Few experiences embody Berkeley as much as my first time here yesterday. Let me explain… On an unassuming Tuesday evening, my seasoned Cheeseboard friends took me here after much build up. They were like Cheeseboard’s hype women, and honestly, being with the right people to get you excited about food can make all the difference! The band was fabulous, the weather was great, and I was the right amount of hungry to be eating half a pizza+. Good vibes all around. We found a place to stand-sit outside, then a guy with beachy blond waves rode by on his bike and gave me a poem. It was befuddling to be approached via bicycle, but I have to admit it’s part of Berkeley’s appeal. If you’re reading this mystery verse man, keep the art alive. In food-related commentary, we waited a total of maybe 2 mins to order and get our whole pizza. It was magical. Must have been record time from Oven to Mouth, considering the line is usually down the block, and my friends were pleasantly surprised too. It is well worth a longer wait anyway! Don’t be discouraged like I was when I would try to go other times. I’m a big fan of the one veggie pizza of the day phenomenon since my inability to choose from endless options usually gets the best of me. I also think people have qualms about pizzas being a certain way: no meat, no tomato sauce, why is there a lime wedge, etc, but Cheeseboard offers something new, refreshing, and simple, literally every single day. It doesn’t get more American than this 8) The day’s pizza was an arugula w lemon vinaigrette, mushrooms, red onion, and PARM REG, which really won me over. An employee brought out a fresh bottle of the well-loved Papi Chulo salsa, a green cilantro + Serrano chile sauce that sits next to the counter. My friends recommended to pour it on the pizza slices for an added zing, and it’s an amazing combination (on probably everything). The whole experience was right out of a Berkelandia skit, and it surpassed my expectations which is hard to do with a place that is so hyped up. I’m a believer now.

Country Sweet Chicken & Ribs – Menu with Prices – 1691 Mt Hope Ave, Rochester

Have I been going to country sweet my whole life … Yes. Have I enjoyed it every single time I have ever been … Yes. Do I think their prices are getting expensive … Yes. Will I still keep going and complain every time … Yes. Country Sweet is phenomenal. Those wings are cooked to perfection and country sweet sauce alone is just delicious. No matter where I go in Rochester I order some type of boss sauce, try it and you will see the reasons why. It’s just good on everything. The mind wing dinner with double wedges is one of my go to. People complain about the macaroni salad and bread but I believe that’s because that these people arent seeing these foods as vessels. The white bread covered in sauce is honestly just wonderful and I’m not sure why everything doesnt come with white bread. The macaroni salad is supposed to be tasteless. It’s used to be covered with sauce and chicken and used because everything else is so flavorful. You just cant go wrong.

Hot Spot Bar & Grill – Menu with Prices – 1117 Jordan Ln NW #B, Huntsville

Do not go here. My wife and I and friends went tonight and the bartender was horrible! She was rude and didnâ??t know how to make simple drinks. We asked for a shot of Tequila dressed and chilled. She put warm tequila in a chilled glass and handed me a salt shaker. The told me she didnâ??t have any limes so she put a lemon on it. Then I order a sock and lime shot. She made it a drink then told me they didnâ??t have any lime juice. Then put a lime in it when remember from the shot e

