Tried out this new spot. The staff is very friendly and explained the menu and specials for lunch. I ordered a double cheese burger with no onions, came with fries but no soda, I added on a soda to my order. Got my order and dug in….the meat is not fresh and had that freezer Brown look to it, very dry, tough, and salty. The bottom of the burger bread was totally soggy from the juice of the tomatoes and mayo spread they put on it. I am not exaggerating. French fries are just basic frozen crinckly fries from the grocery store. The soda was not dialed in properly as I got a mountain dew and it taste horrible. All in all I think there is too much on the menu and for that reason they turn to frozen food as most of the items on the menu are frozen fried products. A small place like this may not have the volume of a McDonald’s however they should take advantage of that and cook fresh food vs. Frozen food. If that burger was fresh hand made burger patties it would taste 10 times better. They mentioned to me that they recommend the shrimp fries, well with frozen fries I will not order them. I will try you guys again for breakfast to update my review. The customer has spoken.

Burger Brothers House – Menu with Prices – 4050 W 12th Ave, Hialeah

I think the burger I had was pretty good, but it was really disappointing that the burger didnâ??t come with fries. The tater tots were a tease just donâ??t put them on the plate. Burger and fries is a classic combo, so I donâ??t think itâ??s reasonable to charge for fries. The strawberry shake should not be made with an artificial syrup, it would be better if they used fresh or frozen strawberries. The shake didnâ??t even taste like strawberry. They should invest in advertisements or something to attract people, the only reason I found this place was because I was craving a burger and found them on google maps. The plaza is kind of plain, the restaurant kind of blends in with everything else.

Burger King – Menu with Prices – 8230 Talbert Ave, Huntington Beach

Today I ate two of my daughter’s Burger King fries, which is the first time I’ve eaten BK…. possibly this millennium. Everyone with an IQ in double digits knows that In-n-Out is the true King of Burgers (specifically of the fast-food genre). Well below, in second place, is Jack in the Box. Then McDonalds, for their fries and because there’s always one within discus-throwing distance. Carl’s Jr sucks, and not many Wendy’s around, though they’re decent. Then you’ve got numerous independent joints, which are typically better than the chains, but not always. Five Guys is probably my favoritest burger. But, I digress. (If you’ve read any of my reviews you’ll see it’s a habit. Many say it’s intentional. Myself included.) Anyway, you make a Saturday morning trip to Walmart to buy the slave market produced crap that they sell, and conveniently located just inside the entrance is a Burger King. (Used to be McDonalds. Like it matters.) So, to keep a 5 year old from running uncontrollably rampant, you placate her with some French fries. Yes, I know there’s an In-n-Out just on the other side of the parking lot! First off, I ain’t waiting in THAT line just to buy my daughter fries! Plus, love their burgers, their fries taste like dead cardboard! (I digressed again. Get used to it.) It’s a new place, so still has that new burger smell, and the place doesn’t look dingy and worn, yet. Of course, it’s in a Walmart, so does it really freaking matter? Service is typical of a fast food place. We’ve only ever gotten fries here. We’ll only ever get fries here. If we want a burger, we’re going across the parking lot to the In-n-Out. For their burgers, I’ll wait in that line.

Will’s Grill – Menu with Prices – 4011 Sycamore Dairy Rd #100, Fayetteville

This is a nice little burger spot located across from Carmax on Sycamore Dairy Rd. It’s small but it’s a great place to go for lunch. As soon as I entered I was greeted w/ smiles & warmth by a nice little old lady behind the counter. Apparently her son owns this spot and he works the grill while Mom & Pops help out. I got the Cowboy burger w/ BBQ sauce. It came w/ a huge onion ring in it, cheddar cheese & the softest buns I’ve ever had on a burger. Burger was huge and I had to take half of it home. The flavor is on point because it has a chargrilled taste to it. The fries are addicting…seriously! I don’t know what he puts on them but even McDonalds fries can’t compete. For around $9, you get a huge burger, fries, & a drink. I was a huge 5 Guys fan until I ate here and I have truly found my burger spot. ONE issue…they close way to early! (3pm). Will, stay open at least until rush hour is over. (7pm). I guarantee you would have lines going out the door because no one likes to cook these days. If you want hot, fresh, and delicious food w/ a smile, drop by and see Will. You will walk away full & happy.

La Familia Callejas Market – Menu with Prices – 608 Crouch St, Oceanside

The restaurant/market is low end and has signs of low volume business. The service is familiar and friendly. The food we ordered was average. We came for the restaurant but I looked around the market while we waited. There were some great prices on produce but freshness is questionable. Same with cold items. I would however, take advantage of their bakery, packaged tortillas and tortilla chips. Those all looked yummy. The key is to buy the items that sell frequently so you know you’re getting fresh product. As for the restaurant: My husband ordered carne asada fries, the kids ordered chicken taquitos, and I ordered pastor street tacos. We came on a Sunday afternoon and there was only one worker manning everything: cashier and food prep. That made food service slower than I looked forward to. But since there wasn’t any other customers, things moved along ok. The pastor tacos I ordered were very good and had full flavor. I’m definitely a fan and I will return for that ? The carne asada fries were not special. They came with crinkle cut fries like the kind you buy from the freezer section. The meat was shredded not chopped. The taquitos were well made and had bell peppers rolled into them. That made for a unique presentation and taste. The toppings were all around, not fresh. The lettuce and guacamole were browning. That was a major presentation and taste disappointment. But guacamole is expensive to make and has a short shelf life – this is a sign of low volume business. I would still come again, the street tacos were $1 each and on Tuesdays they are only .69 cents each. That’s so worth it! And the workers are friendly.

