I was just visiting town. Off the beaten path. Looked like a bait shop. Lol. Not what I expected. It didn’t look like a seafoood market from outside. But it was on the canal. Iguanas all over the place outside. Freaked me out. I hear and now see that’s a problem in Ft. Lauderdale/Miami now. I ventured in anyway. Small store. Prices were a bit higher than I expected on popular items like shrimp, snow crab legs. However, they had a good selection of high quality, fresh seafood. Snow crab legs were expensive, $16.99 /lb. I almost choked. But they were large and restaurant quality. So maybe why more expensive. I bought large shrimp. Price was more reasonable. They were definitely excellent quality and fresh. They had frozen and fresh fish which looked very good as well. They were out of blue crabs this day. Which is what I came for. Worth a stop. Just be prepared to pay more for quality.

Simply Steamed – Menu with Prices – 2545 Sandpiper Rd, Virginia Beach

The family was vacationing in Sandbridge for the week and wanted some seafood. Spending all day at the beach and pool, then having to clean up and go to a restaurant just sounded exhausting to us. So we searched around and found this little gem! We were so glad we didn’t have to actually leave Sandbridge to pick up some seafood, since there is a small selection of markets/restaurants in the area. Their placement of this establishment is really genius. I definitely recommend the pots – we built our own so we could create a pot with a little bit of everything in it. It was all delicious! Yes, you have to take it home and steam it on your stove or grill, but it only takes ~40 minutes. It smelled so delicious and was definitely plenty of food for all of us! Our favorites were the shrimp, king crab legs, and snow crab legs. We’ll definitely remember this spot next time we’re in Sandbridge. Nothing better than enjoying delicious seafood in the privacy of your own place right on the beach.

Jumbo’s Fish & Seafood – Menu with Prices – 555 E Main St, Rochester

So, I found Jumbo’s on Restaurant.com. That’s the site that gives you 50 percent off meals and thank goodness for it. Otherwise, I woulda been pretty disappointed paying full price at this newly established seafood venue. Between the two of us… we ordered steamed snow crab legs, fried shrimp, coleslaw, hush puppies and fried okra. Just for starters this is mainly a takeout spot. There’s 2 tables in the waiting area and it’s really not anything nice. Plus, if you decide to eat there, like we did, the staff will kinda just stare out at you the entire time. Lol It’s kinda odd and uncomfortable, but it’s not deliberate on their part. It’s a tiny spot and they simply lean in the service window, either people watching or waiting for their next customer. We decided to eat there. It was tight… it wasn’t the cleanest, the staff rationed out the napkins (which was odd because seafood gets so messy and sticky) and it was far from our finest dining moment. The fried shrimp was really good. It’s cooked in a light batter that’s not too heavy. So, not heavily breaded like most fried shrimp dinners and not the fish and chip battere either. You definitely get more of the shrimp with their fry method. The crab legs were a BIG expensive No-No! Omg.. no salt, no Old Bay, just plain-old steamed and bland. If you’re into that then go for it. I was mad. I wanted flavor and my cholesterol surely went up that day because I kept dipping and double and triple dipping in the butter to try to get some flavorful on them! The slaw they said was homemade, but it was far too mayo-made for us. The hushpuppies and fried okra were standard. They’re new in town, but they definitely have seafood prices. It’s just a whole in the wall, but you’re safe with the fried shrimp dinner.

Crab Fever Nashville – Menu with Prices – 1907 West End Ave, Nashville

I was craving crab legs so bad so i looked at a lot of reviews for crab boil/steam pot style restaurants and found Crab Fever to have amazing reviews…..so we headed there on a Friday night. The atmosphere is adorable, very nautical, the service was excellant, which is why I hate to give it an average review. My son ordered the Lobster cajun pasta, the lobster was very rubbery and the sauce was too overwhelming but it was a nice size portion, warning – the lobster comes in the shell…….I ordered a crab boil, it had snow or dungeness crab and Alaskan King Crab, i ordered that more expensive one because I wanted the King Crab, unfortunately it was such a horrible texture and taste, the worst I’ve ever had…..the other crab was delicious and perfect! The mussels or oysters, i forget which one it had were abnormally large and rubbery and did not taste good….the clams were great and i didn’t eat the crawfish because i don’t like the looks of it and since i am from ny I did not grow up eating it and I cant get into it……they pour the whole bag on the table, I asked them to keep mine in the bag afraid it would be to messy…..we did have the fried calamari as an app and i can tell you it was the best i have ever had…..so this place is hit or miss…..i feel like the quality of the seafood is subpar and that is what makes it just an average meal….i have had better shellfish at Joe’s Crab Shack……our bill was $100 and that is too much to pay if the food is not awesome, hopefully they can invest in better quality shellfish and improve the quality because this place has potential!!

