I contacted Vintage Catering to cater a 40 person memorial at my home for my Grandmother last week. When I said I thought we’d have 36 and should I round up to 45 or so, she said 40 would be fine and it was more than fine since only 30 showed. They worked with me on ideas for what to serve and even supplied some gluten free bread and cookies for my guests who needed it. I wasn’t home when they set up, a friend was, but everything was delivered on time. The food was MORE than enough for even 40 people, as I found out. We still had three gallon bags full of potato salad plus 3 gallon bags of pasta salad leftover, as well as one full dessert platter out of two left (especially liked the brownies), 7 gallon bags full of bread (which was so fresh and delicious and large portions!), plus a gallon baggie full of lunch meat (I got compliments on the salami), half a gallon bag assorted cheese and some veggie and fruit platter were leftover as well. They were very generous with portions for sure. I got multiple comments on how fresh and tasty everything was. The condiments were great and varied, especially the roasted veggies I’m told, and it was so nice not to have to make anything myself or worry about food for my Grandmother’s memorial. I can’t attest to pricing because I didn’t shop around but it seemed about right for what was provided and the high quality. I chose Vintage Catering because they are local and had good yelp reviews and I can emphatically say that I would use them again for any event in the future. Thank you so much Gloria, for taking one huge task off my plate that day.

Sahara Mediterranean Cuisine Menu with Prices 5661 Hamilton Blvd #3, Allentown

My wife and I ate here for the first time, and had a great experience. The servers were very helpful and personable, as well as welcoming when we walked in. We ordered the appetizer sampler (fried cauliflower, chicken shawarma, hummus, and grape leaves), which tasted fresh, very warm, and had large portions. Our entrees also came with large portions and freshly cooked food. My wife had the chicken kabob platter, while I got the beef and lamb kabob platter. Both came with a generous portion of hummus and pita bread (which was brought out first to us), a salad, grilled vegetables, and rice. This was definitely an awesome find! Very nice people, quality authentic food, and large portions for a reasonable price!

A Taste of Italy – Menu with Prices – 1101 S College Rd, Wilmington

I have had many of Italian subs from many places and nothing beats this place! Homemade bread, fresh sliced meats, huge portions, and just delicious!! I have never saw such a heaping pile of meat! Their chicken salad is one of the top chicken salads in Wilmington. Their macaroni and anti pasta salad is also amazing. Pricing is right where it should be. I have not had their pasta but have heard it was wonderful. They have a deli, grocery items, and a place to eat there. I usually get my food to go. Their breakfast sandwiches are also very good. I recommend this place for catering, too!

Kabob & Gyro Grill – Menu with Prices – 5005 Foothills Blvd #3A, Roseville

Kabob & Gyro Grill seems to have found a much-needed niche in Roseville, as they have joined just a handful of restaurants in town that offer a full menu of Mediterranean favorites. I actually visited this fine restaurant last year, but I’m only just now getting around to posting it on Yelp. The menu is placed behind the counter. In typical taquieria style, you make your selection from the menu board, pay for it, and your food is delivered to your table. No tips are expected, although they do have a tip jar on the counter. I was so impressed at the fast and friendly service, along with the outstanding lunch I enjoyed, that I stuffed a couple of bucks into the tip jar, as these guys do an outstanding job. There are so many delicious choices on the menu, that it’s almost mind-boggling, but I chose the Mediterranean Platter, as I was hungry, and it sounded delicious. The menu says the following about the Mediterranean Platter, “All platters come with basmati rice served with a side of salad, side of hummas, side of tzatziki sauce (Cucumber sauce) and a hot piece of pita bread. Mediterranean Platter features slices of grilled chicken.” Quite a modest description for such a delicious meal! Where shall I begin… Note the beautiful presentation of the meal, including the onion slices, and the garnish on the hummas and the tzatziki. When you order, you have your choice of three levels of spiciness: Mild, medium, or spicy. Mild is the “default,” unless you ask your server otherwise. I chose medium, with was just right for me, as it offered just a little “kick,” but didn’t leave me craving for water to put out the heat. The marinated chicken was placed on the rice, which made for a delicious main entree. The salad was chilled and fresh, the pita bread was hot and fresh, and the hummas and tzatziki sauce was fantastic. I dipped my pita bread in the hummas, and used the tzatziki sauce as dressing for my salad. Such a delicious lunch! My only criticism, and it’s very minor, is they don’t serve beer, as it would be enjoyable to enjoy an exotic Mediterranean brew with this delicious meal, but that’s not a deal breaker, and the next time I visit this fine restaurant, I pan to enjoy a mango lassi. I rate this fine restaurant a solid four stars, as the food is delicious, reasonably priced, and the staff is efficient and friendly. I’m a “foodie” and I’ve posted HUNDREDS of my restaurant adventures, all over the west, and parts of Mexico, on my web site. Check it out at www

