Fort Lauderdale isn’t exactly known for a good selection of Thai restaurants, so knowing there’s one around close to the action of Fort Lauderdale Beach is a nice surprise. You’ll have to be someone who has attention to detail to notice this place even exists, because for a couple of years I thought this was just a 2nd floor to Primanti Brother’s. I visited today with the wifey, 5/12/2019, we were greeted kindly. We had the option of sitting anywhere, which consisted of about enough room for about 10 tables. They have a special dining area where you have to take your shoes off, which is neat, so we sat there. The other choices however, are not bad because you can get an ocean view of all the action of Sunrise Blvd and A1A. we had: 1. Singha Beer – $4.95? 2. Panang Curry – $13.95 3. Massaman Curry – $13.95 4. Fried Bananas w/ Ice Cream – $6 Singha beer was okay, it had a very light taste, it was good but not my favorite. Panana Curry and Massaman Curry were exactly how you expect them to taste from a Thai place, and the Fried Banana w/ Ice Cream could’ve been a little better. Overall, a pleasant experience, close to the beach, much better than 90% of overpriced food you find on Fort Lauderdale Beach. 4*

Hong Thai Express – Menu with Prices – 4155 Rickey St SE #134, Salem

I’ve been looking for a decent massaman curry in Oregon for years. This place makes a great one, by far the best in Salem. The second I had the food placed in front of me I knew it would be a winner, just based on the rich orange/brown color and aroma. I had mine with tofu (I don’t bother ordering meat until a restaurant has shown they can cook) and the tofu was excellent as well – so good I’ll probably order it with tofu again. I went medium heat awas perfectly spicy for a medium. I will try the Panang curry next but I’m probably going to order the massaman curry 3-4 more times just to make sure they know there is demand for it. Honestly, I’m almost in shock to see excellent Thai curry in Salem after trying so many mediocre places. Now we just need an Indian restaurant that is this good. Update: I’ve been back three or four times. Extremely tasty every time. We’ve ordered the Pad See Ew, the Orange Chicken, and the Chow Mein. All of these dishes were excellent. My kids in particular loved the orange chicken and the Chow Mein. My one nit pick is the heat level on the Massaman curry is a little inconsistent. I’ve gotten medium every time but it has been less than medium to quite spicy. I have a wide tolerance for heat so it’s fine but it’s something they could work on. Update 2: orange chicken wasn’t good the second time we ordered it. Everything else was still yum Update 3: A few months have gone by and I’m sitting here eating my massaman curry with tofu (plus asparagus added) and maybe I’m just in the mood for it but I can honestly say this is the best meal I’ve had in years. The flavor and texture of everything in this dish is spot on. I would give the dish I’m eating right now six stars if I could.

Ala Thai East – Menu with Prices – 6663 Atlanta Hwy, Montgomery

I ordered the panang curry and it blew my mind. I love panang and order it at every Thai place I go to. I also love Thai and ate it everyday for lunch last summer. This place had some of the best I have had. The only weird thing is it’s served on a bunch of crispy won tons. I was disappointed when I saw it but they ended up being really good. They soaked up the curry well and therefore tasted fantastic. Also they didn’t get immediately soggy so you still got some crunch. Also the curry was mostly all meat. I hate when you pay $10 for curry sauce over potatoes with a piece of meat or two. This was all chicken with the occasional bell pepper mixed in. Finally, the staff was super friendly. They made sure we knew they delivered pretty much anywhere within half an hour and kept inviting us back. I would have gone back even if the curry was mediocre just because of how cool they were. I would knock a star because I paid $11+ for a relatively small portion of curry, but that’s the going rate for Thai food unfortunately. I was a little begrudging initially, but I’ll be forking over a lot more money the next time we go.

Talay Thai Restaurant (Halifax) – Menu with Prices – 5164 Morris St, Halifax

I’ve been to Talay Thai several times over the years and am consistently blown away by the combination of delicious food, superb service and staff, and fantastic prices. To top it off the ambiance is wonderful with good acoustics, unlike too many restaurants that are awkwardly noisy. We had a dinner of 5 people tonight, with plain rice. Pad Thai with extra veggies instead of meat, a cashew veggie curry and a massaman curry with chicken. We had spring rolls and mango salad to start. Because it was a birthday the server brought a gratis ice cream mound with a candle, ringed by pieces of the deep fried banana dessert. Service was so very friendly and efficient. The total bill for 5 people with drinks was $93. Just an all round great Thai restaurant!

