Coasters Lounge – Menu with Prices – 400 Mandalay Ave, Clearwater Beach

Coasters Lounge, located inside the Hilton at Clearwater Beach hotel, is so awesome. Everyone kept raving about the pina coladas at the tiki bar on the beach, and I was too late… they had just closed the tiki bar! So I took a chance on the bar inside of the hotel. It is seriously the BEST pina colada I have ever had. They use a simple mix and a dark rum, but it tasted like heaven. The ice was perfectly blended and since we were inside, they give you a straw (I can understand that many seagulls probably choke on straws that are carelessly strewn on the beach from the tiki bar customers). And lets face it, pina coladas were made for drinking with a straw. When I mentioned that this was the best pina colada I had ever had to the bar tender as I ordered a second one, she drizzled more rum on top! I was a very happy, very tipsy customer after that pina colada. This bar is just as good, or better than the famed tiki bar at the beach… They also tend to run out of the pina colada mix at the tiki bar (but still serve the drink with half the mix!!) and gave me a bit of attitude instead of explaining why I can’t get a straw when I asked for one. Best and friendly service with a smile! Great lounging area.

Park West Cafe Menu with Prices 1 Park W Blvd #120, Akron

Friendly staff, quick service and the food was excellent! I had a perfect egg salad sandwich. Bread was fresh and lettuce was actually crisp! Chips and a pickle included and the pina colada smoothie was refreshing!

La Bodega RVA – Menu with Prices – 104 N 18th St, Richmond

Bienvenidos! That is what the sign said outside of La Bodega and I most definitely felt welcome. I felt like I stepped off the 5 train and right into the heart of the Bronx. The restaurant is small and only has 6 small tables and a even smaller bar but you will feel right at home. Graffiti pictures and New York signage adorn the walls, Ozuna was playing on the sound system and I could smell the delicious flavors of the Latin cuisine. I had been wanting to eat here since it had opened but it is always crowded. I just so happened to walk by when there was seating available and decided to finally see why La Bodega was always packed. Liliana was my bartender/server and she was awesome. She gave me great recommendations for my first visit. She recommended I try a signature cocktail so I ordered a Nuyorican Pina Colada. It transported me right to Puerto Rico! It wasn’t frozen but it was creamy, fully of flavor and rum. It was so good that I didn’t mind that it was on the rocks. This was the best Pina Colada I had outside of the Caribbean or Miami. It was muy bueno! For appetizer I order the empanadas. They came out steaming and piping hot, filled with succulent chicken and cheese. You must add some La Bodega sauce to these little meat pies. The sauce is a orange tangy concoction that I slathered all over my food. It took the already delicious food over the top. For my entree I ordered the Ropa Vieja, which I smelled before I saw it. Slow cooked, marinated shredded beef with onions and peppers atop of rice and beans and 4 perfectly fried tostones was placed before me in a beautiful presentation. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! The portion was huge and every bite was superb. I was so full from my drink and appetizer that I couldn’t finish my food, but it was even better later that night for dinner. I had such a great experience that I brought my boyfriend back the next day. He is a New Yorker and I knew he would love the food and vibe. I got a Mermaid Water for my second drink experience and it was equally as delicious as the Pina Colada. We ordered the empanadas again because they are just that good. They were even better than the day before. We were craving breakfast so that is what we ordered this go round.Breakfast is served all day for you late risers! It was just ok. Not bad but not earth shaking. Going forward I am sticking to the Latin Soul Food part of the menu. It is the star of La Bodega. I can’t wait to go back!

Sol Azteca Mexican Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 9265 E Baseline Rd #103, Mesa

This place is bomb Diggity!! So the wifey tells me hey you got to try this place it’s legit. What does she know about Mexican food, she’s from the eastern block . I ended up trying this place with one of my employees, it is freaking fabulous! We had the cactus meal, the Quesa Dilla, the fajitas. All exceptional! My favorite, the Horchata. They put all those delicious walnuts and strawberries in there. Soooo down the road in the sense of time, I told the wifey she’s gotta try this Mexican joint. Turns out we were talking about the same place. Right away I got that sense we posted an add in a personal column inquiring about finding a friend who may be looking down for a piña colada and of course who do you bump into but your significant other. You know we both love long walks on the beach, getting caught in the rain, sipp’n piña colada’s and this Mexican restaurant. Who knew!

