I have been here multiple times but after tonight I am regretfully writing this review as I feel that the experience my party received was insulting and inexcusable. I arrived at brass tap tonight (Sun. 02/24) around 8:30pm with my s/o and informed the server that we would be having a larger group but I wasn’t sure how many. The restaurant was almost completely empty and she said it would be no issue. It ended up being 8 of us (all currently in or previously in the restaurant industry) showing up to congregate for a very solemn occasion. We wanted a quiet, laid back environment to grab some food and drinks in. We were SORELY disappointed. It took our server 15 minutes to even grab a drink order from us. ANOTHER 10-15 minutes for our drinks to even start arriving at the table. We literally watched the server through the window texting away on her cellphone as we waited for our drinks. When she arrived with the drinks we asked if we could order food. At this point i had already realized our service would be very slow (even though the place was empty) and I decided to order a second drink with my food even though I had just received my first. I’m glad I did that because not once throughout the meal did the server ask ANYONE if they would like a refill. My food arrived (I ordered the super wrap or whatever it’s called) but I was brought the super salad instead. I informed the server that this was not what I had ordered and she promised to fix the issue. About 7 minutes later she returned with my wrap. Upon examination (before taking a single bite) I realized that there was no chicken in this wrap. I told the server that I was sorry to be a pain but the wrap seems to be the exact same salad just rolled into a tortilla when the wrap listed on the menu comes with chicken. She told me it was a NEW salad but they just didn’t add chicken…. (why was no chicken added??? It’s listed SPECIFICALLY on the menu as a part of that wrap!) at this point I just asked her to take the food back and remove it from the bill. I shouldn’t have to send food back twice. It’s embarrassing for BOTH of us. The manager came over asking if she could get me anything else and I declined. I was already disappointed and had no interest in eating anymore. She insisted on buying me a drink which was very kind and at that point I decided that I would not be posting on yelp about this experience due to the manager trying to remedy the situation. That changed quickly. The food was terrible for everyone who received it “correctly”. Brussels sprouts had no bacon and were dripping grease. The ahi Niçoise salad came with no dressing, looking an absolute mess. What were described as crispy sweet potatoes on the salad were just freezer burned sweet potato fries. The chicken tenders were somehow so over cooked that they were HARD all the way through. Not once did she return to ask how the food was. My friend asked the server for a water and several others followed suit. The server returned with water for everyone EXCEPT the one who originally asked to begin with then ran off before we could even point it out. We ended up sharing waters. When it was time to cash out the server cashed ONE PERSON out then went M.I.A. for another 15 minutes. Someone from our party had to go find her to ask her if we could cash out. She comes and cashes everyone out EXCEPT the girl who actually went in and asked her! After returning with change she tried to leave and I actually had to ask if she planned or cash my friend out or if we should just leave. For such a slow, empty restaurant these issues were RIDICULOUS. Our drink tabs would have been at least double but most people didn’t have a chance to order more than one drink since she never asked for refills. We are also very generous tippers but she ruined that opportunity. Being in the service industry we give good service and expect it in return. We did NOT receive that tonight and there was NO excuse for how absolutely horrible it was. I usually

Keke’s Breakfast Cafe – Menu with Prices – 2427 SW 27th Ave, Ocala

My wife and I tried Keke’s Breakfast Cafe, at lunch, for the first time yesterday, and came away less than impressed. The place was half empty, but were told it would be a couple of minutes before we were seated. To start, the server breezed by us, after we sat, with a “be right back” comment. Five minutes later, she comes back. We ordered iced tea and coffee, which she brought in a timely fashion. We ordered a vegetable wrap and a portobello panino. For the next 25 minutes we waited, with no sign of our server, except at one point we had to flag down the manager to ask for drink refills, but didn’t mention the wait yet. The server brought our drinks and then disappeared again. Finally, the food arrived. The panino was excellent. The vegetable wrap was mediocre at best. They used veggies diced small like one uses in an omelet, which mostly fell out as It was eaten. As we’re eating, the server asks if we’d like drink refills and then forgot to bring them until reminded (no, Oh I’m sorry, just ok I’ll get them.) Bottom line, One good meal, one poor meal and bad service. We’ll give them a try for breakfast and see if it’s better.