Hawwi Ethiopian Restaurant Menu with Prices 1125 Queen St, Alexandria

A solid 3 and 1/2 stars. The good – This place is spacious, has air conditioning and looks clean, it looks more like a fine dining Ethiopian restaurant. They provide bottled water, which I appreciated. Most of the food we tasted had a good level of spice to it and tasted fresh. The green chutney provided, was much appreciated. The lady that brought our food to us was very welcoming. The bad – our male waiter bearly spoke to us, only to take orders, most of the time he was around the back. The portions could have been better with our combi 4 platter we got small portions of two beef dishes, and 2 small portions of veg. dishes (which we could choose) I chose red lentils and potatoes and cabbage. I enjoyed the red lentil, but the potatoes and cabbage was bland. They were also miserly with the injera, previously when I’ve ordered combo platters at other Ethiopian restaurants, they put a full injera with dishes on top then also provide you with another injera cut up on the side. With this platter they put the dishes on a quarter piece of injera and provided one on a separate plate, then charged you $2 for each additional one you ordered, so felt a little duped The ugly – the chocolate cake we ordered for dessert was definitely not fresh, it was shop brought, it tasted way too sweet and dry and definitely not worth the $5 we paid. Overall I would say, this place is expensive for what you get. I’ve tasted better quality Ethiopian food for the price, at other restaurants in DC.

Port of Subs – Menu with Prices – 2601 Windmill Pkwy, Henderson

I have yet to have a bad experience with this port of subs location. The sandwiches are always yummy and fresh as well as the potato salad and macaroni salad sides. The cookies and brownies are delicious, baked from Ghiradelli mix. You can’t go wrong! I’ve used this location for catering and had an awesome experience. The employees here are always helpful and friendly. I’ve never had a bad customer service experience here. They go above and beyond what was expected for a simple catering order in terms of hospitality. For my catering order we tried, a 6 ft sandwich tray. We were able to make into 6 various sandwich combinations to accommodate our guests. All sandwiches came prepared with meat, cheese, lettuce and tomato. Mayo, mayo-mustard, olives, pickles, peppers were all provided on the side. The sandwiches were cut in nice sized portions and were easy finger food for guests to walk around and mingle while munching. Macaroni and potato salad were delicious! Very simple and had no overpowering flavors. We also added on a fruit bowl that included watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew and grapes. The fruit was refreshing and delicious, I was very impressed at the freshness. The catering prices are affordable especially for the quality. Everyone at our event enjoyed the sandwiches. I would definitely use Port of Subs for catering again. I will continue to frequent this location for my sandwich fix as I always leave a happy customer!

Oakwood Baking Co – Menu with Prices – 585 S Waring St, Detroit

Most people who live in the Detroit area have seen the big bakery bags with Oakwood plastered up the side. Some of you may have even got some fresh once or twice. I have purchased these also and they pale in comparison to what that bread is suppose to taste like. The normal Italian bread fresh out of the oven has a perfectly crispy outside and a fluffy chewy inside… the perfect italian bread. The bakery is a big house in a neighborhood near bayside (last area in southwest Detroit before you reach Melvindale). The area is a bit sketchy, but for good bread, there isn’t much I won’t do. As soon as you step out of your car you realize how blessed this small city block is. To walk out of your house every morning only to be greeted by the most wonderful smell of bread must be heaven! Walking into the bakery can be a little confusing. My first time my girlfriend and I nearly gave our selves the full tour before finding any employees. The man who normally helps you is a 50 somethings Italian man with a very very thick accent. There is not much to place though, nothing to browse through, they only make a few types of bread here. Just pick up a few fresh loaves and be on your way. I recommend buy 2 or 3 though because they are dirt cheap ($.50 for day old and 1:50 for fresh) and I have almost eaten a whole loaf on the ride home and I only live 5 minutes away. You have to go early to get the really fresh stuff.

Greek cafe Grill – Menu with Prices – 4004 Hillsboro Pike #100r, Nashville

My roommate and I were yelping for an inexpensive place to go to for dinner when we stumbled across this restaurant. I’m really glad that we came here since the food was delicious, and the service was great! We were greeted by the friendly staff when we first got there. I ordered the chicken shawerma platter, which came with rice, salad, and pita. The chicken was tender, and the rice was flavorful. I really loved the tzatziki that they put on top of the chicken and rice. The greek salad and warm pita were great additions as well. The portions were pretty generous, and I ended up taking half of my meal home (hooray for lunch tomorrow!) I am looking forward to trying their wraps or a different platter the next time I come! Don’t forget to get a stamp card (buy 10 meals, and get a free wrap or $5 off) and check in on yelp for a slice of baklava! There’s also the option of paying with cash for a small discount as well.

