Small town feel and really good, standard diner food. When I say simple, I mean it. I love that their menus are well-seasoned paper packets with prices that you’ll think are way too low. Service is always on point, very nice and have that southern hospitality feel. Tip: seat yourself! When we came the first time on a busy Saturday we stood in the doorway like dummies. They said to find any open table and if there’s leftover dishes it’s still OK to sit if nothing else is open–they’ll clear it when they can. Also, home fries are so good. Not just potatoes in a skillet. Super flavorful!

BlackBerry Cafe – Menu with Prices – 2090 N Dobson Rd, Chandler

*Going to edit my review to clear up what I wrote due to the reply I recieved by the business manager.* Came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. I had high expectations for this place. I ordered a skillet but also ordered the banana nut french toast for my girlfriend and I to share. The french toast really did not taste anything more than ordinary. It was just okay, I feel like we could have skipped out on that because it did not satisfy our craving. Also, our waitress forgot to bring us syrup after delivering food to our table. We had to wait 20 mins to get her attention and to check on our table. The skillet I ordered was the fiesta skillet, which in fact does come with red potatoes but did NOT state this in my original review. I actually read the menu again which states that all of their skillets come with HASHBROWNS besides the fiesta skillet. The skillet I ordered I had was actually pretty good!…until a few bites in, I found a piece of HAIR in it. This made us stop eating everything we ordered altogether. My girlfriend ordered the breakfast meat omelet which comes with HASHBROWNS which I happened to get a little taste of. The hashbrowns are thicker cut than your normal thinly shredded hashbrowns. I felt as if the thickness of the potatoes caused it to be undercooked. They were still really hard and crunchy. They tasted like dehydrated potatoes that were cooked in grease on high just to get that nice brown color. Our waitress was extremely nice but disappeared for a good 20 mins leaving us without any refills or syrup after delivering food to our table. Mind you, the restaurant was not that busy, at all. When we finally got her attention, she instantly took care of everything & this is when I brought it to her attention that I found a piece of hair in my food & no longer wanted my meal. She offered to make a new one but I kindly declined due to losing my appetite. Overall, I wasnt really impressed with their food. It is way over hyped and over priced for the quality you receive. I do not accept the apology in the response I received by the business manager in my original review post. She was rude & that apology was completely insincere. Now, I definitely do NOT recommend this place to anyone & will not be coming back.

Tin Can Cafe – Menu with Prices – 307 S Myrtle Ave, Clearwater

Living in the area, I’ve passed by this cafe dozens of times and thought it looked kind of interesting and always had a crowd inside. Today a friend and I ventured out For breakfast and I suggested we try the Tin Can café. The ambience has all of the Cozy kitschy aesthetic that is missing from most fast food chain restaurants. There aren’t a lot of tables but we grabbed a communal table next to an older couple that were enjoying their breakfast. They have quite a few “skillet” dishes and I decided to try one that had sour cream and salsa. The dish was topped with two eggs which were cooked beautifully and underneath were cheese chop meat onions Green peppers and potatoes. The salsa was straight out of a jar and didn’t have much taste and the skillet dish was tasty until I got halfway through and realized it was sitting in a puddle of grease. I was looking forward to some crispy potatoes but in fact they two were soggy because they were sitting in the grease. The coffee was passable and at least had half-and-half available on the table. My friend ordered eggs and Italian sausage with fried potatoes. Upon taking his first bite of sausage he immediately said they tasted greasy. I tasted a piece of the sausage and agreed that chopping the sausage into pieces and heating it up on a grill not only made them greasy but dried out the meat. His potatoes were also limp and greasy and didn’t have much crispness to them. The gal serving us was very sweet and accommodating and offered great service. I’m sorry to say I don’t think I’ll be returning.