JT’s Bar & Grill – Menu with Prices – 3301 Washington Ave Ste 110, Newport News

Went to Brunch on Sunday and spent an hour and a half in this establishment. Even so, I am unable to tell you how the food was, because we never received any. During that time, we received ONE round of drinks…. so let’s start from the beginning. Came to the restaurant and was greeted and sat. The restaurant was busy, but well staffed, and there was not a wait to get a table. We sat there for 15 MINUTES before someone came to get our drink orders. I would have said something, but my sister knows one of the owners, and came to show support for the new business, so I kept quiet. The waitress herself was friendly. Got everyone waters, and took drink orders. Our drink order was one mimosa, and one Hennessy & Ginger Ale. That’s it…… why did that take another 10 minutes to receive those?… So we get our drinks. By the time she came back to take our order, the drinks were gone, and we were ready for a second round. (At this point, we’ve been here almost an hour now) 3 of us order steak and eggs, one of us order Waffles, and we put in our second drink order. At this time, tables were beginning to close out checks, and there were about 3 or 4 empty tables in the restaurant. So we were optimistic in the fact that now that we’ve finally been able to place our order, the food would come out quickly…. WRONG We wait ANOTHER 20 minutes, and a server walks over to us and let’s us know that our meal is going to be another 20 minute wait because they don’t have any steaks thawed to make our meal. I said “Well, we’ve already been waiting almost an hour and a half” and she says “I know, thats why I’m over here.” ……… Not an apology, not a manager coming over to let us know they’re aware, just a “do you still want it or no?” So at this point, we havent received another round of drinks, havent got any food, and the handling of the entire thing is piss poor. So we ask them to cancel the order, and to get our tab so we can pay for the 2 measly drinks we received 3 light years ago. Couple of important side notes: I was a server for 3 years. I am very aware of what goes on behind closed doors, and how it is when a restaurant is busy. I am the last to EVER complain and tip MORE when I see servers and managers busting their butts to ensure a great experience. HOWEVER, we watched people that came in AFTER us, recieve their food, so what was up with that? We were also told the reason our steaks were going to take so long, is because they needed to thaw from the freezer…….I just can’t. There was more than enough staff to handle the smaller sized restaurant, and 2 drinks that have 2 ingredients each should not take 10 minutes to make. And 10 minutes to carry over to a table. I would have loved to give this place another chance, but after watching the way management handled the situation, they’re forever crossed off my list of places to go. Good service can save any restaurant, and you just don’t have that.

Yen Sushi & Sake Bar – Menu with Prices – 17037 N 43rd Ave #A3, Glendale

Mediocre overpriced sushi, overpriced menu and under par customer service. I visited Yen for lunch the other day with my mother. Upon entering the (dark) restaurant, the server yelled from the POS system asking if we had two people. Like what???? Why didn’t you greet us first? No hello nothing. Jesus! Anyway- There was plenty of open seating and she sat us in a dark corner(really??).. I asked to sit at a different table and it was no problem. She gave us the menus, asked for our drink orders and left. No explanation of any lunch specials (which is why we went by the way) or any recommendations.. after we ordered I realized why she wasn’t very customer service oriented.. she was chilling behind the pos desk on her phone- she didn’t really want to be there, let’s be real. So fast forward to when the food arrived– my mom ordered her food first BTW. I received my food first and shared with my mom because hers didn’t arrive for like 10 minutes. Then I realized I still hadn’t received the cucumber salad I ordered. So I waited a few minutes for the server to glance in my direction and of course she didn’t so I walked up to the station (interrupted her text convo. or Ig scroll) and asked if she could please remember to put in the salad I ordered. She apologized which was nice but it still was underwhelming. The tab was pretty high for lunch specials and to top it off, both mine and my mother had upset stomachs that evening. Don’t waste your time- or just go and see for yourself. ?

The Butcher Shop Beer Garden & Grill – Menu with Prices – 209 6th St, West Palm Beach

Great ambiance and courtyard. Full craft beer bar which is also nice. However, the service at this place was non existent. After 10 minutes our waitress came over to introduce herself, she then said that she would be back to take our drink order, 10 more minutes comes back and asked us if we wanted drinks? After approximately 10 more minutes we received our drinks, 2 out of the 4 were absolutely wrong (how can you not know the difference between a lager and an ipa?). She then made us wait another 5 minutes for the exchange. So, in 35 minutes (while waiting at the table) we only received our drinks. Once we finally ordered, our food came out and it was another disaster. Two of the steaks were so well done (when everyone at the table ordered rare). Imagine that. In addition, every drink including our waters was empty when the food came out. Now we had no drinks, 2 wrong plates, 2 cold dishes while we waited for them to re-do the other two steaks and the waitress never even apologized. I can only see this place being in business for a few more month before it?s gone. I am not sure if the owners are aware of what a debacle customers are experience, but I had to share my experience because they could and should be doing better. By far one of the worst reviews that I could ever imagine writing for what could easily have been a five star experience. Sad.

Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews – Menu with Prices – 27001 US Hwy 19 N #1130, Clearwater

I ordered the Royal burger with lettuce wrap and substituted the fries with a salad. They brought my salad out with the burger. Come on Red Robin, salads come out before the hot food. I should have asked my server to be sure and bring first but I forgot. I used to be a server. At my restaurant we were trained to ask in this situation if they want their salad before the entree. So I asked them to take my burger back to the kitchen until I finished my salad.

The Kitchen Table at Relish – Menu with Prices – 5629 Creedmoor Rd, Raleigh

I wanted to like this place and it really didn’t meet expectations throughout the whole experience. This is due mainly to lack of service we encountered. The whole idea they have going for this restaurant is genius but service will make or break the experience. We came this past Sunday and we got seated immediately in a booth along the bar. The bar had two couples and a solo person and it turned out that our waiter was actually the bartender. He came over to get our drink order a few minutes after we sat down and then a family was seated shortly after, right behind us. They had a completely different server whose only tables were actually tables and not the bar as well. They ordered their drinks, received the drinks and proceeded to order their food before we even got our drinks. Mind you, we were there first and also ordered our drinks as they were being seated. Fast forward to getting the food and playing our game, our server never came to check on us once. We constantly had to flag servers that were coming by to get some jelly, napkins etc. I got a sweet tea and my cup remained empty 85% of our time there. Eating a biscuit without a drink is not an ideal situation. My husband also asked for a water and he proceeded to fill other beer orders before bringing him the water (took about ten minutes and the bar had also cleared out but he was playing on his cell phone) I received one refill from our server and that was when he saw we were finished with our food and asked if we were ready for the check. We then get our check and put our card inside waiting for him to come and get it. Never happened but there was a lady standing towards the front, I’m assuming manager or owner who stood at the front before coming over about five minutes later to get our check. After this, our server quickly brought the check back to ensure we are leaving. (Vibe we got). To make the visit even worse, we go to leave and there are two employees standing at the front in a conversation and neither one told us to have a good day or thanks for coming. Working in customer service, this is impolite and doesn’t leave a good taste. Pros: Concept is great while eating and having multiple games to choose from during your time Cons: Lack of service for our visit. I did notice those that had an actual server and not the bartender were actually given the service that you would expect at a restaurant. Food is ‘ok’ nothing that stands out and would make you crave another day. Biscuit was very crumbly and I could not finish my sandwich due to the biscuit falling apart. First impressions are everything and I doubt we will be back for a very long time. I really hate to say that because I wanted to enjoy this place and come on the weekends but there are plenty of other niche places in Raleigh to go with great service.

Big Top Brewing Company Gainesville – Menu with Prices – 201 SE 2nd Ave #101, Gainesville

***This review does not include alcoholic drinks. It seems to me the brewery is amazing and the drinks are fantastic based upon comments from friends who drink here. This review is about the food and the general establishment.*** When the 4 of us arrived, it was somewhat empty at 6:30 pm, and we were seated immediately. The instant we sat down, the server oddly asked if we were ready to order. After requesting more time, I chose a Caesar salad and a chicken taco, the special of the evening. I asked for no added cilantro on the taco (side note: I don’t hate cilantro, but I like it in small doses). There were several awkward moments with the server during ordering. She was very nice, but did not know a lot about the menu or what was available as we were ordering. It took 30-45 minutes for the food to come out even though it was fairly empty. First came the taco: the flavor was great, with moist seasoned chicken, chipotle flavors in the sauce, and sour lime notes. However, they gave me a corn tortilla instead of the wheat I requested, and they left off the pico because there is cilantro in it. The other strange thing was the Caesar salad (see attached photo). First, the lettuce was romaine, but it was shredded greens and did not include the center rib. Secondly, the dressing came on the side and the salad was on a flat plate. Allow me to over-analyze for a moment: Caesar dressing is very heavy and creamy. It needs a sturdy and watery lettuce to help hold and distribute the dressing evenly. It also needs to be tossed thoroughly in a bowl so that you do not have gobs of dressing in sections of the salad. I have to say that it was the least pleasurable Caesar salad I have eaten in a long time. It turns out the server made these decisions for me without asking me: leaving off the pico, and putting the dressing on the side. As someone who has worked in the service industry, I have been trained to ask what people want, even if it is strange and nonsensical. You cannot make a unilateral decision about the food someone else is paying for and eating. Finally, be cautious when paying the bill. They use a handheld system at the table to place your order and cash you out. When you pay the bill, they automatically add a TWENTY-FIVE percent tip to the order unless you choose otherwise. It is NOT clear on the screen they are doing this, and you are not given an itemized bill to double check before you pay. So, fair warning, ask for an itemized bill prior to the server checking you out. The executive summary: Come here for drinks and choose the food wisely. Be very clear with the staff regarding your preferences. Ask for an itemized bill and watch the tip when checking out.

