The pub at 1802, we stop in almost every Wednesday for the last five weeks. Good drinks, good food, decent service. Tonight, what the hell happened? Started out joking with our server, Samantha, having a good time. Twenty minutes later, “oh, the bartender hasn’t gotten your drinks out yet.” Order food, thirty minutes later, forgot one of the sandwiches ordered. Brussels sprouts, burnt. My fish and fries were at best Luke warm. What the hell took so long to get. Server, “it’s the kitchens fault.” Okay, who forgot our silverware and to check in if we needed more drinks? Missing sandwich comes out maybe eight minutes later. Brussels sprouts go from a plate full to a cup full. No damage control. The manager, or the guy I think is the manager is doing shots at the table next to ours, never intervenes. Bills come, only one was correct, the others, had specials at regular prices. One was triple what it should have been. Finally, after very little bitching from our table, “hope you have a good rest of your night.” No apologies about anything, no comp for the missing reordered sandwich, no explanation on how the Brussels sprouts go from a full order to a cup full. The only thing I can say is we had six people, five cars in an otherwise empty parking lot, and that table and that parking lot will be empty next week and the next and the next. DISAPPOINTING!

Dragon Warrior Noodle – Menu with Prices – 800 N Main St #420, McAllen

Today temperature was in the high 30s and a hot soup sounded perfect. There was a line but plenty of seats available. We ordered at the bar and yes you need to get our own silverware, straws, and refills. They give you a number to place on the table much like whataburger. We order Brussels sprouts as an appetizer and 2 bowls. They took our number when they brought out the Brussels sprouts. Another 15 minutes goes by and we see everyone else getting food who sat down after us. We asked where our food was and it was very clear they had forgot about our food. Someone came by and said they are working on our food after 30 minutes of waiting. We waited patiently and 42 minutes later I finally get my dragon warrior bowl. I ordered chicken and they brought me pork. Did I eat it? Yes I was hungry and I couldn’t wait another 40 plus minutes for them to get it right. Was it good? Absolutely not a fan of the pork! The Brussels sprouts were flavorful and I did enjoy them. The soda options they have a good. Please be more courteous that people are stopping here on a lunch break.

Southern National – Menu with Prices – 360 Dauphin St, Mobile

Came to dinner here on the recommendation of a Yelp! friend and it was an absolute home run. What a great find in downtown Mobile. Started with the Sweet Potato and Carrot Soup – which was just DIVINE – and I don’t even use that word. I could eat a bowl, every day, forever. Following that was an order of biscuits and Johnnycakes – that was also wonderful. The biscuits were golden brown and perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy and moist on the inside. You can’t make them better than that. Honestly – they were amazing. I also ordered a salad that I thought was supposed to be a mix of iceberg and Brussels Sprouts. What came out was delicious but – honestly – I did not see or taste the Brussels Sprouts at any point. My conclusion is that I was delivered just the lettuce wedge instead of the lettuce Brussels Sprouts mix. An honest mistake and given the quality of everything else – I’m not allowing that to change my rating. But I would still like to taste their Brussels Sprouts! Accompanying my meal was a Boulevardier and one of their signature drinks – the “Private Tour” – a rum based cocktail where the “rum” is actually a hand selected blend of about four different rums – including Ron Xacapa – that was like an entire rum flight in your mouth. Delicious. My server and bartender was Will who is a masterful maker of fine cocktails and a great conversation partner. Give that man a raise! At the end there was a little lagniappe – a coconut macaroon with lemon icing that was just tasty and just right. And free! Put this on your bucket list of must experience dining spots in Mobile…..

Flagler Village Brewery – Menu with Prices – 551 N Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale

I have been here multiple times but after tonight I am regretfully writing this review as I feel that the experience my party received was insulting and inexcusable. I arrived at brass tap tonight (Sun. 02/24) around 8:30pm with my s/o and informed the server that we would be having a larger group but I wasn’t sure how many. The restaurant was almost completely empty and she said it would be no issue. It ended up being 8 of us (all currently in or previously in the restaurant industry) showing up to congregate for a very solemn occasion. We wanted a quiet, laid back environment to grab some food and drinks in. We were SORELY disappointed. It took our server 15 minutes to even grab a drink order from us. ANOTHER 10-15 minutes for our drinks to even start arriving at the table. We literally watched the server through the window texting away on her cellphone as we waited for our drinks. When she arrived with the drinks we asked if we could order food. At this point i had already realized our service would be very slow (even though the place was empty) and I decided to order a second drink with my food even though I had just received my first. I’m glad I did that because not once throughout the meal did the server ask ANYONE if they would like a refill. My food arrived (I ordered the super wrap or whatever it’s called) but I was brought the super salad instead. I informed the server that this was not what I had ordered and she promised to fix the issue. About 7 minutes later she returned with my wrap. Upon examination (before taking a single bite) I realized that there was no chicken in this wrap. I told the server that I was sorry to be a pain but the wrap seems to be the exact same salad just rolled into a tortilla when the wrap listed on the menu comes with chicken. She told me it was a NEW salad but they just didn’t add chicken…. (why was no chicken added??? It’s listed SPECIFICALLY on the menu as a part of that wrap!) at this point I just asked her to take the food back and remove it from the bill. I shouldn’t have to send food back twice. It’s embarrassing for BOTH of us. The manager came over asking if she could get me anything else and I declined. I was already disappointed and had no interest in eating anymore. She insisted on buying me a drink which was very kind and at that point I decided that I would not be posting on yelp about this experience due to the manager trying to remedy the situation. That changed quickly. The food was terrible for everyone who received it “correctly”. Brussels sprouts had no bacon and were dripping grease. The ahi Niçoise salad came with no dressing, looking an absolute mess. What were described as crispy sweet potatoes on the salad were just freezer burned sweet potato fries. The chicken tenders were somehow so over cooked that they were HARD all the way through. Not once did she return to ask how the food was. My friend asked the server for a water and several others followed suit. The server returned with water for everyone EXCEPT the one who originally asked to begin with then ran off before we could even point it out. We ended up sharing waters. When it was time to cash out the server cashed ONE PERSON out then went M.I.A. for another 15 minutes. Someone from our party had to go find her to ask her if we could cash out. She comes and cashes everyone out EXCEPT the girl who actually went in and asked her! After returning with change she tried to leave and I actually had to ask if she planned or cash my friend out or if we should just leave. For such a slow, empty restaurant these issues were RIDICULOUS. Our drink tabs would have been at least double but most people didn’t have a chance to order more than one drink since she never asked for refills. We are also very generous tippers but she ruined that opportunity. Being in the service industry we give good service and expect it in return. We did NOT receive that tonight and there was NO excuse for how absolutely horrible it was. I usually

Del Real Pub & Grill – Menu with Prices – 6148 Mae Anne Ave, Reno

Let me start off by saying that I’m not one to leave bad reviews. Having been a manager of a restaurant I understand that things happen to the best of us, that said my experience at Baba’s was one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had. We were seated by a pleasant host wearing a large puffy jacket. Tip: if you are cold inside your restaurant odds are your guests are cold as well. Our waiter spilled my water glass all over the table, rather then clean up the mess he pushed it onto the floor and pushed all the ice cubes under the table… weird and dangerous on that type of floor. We ordered crispy Brussels sprouts and chicken wings to start. The sprouts were not roasted and flash fried, they were deep fried and tasted like tissue paper. The chicken wings were the worst! They were not just raw, they were bloody raw! One of the guests at my table actually took the wings back to the kitchen. Raw foods like this are how guests get sick or even die!. Our server also forgot to bring us sauces, not that it mattered at that point. Then came our meals, burger sliders, patty melt, black and blue burger and fish and chips. The sliders were nothing to brag about, the patty melt was really pink, according to my boyfriend the black and blue burger was ok and the fish and chips were less than to be desired. The fish was over cooked and came from a bag, probably from SYSCO if I had to guess. They were not freshly beer battered and the “fresh hand cut fries” were obviously ordered in. The server again forgot the tarter sauce for my fish and forgot to garnish with lemon. At this point we were done. I was shocked we were charged for the wings considering over half were raw. I think it’s worth mentioning that they didn’t even apologize for the raw chicken. He kept thanking us for the opportunity. Sorry to say, this restaurant blew that opportunity big time. I was so excited to eat here reading all the great reviews. I have heard that this place is under new management, they will be lucky to last another month. Would I recommend them? No. Would I ever consider going back? No. My advice? Anywhere but here.