Crafty Crab – Menu with Prices – 245 Oneil Ct, Columbia

Some of the oddities of this restaurant seem to be culturally driven. The intentionally slow yet friendly demeanor of the staff reminded me of a European zeitgeist, but the food quality was far from a European quality. Also, I canâ??t recall any other restaurants that let you order by weight, which did not seem like a detractor at all, but even that turned out to be problematic upon implementation.. That brings me to the first (and biggest) issue:. Iâ??m no stranger to purchasing seafood. I even had a stent as a seafood monger for the local grocery store when I was younger. I do not believe they are being honest, or maybe just very sloppy, with their measurements on seafood. Either way, i was not the only one questioning their portion sizes. I know what a pound of shrimp looks, feels, and eats like, but that wasnâ??t it. I got a lb of shrimp, my wife got 1lb of lobster, a colleague of mine also got a lb of shrimp, and his wife got a lb of the crab-legs. Out of the four of us, the crab was the only dish that received a good portion size.. All these problems they were having with portion weight illustrates the intelligence of the American system of measuring portions in restaurants (small & large). When in Rome…. The second issue I had with it was the actual cooking of the seafood. The shrimp was hammered! It was in the cooking liquid, or more likely steamer, for about twice what they needed to cook. They were rubbery and not quite so fresh. . Also, another item of note. The external part of the restaurant smells like rotten seafood.

Jae Seafood by Tommy – Menu with Prices – 403 Philadelphia Pike #1, Wilmington

Went there 2 weeks ago, got 1/2 doz large to try and they were great! Each crab was full, great flavor. Got an bonus crab and was so happy couldn’t wait to return. Even told friends about it. Tonight went for a full dozen, 2 lbs snow crab, a lb of large shrimp, and the seafood salad to try. I was suspicious taking crabs out of the bag, they were light, a few very light and there were 14. I would’ve appreciated the bonus crabs if the rest were ok. Only 2 were ok, none were full as the last time. And they seemed to be reheated. Not cooked fresh. I actually gave up on them after 8 but opened the rest so I could be accurate in this review. 5 of the total were so empty I thought about saving them to bring them back. $40 isn’t a bad price for large but not worth the work to pick at this quality. I know its a tough business. But after spending $92 tonight for something I was so looking forward to, I have to express my extreme disappointment. The shrimp and snow crabs were good but I won’t be back. You can’t make up for old reheated dead crabs by giving me 2 more of the same.

Direct Seafood Outlet – Menu with Prices – 1643 Cypress Ave, Melbourne

Jerry and his crew are amazing! This is a fun and friendly business that I frequent at about every 2 weeks or less to stock up and the seafood is very good – I am quite picky coming from San Francisco. My favorites are the Scottish Salmon, Scallops and Snow Crab Legs. Of course I have eaten many other tasty items that are also of high quality – this is my go to seafood shop and the prices are reasonable. I have tried seafood from around at different places and it doesn’t come close to the quality at Direct Seafood. If they weren’t here, I would not be eating much seafood since I haven’t been able to find quality outside of this place and I won’t eat it if it isn’t really good. This place gets packed on weekends and is out of control on holidays – its that good. The good news about that is that means the fish is always fresh! The stuff is flying out the door… I’m so glad when Jerry took this business over that he stayed committed to high quality seafood. He is great business man and his employees are so nice, very customer service oriented. I love this place. P.S. crab claws are tasty too.

