I figured I would finally post a review since my boyfriend and I have been coming here every Saturday sometimes both Sunday and Saturday for about almost 2 years lol so yeah a review has been more than due. First off I want to start off by saying that their customer service is amazing. As soon as we walk in there we are always greeted with a smile and warmth. Since we frequent the restaurant a lot the owners and all the servers there know us now by our names and even have nicknames for us and we love it!! As soon as we walk in they already know what we’re going to order but always double check with us to make sure we do not want to try something new. They definitely take their time to get to know their customers. Now their food ….. I can mainly speak on their Aguachiles. The aguachiles they make there are definitely the freshest most delicious I have ever had. Something with the way they make their sauce that just takes them to a whole other level!! Also for those of you that love Avocado just know you will never get skimped out of it. I definitely recommend them!!

Casa Bariscos Restaurant Menu with Prices 404 N Collins St, Arlington

Seen this place across from AT&T stadium for a few months now and today I decided to give it a try. Wednesday 5pm, the place was open just for me. Waiter was friendly and prompt to bunch chips, salsa and a water. Ordered a shrimp cocktail, and an order of aguachiles as an appetizer. Turns out the aguachiles is only available on Friday and Saturday. The cocktail came out quickly and was a solid 9 on a scale of 1-10. Flavorful, plenty of shrimp & avocado, and they had 3 different hot sauce options o the table to spice it up. I went for the habanero sauce, and it really spiced it up! Did feel odd to be all alone the place, and maybe they could turn on the TVs or some music to make it less obvious that I was the only person in there… I’ll be back with the work family, this place just needs to be given a chance. I will be back!

Cellar + Plate a communal wine house – Menu with Prices – 2916 S Lone Pine Ave, Springfield

Traditional tapas bars keep late hours. But this is the northern foothills of the Ozarks. Springfield, MO. Not traditional. There are 15 customers and the bar is mostly full. These are good signs! One hour until closing. Saturday night. Should still be in the AOK Zone, no? Sadly, no. Barkeep welcomes us, hands us menus (first mistake.) Peruse wine list…check!  Place wine order…check! Scrutinize tapas menu…check! Barkeep returns saying “Sorry, but we’re out of that wine.” The wine list is short, so fall back to alternate selection…check. Barkeep notices us discussing tapas options…”Oh, the kitchen is closed.” Second mistake. I should’ve faked being hit by the pitch and taken a walk, but the coach already had her wine. The base coach’s signal to the next batter is: “Take the walk back to your car.” Why hand customers menus if you know your kitchen is closed? The answer is: never. Kitchen closure requires 1) menus be put away and 2) customers be immediately informed prior to placing any order. But, on Saturday night? A full hour before closing? Really? Would’ve liked to try the food. Cheese was at the bar, so a small order was possible. The wine list was small, so you hope they’ve narrowed selection to some interesting, if not fun, choices. It’s another pitch low and outside. Our pours weren’t bad, but neither my glass nor my date’s flight was worth the effort of staying. Your mileage will likely vary depending upon how much go juice the staff choose to put into their tanks. For my visit, they were few in number and apparently running on empty. Been there, but you make sales by stepping up. And with a closed kitchen, well…there was no plate to step up to (it was somewhere in the cellar.)

I Love U A-Latte – Menu with Prices – 581 W Campbell Rd #125, Richardson

I’ve been going to I Love U A-Latte for nearly 3 years now & finally made a yelp, so here’s the review! This cafe is more like a home to me. The owners & staff are so welcoming & make you feel like you are part of the family. They always know how to put a smile on your face. Maher, the owner, is genuinely the kindest person I know & makes my day every time I walk in. Immediately after walking in, I’m greeted by name & they already know my order so I don’t have to wait like I do at other cafes. They’ve also got the best coffee & food in the area. I personally love their iced lavender lattes & no one makes that better than they do! As for food, their steak & pepper wrap or the smoked salmon sandwich is my go to. For breakfast, I’d recommend their avocado feta toast. I highly recommend going if you haven’t already. It’s a great place to study & it’s also a great place to bring your friends. You will not be disappointed!

Water and Ice Mesa – Menu with Prices – 4355 E University Dr # 115, Mesa

I am appalled at the first time (and last) experience I just had at this place. I find there location on google maps and it says they close at 7pm. I pull in at 645 and run up to the door to double check there hours and posted on the door is 8pm and I can see other customers inside. I grab a cart and take it to my truck to load the (6) 5 gallon jugs of water to be filled. I open the door and walk in and get stopped by a young male employee running up and standing in front of my waving his hands saying “No we are closed” I turn to look and there are four other customers off to the side ordering ice cream and I ask what about them. He tells me “that is it. Those are our last customers and we are closed come back tomorrow” After having that experience I load my 6 jugs back in the truck and leave. That was an absolute JOKE / unprofessional experience I have ever had at a business. Google says they close at 7pm, the front door says 8pm and either way its 645 but then to have an employee run up to you and stop you from coming in is ridiculous. If you have an employee running up to you it should be to give you a hand not to stop you from bring in business. That was so wrong of these people all because they were in a hurry to get out of work on a saturday evening. I WOULD STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AND EVEN DRIVE MILES OUT OF THE WAY TO TAKE MY BUSINESS TO SOMEONE THAT WOULD APPRECIATE IT!!!