TooJay’s Deli ? Bakery ? Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 2980 N Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale

Very SLOW SERVICE & the food is terrible! Wow, we were so very extremely disappointed with our experience at Toojay’s on Sunday it was our 2nd time coming here and it will be the last time (will not be back!) When we walked in the restaurant we waited 5 minutes to be seated…. and once seated we waited another 20 mins before having to call the hostess back over to let her know that nobody stopped by our table. Looking around it was steady busy but not full packed, there were plenty of tables open and several servers on the floor all walking around slow and leisurely and chit chatting amongst themselves in the corners of the restaurant so there was no excuse not to see a server for 20 mins… Once our server Jill finally stopped by she didn’t greet us warmly or ask us if we’d been there before, she barely looked at us and simply asked if we were ready to order. Then, she took another five minutes standing at our table trying to figure out how to enter the order on the tablet she was holding… very professional service so far… We were very impressed with the menu actually, they had a nice variety of food and plates and the photos looked absolutely delicious. We ordered a side of Latkes and house salad to start, a chipotle bacon burger cooked medium, and the everything salmon. It was the photo of the everything salmon that had my mouth watering to try it since it looked so good… After 30 mins of waiting… the server never came back to check on us and we never received the Latkes or house salad that we ordered. We have never left a restaurant and just walked out before but we were definitely thinking about it at this point… but decided to flag down the hostess again and ask for the food. The server came back 5 mins later and just dropped the food down (no apologies for the wait or anything) and then abruptly left… we realized that: 1. we never got our house salad 2. we never got the side of latkes we ordered 3. she didn’t offer to refill our empty water cups When we flagged her down again (since she never came to check up on us) and asked her about the missing salad and latkes she again didn’t apologize in any way just said “ok I’ll grab them” only she came out with only the house salad – again no latkes. At that point we didn’t care to correct her again we just wanted to eat and leave… So the service so far was ATROCIOUS but the food I have to say was 10X WORSE!! The house salad consisted of browning romaine lettuce in a bowl with one tomato and two slices of cucumber… the burger we ordered medium came out well well done and hard like a rock… the salmon was not edible, it was ungodly salty… the Brussels sprouts were chopped up pieces of Brussels sprouts to dry and bitter it was disgusting. The salmon came with potato latkes that were cold, hard, and had no flavor or seasoning you open them up and it was just chunks of half cooked potatoes inside. I haven’t had such a bad meal in a long long time… and the plate looked nothing like the photo. We decided to stop eating at this point and after having to flag our server down again we asked for the check and saw that we were charged for the side of potato latkes that we never got and when we asked her to remove them from the check once again she did not apologize or try to say sorry that we never got the food we ordered she just walked away without saying anything…. we paid and left. After this terrible experience I will not be back. I’ve received better quality food and service at the McDonald’s around the corner than at this restaurant that charged us $35 for terrible customer service and disgusting food. DO NOT GO, save your money and go literally anywhere else…

Keke’s Breakfast Cafe – Menu with Prices – 2427 SW 27th Ave, Ocala

My wife and I tried Keke’s Breakfast Cafe, at lunch, for the first time yesterday, and came away less than impressed. The place was half empty, but were told it would be a couple of minutes before we were seated. To start, the server breezed by us, after we sat, with a “be right back” comment. Five minutes later, she comes back. We ordered iced tea and coffee, which she brought in a timely fashion. We ordered a vegetable wrap and a portobello panino. For the next 25 minutes we waited, with no sign of our server, except at one point we had to flag down the manager to ask for drink refills, but didn’t mention the wait yet. The server brought our drinks and then disappeared again. Finally, the food arrived. The panino was excellent. The vegetable wrap was mediocre at best. They used veggies diced small like one uses in an omelet, which mostly fell out as It was eaten. As we’re eating, the server asks if we’d like drink refills and then forgot to bring them until reminded (no, Oh I’m sorry, just ok I’ll get them.) Bottom line, One good meal, one poor meal and bad service. We’ll give them a try for breakfast and see if it’s better.

Locanta Local Eatery – Menu with Prices – 864 N Military Trl, West Palm Beach

We’ve eaten here a bunch of times and always rave about it every time! It’s Turkish, it’s small – only 7 tables for 2 and a small bar, it’s very “local”, it’s family run and very informal. The food is simply out of this world!! 1st of all, their crispy Brussels sprouts appetizer is out of control: crispy, served with dried cranberries, slices of great cheese, a great sauce … even if you hate Brussels sprouts, get this dish for sure – I promise! Tonight we tried the falafel balls with warm hummus and pita – that too you just can’t stop eating… we also tried the zucchini pancakes for the 1st time and some said they thought they were the star of the table – simply fantastic! Crispy, fluffy served with fresh tzaziki sauce. That alone would have been fine for dinner but we also shared a meat lovers platter for the table and an order of grilled octopus (not on the menu …). It’s all served with great veggies and sauces and pita. At the end they brought out a dish of hot, sweet, dripping baklava! OMG “I’m dyin’ over here!” I’m so full. So, with all that food, the 4 of us shared 2 bottles of their merlot – $80 a couple with generous tip!! You simply HAVE to try this place! Don’t expect decor and be patient with the service: it’s quiet enough to have a conversation and it’s all about the food!

