?ã???ã?ã?? ã?·ã?¢ã??ã?«?ã??1?ã??ã?¼ã??ã?²ã?¼ã? ã??ã??ã?ã?ã???ã??ã?ã?ã??ã??ã?ã???ã??ã???å??æ?§ã?ã???é?ã????ã?ã?? ä¸??ã?ä½?é¨?ã??å?¼??ã?é£?äº?ã??ã???ã?ã?ã?¬ã?¹ã??ã?©ã?³?ã?ã??

Reboot Retrocade & Bar – Menu with Prices – 566 Cherry St, Macon

Cool place. Great collection of arcade games from the 80s with the soundtrack playing in the background. And they sell alcohol! We took our kids here on a Saturday afternoon (I think it goes to 21 and over after 6pm). It was not crowded. The games run on arcade tokens and most games are 1 token play. My kids, 7 and 12, had a blast learning how to play “real” video games where you have a joystick, a fire button and not much else. And my wife and SIL got into a Frogger competition. My only complaint…I couldn’t find Tempest.

Four Strings – Menu with Prices – 1730 S 8th St, St. Louis

Bad experience. We had a girls night planned for months and decided this was the best place to start our evening. All the reviews state “good food”, the website offers a menu, photos of “bar food”, and is also recognized in magazines as a place to get good food and service. Well, not so much for us. We were so excited to be going here do to the Goldern Girls theme and it being our annual girls night out, unfortunately it turned out to be not so good. We ordered burgers, and chicken strips with some drinks, chicken strips were raw in the middle. At first the gentleman was very nice and apologetic, then a few of us got our burgers. Raw and frozen still In the middle. The man then tried to make it right again by making us new food. We sat, and sat, and sat, finally the man says I’m so sorry what did you order and did you pay for it?? Really !? Then he proceeds to apologize and tells us that this was really not a restaurant and they didnt particularly sell FOOD! He ended up giving two girls a free shot and gave one girl her food money back. What bothered us the most is that they promote food. And then when the food service was terrible, they claimed they didnt !

Cambridge Pizzeria – Menu with Prices – 263, 4517, Brookline St, Cambridge

Hi! I think this place is awesome if you want classic, straightforward, kids-having-a-sleepover-with-friends or watch-an-80s-movie-with-your-spouse night pizza. The BBQ chicken pizza is totally scrumptious and the onions have a lot of flavor, not just thrown on. Crust was nice and crispy, not too heavy nor too thin. Several middle schoolers in my house tonight were quite clear in their assessment of the plain cheese pizza as “really good” with emphatic head nods. And no big grease pool on top, no need for feeling compelled to pat it down with your napkin or feeling guilty. Salad portion is technically individual, but in our case it was enough for 3-4 teen girls to share as a side to make it a more balanced meal. I think pricing is reasonable for the area. Staff were super friendly both over the phone and in person. A few tables inside if you want to eat in. Just be careful you don’t double-park the neighbor’s driveway if you go pick it up. This place just solved my pizza searching issues – no more need to order overpriced gourmet pizza that has never felt worth the extra money. Have a feeling I’m gonna start craving this BBQ chicken pizza on a regular basis now…!

I/O Arcade Bar – Menu with Prices – 720 Williamson St, Madison

One of my favorite bars in town. They don’t have a lot of games but the variety is there. From a wall of pinball machines, old school single players to new school 10 players. Yes, that’s 10 players – Killer Queen is the game and rare in the nation. You have racing games, fighting and shooting games. Another new one is a 4 player PAC-Man. And the 4 player console of Mario Smash Bris. projected on a screen (free to play, first come first serve). So the variety is definitely there. Also, most games have either cup holders built in or a spot along side of the game for your drinks. It does get pretty “pac” weekend nights but hey, there’s a bar you can get drinks from and tables you can chill at. The barcade has a nice balance between bar and arcade, whether you just want to hang and drink or just want to feed the machines with all your laundry quarters, they serve both purpose. They have an ATM and two change machines. And the staff are super friendly and can help with any game issues or tips on playing the games ?

1-Up Lounge Menu with Prices 1121 McKenzie Ave, Bellingham

This is a place for video game lovers. Super friendly owner. They have 2200 video games, all free to play when you order a glass of alcohol beverage. After the first game, $2 for the next game and so forth (if I remember correctly). If you don’t drink alcohol, $6 (or $5?) per hour to play a game. They have Nintendo, Wii, Sega Genesis, Xbox, Play Station, etc. If you want to play longer, you may want to ask for a 1-day pass. This may be a good place to check out some games you heard about, or try out games before you decide to purchase one. Or simply get together with friends just to have fun playing games. ã??ã??ã?ªã?²ã?¼ã? ã???????ã??ã???ã??å¬?ã?ã?ã?åº???æ?ã??ã?ã?? ã??ã??ã?ªã?²ã?¼ã? ?æ?°?2200ã????å ?ã?Xboxã?ã??ã?¬ã?¤ã?¹ã??ã?¼ã?·ã?§ã?³??ã?è?²ã???ã?²ã?¼ã? ã??å?ã??æ?ã??ã??ã?ã?? ã?¢ã?«ã?³ã?¼ã?«ã??ã?ªã?³ã?¯ã??ã?ªã?¼ã??ã?¼ã?ã???ã?å?ã??ã?²ã?¼ã? ?ç?¡æ??ã????ã?²ã?¼ã? ã?ã???ã?2ã??ã?«ã?ã?£ã?¼ã?¸?ã?ã?ã??ã??ã?¢ã?«ã?³ã?¼ã?«ã?????ã??å??ã?1æ??é??6ã??ã?«ï¼?5ã??ã?«ï¼?ï¼?ã??é?·æ??é??é??ã?ã??å???ã?1æ?¥ã??ã?¹??å?¥ã??è?ã???ã???ã??ã?ã?ã?ã??ã?? å???è?ã?ã?ã??ã??ã?ªã?²ã?¼ã? ã???ã???ã?ã??ã?ã???ã?²ã?¼ã? ã???å?¥ã?ã???ã????ã?ã??????ã?ã?ã??ã?²ã?¼ã? ã???ã???ã??ã??ã???ã?????ã???ã?ã?å?é??ä¸?ç·??ã?²ã?¼ã? ã??ã??é?????ã????ç«??å¯?ã???ã??ã?ã?ã?ã??ã??