La Laguna Mariscos & Sushi – Menu with Prices – 9413 McPherson Avenue, Laredo

If you find yourself in the city of Laredo, Texas and hungry for delicious Mexican style seafood and sushi, you are in the right place. Being a border city to Mexico, Laredo has it’s share of great seafood restaurants and La Laguna Mariscos sure has a spotlight on them. Not too long ago I came with a friend for ceviche de camarones (Shrimp Ceviche) and boy were we in for a surprise. The ceviche was well served combined with spicy prepared cucumber slices and of course tasty. The quality on this dish is great and recommend two people sharing this because of the portion size. Unless you are very hungry then go ahead.. Lol, I on the other hand ordered their Avocado Sushi roll and enjoyed this dish. The roll had a yummy fresh taste to it and had just the right amount of avocado on the roll. This avocado roll came with a side of crab salad, Tampico and fried rice. Just great. Price was decent and overall satisfied with the food. What I liked about the restaurant is that the ambiance is so vibrant and full of life. I believe they have live music on the weekends and let me tell you, salsa music at La Laguna is spicy! ay ay ay! Therefore, I would also like to suggest to the owner that management should be on top of their servers at all times. In fact, management should be on top of their servers and customers. That Saturday I went to dine at La Laguna took almost 26 minutes for us to get our orders in to our server. I understand that businesses can be very busy, specially on a Saturday night, but these small details make a big difference. The restaurant is very neat and clean. Servers are friendly and love that they even suggest good dishes from the menu. Thanks guys!

Tupi Coffee – Menu with Prices – 1610 Arden Way Suite 155, Sacramento

I was pleased to find a new cafe through yelp, and particularly happy to see they have meat pies! I will say it took a little while to find the entrance – it’s inside the Point West Corporate building, and if you enter through the northwest entrance, you have to walk all the way to the back, past the pond and turn left. If you are on the left side of the building (nearer Chuck-E-Cheese), the cafe is right there, along with a small sign. It’s a Brazilian cafe, and I can only assume that it’s authentic because the cashier (owner?) and all 4 other customers were speaking in (I think) Portuguese. The guy who helped me was very friendly and made some suggestions. The effira de frango (chicken, tomato, olives) was very fresh and good, and the price ($4) was very reasonable for the size. I also had the Brazilian avocado shake – I’ve never had an avocado smoothie, so I don’t know how it compares, but this one was smooth and creamy. However, I did notice that the flavor wasn’t always even – occasionally I would get a sweeter sip, then it would disappear. So perhaps not blended completely? I think they are very new, so I’m sure they are still working out kinks. I’d love to try their other pies I recommend stopping in – I love to support small local businesses, and I really hope this one succeeds.

Tim Hortons – Menu with Prices – 1 Pine Grove Dr, Halifax

WASTE OF TIME. Not only is this Tim Hortons on Herring Cove/Pinegrove SLOW, many of it’s employees are incompetent. If you’re unclear on an order because of the intercom system, DOUBLE CHECK at the window. I ordered a large white hot chocolate and three oatmeal raisin cookies. It was dark, late and I didn’t double check everything. (Who does for hot chocolate and a cookie?!) I was handed a bag, and a cup, I gave her $6.50 (I wasn’t given a total so when she thanked me I figured, no biggie, just a tip)

Sushi Factory – Menu with Prices – 8115 NE Vancouver Mall Dr, Vancouver

My review is not reflective of the sushi, only because I eat very basic veggie sushi (avocado and cucumber rolls and an assortment of such). I love shrimp also, so I come in and see a tempura shrimp roll with a little crab inside topped with avocado. Basically what I love. I grabbed the only 3 I could find on the belt and ate almost all of them. I couldn’t find a picture of this roll on the menu am I saved the last bite to show the waitress. Very long story short. I ordered two more. The original plates were orange. I was handed ONE plate. And it was blue. $.75 difference. No big deal. It’s the principal though. He then proceeded to put 3 plates of the same roll on the belt with teriyaki drizzled on top. And before you start to question if the blue plate had a double order like some places do, it didn’t. Same amount of sushi. I grabbed the next 3 plates and ate them because that was the only roll appetizing to me. I’m really just writing this in hopes that the owners acknowledge this and make sure they stay consistent. I may not return because the chef rolled his eyes at me twice and consistency is key. Once when I ordered the sushi, another time when I wanted more spicy mayo. I’m going to take it with a grain of salt and move on but I figured you should be warned, just in case it happens to you.