Rise Kitchen & Deli (in Seminole Hard Rock) – Menu with Prices – 5223 Orient Rd, Tampa

Wow. Usually, I feel extremely bad about leaving horrible reviews anywhere but, not today. Nope, not today.. My friend and I visited Rise Kitchen & Deli the first time 2 weeks ago, expecting a decent meal, and good customer service from what the check- in told us about good restaurants in the hotel. Wow. Can’t I just say when we first got there, we waited 10 minutes to be greeted. Outright, The service was despicable. She forgot our drinks, didn’t bring out my side salad, no refills, food took 47 minutes from order. Then tells us she forgot our order! She had literally 3 tables including us. It was me and my friend and we were splitting loaded chips and a burger! Easiest table ever!!! How do you forget? Who do you people hire??? Certainly not well trained or experienced servers. We went at 1am! It was NOT busy. Then when we BEGGED. For the check it took another 15 minutes for that! We even told the manager who came by and she just acted like this happens all the time just saying “sorry she’s new” lol like what? Act like you care? The food was OKAY, not bad. However, customer service can really make or break an experience. So.. we came back a few weeks later and said we would give it one more shot and maybe it was just the server cuz the food was OKAY. The chips appetizer was amazing. We Came in at 1 am again, (reason we come so late is because we have been gambling and just want a quick bite to eat before bed) We had a new server she seemed nice, and we thought things would look up. Wrong! The soups took 20 minutes. COLD. Food took 45 minutes. We didn’t see our server at all for Atleast 30 minutes. We ordered Chinese Salad and Cuban sandwich. The server seemed more experienced than the last time but wow! she did not care at all, finally she came back from the kitchen (I guess where she was this whole time??) she dropped are food down and just left. Acting like 45-hour on two not cooked entrees is totally normal. I sat with an empty glass the entire time. Just wanted a new Dr. Pepper, nope. Just from what I’ve noticed, The servers all walk at the slowest speeds possible! They all seem very unhappy. No manager walking around to be seen. Disaster. We couldn’t even complain because there was no LEADER in charge. If there was, I’m sure they were in the back talking and playing around. Multiple tables were asking where there servers were. Anyways, at the end, We didn’t take one bite. We asked for to go boxes and the check which took ANOTHER 15 minutes. I mean I felt like this was a joke at this point. I think this restaurant needs to take a hard look in the mirror. Anyways, We just wanted to go to bed. I’ll say it one more time, they were not busy!!! Listen up Yelpers, So here’s some advice. If you are looking for a quick bite to eat after a full day of gambling. DO NOT COME HERE. You will wait for atleast an hour. I am not kidding. This was twice! This isn’t a fluke anymore. This is them. If you are looking for good service DO NOT COME HERE… One out of the maybe five servers on the floor with out a frown. It’s that bad. Also, there is no take out. Which is why we were forced to sit. We had such a better food experience at Jumbao Noodle, and The Buffet. Heck, even the cocktail servers pretend like they actually care more about you than them. We come to Hard Rock Tampa once a month to gamble and get comped rooms all the time. We will NEVER again be back to this restaurant. Please do something about your horrible staff. Sorry for being so blunt but something had to be said and there is no way we were the only ones to receive this type of experience. We wanted to run out !

THE GIT OUT BAR AND KITCHEN Menu with Prices 4930 S Congress Ave C-304, Austin

Wow, what a fabulous new addition to S. Congress Ave. I kept hearing rumors this place was the bomb. Being a Southie myself I had to check it out. The 3 of us rolled in Friday evening about 7:30. The parking lot was packed. Luckily we found a place around the side. Thanks for the lights. Us girls hate walking in a dark parking lot. We settled in at a table to take a look at the menu. I had heard they had really great food and with so many great choices, it was hard to decide. We started with the potato puffs and Fish tacos. OMG they were sooooo awesome! Fried chicken and brussels sprouts followed. Now, my grandma can fry some chicken but this almost puts her’s to shame. it was Crisp and juicy with tons of flavor. The brussels sprouts had just the right amount of Sriracha. Just a bit of heat but not painful. At the recommendation of one of the bartenders, my friend tried the BLT. Pork belly, lettuce & tomato sandwich. It tasted like we were sitting around a backyard barbecue, it was just that good. The bartender said they smoke the brisket and pork at night and bring it in fresh every day. I can’t remember whether it had pickles and onions on it or not but I was so mesmerized at the flavor of the pork belly I can’t remember what else was on the sandwich. The cocktails were yummy. The staff very attentive. The decor very nice. Such a great addition to South Austin. No $30 small plates (or frou frou food as we call it) here. There were people sitting outside on the deck with dogs. Lots of groups drinking beer. Quite a few taps on the wall. I’m not sure if they’re kid friendly. It seems more of a bar that serves really good food and not the kind of place you want to bring a rambunctious three-year-old. We will most definitely make the Git Out a weekly spot to Git in!!!!!!!!