The Filling Station – Menu with Prices – 6259 11th St, Rockford

Awful. The owners antagonize front and kitchen staff nightly. The fries are stored in a refrigerator for weeks when they are meant to be stored frozen. When the frost on frozen fries melts and gets pulled into the potato, they turn out pretty terrible. I was unceremoniously fired for trying a fry (trying to make the soggy trash work as best as possible). Some of the kitchen staff really does care, but at the same time sometimes the owners come back and “help” cook turning the kitchen to chaos and food worthless. Owners like to make fries too soon, they cool, and then they refry them when they think they need them. Sometimes they repeat this process multiple times, and fries fried 3+ times are NASTY. Menu prices are outrageous and there are WAY too many items on it.

Liberty Bell – Menu with Prices – 142 N Mountain Ave, Ontario

I can’t remember the last time I was here at Liberty Bell, I must have been in high school sooo more than 20 years ago? I don’t know but it was before yelp was invented I’ll tell you that! So my sister and I met up with our cousins here before going to the movies. You know for ordering a liberty burger combo, a colossal burger, larger zucchini and a medium drink all this was for under $30 I would say that’s not a bad deal. Burgers were good and so were the fries, now they did get mine wrong I dislike pickles (with a passion) thankfully thought I was able to remove them without any after taste. Plenty of pastrami on the burger and it’s actually pretty good. Ok this is where the eyebrows starts lifting lol, larger zucchini was a good shareable amount which is the reason I got them plus I wanted to try them. But I would not order them again some were ok other tasted rather funky, I don’t know I’ll just stick to the fries. I don’t drink soda as much so I usually get an iced tea, now I don’t what they gave me but that thing was pretty foul. We both said we wouldn’t mind returning for the burgers and fries and maybe try other things but not those two other ones lol.

James burger Menu with Prices 1431 James Rd, Bakersfield

We were driving by and saw this newish Burger Place and took a chance. I ordered the Bacon Burger Combo and my husband had the Jalapeño Burger Combo. It was about $13 bucks a piece. But definitely worthy of the price! It was not your average frozen patty…it was a juicy restaurant quality burger. The bun was Brioche…I think? It was soft and delicious. The bacon was crispy and my husband’s jalapeños were fresh and grilled! So 5 stars for this burger joint! Only suggestion is, turn down the air. It was a little warm inside and its a HOT day and a little cluttered…but we will definitely be back!

Anf gyros & grill (ocala) – Menu with Prices – 2400 SW 19th Avenue Rd, Ocala

I have been excited for this place to open for a few months ever since I saw the Gyro sign. I love Greek food. It finally opened last week. It’s not a sit down restaurant where you have a waitress you just order your food and seat yourself. I went on a Saturday night and it was dead. That should have been my first clue. To my surprise there was no Greek food on the menu except for 1 Gyro sandwich. It was mostly wings and fried seafood but I still decided to give it a try since we were there. I asked the cashier if their calamari was fresh or frozen and she immediately responded that it was fresh. I ordered the calamari and fried oysters with tartar sauce. My friend ordered a combo plate with fried fish and shrimp and French fries. When I got my order I knew immediately that the calamari was frozen. It wasn’t good at all. You could clearly tell it was frozen calamari. That’s why I specifically asked the cashier if it was frozen or fresh. The fried oysters had a weird taste also and the tartar sauce was a small peel off container of tartar sauce. I expected for them to at least have homemade tartar sauce if you’re going to sell fried seafood. My friend didn’t care for her food at all ether. Her French fries were so weird because they were a bright yellow color. We both didn’t eat any of our food and just left it on the table. We didn’t even ask for a refund. We were both embarrassed for the place. This place was a huge disappointment for a new business in Ocala. I’m sure that this place won’t be open very long unless they step up the food quality and make sure the staff knows the difference between fresh seafood and frozen. I do not recommend this place at all.