Pizza Nostra – Menu with Prices – 362 Lakeshore Rd W, Mississauga

If you’ve read my reviews, you know I seriously love pizza. My fav pizza place is still Lombardi’s. But I’ve found the best pizza outside of NYC. It trumps all other pizza places. Chains? Go get stuffed! Ma and Pa shops? I’m sorry but, this is seriously the best. And for good reason: the folks here got their training in Jersey! And it is so close to my apartment that my bank account balance is suffering! I discovered my FAVOURITE PIZZA OF ALL TIME HERE. It’s their KIKI pizza! The combination of bitter rapini, creamy ricotta, sweet roasted bell peppers, freshly grated Grana Padano cheese and everything else…it’s such an amazing flavour experience, it’s really hard to put into words. Just get it. Yes, it’s pricey. Yes, it’s worth it. Every single time. Their dough is flavourful and simple. My guess it has flour, olive oil and salt. But I’m sure they won’t share their secrets ? The crust is thin and never overcooked. Their Deluxe is excellent, as is the pizza known as Dayna. Yes, maple syrup on pizza works! Pepperoni is simple and delicious. Margherita is AMAZING. Their house made hot sauce is outstanding, and their salsa verde SHOULD BE SOLD IN MASON JARS. I WOULD PUT THIS SHIT ON EVERYTHING! Herbaceous and tangy, this sauce is out of this world! The hoagies are delicious. The bread is flavourful and dense. It doesn’t taste like you’re eating cotton batting. It’s FLAVOURFUL. The Cheesesteak is excellent and so is the Italian. But be ready to drink loads of fluids after, but that’s only because it’s deli meat, and it’s high in salt. Still…worth it! The Porchetta may be my favourite. It’s hard to choose. And it’s PORKETTA. NOT POR-CH-ETTA. You silly goose! I love their potato wedges as well. Really nice and flavourful seasoning. Andreas, Marco, their mama and Lilly are seriously nice and funny people. They don’t even mind when my bring my rambunctious son in! ? The best pizza outside of NYC is in awesome Port Credit on Lakeshore. GO NOW! GO! NOW!

Milano Pizza – Menu with Prices – 510 S 10th St, San Jose

It’s a real bummer when a place tries so hard to be stereotypical that all the other places nearby make it boring. Cuz it should be common sense that making a pizza that the “average American” likes to eat should automatically get you the most people eating, right? No. Not around SJSU, where so many of the students are already bored from eating the same mix of toppings in grocery store pizza all their life. Chicken pizza: Good! 7 out of ten. More crispy than 7-Eleven pizza. Meat was fresh and salted, but not as flavored as 4th Street pizza. Not as mushy as Pizza My Heart. Hang-out vibe worse than Sammy G’s. $4.99 deal is cheaper than Dominos. Pizza in San Jose means Mexican pizza, Asian pizza, African pizza, Arabic pizza, Persian pizza, Peruvian pizza. Mac & Cheese pizza, cookie dough pizza, pretzel pizza, the choices are endless. So Boo! on the wimpy menu here – Wanna call a place Milano Pizza? Then bring on the stuff that makes Milan famous, like the saffron, basil, the polenta, veal, and heavy butter.

Whiskey Blonde – Menu with Prices – 518 W San Antonio Ave ste e, El Paso

NEVER again will I go to this place for several reasons. It was us a party of 4. Took 13min for a waitress to come to our table when there were only 3 tables wity people there. I assumed there was a manager there and he did not come to table and never was greeted. Something is wrong there and maybe thats why they told us at an event we went downtown to bring our ticket stub to get a free drink but it wasnt even worth it. I still left a tip I guess because I felt bad because she was only waitress. Also a free pizza was offered to us but it was close to 26min when we got pizza served in a box too. The place had music and video on but still that doesnt matter.

Burning Oak Wood Fired Pizza – Menu with Prices – 1035 McRae Way, Roseville

This pizza was unreal. Probably one of the best pizzas around here. Joe knows his stuff when it comes to making a solid amazing pizza. His pizza sauce is the best pizza sauce I have ever had. Plus its wood fired pizza…what’s better than that? You wont be disappointed with the pizza. The only thing that I hated was not being able to try different kinds of pizza. But there’s always next time :). If you have an event and need someone to cater it dont hesitate to call this place to do it…you won’t be disappointed! Thanks Joe!

Delicioso Pizza & Subs Menu with Prices 1032 Hamilton St, Allentown

I absolutely love this pizzeria. Itâ??s such a family environment in there. Everyone is always so friendly, the food is always fresh and delicious, and it is always clean in there. Something I am very big on, as a customer. Iâ??ve never had a salad as simple, yet delicious and so beautifully presented anywhere else, but here. The pizza, no matter the topping, is always the bomb-diggity-dot-com! Literally, anything you order off the menu, will be great. When you have people who genuinely love what they do? It shows through their work, and anyone whose ever eaten at Deliciosoâ??s Pizza & Subs? Can vouch for me when I say that. I truly love this place. Gonna have to stop by soon for a salad, and some garlic bread. Been craving!

