This place gets 5 stars for hospitality, unique experiences, and tasty beverages, but the total review misses a star for ambience. This is not a typical coffee shop as one might be led to believe. It is in an office complex and isn’t the easiest to identify as your destination. It may in fact be the corporate offices for Oudimentary. The only thing missing to make this a great place to be is a better environment/ambience. The bar seats four and there are some couches outside the room the bar is located, however the florescent lighting and corporate office feel isn’t easy to relax in. I would suggest some different lighting and maybe a couch and coffee table where the bar is. However the person serving is very friendly and there is calming music as well and the nice scent of burning Oud. With that said, I don’t think the goal of Oudimentary’s business is food service as it is an online retailer. However, I am thankful for the outlet that the owners have chosen to make where one can come and experience what Oudimentary has to offer. If you are interested in doing something different, quiet and enjoyable… visit Oudimentary.

New York Chicken And Grill – Menu with Prices – 3203 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Richmond

If zero was an option I’d put it. My 10yr old got a fried fish meal while eating it he said what’s this. and on every piece of fish inside was a thick piece of paper with words. whatever they wrap the fish or set it on they fried everything with that paper on it. I know damn well somebody saw that paper on the fish when dipping it in batter.not one but all. Disgusting and I wish I had time that day to take a picture to post here and take it back. When you dont take pride in your business you’re going to keep having the same lack of business so changing the name of this establishment isnt fixing the problem

Donut Depot – Menu with Prices – 3119 S Main St, Santa Ana

I must say the “CUSTOMER SERVICE is AWESOME”! It is a hole in the wall donut shop, a bit run down, but what I appreciate is that, they are open at the crack of dawn. They don’t seem irritated or even complain about it. Both women who helped me were super nice. It could use a little tender love and care, but what can you do! You dont go there to eat a steak everyone, you go there to get donut and coffees. My coffee was burning hot, my donuts were warmed up and I enjoyed every second of it. I must say I hate the parking though LOL, over all I will be visiting again! Thank You to the women and cooks for opening up so early in the morning for some of us folks!

Momentum Coffee – Menu with Prices – 3555 Rayford Rd #10, Spring

This place is a must EVERY time I come home to visit. The coffee is great and the food is great. Except today….hence the 3 star review. Customer service. I walk in and they have ONE person running the counter, drive thru and producing drinks. I get it’s a Tuesday and business can be slow during midweek and one person running the whole show can slide. I know how it gets, Ive been a barista. So, I’m patient. But, when the poor girl has a line of 5 deep, 2 cars in drive thru, and still has to make drinks for patrons who previously ordered….shes going to need help. What got me heated was while all of this was happening, there are 3 Owners(I sure hope it wasnt), managers or employees sitting in the corner chatting(or having a mtg….frankly, as a customer, dont know, dont care) and seeing their girl starting to drown, do absolutely nothing. Yet, one of the guys in a tie dye shirt just keeps glancing over at the line as it builds, still do…..wait for it…. nothing. He finally decides to make moves and help the poor girl after I was giving him a stare down. Then the dude finally walks up, asks if I’m waiting for drinks or food, I needed to step to the side counter. I told him that I was actually waiting to be helped and he rudely replied, “Well….I’m right here” DONT ever talk to a customer in that manner or tone. Customer Service is what keeps what makes a business thrive. There are plenty of coffee shops around here but Great customer service is what makes customers return for your coffee. That’s why I kept coming back. I hope the next time I’m in town the customer service is better.

River Road Coffee Menu with Prices 11569 Investor Dr #4261, Baton Rouge

These guys deserve 6 stars! They are a coffee service! I found them while I was visiting a client in Baton Rouge. They were serving up River Road Coffee at their office. To be honest I have never considered having office coffee service because I am a coffee aficionado and just figured that a coffee service could never deliver Great Coffee and Great Service. (most coffee service companies leave a LOT to be desired) I have to say … I was wrong. I get some of the freshest coffee on the planet delivered to my office every other week. They keep us supplied so we never run out of anything. Their team is super cool and easy to work with. I almost don’t want to shout this too loud – but their pricing is almost the same as what others pay for crap coffee. If the word gets out maybe I won’t get the best service any more?! But I doubt it! If you LOVE Great coffee you should give them a shout!!!

One Nickel Coworking – Menu with Prices – 4323 Main St, Philadelphia

So excited to discover a new coffee shop in Manayunk! I just stopping in for coffee and ended up staying because I loved the ambience/scene. They have plenty of available tables to sit/chat/work/study/etc. The decor is compliments their relaxed chill vibes – definite stress free environment. I ordered their pumpkin spice latte (special for the season), and wow! It was not overly sweet, like some pumpkin lattes. I asked the barista about it and learned that they make their own pumpkin spice puréed out of their own pumpkins! Completely natural and no processed syrup – so yummy for a warm fall beverage! I also learned that there are working/office tables in the back which you can rent out or they can rearrange for any type of event you want to host. They also have more tables upstairs with the same rental work/office space. Definitely need to try this out for one of my study sessions. Need to go back to see how their coffee brews, but for a new coffee shop – I say they mastered the pumpkin spice latte early on. Kudos!