Liberty Diner – Menu with Prices – Newark Liberty International Airport, Terminal B Gates Level Concourse, Newark

Well, we did actually have a bunch of time to kill so it wasn’t a total nightmare but I can truthfully say that this may be the slowest service I’ve ever received at any full service restaurant EVER. It started off promisingly enough…we were seated in a cute booth and the tunes were a nice accompaniment to the retro diner styling. Our drink orders were taken quickly but that’s when things started to get weird. The adult alcoholic beverages were brought about 12 minutes after ordering and we were told the waters and sodas were coming right up. During the time we were waiting for our server to come back, an additional server stopped by and asked if we wanted to order something to drink. We told him we were waiting for our other drinks and already had a server. A manager stopped by as well and it was clear we were still waiting on our drinks and asked if we were ready to order. We were, but mistakenly thought we’d wait until our server came back with the waters and soda to do so. Eventually she brought the other drinks and took our order for food. 14 minutes after we ordered, the manager came back and ask if two of us would like to order something else because the items we ordered were not prepped. We said we would wait and they were able to get all the meals out together in another 15 minutes. We had to ask for silverware and ketchup and were told they had been busy earlier and had run out and they had to prepare more. Sigh. The food was fine…nothing amazing but certainly acceptable . We indicated we were finished and were told that our server would be back to pick up our plates shortly thereafter but it took about 10 minutes for her to return, clear the plates and give us our check. We went to pay and after we gave our card she realized that the check was incorrect and then went to correct it and brought back a check that was $12 more than the original. Because the payment was done on a mobile device she asked us if we would be tipping and how much. Odd. If an apology had been offered and a free drink or food item had been offered, I probably would be feeling a lot better about this place. I totally get we were at the airport but wow, this was pretty epic in its overall incompetence. Peace.

New Daily Bagel – Menu with Prices – 309 S Washington Square, Lansing

Initially one of my favorite places to have lunch delivered with my coworkers, but I will NEVER order from them AGAIN! Ordered a chicken salad wrap on tomato basil wrap and it was 2/3 stuffed with tomatoes(which I didn’t order.. only the wrap pita was supposed to be tomato flavored), some lettuce, and maybe a spoonful of chicken salad. When I contacted the business, the employee asked the manager what could be done and the manager told him nothing could be done. Have they heard of customer service? That’s not it. Obviously they don’t care about their regulars or losing business by fixing their mistakes.

California Chicken Grill – Menu with Prices – 3225, 1904 W Pensacola St, Tallahassee

I always choose CCG when I’m headed home or want a quick bite to eat and their service isn’t that great but food is always good so I keep coming back. Tonight though, I experienced the worst customer service of my life. I walked in and saw their were about 5 people waiting for the food. I also walked in while the Bite Squad delivery driver was arguing with an employee about how this is the 3rd time they have given him the wrong food. She hands him the meal and he kept saying “I’m missing something”. She then goes back and adds the missing wrap. He then goes to her again saying “Mam, this is still incorrect.” While this conversation is going on, I ask the cashier if I could place an order while he blatantly ignores me. I then say, “excuse me” and he replies aggressively, can you hold on?”. So I sat there….for 5 minutes…waiting to order. I finally asked someone else if I could order through them. Two employees looked at each other and said “uhhh hold on” and both disappeared to the back. I’ve now waited 20 minutes and still haven’t ordered. I decided to just order online, as that is an option. I see my order pop up on the screen and I’m waiting…waiting…waiting 30 minutes later and I finally ask how long my food was going to take. She asked me which one was mine and I repeated it to her and she goes “oh my bad I forgot to tell him I got a online order I’ll get it started now”. At this point I’m shocked and pissed so I told her to forget it and drove through a fast food restaurant instead. I never get good service here but tonight was another level. While the food may be ok and satisfying, it is not worth the hassle I went through tonight just for some chicken and rice. Can’t say I will come back here any time soon.