Famous Toastery Ayrsley – Menu with Prices – 2127 Ayrsley Town Blvd, Charlotte

Iâ??m used to the Tega cay location, which is wonderful. We were happy that they opened one in Ayrsley since is super close to us. BUT, this morning was our third time at this location and we are not impressed. First, turn the AC on itâ??s so hot inside. We were seated in 5 minutes but it took 8 minutes to someone to even acknowledge we were there and get our drink order, 10 more minutes until our server came and got our food order, 25 minutes later we had our food, it took forever I was about to ask them if they forgot to give our order to the kitchen. And it was not just us, a bunch of other people were waiting for a while for their food. We are so used to the Tega cay location that every server stops by your table and refill your drinks and ask if everything is ok, at this location customer service is just bad, we saw our server twice. And they donâ??t serve the corn bread like the other locations, which would make a difference so you can snack while you wait 30 minutes for your food. The food was good, potatoes were not the best, but for a Sunday that was not even that busy, I would expect a little better service. You know what didnâ??t take 30 minutes to get? The check, that took two seconds â?â???. I donâ??t think we will give another try.

Culinerdy Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 524 12th St, Sacramento

I had been wanting to check this place out for a while now, but it’s usually pretty packed and the place is tiny. We decided to take an early lunch on Tuesday to check this place out since I had a BOGO reward on my Five Stars app for them and we were seated right away. Unfortunately the day we decided to come, there appeared to be only 2 people working. Which made service EXTREMELY slow – thank goodness I was with my boss or I probably would have been docked for coming back to work so late! The server explained that you could get any style in grilled cheese, burger or Mac and Cheese form. I decided to go with the Dammit Jim Burger with Brussels Sprouts on the side instead of Fries. My boss ordered the same thing, but with no bun. The burger was good, it was cooked well and I liked the bacon a lot and the Bourbon Bleu Cheese Sauce. I also liked that the produce was more like a slaw rather than big pieces of onions, tomato and lettuce. I was a little worried when I first saw the Brussels Sprouts because they were whole rather than cut in half, but they were cooked perfectly. I didn’t really taste much seasoning on them though other than how they normally taste. It took a very long time to get our check after we were done eating and I know there was only one server, but she never once apologized for the wait. My boss had to go up to the register to pay because it took so long for her to come back and take our payment. I’m also bummed that we never received our free cotton candy that they apparently give with your check. Overall, it wasn’t the best burger I’ve ever had and the service really ruined the experience for me. So come early for lunch or you’ll be waiting for a table during that time and parking sucks since it’s directly on 12th Street! I’m hoping to come back and update my review, I am giving them 3 stars because the food was decent.

Pangea Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 111 S Green River Rd, Evansville

When I initially heard this place sold pizza & Thai food I was a bit thrown off. I came on a Saturday night and the place was PACKED! It’s self seating, so you need to stalk tables and be able to claim it as soon as the previous guests are done eating. We were able to snag 2 small round tables for our group of 9. You place your order at the counter and they give you a number stand to display on your table so the servers know where you are sitting. I never had Detroit style pizza and was very pleased I was able to experience the phenomenon. It tasted even better with Mike’s Hot Honey drizzled all over it! The drunken noodles were also very good. The noodles they served were handmade and you could definitely taste the difference. Although it was not the traditional style of drunken noodles I am accustomed to, I really enjoyed the creativity and the flavors of this version, especially the twisty noodles. I also got an order of Brussels sprouts and they came in a huge bowl. I love Brussels sprouts and was totally ecstatic about the generous portion. They have a bar on the other side where you could order cocktails and other alcoholic beverages and bring them over to your table. The owner of this restaurant is very personable and does many table visits and genuinely cares about the products that he serves. He told me I should try the pistachio pizza the next time I come, which sounds amazing!