Barbeque Grill and Seafood Resaturant – Menu with Prices – 1505 W Memorial Blvd, Lakeland

First let me start by saying I respect local black business and also support them but this one here needs to allow they employees to take a training course on how to communicate with the customer because the employee they had there her skill suck when you run a business you always ask if you paying with cash or debit that’s just part of business skills just dont put anyone to your window that person is representing you and your business and on Saturday that young lady made you and your business look really bad when she didn’t asked me how i was paying and i had to go get cash because she says your debit machine was down but why sweet heart you didn’t say that before I ordered all this food VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

Deccan Grill – Menu with Prices – 535 W Airport Fwy #110, Irving

A dive of a restaurant that offers exceptional indian cuisine. The current construction does no justice for creating an inviting environment. Walking in isnt any better. There’s this large, awkward space in the layout that feels like they have more space than needed. The menu on the billboard behind the cashier has no prices, so dont be afraid to ask. Sometimes they give you your appetizer right away. Other times, they give it to you once they have some made. Their samosas are crispy, flaky, and have a nice ration to bread and filling. I widh I could have some tamirand sauce, but it was still good without it.

Crossroads Hotel – Menu with Prices – 2101 Central St, Kansas City

I had arrived fairly early in the morning and only expected to store my luggage before heading out to the office for an afternoon of meetings. Instead, not only was the friendly receptionist able to check me in early but also able to accommodate a request for a room facing outside; I was warned that depending on the day, a room facing the inside might be noisy. The hotel is located in the Crossroads Arts District, in a former bottling and distribution center for Pabst Brewery. It is a smaller, more intimate hotel, beautifully designed to take into account the existing structure and surrounding neighborhood. The lobby is four stories high, clad in both wood and brick, with industrial lighting layered throughout the space. At the front, there is a large bar and lounge area with comfortable and casual seating. It is a place to have a drink, strike up a conversation, or play a game of backgammon. Alas, none of us knew how to play. There is also a roof-top bar that was perfect for warm and lazy summer evenings. For my Detroit peeps, this hotel is owned by the same people who own the Foundation Hotel, Aparium Hotel Group, home of the lovely Apparatus Room restaurant. The room itself is spacious: large bed with tall posts, mid-sized sofa and cocktail table, and a chair/table by the corner for work. It also has high ceilings, contributing to an overall sense of space. The bathroom featured sculpted hardware and lighting, an eye-catching shower stall, a sliding bathroom door, and concrete floors. It was clean and pristine, unsurprising since it had just recently opened. For once, I was tempted to raid the mini bar (but did not because… willpower), there were local treats including Christopher Elbow chocolates and barbecue almonds. Incidentally, the shampoo/conditioner here had a lovely herbal scent. Service was exceptional. Everyone was friendly and helpful, courteous and welcoming.

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Ritz Menu with Prices 320 E 6th St, Austin

Maybe they’re trying to keep it real and authentic from what this theater was decades and decades ago but that doesn’t mean the women’s bathroom has to be a rathole, disgusting experience. I literally have never seen a theater bathroom like this. Let me describe it to you: there are four stalls, one handicapped, and only two of them have lights– so the other two are like doing your business in a nightclub. The sinks are automatic and one of them was not working. The other one spewed out burning hot water. Exactly what you don’t need in 95° heat. There was a mat in front of the two sinks with water seeping out from under it. I complained to the manager on Friday, June 6 (2019) in person about these issues and returned the next day. I didn’t expect lighting to be installed but I did expect at least the courtesy of a sign that the one sink was not operational. Or, FIXED. Sadly, I saw a woman in a wheelchair trying to get water out of it and was there to let her know that the sink was broken. She then had to move over to the other sink, again on partially wet floor under a mat and navigate that. I told the management again. I suggested that they put an “out of order” sign on the sink, which they had neglected to do as a courtesy to their customers like the handicapped woman who had to deal with this. They obviously don’t seem to care. Because of this, I would NEVER return to this decrepit theater.

Magic Beans Coffee Roasters – Menu with Prices – 501 W 6th St, Lexington

I have Magic Beans shipped to me regularly in Alexandria, VA. I used to get beans from a couple of places in my area that also sell fresh-roasted, single-origin beans – and which I thought were pretty great – until I tried Magic Beans. Now I don’t want to drink any other coffee ever. Magic Beans isn’t just better than cheap diner coffee and corporate mega-chain coffee. Its better than anything you’ve ever had anywhere. Its worth mail-ordering, and actually even with shipping its cheaper than some places I’ve bought from in person. I promise you, no matter how great you think your current favorite coffee place is, until you’ve had Magic Beans, you don’t even really know what coffee is supposed to taste like. And yes, I’m also talking to those of you who already buy fancy, single-origin, coffee from hipster places that only do pour-overs, etc. Dump out the coffee you’re drinking right now and go order some Magic Beans.