Penguin’s Snoballs – Menu with Prices – 2388 E Little Creek Rd, Norfolk

Always drive by this place out on Little Creek so I decided to give them a try. I ordered a Maui Wowie, Cream Soda and Pina Colada with whipped cream. When I was served I realized that there was another flavor in place for my Pina Colada. I would of been less annoyed if they told me that they made a mistake or was out of that flavor and ask if it was okay to put another in it’s place. The snow cone was alright, I’m not used to a pool of gooey syrup at the bottom of my cup. My husband and I can agree that it was entirely too sweet, and this may be more suitable for people who indulge in sweets more than we do. The staff was pleasant when it came to taking our orders. There’s plenty of parking and plenty of seating arrangements to sit and eat your snow cone. Great place for kids, I would come back but not for me, for my nieces.

Gourmet Buffet & Grill Menu with Prices 3317 Hamilton Blvd, Allentown

We’ve gone here several times before. We never really had a problem. My son even knows the owner’s son. Until the last time we went. We met a few friends for dinner. We were doing ok until my 8 year old ate the dumpling and found hair in it. We called the waitress to show her and she said she couldn’t see it. Well, I showed it! She took my total bill later and removed my son’s dinner bill (only $5.60). No apologies were given. Then, she took back my receipt and put back his total on the bill. I guess they changed their minds. So I decided to go to the front and complain about it. He (the owner) said they looked into it and didn’t see anything. Ummm… my whole table and the waitress saw it. And he’s denying it? I didn’t know what to say but kept on. He finally decided to take off a whopping 10% off the bill (I think it was $3+). Seriously ??? I never bothered to tell them that he found more hair on his apple. It’s not like they’re going to believe me. And it was dinner pricing but they never refilled the crab legs. We were there for a while and that spot remained empty. It’s sad and unfortunate how they handled the situation. So much for customer satisfaction. I think I’m going to head out further for my next buffet experience. We all will. Tsk Tsk… not the best thing to all of us who work in the health field. NOOOO THANKS!!!

Orange Julius – Menu with Prices – 303 Bay Park Sq #Ki15, Green Bay

They were out of Pina Colada drinks. I ordered a regular orange one, and it was awful. Very watered down- not thick at all and barely even cold. It tasted like watered down bitter orange juice. The service was friendly though, but I won?t go back.

Tacos “El Rorro” – Menu with Prices – 2120 E Price Rd Ste D, Brownsville

Service was OK didn’t expect much though, but finally some tacos that add piña to trompo! I haven’t been able to find some in Brownsville but left me satisfied! The limonada was so sweet which I love! Definitely going to be returning. I ordered 6 tacos of trompo with pina, beans, litro de limonada, and my boyfriend ordered 4 tacos de bistec with a drink for a total of $18

South Block Menu with Prices 4150 Wilson Blvd Unit 172, Arlington

Overall, it’s expensive, but it’s one of the only specialized acai/smoothie shops in the area so it’s popularity is not surprising. So far I’ve tried the PBJ acai bowl, health nut smoothie, and mermaid bowl, and the mermaid bowl was the only one I didn’t particularly like. I’ve never had it as a full meal, but it’s a nice afternoon snack to share with a buddy. PBJ ACAI BOWL ($10) This was the first time I tried an acai bowl with peanut butter, and I was very impressed!! It’s very thick and the peanut butter is strong, but with the granola and fruit it’s a very cool and refreshing treat. HEALTH NUT (Regular $8/Large $10) I had a salad for lunch and felt like I needed a little something more, so I decided to get this smoothie since it had almonds in it. It was VERY filling and helped me power through an afternoon study session! I wasn’t even that hungry for dinner, but being the animal that I am I still ate a normal dinner portion. I would definitely recommend this as breakfast or with a light lunch. MERMAID BOWL ($11) This one just tasted.. off. Or too sour. I think it was from the pineapple juice/too fruity but if you like that then this is for you I guess. The granola/coconut helped, but while this was one of the most aesthetically/Instagram worthy bowls it’s definitely not something I’d get again.