Man vs Fries – Menu with Prices – 2307 International Blvd, Oakland

When I found out about this new place with carne asada fries in the east bay, was super excited! ? Been on the hunt for a decent place and this place is tasty, with a unique spin on it. My first encounter with Man vs Fries was via delivery. My roommate shared her breakfast burrito and asada fries with waffle fries. Not sure the route of the delivery guy on the Saturday morning- but fries were pretty soggy when it got to us. Still, it was a good amount of everything- guac, sour cream, nacho cheesey cheese (this def isnt San Diego), and a side of this tasty queso. Breakfast burrito is massive- we split it into thirds and still a good amount. We agreed it could use something to cut the flavor and heaviness/dryness of the potatoes and meat better (like sour cream or more salsa). Second encounter: At first, I had thought this place might be delivery only, but saw a post of the actual location and wanted to give it a try. Went on a weekday after work (maybe 6:30ish?) . The place was a little tough to find but good ol’ Google led the way. I was lucky to get a spot, but looks like its pretty much all street parking. Empty inside- a pretty large space with minimal decor, but clean! ? Always a plus. Cashier was friendly too. Ordered asada fries to go with straight fries- it took a little more than 15 minutes. Felt a little surprising since I was the only one there, but not sure if they were just backlogged with delivery orders or maybe my expectations are off on this. Left the box open while driving home to prevent the sogginess and munched on some on the way. The fries were waaaay better fresh. Also the straight fries seem to have the same seasoning as the waffle fries (the kind of seasoning that you would taste on a curly fry), which was pretty good and flavorful, and not something I have encountered in SoCal (personally wanted traditional fries but thats okaayyy, these are yummy too). They also definitely stuffed the box with fries as much as possible, which I appreciate. ? The fries were my favorite part of these asada fries. This time around, it was a cilantro overkill and I could barely find the guacamole. ? The meat was good but felt like it could be a little more flavorful. But I would still go back! And try their other stuff. ? or even try the same things and hope I get a better guac to cilantro ratio.

Luna’s Bistro Menu with Prices 3004 Cinema Pl, Bellingham

Wow! The dinner special for Saturday night was an amazing combination of fork-tender lamb shanks, creamy mashed potatoes and a side of vegetables. Our waitress returned after taking our order to tell us that they had run out of the broccoli and would substitute a veg combo. We got both carrots and cauliflower. We like this restaurant and visit fairly frequently, but this was our first time on a Saturday evening. They offer a Chef’s Special & when I learned it was lamb, my choice had been made. My husband and I generally order different entrees & occasionally share bites of particularly flavorful dishes. I told him if he wanted to try the lamb, he better order his own plate, since I had no intention of sharing!! So we both enjoyed this very well prepared meat dish and the side dishes too. We will definitely be back to try another chef’s special, as well as their burgers, halibut & chips. It’s great having reliably great restaurant meals close to home…

J. Christopher’s – Menu with Prices – 1275 Powers Ferry Rd, Marietta

Alysia, our server, was in training, and I was a challenge to her. I remembered that in the past I was told that I could feel free to ask for substitutions at J Christopher. I ordered the turkey avocado skillet without any turkey, maybe just throw in a few veggies of any kind. My husband suggested â??something like the veggie omelet ingredients.â? When it came, it was SO delicious! I hated to complain that there was no avocado in it. I did mention it to her, but said do not give me avocado as it was already delicious. It was because my husband had suggested just putting in the veggie omelet ingredients. No problem.. Before I knew it, Ryan, Alysiaâ??s trainer, appeared with a small bowl of avocado slices. That made the skillet super delicious!. Really, this veggie skillet ought to be on the menu!. Both Ryan and Alysia made us feel so welcome and well served with their gracious, friendly hospitality. We no longer live close to this Christopher, but we will no doubt want to get back when we can because of these good spirited servers who did everything they could to make us happy and well fed. .

Petit & Keet – Menu with Prices – 1620 Market St, Little Rock

First timer here. We were one of the first to arrive for Sunday Brunch. We were greeted by an infectiously bubbly Jess who offered us our choice of table. We seated ourselves at a table between the bar and main dining room where the temperature was a little warmer. We started with Mimosas and Bloody Marys. They were perfect. The Bloody Mary had just the right amount of spice. Next was the hot pimento cheese skillet which came with crispy pita chips. Normally the Mrs is unenthusiastic about pimento cheese, but this struck the perfect balance between a dip and a skillet recipe, and it was devoured in minutes. Two of our party ordered the shrimp and blintz; one of our party being familiar with variations of this dish commented that it was more flavorful than what he was accustomed and made short work of the blini, and assisted the other of out party with an extra piece of shrimp she couldn’t finish. The author of this review had the pork belly burnt ends with potatoes and poached egg. It was fabulous, and I hated to see the last of it go. The biscuits and gravy are a slighly newer interpretation of a southern favorite; light fluffy biacuits and gravy with a silky smooth texture and flavor. This is a must try if you visit LR or live nearby. This will become a regular stop for us. Kudos to the staff for a perfect service, and excellent food.

