Quick, strong coffee drinks, full option of refrigerated beverages, and the nicest most helpful staff of any coffee shop ever!

Gastronome European Grocery and Deli – Menu with Prices – 2707 NE 114th Ave, Vancouver

Great find! If you are looking for some European foodstuffs, this is a good place to check out. Not a huge store but I’d say medium-sized, well organized and clean. The lady working there was so very friendly and helpful to the customers coming through. They had a good variety of both canned & dry goods, snacks, candy, teas/beverages along with a small refrigerated section with some cold/dairy items. They also have a deli counter with meats/sausages sold by the pound and freshly baked breads, beautiful cakes and some other fresh baked food items (I didn’t see a sign on them behind the counter but there appeared to be some kind of piroshki which is a dough stuffed with a variety of fillings). The prices were comparable to other European markets in the area. There also seems to be a little coffee shop at the rear of the store but I’m not sure if the cashier for the market makes the coffee as well or how that works. No one was in the coffee shop area when we were in the store.

Rugged Grounds SLC – Menu with Prices – 29 E 400 S, Salt Lake City

This coffee bar was quite a pleasant find! After dealing with the fairly tepid beverages being served at the hotel I was staying at, the coffee being served here was superb, and made with meticulous and exquisite care by the staff, who clearly cared about what they were serving, and were open to questions and speaking about their shop and the coffee scene in SLC. The cafe is separated into a small but cozy parlor room with comfortable seating, and a bar/service area in the back that still bear the marks of the knife-sharpening shop that had occupied the space for a good portion of the last century. A wide selection of loose tea and kombucha is available, along with the espresso and coffee beverages brewed from the fresh roasted beans from the main shop in Provo. Highly recommended!

Compass Coffee – Menu with Prices – 142-82 Rockaway Blvd, Jamaica

Went in for a cup of coffee and to use the bathroom and ended up buying some sweets. This place is definitely Jamaica’s hidden gem. As soon as you walk in the door, the staff welcomes you. The space is extremely well kept and clean (which is especially appreciated if anyone else has seen a refrigerated display case in any coffee shop/deli/diner). The coffee was delicious and had the price of a coffee from 7-11. The bread pudding was honestly the best I’ve ever had (sorry grandma). The walnuts were fresh and perfectly seasoned. Don’t get me started on the macaroons, amazing. I wish I lived closer and didn’t wander in by chance. Their pricing is better than Starbucks and their sizes and portions are better and taste extraordinary.

Bitty & Beau’s Coffee – Menu with Prices – 4949 New Centre Dr, Wilmington

This is the cutest local chain coffee shop there ever was! I am in love with a good coffee, but a good coffee with a mission behind it? Sign. Me. Up. Not only is the vibe exactly what I want in a coffee shop, it’s got good coffee. Bonus! This one is a little hard to find because you look like you’re going to go and buy a Cadillac at first then you realize the coffee shop is next door. Once you figure out you don’t need to purchase a car you can breathe easy and get your heart pumping on caffeine. This space is so clean, bright, and white. I want to sit on my computer and work all day in there. The employees are the nicest and so upbeat. I ordered a chocolate muffin and a brown sugar cinnamon iced latte with almond milk (no soy). The coffee was good – too sweet for my taste but the name sounds sweet so I get what I asked for. I am interested in buying some coffee beans once I’m ready for more and can’t wait to brew it in the pour over!

Kickapoo Coffee – Milwaukee Cafe – Menu with Prices – 232 E Erie St, Milwaukee

I have been to Kickapoo a few times over the last 3.5 years I’ve been in Milwaukee. Their coffee is always solid. The espresso drinks are good but the pour-over is their strong suit. Those espresso drinks are always beautifully presented, though. All of their coffee has a distinct and what I’d call “thoughtful” flavor profile–strong, complex, and not too acidic. The coffee shop itself is right across the street from MIAD, so naturally it’s a go-to place for college students to study. It can get crowded, though. To me it’s just a hair too loud to really concentrate. I’ve tried to go there to get some reading done that I actually want to retain and found the noise and activity level a little distracting. But it’s a cool atmosphere–clean and modern. In addition to the coffee they have a few baked goods and a daily soup. I had the soup one day and it was tasty. I don’t remember precisely what it was. Today’s was a kale and white bean. Prices are comparable to other coffee shops in the area. Their coffee maybe leans more to the “aesthetic” presentation than other establishments’. But there’s a place for that. It’s not carried to such an extreme that non-coffee snobs feel unwelcome. And the coffee is delicious. There are lots of coffee spots in the Third Ward but Kickapoo is unique enough to stand out and their coffee holds its own.

Donuts Plus – Menu with Prices – 918 N Glassell St # A, Orange

My boyfriend and I work right down the street, and man are we thankful this amazing donut shop is so close to us! We love coming here for a quick delicious breakfast, we drive school buses and our breaks are rather short. It doesn’t matter if I come here at 5 in the morning or 10 am, it’s always packed! But that doesn’t matter because they are quick to get you in and out. Their donuts are so soft, they have so many flavors, they have breakfast sandwiches, up to 18 different sandwiches if not more. Coffee is THE BEST! I’ve never had coffee so good as the one here hands down. They are so friendly and they always know your order. They offer a large variety of soft drinks also, energy drinks, smoothies, boba and pain relief! I could go on and on but come see for yourself and try the best donut shop in OC

Bodhi Leaf Coffee Traders – Menu with Prices – 26910 Sierra Hwy Unit D-2, Santa Clarita