Birdie Bowl & Juicery – Menu with Prices – 3313 Hyland Ave, Costa Mesa

Came here during my lunch with my coworkers and enjoyed every minute of it! Very refreshing and filling as well! Its a nice break from all the grease and fried food i was eating and i felt so healthy after eating it even though im def not LOL please give this place a try sometime if you love acai bowls! Pros: – Staff is very friendly here! She was really patient with me when I was ordering my food! her friend was the customer before me and they were talking for a while but i didnt mind and she kept apologizing to me for that so it was awesome of her for being aware of that but tbh, i didnt mind! – Theyre menu has everything for everyone! you can definitely find something here for you that youd like and you can also do add ons as well! I ordered the Pitaya colada but i subbed the pitaya for acai! i LOVE toasted coconuts in my acai bowls and cranola as well so this bowl was screaming my name! – When you pick up your order, they have extra toppings at the station too! They have agave, brown sugar and honey! I LOOOVE honey on my bowls so i kept coming back after eating each layer of my bowl. a lot of places don’t offer this but i appreciated that birdie has this for their customers! Mehs: – i wish my bowl was a little bit sweeter! maybe its because im the most unhealthiest person in the world but i got tired of my bowl after a while because it wasnt sweet enough! Cons: None

Merengue House Bar & Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 837 N Union St, Wilmington

Decided to go to dinner last night with my parents. I bragged about how good the lunch was to them, since this was their first visit and my 3rd, so our expectations were high. The cafeteria style lunch is not available for dinner. Big disappointment. Order off the menu only. The typical island food is almost nowhere to be found. Extremely overpriced fancy plates with little island tradition. Tostones were over fried, rice and beans were room temperature, beans had little to no flavor. The $12 Canoa, which is a stuffed sweet plantain, which we were told was huge, was not. It had very little meat inside. The churrasco skirt steak in the picture tasted like they took it from the package to the grill. ABSOLUTELY BLAND AND FLAVORLESS. The churrasco tasted like they ground up parsley and mixed it with cooking oil. It was underneath the rice instead of on the steak, which in this case was a good thing. The presentation was beautiful. But that was the highlight. We all struggled to find a positive but were left feeling cheated. We ended with the coconut flan which is so sweet and the real coconut is almost non existent. The waitress was more interested in cleaning tables, with NO ONE else in the restaurant than serving us. We received our tostones and 10 minutes later had to ask her for our drinks. Never once did she ask us for refills the rest of the night. Service was almost non existent. Maybe she was just having a bad night, but upon our arrival, we were the only ones there. The atmosphere at dinner is a young, rough looking, younger generation with no merengue. Hard core reggaeton blaring in the background. Hard to eat while that mess is pounding in your ears. Sadly, the dinner menu is extremely overpriced and flavors were only the tons of salt we all had to add to our meals. Nothing like the lunch. I don’t think I’d ever come back for dinner. But may give them one last try at lunchtime because the selections at lunchtime are what a typical Dominican/Puerto Rican would expect to eat. And lunch food is delicious.

La Piña Loca – Menu with Prices – 2623 Azle Ave, Fort Worth

Very attentive staff and extensive menu. All ice cream is made in house and are welcomed to try samples of the aguas frescas and there ice creams. They have pizzas that are made to order they usually take about 20 minutes so be prepared to wait. They serve all things ranging from the original corn in a cup or cob or you can spice things up and have them add hot cheeto dust to your corn. If your feeling brave you could try a churro split a classic twist to the old banana split. Definitely enjoy eating here evrything you try will be amazing. Decor is definitely org and will catch your attention as your driving by and see the friendly pina loca high above. Definitely recommend if you have hungry kids or family there mangonadas are the best with different flavors to choose from like pina colada, lime , strawberry , watermelon, peach personally I have tried them all and can guarantee they are some of the best you’ll ever get. And to top things of they serve micheladas no it dosent contain alcohol but it still has all the basics such as shrimp and dried meat comes with a tostada spicy peanuts lucas spaghetti and assorment of strips of fruit and cubed fruit. Only down fall is there is limited parking .