Henry’s Crab Shack – Menu with Prices – 901 W Spring Creek Pkwy Ste 125, Plano

Place is cute and clean and easy access from two major cross streets, Alma and Spring Creek Pkwy. It sits about 100 people maybe and it was cute and orderly. They have lunch specials but we were there for an early dinner around 5:30ish. . . Prices were about average for this type of establishment. They do have a happy hour which we were in time for. Decent selection of bottled beer. Frozen drink machines werenâ??t running so no margaritas. Iced tea was so pale is badly looked like tea. Beer was not iced cold and no frosty mugs. . . We ordered the boil bags. #5 if I remember correctly. It has a pound of shrimp head in. We did not have the option to get head on or not. If it was available it was not offered. There was a couple pounds of snow crab legs. 2 large pieces of sausage, 2 corns and a bunch of potatoes. They had several sauces and we picked the butter garlic with medium spice. . . Sauce was very watery and did not stick to the seafood. It was basically boiled seafood with sauce thrown in the bag. We had to ask for extra sauce to be able to dip the seafood in it to get some flavor. Then we would smoosh the potatoes and rub it at the bottom of the bag for flavor. Shrimp was very good though it was sweet and tasted fresh. Snow crab was ok. Overall sauce was simply too watered down and no flavor added to the seafood. Spice was good but you could barely taste the garlic at all. . . We were full but agreed the Meal was lack luster and just basic. . . We paid almost $50 for two people and weâ??ll like I said we were full but it lacked the wow factor. . . Couple mishaps. I ordered an extra pound of shrimp and when I looked in the bag I could tell there was not 2 lbs in there. She said she did not add it or charge me for it. Second, the boudin balls were showing In Their ad but they did not have any. It was Marked off the menu. . . Over all you wonâ??t get any fomo if you skip this place.

Favors and Flavors Menu with Prices 11775 Northfall Ln STE 103, Alpharetta

Hailing from the state of Florida and a new resident of Georgia, I have been jaded by the Georgia restaurants claiming to have ‘cajun’ inspired seafood. Unlike any of the other establishments that I have tried in the area, this restaurant was hands down the most authentic to cajun cuisine. We ordered 2 crab boils, bowl of gumbo, bowl of red beans and rice as well as the chicken wings and fries. For $17.95, the crab boils included 3 clusters of snow crab legs, 6 shrimp, 2 sausage, corn, potatoes and a world of flavor. The gumbo was incredible and probably the best I have EVER had coming out of a restaurant. It’s spice and flavor was appropriately accommodating to the rice. Not only was the food delicious but the culture of the restaurant with the friendly staff made the visit memorable. I would definitely recommend and visit when I get the cajun seafood itch!!

Crab It Your Way – Menu with Prices – 823 N 2nd St, Milwaukee

A new restaurant that you must try. We were in the mood for seafood but had no idea what to except upon arrival. Our server, Love, graciously greeted us and informed us well on what their concept was about. First, we were given a small plate of fries with their dry rubs and sauces. After sampling all with the fries, we picked our sauce to use for later. To note, it was myself and my date dining and we ordered 1lb of shrimp and King crab legs with a veggie pack added into a bag. HOLY MOLY was that plenty! They throw it all into this big bag and we were given gloves, bibs, and the proper tools needed for cracking shells. It was absolutely delicious. Fresh food and nice drink specialty selections. The vibe is chill and the staff came by simply to ask how everything was. We were well taken care of. We weren’t sure if it was another server or the manager, but he stopped by to tell us of their new specials they are adding. Sundays will be a good day to stop in as they will be running a crab special! We are from out of town, but we definitely will be back. One thing to mention, no matter how many are in your party, just note that automatic gratuity is on your bill. We didn’t mind it and we gave bit more on top as Love deserved it. So, do yourself a favor, check out this new up and coming place! So worth it. The King crab,Snow crab, and lobster tail is Market Price. Shrimp and crawfish were set. Shrimp was $16.00 Worth every penny.

