This place has 6 regular tables and 6 billiard tables (you know, the kind with no pockets!) Not a bad room setup to play in casually with a friend or two. But if you are a higher level player, don’t expect a top of the line room and equipment. The table my partner and I was put on had holes in the cloth and they insist you break using a ragged little square of cloth under the cue ball. Why????? They told us it’s to protect the cloth but guess what … It didn’t work! Oh! And neither does the AC I guess because both times we were in, it was really hot in the place. There was a friendly guy at the counter (Mike-I think??) when we went on a weekend but a return trip on an evening, we ran into a white-haired guy you’ll want to avoid. Pretty grouchy like we were interrupting him and wasn’t really into customer service. No food is made on the premises but they allow you to bring in your own and they have chips and cookies for sale. No soda fountain either so no ice for your sodas but according to my partner the beer was cold. Music was ok but had interference from the sports on the TV and in the evening the music was cranked so you had a hard time conversing especially if you’re trying to dis your opponent! LOL The price to play during the day is decent but watch that you’re not overcharged if you play more than a couple of hours. I think they give the regulars/locals a break on the hourly cost but I’m not certain on that. So will we go back a third time? Sorry, too many other places to play to put up with a hot room with only 6 tables that aren’t in good shape and iffy service.

Lucky’s Pool Room – Menu with Prices – 4601 S May Ave, Oklahoma City

The place is now called Lucky’s Pool Room. Went here on a Wednesday evening befor a concert at the Diamond Ballroom with my 18 year old daughter to play some pool. We walked in & all the Regulation tables were taken on the entrance side which was no big deal. We went to the other side & played on the bar tables which was fine with us. The jukebox was in this room as well, so we got to enjoy playing some tunes. By the time we left most of the the bar tables were being used. We had a good time & will be back for sure. Cold beer available as well. Nice friendly service.

Club Med Billiard Parlor – Menu with Prices – 101 S 38th St, Harrisburg

Club Med is the better of the two pool rooms found in Harrisburg. The other one being BCA Billiards. Club med offers an All Night Special for $10 for those die hard pool players. They also offer a selection of tables. They have several 9 foot tables, a couple of bar tables, a billiards table (no pockets) and a 12 foot snooker table. They do offer snacks and drinks. They do not sell beer but you can bring your own beer into the pool hall. A few of the 9 foot tables looked like they are well taken care of. those tables were in use when we arrived. We played on one of the corner tables. The simonis cloth was worn and the table had a slight roll on the bottom rail. On a Saturday night, there were 6 tables going making the room about 35% full. The location of this pool room makes it easier to find than BCA billiards. If I had a choice between the two rooms, I would play at Club Med over BCA.

Buddy’s Hideaway Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 9811 Jefferson Ave, Newport News

As far as bars go it’s a decent place. Their bar food is actually tasty and the price of beer won’t make you do calculations all night long. They have pool tables and an outside area where you can smoke. They also have a pool tournament every once in a while, if you’re the competitive type. I do have one gripe. Sometimes you’ll feel like the mood is wrong and you’ll realize it’s because no music is playing. It has one of those new juke boxes that you have to pay to get points to play a song. It’s pretty expensive to play certain songs. I see them around but normally if no one is paying to play music the bar has a playlist on repeat. Not Buddy’s. If no one pays, there is no music

Higher Gravity – Menu with Prices – 4106 Hamilton Ave, Cincinnati

After a long weekend of moving into Northside I decided I needed a drink. I walked down the street and Higher Gravity was there to save the day! At first glance I knew that this was the place for me, the atmosphere was welcoming and cozy. The style was exactly what I want my house to be like, and could easily become one of my go to bars in the neighborhood. The beer selection is vast, there is something for everyone. My partner who hates beer found one he liked. If beer isn’t your thing they also have wine. The service is incredibly friendly, they have plenty of room so you won’t feel crowded. I also liked that they had board games for people to play while they were sipping on the brew of the day. This bar is definitely a great alternative to a tap room and has more variety then most tap rooms. I highly recommend checking it out when you get some time!