Matty G?s Steakburgers & Spirits – Menu with Prices – 18425 N 51st Ave, Glendale

Matty G’s is a casual family restaurant with a sports theme atmosphere. The menu is mostly burgers. They use grass fed beef and serve the burgers in mostly two 4oz patties that are nicely caramelized. They offer cocktails and beer on tap and milkshakes made with frozen custard. This is a casual restaurant. You get full service at the bar but if you want to sit at a table you order and pay at the bar like any other fast casual restaurant. I went with a non-burger option and got a “birdie” platter combo. I had my choice of fried or grilled and went with grilled. The chicken was caramelized and served on a soft toasted bun. The chicken was ever so slightly over cooked but still good and was a tasty sandwich. For my side I got the onion rings. The onion rings were very hardy and very bread-ee. My husband got the “All Star” burger platter combo. His burger(s) was nicely caramelized. He received a MOUNTAIN of garlic parm fries that came with fry sauce. His only complaint is that he thought each burger patty should have a slice of cheese instead of just one slice of cheese between the patties. I think the food overall was A-OK and an A-ok is three stars. This is a neighborhood restaurant so that means that you aren’t going to travel across town to eat here. You come here if you live nearby and want something casual and not too fancy. The help were especially helpful and friendly.

Black Market Meal Prep – Menu with Prices – 424 S Main St, Orange

This place is ok, I’m not sure what the hype is all about. I appreciate the younger crowd and young business owner, hopefully this review can be useful to them. I paid $15 + tip for a burger meal with a water for a drink. If I had gotten a drink, it would have been almost $20 total for just myself. Pretty expensive for a fast-food restaurant, I can spend less money eating at a full-service restaurant like Island Burgers. I’m not seeing where my money is going, aside from substituting lettuce with raw arugula or raw collards. When I got my burger, I was expecting it to be ridiculously tasty, or at least a large effort should have been made to make everything from scratch. The buns have fancy burn marks on them, but they’re not made fresh in-house. The tomatoes on my burger were pink and tough, not red and juicy. My burger patty came well-done and was somewhat dry, I would have ordered it medium-well if I was given the option. The sweet potato fries must be frozen, I want to say they’re the same as the frozen fries that I buy from Trader Joe’s. This place has some fresh ingredients, and the interior of the restaurant is trendy and clean. But again, I’m not sure where my money went. If this were anywhere in the Midwest, paying that much money would mean I’d be eating one of the best burgers ever.

Flavors Famous Street Food – Menu with Prices – 3231 Brighton Rd, Pittsburgh

This place is not hard to miss. One obvious reason is the bright coloring of the building. That definitely catches the eye when you drive by. The other not so obvious reason is the food. It is outstanding, satisfying, and worth it. I looked up the menu prior to arriving and had my decision in mind to hopefully make for a quick stop. I had gotten the Bacon Burger Combo and my better half decided on the Italian Beef Combo. With a combo it is basically whatever item on the menu you want with fries and a drink. Pepsi products are available. When I placed my order I had a little bit of a wait for it to be ready. There were already several people inside when I arrived. Pro-tip here, call ahead to place your order if you are nearby (delivery is available through GrubHub). Having a little time I putzed around a bit. If you want to dine in, best to come alone, there are only about three seats available at the bar type seating near the windows. Menu and pictures of menu items are all over the one wall, so if you are not sure what to get this may help. Staff are extremely friendly, when I first walked in I was greeted happily by one said employee. Made me feel very welcomed. Food was finally ready and I head home. My Bacon Burger was amazing. Prepared just how I had asked for it. I had made mine a double which, as an afterthought, was maybe just a little too much for me. That burger was huge. Like “could be the whole meal” huge. The burger patty was very flavorful and cooked perfectly. The fries are hand cut and lightly seasoned. My better half said that his Italian Beef was pretty close to the real deal. Being from Chicago originally he was impressed. Definitely a place to frequent for me when I get the chance to. It’s nice to have a variety of places to eat in just about every neighborhood in the city.

High Dive Bar – Menu with Prices – 508 Indianola Rd, Des Moines

I had never heard of ginos until I found it on groupon. They had a good deal of $30 for $50 so I figured why not give it a shot. My wife and I decided to go for lunch. We decided to really give the menu a spin seams it was our first trip and we had $50 to spend. I decided to try the tenderloin with fries. My wife decided to try the burger with fries. We also ordered an order of fried pickle spears. Then we ordered 2 large pizzas to go. The wait staff was very friendly and made sure our drinks were never empty and that we were happy with what we ordered. The sandwich’s and fries came out before the appetizer of the fries pickles which isn’t a big deal to us. The tenderloin is of a good size. It had a good crunchy cracker crust that reminded me of a tenderloin that I had growing up at our restaurant/gas station in the little town of delta where I grew up. It took me back for some reason which was nice. The fries are steak fries which are ok but I would rather a crunchy fry. My wife really enjoyed the burger. It’s a large burger with double patties. It had good flavor and juicy meat. My wife enjoyed her fries as she isn’t one who cares what kind of fries they are as long as they are fries. The fried pickles were hot and fresh. They were pickle spears which is always nice. They had good flavor and the breading was almost like a tempura batter which made them nice and crunchy. The pizzas that we ordered to go we got one with sausage, pepperoni, and banana peppers. The other we got just sausage and banana peppers. After getting home we decided to at least try the pizza. Wow what a treat. The pizza has a good thin crispy crust with a good hearty sauce and a good amount of cheese and toppings. I would for sure come back even if just for a pizza. I would like to try the sausage sandwich and a few other items from the menu. All in all this was a good trip.