Mr K’s Pizza – Menu with Prices – 1504 W Glenoaks Blvd, Glendale

I was driving through the area and was craving some pizza and salad. Because it was after 4pm, I wasn’t able to get single slices of pizza but I’m actually really glad because the small sized pizza was totally worth it (looking forward to have leftovers tomorrow). I ordered the small sized cheese pizza with a small Greek salad. I quickly devoured that salad with generous amounts of delicious Feta cheese and still had some room for pizza. It’s amazing to me how fresh, homemade ingredients can transform a simple margarita pizza into a culinary delight! I also loved seeing how Mr. K had supported the local sports team on one of the restaurant’s walls, which was covered with team photos. It’s truly a neighborhood spot that makes you feel instantly at home. Parking is easy as the restaurant is inside of a plaza. I’ll definitely be back!

Walker’s Pizza & Deli – Menu with Prices – 4939 Washington St, Stockton

I’ve been coming here since I was in high school. I used to order from here for our fundraisers. I always loved their pizza and how inexpensive it is. Freddie and his wife are so nice, they’re the nicest people ever. It’s one of those hole-in-the-wall restaurants. My friends and I always order from here whenever we crave for pizza. It’s a different type of pizza but it’s really good. I’m a teacher in lodi and I still order from here whenever my students have parties. I’ve brought so many people here and everyone of them said walkers is the best pizza they have ever had in stockton.

Kai Asian Street Food – Menu with Prices – 267 Van Buren St, Eugene

It was awesome to see that there was a new Thai place to try and expand my Pad Thai experiences, so I stopped by. As mentioned I like Pad Thai so I that was my go-to. The staff was friendly and the order was out quick and I was on my way home. It was a very short ride home, but when I opened the box the noodles we’re pretty much dry and not enough sauce. Also there was no lime wedge. The portion was good for the $8.95 price, but was dry, lacked flavor, and was just bland. Also the chicken was over cooked and tough. I really was hoping for a great experience, but was left disappointed. I hope they were just having a off day and maybe I will have another chance to try it.

Joe’s Pizza – Menu with Prices – 1858 Archer St # A, The Bronx

This is the BEST pizza ever!!! No joke, the best in the NATION. Like I can’t rave enough about this place. How? Just how can such a simple slice have so much flavor??? This New York pizza is so thin and CRISPY, and the tomato sauce is so TANGY and robust and flavorful. They load such a healthy amount of cheese on top. I live in California but grew up eating Joe’s some 25 years ago. I visit Manhattan annually and STILL make the 40 min-long trek to Joe’s in the Bronx. Do not be fooled by 16 reviews. I have no idea why, maybe yelp is not big in this neighborhood? Listen to all these reviews if you actually read it…there’s a reason why everyone says the same thing. They’ve grown up eating it and literally nothing else can beat it. Consistency and success at its finest.

Sauce Pizza & Wine – Menu with Prices – 7300 N MacArthur Blvd #120, Irving

Came in on a weekend lunch and right as you walk in, you are headed toward the cash register. Up on the ceiling is the menu so we stopped to take a look. So many choices it was a bit overwhelming but I decided on getting pizzas. Me and the bf decided to order a mushroom pizza and the chicken pesto pizza with red sauce. It was easy to order and everyone was very friendly. Soon after ordering we got to grab our drinks and find a seat. Theres lots of seating options from booths to tables to high tops too. We sat in a booth and about 10ish minutes later our food came out. Presentation wise the mushroom pizza looked amazing. It tastes amazing too! The chicken pesto pizza on the other hand was sad. It was good dont get me wrong but the tiny bits of chicken pesto around the pizza did not feel like a chicken pesto pizza. More like a cheese pizza with half a handful of chicken. I felt that it was a great pizza for a child who might want a cheese pizza but the parent wants them to eat some protein so you sprinkle some chicken but that was it. The chicken, from the time amounts I was able to try, was actually pretty good, flavorful and soft. It was like a slowcooked or soft shredded chicken. Taking a bit made you wish there was more of it after the one bit that had the chicken and the rest just being dough and cheese and sauce. The mushroom pizza however had sooooo much mushroom and arugula it was like I could barely see the pizza. It was sooo good because I love mushrooms! Definitely would reccomend that pizza. Lastly the dessert was amazing. Super rich and big and the gelato was very good. We were soo full we couldnt finish the cookie but it was super gooey and rich and warm.