crushcraft Thai Eats – Menu with Prices – 3675 Gaylord Pkwy #1105, Frisco

As others have mentioned, this is kind of a quick casual Thai place. Give your order and pay at the register, and they call your name when it’s ready. One interesting twist is that they offer bar service, but it’s a separate check from the food. We sampled a Thai beer (Singha, the country’s most popular), but full bar is available if you want something else. For the dining portion, my partner and I tried several dishes, with fairly consistent success. The mango salad to share (as opposed to a side salad) was nice, with julienned green mango and a mild dressing along with various greens. We also had a cup of tom kha kai (spicy and sour chicken coconut soup), and it was fantastic. Great flavor and nice spice, with big chicken pieces. My entree was the beef panang curry, which featured a rich, substantial red curry sauce with large, tender beef pieces over rice. We ended up kind of competing for the beef pieces in this one, it was SO good. Our other entree was the kra pao, with ground pork cooked to almost crispy, basil, bell peppers, onion, chili paste, and a fried egg. This dish was decidedly spicy, and was a very, very good dish. We ended up taking home leftovers (pro tip: consider getting the rice on the side if you plan to do this, so it won’t soak up the sauce overnight) and it was delicious the next day as well. This was definitely a great meal, and we’ll be back for more.

Thai Oudone Valley Grill LLC – Menu with Prices – 5983 Cloverdale Rd, Roanoke

Oh I almost hate to rave about this restaurant as it’s the best kept secret in Botetourt County & I selfishly don’t want it to get too busy! Right across from Read Mountain Fire & Rescue, this privately owned restaurant has the best Massaman Curry Chicken (and great Pad Thai). If you aren’t a fan of spicy food, make sure you tell them! They really do cook to order. They use a “pepper” rating, 1 pepper is slightly spicy (though my best friend says “more than slightly”.) I’ve ordered the Massaman Curry with “3 peppers” (& had to drink milk with it!) And I LOVE spicy food! Totally worth it!

Aroy Thai and Sushi – Menu with Prices – 5306 Seminole Blvd, St. Petersburg

As our olde post favorite Thai restaurant in Madeira Beach had closed last year (Café De Bangkok), our quest for a replacement establishment has officially ended. We have frequented Aroy Thai at least a dozen times and it is now officially our personal favorite Thai restaurant close to Madeira Beach. We’ve regularly have tried their Green and Panang Curries, Phad Thai, Garlic Pepper, Pad Kee-Mao, Pineapple Fried Rice, Thai Basil and Cashew Nut entree’s along with the “Fresh Roll” appetizer. Either we dine in or carry out occasionally and most recently tried Door Dash Delivery. The food tastes very fresh and is hot and delicious. We try to stay Plant Based eaters, almost vegan and Aroy Thai has been a great choice in our local eating establishments. The restaurant has always been clean and the service very good. Another place that I coin the phrase “Small Joint-huge on flavor!”. If you’re a Thai foodie, it’s worth a try on Seminole Blvd just south of the 54th Ave N traffic light, west side. We Love it! I Highly recommend!

Tubtim Siam Thai Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 2359 Windy Hill Rd SE Suite 340, Marietta

I ordered through GrubHub last week. I actually called the restaurant because GrubHub didn’t allow me to specify how “hot” I would like my entree. The person who answered the phone was very pleasant, professional and how no problem accommodating my request. I ordered the Panang with Shrimp and beef and the Lemongrass Soup. The good….the lemongrass soup was great. Just the right amount of spice, the broth was flavorful and it came with a decent amount of shrimp. I really enjoyed it. The bad….the panang. I had a bad feeling when I saw that the color of the curry sauce was very light and very watery. It wasn’t that deep orange/rust type color that I am used to with panang. I also wanted it Thai hot and it really didn’t have any heat. The shrimp tasted like they were frozen and the beef…..well, it looked like steak-um strips. the taste was something I could take. I have had panang that isn’t the “best” but can still eat, this was horrid. I literally had two forkful’s and threw it away. I usually give food I don’t like to my neighbor because he will eat anything. However, I couldn’t even pass this off to him. I really wanted to like this place because I receive good service and again, the soup was great. The panang….never again!

Thai Bistro – Menu with Prices – 2055 28th St SE #9, Grand Rapids

I used to eat at this restaurant all of the time. I actually have always loved the food, but the service over the years has either been meh, just okay or so bad you’d think you’re on candid camera. One time I took a group of friends here and we walked out after the waiter asked us not to order the salad because cutting up all of the carrots was too much work. Seriously, that actually did happen. Normally I would never go back after that, but they are the only Thai place nearby open on a Sunday and again, the food tastes good. Tried ordering take out tonight. I adore their peanut curry dish. First the guy repeats back peanut supreme, so thought he misheard me. Repeat it and was told peanut curry is no longer on the menu. So bummed! Asked again in case it was a mistake and he said it has not been on it for several years. Lies! I called him out on it and said I’d had it as recently as last year and he changed his story to last year…it’s still listed on the menu though btw. Told them I’d call back because I wasn’t sure what to order. Decided on the massaman curry. He told me they don’t do that anymore either. Now I’m more annoyed than normal. No massaman curry at a Thai place? Also still on the menu!! So I settle and order yellow curry. He asked if I had rice at home to make myself. Why am I even calling this place??!! I told him to cancel the order. Ridiculous and shame on me for not seeing it coming considering past experiences there. Do not go here. This place is THE worst!