The Gift Box & Tea Room – Menu with Prices – 3330 Partner Pl # 120, Lexington

Nice little tea room on the other side of the Gift Box gift store. Sandwiches, quiche, salads, and soups are offered, as well as dessert. I had a sampler platter which included quiche, chicken salad, mandarin tea salad (which was basically a jello salad), and friendship bread (a sweet-tasting bread). I also tried the loaded potato soup, but I was not really a fan of that. Many of my friends ordered the sandwiches (pimento cheese, chicken salad, or egg salad) and they looked very good. If you like tea you can purchase hot tea by the pot (small or large). I did not try the desserts, nor did any of my friends. Our server was friendly and attentive.

67 Biltmore Downtown Eatery + Catering Menu with Prices 67 Biltmore Ave, Asheville

67 Biltmore is my favorite place in town for catering. They have a brick and mortar location downtown Asheville which is beautiful and has a great menu but really, their catering is A+! They cater the lunches at my work regularly and every single meal is fresh, healthy and absolutely delicious. They really have a knack for creating food with rich, complex flavors while creating a healthy meal that truly satisfies hunger and is nourishing. Some of my favorite things that they make are the pesto chicken salad, their sweet potato salad, the kale salad (definitely my favorite!), white bean and arugula salad and sesame peanut pasta salad. They also offer cheese and meat platters, slaws, potato salads, bean salads, fruit bowls and wraps. Emily and Adam are so awesome and all of the other staff that I’ve had interactions with have been really friendly as well. Great place, I highly recommend for anyone looking for some awesome catering!

Addeo Bakery – Menu with Prices – 2352 Arthur Ave, The Bronx

Small bakery in the Bronx. We read reviews for the bakeries in the area and it seemed like this might be the best one to pick up some bread for dinner. My inlaws love fresh bread and cheese and I knew they would appreciate good fresh baked bread. When you look in the window you see a bunch of different loaves of bread. It makes it hard to choose. We went with three. They are all so delicious. Like seriously some of the best bread I have ever eaten. I wasn’t alone, my wife’s whole family loved this bread and raved about it. I have only eaten them with butter but I intend on making garlic bread with one loaf and grilled cheeses and French toast tomorrow with the leftover bread. The lady working inside was super nice. I asked her for a recommendation and she showed me what most people buy there. It was one of the three that I was selecting. This place is a must if you are in the area and are looking for killer Italian bread. All three loaves cost $10 which was totally worth it. The loaves of bread are really big. This bakery also smells amazing. There is metered parking all around so your best bet is to drive up to the bakery and just look for parking.

Roman’s Deli & Catering Menu with Prices 75 Haywood St, Asheville

Dropped by Roman’s for lunch today for a quick sandwich with the kid and wife. If you’re a lover of all things deli – house made meats, unique sandwiches, pastrami, fresh breads, salads, soups – look further. This place is very much a flat ‘okay’ but nothing to write home about. Yes, they sell sandwiches. They are okay. Don’t expect Katz’s here. I ordered the Italian sandwich – a full sandwich on sandwich bread (che cosa?) rather than a hoagie or Italian roll. It came blasphemously spread with mayo, but I’m cool with that since I always taint my Italian subs with the sweet nectar of Holland. It was served Panini style with ham, hot capicola, hard salami, sharp provolone, tomato, red onion, pepperoni, but confusingly with lettuce in a hot panini – ok, whatever. I think there was one slice of each meat. Ok, par. Not your typical Italian sub which would have been served cold on a roll, but on the whole it was enjoyable, though small. All full sandwiches are served with a pickle (they forgot mine) and a side – I chose fruit salad. The fruit salad was a mix of strawberries, pineapple and orange slices – quite fresh and nice. I also ordered a fresh unsweetened ice tea (get behind me Diabetes!). For our little man, we got a grilled cheese and side of fruit salad – he enjoyed it. It was all very much fine but at a whopping $12 for one sandwich (rent aint cheap on Haywood St), I think I’ll pass on another round. This place is just fine, not amazing and neither worth avoiding nor seeking out. There are better options within a rocks throw of this place and as deli’s go, it was just missing some glaringly obvious menu items like pastrami or Reuben or corned beef. No soups. No bread options. I dunno, is this a deli? I may give their extensive burger a shot (spoiler alert: delis don’t actually server burgers, but whatever). They looked pretty good.

Café Mezzo Menu with Prices 2442 Telegraph Ave, Berkeley

My love for Cafe Mezzo goes way back to my undergrad days (â??99-â??03). It used to called Cafe Intermezzo but sadly it perished in a fire. They rebuilt and itâ??s still just as awesome. This restaurant offers a large variety of very healthy and fresh salads. My favorite is the Veggie Delight. It comes with a generous portion of fresh sprouts, which is really rare these days. The poppyseed dressing is the absolute best. A word of warning, the portions are so big, that if you order a full-size salad, you will likely need to share with someone or take part of it home. The salad that you see in my photo is actually a half sized salad. The area has street parking, however it is frequently very busy. I recommend coming on off hours in terms of seating and arriving earlier in the day will offer cleaner tables..