What stands out most about this coffee shop is simply: the coffee. A lot of coffee shops try to gimmick or style their way into business – not Bodhi. The interior is niche and interesting, possibly a little distracting if you’re not used to the style, but not drab or over the top. But their focus is the coffee, with dozens of options between brewing methods and type of coffee (or other drinks), there is something for everyone, and even coffee connoisseurs are not easily dissuaded from the quality here. Easily some of the best coffee in SC, if you like or love coffee, give it a try. If you don’t like it, try something else, they have something for you! Service is great, they are very kind and friendly, and they are quick as well. There aren’t an abundance of places to sit, though there are chairs inside (tables and a bar) and outside, which might be their one slight, but it’s usually not so busy that there is nowhere to sit. Overall, a great coffee shop with options to satisfy just about anyone and good service as the cherry on top.

A Hill of Beans Coffee Roasters – Menu with Prices – 14512 W Center Rd, Omaha

A Hill of Beans roasts absolutely outstanding coffee. That’s really all you need to know. Whether you’re looking for an exotic, full-bodied coffee, or a light and sweet flavored blend, they do it all, and do it well. If you’re any kind of coffee fan, that’s all you should really need to know, but if you need more convincing, just stop by and walk inside – it’ll only take a moment for the amazing aromas to hit you and you’ll be in caffeinated love (though, I should note, they have the widest variety of decaf coffee I’ve ever seen, too. Y’know, if that’s your thing). I’ve tried quite a few of their coffees (flavored and non), and it’s all been uniformly excellent. I’ll admit, it can be a little overwhelming when you first walk in – there’s just such a huge variety! But you can take your time and smell anything and everything, and the staff are always friendly, helpful, and patient – a great recipe for a relaxed and enjoyable shopping experience. And while you’re there, be sure to get a coffee drink at their small but excellent cafe. In addition to roasting great coffee, they make delicious beverages on-site, too. My recommendation: Order off-menu and ask for a honey latte. One of the baristas recommended it to me a few months ago, and it blew me away. Give it a try, and it will probably, have the same effect on you.

Hill Street Donut House – Menu with Prices – 1926 S Coast Hwy, Oceanside

While I have genuine nostalgia 4 anything that still has the hill street name in it. I did not have a fantastic experience at the donut shop. I stopped to get a quick bagel and coffee before an appointment, they did not have much of a selection on breakfast sandwiches Etc and when I ordered a bagel the gentleman offered me plain or everything. Those are your choices. After a bit of time the coffee and the bagel came out and I went to my car to snack on the way to my appointment and much to my shock there were no condiments for the bagel in the bag. No cream cheese no butter no Jam nothing! I mean what the heck who just needs a plain bagel with nothing! The coffee also was not strong and delicious as I always anticipate coffee to be and the visit left me feeling very unsatisfied. I doubt I will be back anytime soon

Pit Stop Espresso n’ Deli – Menu with Prices – 1820 Portland Ave E, Tacoma

First off, the name “Pit Stop” is accurate. This is basically a sheltered chuck wagon with minimal furnishings and facilities. That said, the sandwiches we got were delicious and the staff was friendly. Seating is very limited, and there can be a long wait at lunch time for your food (always packaged to go). They recommend calling your order in 20mins in advance if you’re in a hurry. They serve breakfast until 10am, and their breakfast menu looks pretty good. They have a great variety of beverages available – Pepsi and Coke products plus coffee, juices, and energy drinks. Overall, it’s a great option when you’re in the area.

Matchless Coffee Soda? Co. – Menu with Prices – 800 44th Ave N, Nashville

As a person who 1) doesn’t normally go for carbonated beverages, and 2) drinks black coffee exclusively, I was skeptical when someone offered me a taste of their coffee soda. I found it to be wonderful! It’s refreshing, pleasantly tingly (like I said, I’m not a carbonation drinker normally), and just sweet enough to satisfy the need for a treat (but not regrettably so). It’s kind of in its own category in my mind â?? not just as a caffeine dose I require to function cognitively, but a drink I am in the moment with while sipping because it’s so darn tasty. Now I order one every time I’m at a cafe that has it on tap. (Sadly, my neighborhood coffee shop doesn’t have it yet.)

Rochester Brewing and Roasting Company – Menu with Prices – 2129 Washington St, Kansas City

Coffee shop in the morning, and brewery in the afternoon, novel concept that works out great. On a recent family outing to downtown we stopped into Rochester Brewing since Boulevard was already packed due to bingo and boy am I glad we did. My wife goes here almost daily for coffee since she works around the corner, and has been raving to me about how cool it was. Space: I guess you could say it is the typical “hipster” coffee house/taproom vibe with lots of exposed brick and floor to ceiling front windows. The place is absolutely MASSIVE, like I’m pretty sure they will start using one area as an event space it was so big. They had a nice kids corner set up with some toys and games to keep the little ones occupied as you enjoyed a coffee or beer. Drinks: I sampled some of their variations of cold brew, which were delicious, and then proceeded to move onto trying their beer. The beer was really tasty, they had a great variety of styles to choose from, including a coffee beer (duh, its a coffee shop). They definitely made a good showing of their first round of beers and I can’t wait to see what they plan to brew in the future. Staff: The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about all the drinks they sold. They were able to answer all the questions I had about the beers and helped me choose the ones that they thought I would enjoy the most. Overall, this is a really cool place that any coffee or beer lover should put on their short list to check out.