Pinnacle Bank Arena – Menu with Prices – 400 Pinnacle Arena Dr, Lincoln

This arena SUCKS for concerts. Maybe its better for sports but give me a break ! Its awful ! Talk about taking all the fun out of a concert experience! A good portion of the people that work concessions yhere are too old and take forever and have no idea how to pour a beer… You have to show your ticket at the door and then have to show your ticket anytime you want to exit a room and enter back into a room even to go to the bathroom… And for upwards to 200 plus dollars! Maybe a frickin stamp on your hand for the sections… IDK… Maybe… and if the band decides have sitting on the ground floor, shame on them too if they consider themselves a rock band…But this is the band’s option… Then you get to move every time somebody wants back into the row youre in just like you’re in the movie theater but with a lot less space! Somebody spills a beer and they’re getting on the radio for a mop boy…in the middle of a “rock” “concert”…People here in Lincoln are so okay with this and spend way too much money to go to this sad excuse for an arena. And they defend the beer mopping by whining “it’s a liability”…Come on ! Have any fools here been to a REAL concert ?! Thank you Pinnacle Bank Arena and all these people that support it for contributing in the true decadence of rock shows ! I’ve been to Key Arena-Seattle, Sprint Center-KC, Buffalo Chip-Sturgis SD, Bluebird Theater-Denver, Fillmore-Denver, Pershing, and even The Bourbon and I would take ANY of these venues over PBA ALWAYS. The Grove can kick it with PBA because they suck now too. If you like being corralled around like bovine and stared down by security for breathing crooked than this would be a great place for you to go watch your Bieber concert

P Reynolds Jazz Club & Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 1212 US-17 BUS, Myrtle Beach

The music was great! Recommend reservations. We called late the afternoon we went and got an 8:30pm reservation. Be prepared, this is a new business and the staff is working through the kinks. Clean, but plain, decor. Food was ok. Not a huge wine list, but the choices we had were good. Service was prompt and very friendly. We felt very welcomed. We were seated at 8:35pm as the band was just returning from a break. The band played straight through until about 10:15. Really enjoyed the music. A great way to spend a cold winter evening in Myrtle Beach. I hope to go again.

Jesse’s Place – Menu with Prices – 2311 N 24th St, Omaha

If you are looking for a neighborhood bar with great music and good drinks with an over 35 crowd, then Jessie’s is your place. The staff is super friendly, the juke box is full of old school favorites and on Sunday nights, the Midwest OG’s, led by Grover play an amazing mix of R&B, Jazz and Blues. Karaoke nights are super fun too, so you don’t want to miss those either. And don’t let the location deter you, it is right across the street from the Omaha Star on a quiet and safe stretch of 24th street and there is plenty of parking in the parking lot and on the street. The place itself is quite small, but there is enough room for dancing and a decent amount of tables. In the warmer months they open up the beer garden where there is more than enough room for dancing, talking and hanging out and don’t worry about missing the music.

Easy Eight’s – Menu with Prices – 4901 W Expy 83 #150, McAllen

First of all, this place is by The Egg & I and Aqua Tots in a plaza off Exp 83. My lovely phone navigation tried to have us do u-turns on Taylor Rd for some reason… It was pretty nice. Basically it’s lots of pool tables, a few dart boards, and lots of huge tvs on the walls showing guy sports stuff, beer, oh, and waitresses dressed in short-shorts. Not busy or intimidating at all for two people who suck at pool and don’t know what they’re doing. Would have loved if one of the screens showed the videos to the music playing. But it’s a sports bar, so I was not expecting that, it just would have been cool to see GnR on one of the screens and some other oldies that were playing. Minus one star for giving my hubby a plastic cup for his beer with a hole in the bottom of it, it was leaking out. We didn’t complain but it was not cool. Quite empty for a Friday night, hope this place is able to stay in business.