Dave & Buster’s – Menu with Prices – 11958U Fair Oaks Mall, Fairfax

Trash has moved to fair oaks mall area! I have always enjoyed Dave & Busters for adult fun & family fun. 1. It was so hot we were sweating! My daughters face was so red. 2. We love to play & the kids love to get things in the shop. They were sparse (VERY sparse) & we spent $200+ on cards and only had a little over 6000 coupons. The games are obviously not reading and adding the coupons/points. 3. In the shop my daughter wanted a game that was 3700 points! Seriously?! It’s a game you can get for $10 at Walmart! 4. When going into the family restroom some single guy with a bunch or gold chains comes out and their was urine all over the toilet and floor! I was NOT letting My daughter use that bathroom! Disgusting! 5. Do they NOT understand how understaffed they are? I mean seriously?! I have been to amazing Dave & Busters with plenty of floor staff to help when there were issues with games. This place is new & there were so many games not in working order. 6. Very slow service. I can tell the wait staff is trying but there are NOT enough people working and greeting people. So service is slow (it’s ok at the bar). GET MORE STAFF & turn on the air this is NOT a hot yoga studio. The wait staff and bartenders were sweating like crazy as we were as well. Again get MORE STAFF & get better organized. Wait staff should not be having to clean floors! (I saw this). 7. The worst part….. we were coming out and it was raining lightly. Some young guys were standing under the partition smoking (mind you not to the side but right at the door we’re you enter & exit). There were beer bottles OUTSIDE on the windowsill! I was cordial & asked the young guys if they could move their smoke to the side as we were loading the children in the car they did not comply and snickered. THIS IS THE REASON I WILL NOT BE RETURNING AND I WILL BE WARNING OTHERS I personally did not feel safe here I kept my purse and children right latched to me. Be warned the ghetto is moving to fair oaks mall! Clean it up!

Goldfingers – Menu with Prices – 3151 Dauphin St Suite a, Mobile

Worst service ever. I’m totally thrown off by the behavior of the staff and management. Anna took my order via the drive through. She made me repeat a simple order one too many times. Clearly active listening skills are lacking. I drive to the window to pick up my food and sat there waiting for about 10 minutes with no follow up from Anna. I look in the drive through window and saw Anna and another girl laughing and playing in each other’s hair. My thought process at this point is…first of all, “where’s my food” , secondly ” you better wash your hands before giving it to me”. There was three of us in the car. My friend in the backseat called the girl over and told her she saw her playing in the other girls hair. Her reply was ” we don’t touch the food.”, she rolls her eyes and walked off. Girl what? That’s irrelevant! You’re at work, maintain a professional standard. We’re about 15 minutes in, waiting on food at this point. My friend in the back seat went inside the restaurant to speak to a manager. His name is Roderick. He defends the girls by saying “they are just teenagers, there not considered grown yet”. And that matters to who? Not me! All I know is that they are considered “at work”, grown or not. They were behind him rolling their necks and making faces like they knew there wouldn’t be any disciplinary action. The manager voids my order and refused to serve me. He said it’s a family owned business. Maybe those two girls were his kids. I don’t know but I’ll never go to this place again.

d4 Tabletop Gaming Café – Menu with Prices – 8228 Oak St, New Orleans

Was in town looking for a place to get a tabletop game on for Father’s day, and was lucky to find a couple of reviews that pointed us here. (Since there was a comic book store just up the street and GW store around the corner, planning seemed like a geeky trifecta.) We took the Streetcar from Canal, and had no problem finding the shop at all. When we stopped in, we were impressed by the selection of games, friendly staff, inexpensive menu, and clean state of the shop. We ended up renting and playing through a couple of different games and enjoying a very inexpensive lunch. After, we picked up a few things to take home with us. While we were there, a D&D group was playing at one of the front table, and a demo ran at another. During our time a couple of other D&D groups came in and took up residence at other tables. This made it seem like it would be a great place to find a pick-up game or join a longer running campaign. They had a nice range of RPG books, minis, CCGs, and dice for sale, in addition to food and drinks. They also had branded dice bags and similar sundries. Our favorite novelty was the gumball machine that was loaded with RPG dice. If you’re into tabletop games or just curious about them, this is a definite must see.

Subway Restaurants Menu with Prices 4520 S Sherwood Forest Blvd Suite 57, Baton Rouge

Went with my son, daughter, and 5 of her softball team members between tournament games. They were extremely slow, and delayed us from getting back to field. They forgot one girl’s chips that came with combo meal, then charged her for them, insisting it wasn’t part of combo meal cuz one of the other girls paid on her ticket. Since some girls paid for others, the guy made it way more confusing than it needed to be. And he was fairly rude. Then he overcharged me on MY ticket. This is one of the worse Subways! Go to another One!