Lupe Tortilla – Menu with Prices – 3131 Regent Blvd, Irving

When we first arrived here, we were excited to try the food because it had good reviews. We were already warned her reviews that the customer service there was quite lacking. We stood at the hostess stand for a minute before they even acknowledged that that we existed. Even then the host merely said how many and thrust the menus at a another host who set us right next to the kitchen. Are we just came by and took our drink order, but didn’t even stay long enough to see if my husband wanted an additional water or drink with his alcoholic beverage. She rushed off in about 10 minutes later finally came with both of our drinks. Once we got our drinks however she disappeared for another 10 minutes or so. We kept trying to find her so we could flag her down to let her know that we were ready to order. After she finally stopped back at the table we were letting her know what kind of food we wanted to order, and it was like she could not wait to get away from our table. She wasn’t explaining anything, and every time that I said something I felt ignored. After she rushed off again without even checking to see if we needed refills on anything. We saw a woman walking around bringing food to guest. She was wearing a chef jacket so we assume that she might be in the kitchen. We looked at each other and said well I guess they must be short-staffed. After waiting over 30 minutes for the food to come out, mind you this is nearly an hour after we arrived, with empty drinks and empty chips. And my husband and I were talking about leaving and just paying for what we had in front of us. We finally were able to wrote down somebody, as our server had not checked on us at all during that time and ask them if he could please bring the manager over to our table. When he was going to her what the issue was, and she apologized. She let us know that our food was done and they try to bring it to the table. But at this point we were already tired and frustrated and not interested in staying. The server’s brought out the food a second time and she insisted that we at least try the food, and that we would not be paying for any of it because of the horrible experience that we had had. We told her we didn’t mind paying for it but she insisted. We decided to give them a chance, and while we both agree that the food is good, not great but definitely worth getting for takeout. The service is terrible, and it is not worth sitting down at the restaurant. My husband and I have mutually decided that we will not be going back to this location.

Kumori Sushi & Teppanyaki – Palms Crossing – Menu with Prices – 3300 W Expy 83 Suite 145, McAllen

I just finished having dinner there, and service is always mediocre, but tonight was by far the worst service of all time! They sat us fairly quickly when we got there. And there was a little rush going on. The restaurant was pretty full. They sat us, and our waiter didn’t come around for at least 20 minutes. When he finally did, he didn’t even introduce himself, just asked, “what do you want to drink?” 10 minutes later, comes out w the waters, drops them off and rushes off. Comes back 15 minutes later. During these 15 minutes, I decide to go ask the “BARTENDER” at the bar if the Cucumber Martini has actual cucumber puree, or if they use a flavored syrup. He doesn’t understand my question, had to ask another server what they make their drink out of. My question was answered, so I go back to my seat to order w my server. Finally, our server comes back, asks what we’d like to order, I ask if they have TOFU at the sushi bar, And of course, He doesn’t know, so he has to go ask someone. Ya’ll dont. – okay, so I just order yakisoba w/ veggies. And rice with veggies. Oh yeah, and I ordered that Cucumber martini w the delicious puree. Food came out at a decent time, But I never got the martini, I never got the rice w veggies. He asks later if everything’s okay.. I tell him what I didn’t get, but to just forget it.At this point. I’m just kinda in disbelief w the forgetfulness of this server. And final, when we get the receipt, we get charged for the rice I never got. I normally dont leave reviews. But this was just WAY TOO MUCH! The server not knowing about certain items, Taking forever bringing drinks, Not bringing certain drinks, Charging us items he never brought. Not bussing the table, Heck, I think the manger was the one taking our dishes back.. The” bartenders” lack of knowledge on items ya’ll serve all day every day, like a freaking cucumber martini. It was very disappointing experience. More than ever before. Definitely not going back.