Asheville Guitar Bar Menu with Prices 122 Riverside Dr, Asheville

I have frequented this lovely place since it opened three years ago. It’s in an historic building which gives it a good ‘vibe’. It is small and is like being in a living room. Much of the decor is designed and made by the owners. Mark and Julia, are THE warmest, most gracious, creative, endearing, and ‘the coolest’ bar owners ever. The beer and wine bartenders are friendly and helpful. The beer selection is modest but with enough variety to satisfy everyone; the wine selection is over the top. Catch Julia’s ear, tell her what qualities you like in a wine and she will never steer you wrong. There is also a decent selection of non-alcoholic beverages. The live music, every evening, is excellent. Check out the calendar on Facebook for the different types of music being offered. On Sunday afternoons, there’s a pot luck meal. Listen to the live music which can be an acoustic soloist or a folk duo or a bunch of musicians who are not a band per se or the owner’s band — all of which is top-notch and fun. Usually lots of dancing going on, couples and soloists! There are a few tables out by the front parking lot and a nice deck out back with tables and chairs. I love this place. There are quite a few regulars who feel the same way. It’s very unique for the bar scene and worth checking out.

The Grotto – Watering Hole Menu with Prices 303 S Ashley St, Ann Arbor

Neat place to have a beer with three different rooms and a very small patio. The largest “room” is really just a vinyl covered portion of the sidewalk next to the bar. It’s like a heated greenhouse. They have a good selection of craft beers and hard liquor too. They do not serve food, just popcorn. Their audio system for music is better than any other I’ve ever heard in a bar. They have custom built speakers mixed with high quality outdoor speakers. They play a thoughtful variety of recorded music at the right volume – loud enough to hear and enjoy but not too loud to make it hard to talk. The bar tenders here also know their beer so they can tell you about the selections and even help you pick one if you’re not sure what to get.

Beer Study-Durham – Menu with Prices – 2501 University Dr ste 4, Durham

A beer establishment for adults. After a really unpleasant experience at another local beer establishment that’s become a playground, I was very pleased with my experience at Beer Study. There’s a very grown-up and sophisticated atmosphere at Beer Study compared to other local breweries. It’s a smaller place that most, so it’s kind of cozy. It’s a combination of brewery and bottle shop so there’s lots of stuff on tap but also a large selection of brews that you can take home. They also have game room in the back with some classic video games and pinball machines which is always a plus. Their game room is also a space used to entertain private parties. They also have live music on the weekend sometimes, which is a nice touch. They also have TV’s for all the sports games people enjoy watching. I’m not even much of a brewery person, but this place has a vibe I can get into. It’s also located close to a handful of really good restraunts to eat at since they don’t serve food themselves. Recommenced for those looking to have a drink in a quieter environment.

Kilowatt Brewing Oceanside Taproom & Provisions – Menu with Prices – 406 Mission Ave, Oceanside

I checked out this tasting room yesterday with some friends and was completely blown away by the beer, the atmosphere and the service. It’s a perfect fit in the Oceanside vibe. I drank the K58 Mexican Lager, the Dopplebock, tasted a few others and they were all 5 star beers. My friends all raved about what they were drinking too. The games are really fun to play and could act as the perfect ice breakers if you are by yourself or with a group looking to find new friends. There is a movie theater directly across the street which will make date night that much better. I didn’t get a chance to try the food this time but that is a great option to have when you’re enjoying a brew. The two beertenders that were behind the bar last night (Rachel and Justina) were super friendly, funny and very informative on the beer choices. Customer service is key in the tasting room experience which can either make or break that experience and the two beertending last night definitely made the beer tasting experience very enjoyable. This new tasting rooms decor is already super psychedelic looking and I was told that it will only become even more mind bending with days to come. I already can’t wait to return.