The Pumping Company – Menu with Prices – 1463 W Leland Ave, Chicago

This is the sister delivery company of Chicago Grilled Cheese and Mac Factory. Ordered take out and it was fast. Placed order online at 5:35 pm and the guy was at our door at 5:55 pm. Order the following: Pulled Pork Sandwich with French Fries for Dr M – pork was really good, nice and tender. Good BBQ flavor, wasn’t swimming in sauce (which I hate). Nice size sandwich…bun was toasted. Fries were hot and seasoned. Pot Roast (Dinner) for the Heiress Apparent – this was a big entree. Lots of potatoes and gravy on the bottom and a big pile of meat on top. Again the meat was tender and potatoes were good. I am bias when it comes to potatoes, so you really have to f*ck them up for me to not like them. She also got a Cookie Skillet with ice cream. Cookie came in a separate container and was warm with a side of chocolate sauce. Ice cream was in a separate container. Standard dessert. Steak Wrap with mashed potatoes and gravy – I got this. Veggies were fresh but not a lot of meat in the wrap. It was light and had a good flavor, but I would not order this again. Overall this was a solid performance and I would definitely order from them again. I will consider upgrading the review once I try something else.

Lele East & West Thai Vietnamese Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 5015 Tacoma Mall Blvd #103, Tacoma

The Pho is VERY good at Lele’s East & West. I don’t order anything other than Pho. My daughter (who is also my caregiver) orders off the menu; she has been pleased. The restaurant is clean, the service is usually good but, there are times when it’s far from stellar. When we go to LeLe’s East & West it’s most often in mid-afternoon (my daughter has a standing appointment at a nearby business). The last several times, our order was taken, the (very good) food was delivered and the waitperson disappeared into the kitchen. We do not go at a busy time of day; we are often the only customers – we are not demanding. That having been said, I feel very uncomfortable when it is necessary to raise my voice (significantly) and call for someone to bring to-go containers and our bill. Speaking of take home items, this is the ONLY restaurant I’ve visited that delivers a take home container for Pho (a broth/rice noodle soup) to the table and expects the customer to transfer the soup to the container. Pho bowls are large and pouring leftover broth/noodles into a plastic take-out container requires some finesse!. My last attempt to package the leftover Ph was not successful and I spent considerable time cleaning spilled broth from the table and seat.

The Crowned Egg – Menu with Prices – 911 S Lindsay Rd B 106, Gilbert

Lovely. Yelp reviews are on target. We had the green chili pork skillet and it was loaded with succulent shredded pork. A few chunky red potatoes that my husband said “were excellent!” Not too spicy at all – really – so go for it! (But then again ASK because Hatch chilies can vary!) Okay…the Eggs Benedict Florentine with bacon added was spot on. Poached eggs, fresh spinach, and the lovely hollandaise had a TINY HINT of something….just an itty bitty kick. Bacon was thick and crunchy. Now about their hash browns – get a double order if you love crispy hash browns (ask for them crispy). They are THE BEST IVE HAD. Not dripping in oil or butter. Flavorful and absolutely SPOT ON. Nice service. Family owned. Nice. We got here on a Saturday around 12:15 and it wasn’t busy. Can’t understand that – it’s worth a ten to twenty Mike drive. Yasss!

Geno’s Diner – Menu with Prices – 1339 Latham Rd, Rockford

We have driven by the Corner Cafe many times and finally we decided to stop and give them a try today. We were pleasantly surprised. The outside appearance doesn’t do justice to the modern and very clean interior. We were greeted as soon as we entered. We picked a booth and a waitress helper came over right away and provided menus and took our drink menu. Being a little after noon my wife ordered a burger and fries and I ordered a Mexican Skillet. The hamburger was tasty and the fries were hot and crispy. My skillet was more than an ample size and topped with a good amount of chorizo. The two eggs on top were made to perfection. The waitress was friendly. The prices were on an average with other local diners. Although it’s not near any other businesses it is worth the short drive for a good meal.

Decadent Dessert Bar Macon – Downtown – Menu with Prices – 530 Poplar St, Macon

Went here after hearing so much about it from other people. Walking in, the decor is similar to what you’d find after a Fixer Upper episode. Very big area with a few tables. Decorated with a Christmas tree fitting for the holidays. We were greeted as we walked in. The gentleman asked if it was our first time and we said yes. So, he came from behind the table to tell us about the plethora of desserts and hot drinks they had. After speaking with him, we decided we’d have some desserts there and some to-go. We ordered a slice of wedding cake, the donut holes skillet w vanilla gelato, a donut snowman for my wife, and a cannoli for myself. The last two items were to-go. We were super excited about all the choices we made. Especially the skillet. It normally takes about 10 minutes for the skillet to be made, so be patient. The donut holes were warm, gooey and fresh out of the oven… or fryer? The gelato was perfect! Just the right amount of sweet and very creamy. The star of the show was the wedding cake! Very delicious all around cake that brought my wife and I back to the day of our own wedding. The two other items we have yet to taste, but I’m sure we’ll get to them soon! All in all a great experience with great service. We’ll be sure to come back soon.