Pallet Coffee Roasters – Menu with Prices – 323 Semlin Dr, Vancouver

It was a Saturday afternoon. The hubs and I just finished another thing around the area and wanted some coffee. Fellow Yelpsers said this place is good, so here we are! The place is surprisingly not that busy and free street parking is available. It looks like the place has 2 levels (with a sublevel for accommodating 4 tables), but can’t check out the tasting room as it is closed when we were there. The hubs and I ordered the cappuccino and macchiato (double) and they are ready in 5 mins. The menu’s pricing is very reasonable. With coffees from $2+ to $4ish. We didn’t get food, but the kitchen is full open viewing and it looks like it is made to order. Pricing for food doesn’t appear to expensive-$8-10ish. The cappuccino ($3.6): darker roast with citrus ending notes. The creaminess came from the milk with balanced it off quite well. The macchiato ($3.6): I was asked if I want a double or a macchiato with espresso on the side. Being not sure what I want, I went with the double. The double came with a small glass of Pierre mineral water. The macchiato has more caramel notes and it is pretty decent sized. The mineral water helped with clearing the palate. Overall: we like the atmosphere and it is nice quiet location tucked away from the main corridor (Hastings).

Farm Fresh Halal Market – Menu with Prices – 226 N Negley Ave, Pittsburgh

I stopped by here earlier today by myself for breakfast. Farm Fresh Deli is located in the center core at PIT and I must have walked by it a hundred or so times before today. It’s a free standing “kiosk” so there’s not much to it. You can walk up, place your order and walk down the line subway style before paying at the end. On this morning what caught my eye was the avocado and egg white panini. It consisted of avocado, egg whites, American cheese and tomatoes (I chose to forgo these) all on a toasted wheat bread for 5.99. After ordering my sandwich I watched it get made and they put on a decent amount of egg white and cheese before being stingy with the avocado. I am talking 3 tiny slices for the whole sandwich which maybe made it 1/8 of an avocado. If you are naming a sandwich after it, you probably should add a bit more. In any case, I paid and went to wait. It took a little longer than 5 minutes which seemed like quite a bit for a faster airport place but I was happy about it whenever my bread ended up being well toasted and the cheese nice and melted. Other than that the sandwich tasted decent enough although i really could have used avocado. The bottom line for me is that I might stop by here again in the future. While my sandwich was well executed and tasty, I really wish they would have added more of the namesake ingredient.

Little India – Menu with Prices – 402 Cherry St, Macon

I have waited to complete 3 visits before writing this review…. food is good compared to other Indian restaurants in the area. If you love buffets then this is a wonderful place to go. My main problem with this place is service! You will wait a good 10-15 minutes just to get a menu (if you don’t do the buffet), then another 10-15 to get drinks and to place your order. My husband and I were meeting another couple for lunch. They had a appointment an hour and half from the time I placed their order (which was before they arrived from WR) 10 minutes after the second couple arrived we inquired about the food and asked how much longer it would be. I was told that the “cook is to busy with buffet food” and our food would be out shortly. So I asked to please check and see how much longer it was going to take. He preceded to walk away and clean tables. This type of behavior is not acceptable in the US, it maybe acceptable in India but not here. I’m very disappointed in this type of service since I love good Indian food. I would not have written this except this type of service is normal for this establishment. I also noticed other customers getting up and getting glasses and menus for themselves because servers don’t do their job.

Ganache Patisserie – Menu with Prices – 13230 Pawnee Dr suite #114, Oklahoma City

One year ago, I was raving about Ganache Patisserie, like a freakin’ lunatic. It was a super long dissertation-esque review going on about why OKC needed more businesses like Ganache. Now, I’m going to walk back some of those over the top statements, but in a more even-tempered, and (hopefully) significantly shorter review… [] Why the Downgrade? [] 1. The double-baked croissants we’ve had have been unpleasant, especially the raspberry cream cheese croissant (which was lacking in all of the named elements). Also, the almond croissant I’ve had was less double-baked and more over-baked, resulting in the ends being crispy (read: burnt). I normally love almond croissants, and Ganache’s almond croissant managed to reduce some of that love. With Ganache’s croissants, it’s like we’ve gotten all the flakiness of a croissant, but none of the pillowiness (it’s not a word, I’m aware). And I get that “double-baked” may be a thing that some people enjoy, but I generally like my croissants to not disintegrate under the slightest pressure. Much like my childhood hopes and dreams. 2. There’s been a problem with consistency occasionally. I’ve gotten some tarts where the crust is super thick or (as previously mentioned) over-baked. Additionally, some of the individual dessert portions vary in size. Some are slightly bigger. Some are slightly smaller. Also, the mousses appear to have been re-designed from earlier versions, and at least to my eyes, the redesigns appear to be smaller. 3. They’ve increased their prices as well. Sure, those increases are small (~5%) and the owners are certainly welcome to do whatever they want, but considering that some of the items were already starting at $7 apiece (this time last year), when you start ratcheting up from the already high(er) prices, it’s noticeable even if it’s small (for me anyway, but I’m an Indian). I’m sure other people’s threshold for discomfort when buying desserts is probably greater. Especially if they’re the type to hang out in Chisholm Creek all the time. Having said that, OKC still needs Ganache in that Oklahomans should know that there are (much better) things than pies, sno-cones, and ice cream as far as desserts are concerned. I had a quiche recently at Ganache that was quite good. There’s also a seasonal pumpkin tart that’s fantastic, and that prosciutto sandwich is still one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. There are still things to love. It’s just not the telenovela, head-over-heels, rose-colored-glasses kind of love anymore. Okay, so this still ended up being a dissertation-length review…