AM Seafood Restaurant & Bar – Menu with Prices – 3400 Plank Rd, Fredericksburg

My husband and I love a good seafood restaurant and have passed by AM Seafood many times while living in the area for the past 8 months. We always had good intentions to stop, but often found ourselves at places that we were more familiar with, like Red Lobster or Joe’s Crab Shack. And it’s not like the competition is so good that we didn’t want to go anywhere else. It was rather like an old shoe…comfortable and familiar. We knew the menu’s, the prices and the specials and just found ourselves absentmindedly going to the others without thinking too much about it. I was even guilty of stalking AM Seafood’s website and Facebook page, and still lingering in the distance, before giving them a try. One day, I got a hankering for seafood and I called my husband and said, “Be ready…I want to try AM Seafood tonight!” So last Saturday, we finally found ourselves pulling into the parking lot for dinner. The building and lot don’t look like much from the road. In other words, they don’t have much curb appeal. So we were pleasantly surprised walking in and finding a nice warm ambiance. Now let me explain, they aren’t fancy by any stretch. But a nice quiet, cozy seafood restaurant they are. It wasn’t busy at all, and we were greeted and seated by our waitress immediately. A few tables were occupied by seemingly other lovingly couples on dates. As with most restaurants we are trying for the first time, we had already looked over the menu online prior to arrival, and had an idea about what we wanted to order. We wanted to order an AM Seafood boil pot. However, we were a bit confused by the setup on the menu. Were we to order 1-3 items from the left list AND 2 or more items from the list on the right? Or do we just choose a column? Well basically you can pretty much add anything to your boil from either column, and each boil is served in a bag with corn on the cobb, potato and sausage. We were going to be splitting our boil, so we had intentions of ordering the snow crab legs and the large shrimp. However, after talking to our waitress who suggested the Dungeness Crab, which we’d never tried, we went with the snow crab legs and the dungeness crab as opposed to the shrimp. She said they were meatier than the snow crab. We got the non spicy, garlic butter flavor for our boil. Prior to our boil coming, they brought a pot full of supplies…2 plastic bibs, 2 sets of plastic gloves, plenty of wet wipes and 2 stainless steel crab crackers. We giggled…we’re not going to need all that. We don’t eat messy. Ha! You should have seen how fast we were in the bibs after squirting crab juice all over ourselves (we still used greasy fingers though). We were a mess, but we enjoyed ourselves. The food came out in a steaming hot bag as noted. It had one small potato (a half each), two small mini corn on the cob ears and literally two bites of smoked sausage. It wasn’t even a chunk..it was literally 2 slices. So I immediately felt like we got kinda cheated out on the sausage. They shouldn’t advertise it with sausage if you’re not even getting a small wedge. When I make my own boils at home, I put a couple of small wedges in; not two slices the size of pepperoni’s. As for the seafood, the seafood was fantastic! I cannot rave enough about how delicious everything was. Enough that it is now my favorite seafood restaurant in the area. My only complaint was really the fact that they really skimp on the sausage and potatoes. Still yet, it was enough food for the two of us. Neither my husband nor I were fans of the dungeness crab, and will stick with the snow crabs or king crab next time, but we will definitely return. Nice location, delicious seafood (which is the most important) and our waitress was also very attentive and helpful.

Wild Crab Seafood – Menu with Prices – 275 Park Terrace Dr Suite 200, Columbia

I knew visiting South Carolina we had to get our seafood boil fixings and thankfully we found this place to try! From the restaurant decor to the very last bites of food, everything was amazing! For a Saturday afternoon it wasn’t extremely packed and busy so we got seated right away! We got our drinks and looked through the menu. We were able to pick out what we wanted in the boil. My husband and I went with snow crab legs, headless shrimp, crawfish, and their seasonal blue crab. It came with corn and potatoes. They also had a kids menu with non seafood items which was great for our little one since he can be picky, so we just got him chicken nuggets and fries. Before everything came out, we got bibs and gloves. Great option for those who don’t want to get down and dirty! Everything was delicious, flavorful and we we’re extremely happy with our food! The only complaint I have is that our waitress didn’t check up on us frequently so we ended up staying longer than hoped. Aside from that, we are super pleased with our experience and will definitely find ourselves back there soon enough!

Andy’s Seafood Market – Menu with Prices – 3450 Jordan Ln NW, Huntsville

I had no idea that Andy’s existed until a co-worker told me about them. They have snow crab, a few different types of shrimp, and fresh crawfish that they will steam for you on the spot. They also have fish. They don’t fry fish, but I was told that is coming soon. Plus, they have all the ingredients you need if you want to do your own fish fry or crawfish boil. In a city where everything is deep fried, steamed crab legs and shrimp makes my heart sing. The people working the counter are nice and the store is clean.