Thai Kitchen Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 1400 Village Square Blvd #114, Tallahassee

One cuisine I have always felt Tallahassee was short of is Thai food, and great Thai at that. I went to the Thai Kitchen for lunch earlier this year. The restaurant has a quaint little setup in the corner by Home Goods. The staff are very friendly. At first, I was a little nervous about expectations because it wasn’t that busy, but I was definitely left not disappointed. Thai Kitchen has a nice selection of dishes to choose from and for the lunch selection, you get a house salad with ginger dressing or soup. I went for the house salad. Their ginger dressing is one of the best homemade dressings I’ve ever had! It was incredibly fresh and tasted as though the ginger was just ground up before the salad was served. For my entree, I ordered the Massaman Curry. This curry dish is not spicy and has a base of potatoes topped with onion and peanuts. The portion size was great and the dish was very pleasing. In addition, the cost for lunch is under $10, which is super affordable compared to other restaurants that leave you paying $10-20 even just for lunch. I was very pleased with my experience and knew I would make it back again. I went back for lunch a few weeks ago and had another equally amazing experience. I definitely could not resist the side salad with ginger dressing, which was just as great as the first time. I ordered the Basil Fried Rice with chicken. The dish consisted of fried jasmine rice, chicken, egg, onion, carrots, red and green pepper, green onion, Thai basil leaves and a spicy basil sauce. This dish definitely has a kick but it also has a bunch of wonderful flavors going on all at one time. In my opinion, this dish was even better than the Massaman Curry. The chef definitely does not skimp on portions, so I was able to get two lunches from one dish and at a super low cost of less than $10. Overall, I think that Thai Kitchen is a great local restaurant and I have no doubt that it will continue its success. I would highly recommend them!

Tom Yum Thai Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 859 Sherbrook St, Winnipeg

There aren’t a lot of restaurants near HSC hospital but this at the corner of William and Sherbrook is pretty decent for Thai food. Their spice level is serious so if you choose 7 or higher it is spicy! I had 8 once and it was pretty spicy – the kind that’s still good but you’re getting a runny nose and drinking lots of water and I have a decent heat tolerance. I’ll go with 6 and it’s just right. There’s a lunch time buffet but it doesn’t appeal to me so I usually share a few dishes with friends. The green curry, red curry, panang curry and pad thai are all decent. They all average about $10 per dish when you select chicken or beef. Service is fast and efficient.

Zogam Cafe (Malaysian & Thai) – Menu with Prices – 6930 S Lewis Ave, Tulsa

The location: buried in the corner of an L-shaped strip mall, the only beacon was the flashing “OPEN” sign in the window. Arrived around 8 on a Friday night, with only one other table of customers. The setup: only about 10 tables, very clean, no alcohol served. The food: Ordered the fresh summer rolls and spring rolls as appetizers. Asked for some chili paste, which was dark brown with a smoky, earthy heat that was excellent. Entrees – Massaman curry (level 6 heat),wife had Panang curry (level 2). We both ordered the vegetable versions. Both were sublime. Had the mango ice floss for dessert, which was also beyond excellent. The service: friendly, attentive, efficient and knowledgeable. The price: $39 for two appetizers, two entrees, and a huge dessert. Not only the best Thai food we’ve had in Tulsa, it was frankly one of the best meals we’ve had in Tulsa. I can’t imagine how well this place would do if it was just in an average location.

Charm Thai Kitchen & Sushi Bar – Menu with Prices – 960 Schillinger Rd S, Mobile

I was going to head to one of my favorite stops named Taste of Thai that sits between Mobile Alabama and Pascagoula Mississippi. For some reason they were closed today which is a Monday so I decided to find me a new Thai restaurant. The layout in here is very nice. It also has a full bar. Between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. there is happy hour. Happy hour has $5 drinks as well as by one appetizer get another half off. I wish I would have checked on Yelp before I went here as I would have got the check-in special which was two Thai teas! I definitely have to go back to get that. Everything was very good. My son always likes to get the crab and cheese rangoon’s. They serve them here but they were called crab angels. This is usually a crab and cream cheese fried in a wonton. There’s had a yellow texture in the middle and it had a strong Curry Taste. It wasn’t bad just different. I also ordered me the firecracker appetizer which was good. It is imitation crab meat and cream cheese stuffed in a jalapeno and lightly fried. We then ordered our favorite which is the red curry with pork. That was very good. The presentation was very nice. If this place was closer I would definitely be a regular
