This cafe is “line up and order” style. I met 3 people there after an afternoon film at the Garneau. They have several types of chai on the menu but I chose a pomegranate juice. Once you order they give you an electronic buzzer to let you know when your order is ready- I like this and can name a number of restaurants who could benefit from this system. The butter chicken wrap comes with mayo unless you specify- I asked for hummus instead. I ordered mine “gluten free” for an extra dollar, and got two small wraps instead of a large one. I found my gluten free wrap to be heavy with yellow coloured rice.- so the proportion of curry to starch was rather thin, given that I paid over $20 for a wrap and a drink. I traded one of my small wraps for a palak paneer wrap- cheese and spinach. I found there was too much potato mixed in with the spinach Also, the tamarind dipping sauce that came with 3 out of four wraps was turned into a thin, pancake-syrup-like substance by too much water, sweetening (sugar) and cinnamon-way to ruin tamarind sauce. I much preferred the hot mint sauce that one of my friends got- green and spicy- sorry don’t have the name. It was all quite filling, and I still had a stomach ache the next morning so I’m a bit wary of their “GF” claim. I had a taste of a friend’s tandoori chicken and I thought it was quite good- I like spicy so I might try that next time-or just stay away from wraps altogether. Sorry left my camera at home so no pictures.

Zach’s Wraps – Menu with Prices – 2501 Wabash Ave, Springfield

Food court food is always a challenge when it comes to good or not. I decided to try Zachs Wraps in White Oaks Mall in Springfield IL. Now the food court here has changed over so many times in the last 20 years. They offer 14 different meal choices I tried the Zach Attack. Crispy or grilled options Crispy chicken wrap with onions, tomatoes, lettuce, provolone cheese and bourbon sauce. Order of fries and drink. 1 There’s no choice of wraps that I seen 2. Crispy chicken should take 7-8 mins not 5-6 3. The wrap should be completely closed on end When I opened the wrap to reclose the end it was 2 very small and thin chicken tenders lightly breaded( maybe why it was so fast cooking) Onions were full slivers not diced The bourbon sauce was a little over powering to taste. Definitely need a drink to wash it down. Fries golden brown seasoned Standard fountain drink watered down taste. Polite workers.

Hat Creek Burger Co. – Menu with Prices – 2311 N Central Expy, Richardson

Let me start this review by saying I recently was diagnosed with Celiac disease. It’s made it really difficult and a pain in the @ss going out to eat. So huge props for to Hat Creek for really catering to people with gluten issues. The effort they take plays a huge role in me giving them 4 stars. I’ve been twice. First time I had a burger wrapped in lettuce and second time I got burger in a bowl. I thought the lettuce wrap had way too much lettuce. But probably better to have too much than too little as you can always take some off. I like the bowl better. If you like spicy then get the Sombrero burger. Really tasty. The sides is where hat creak really shines, especially for folks with gluten issues. Most places you can’t eat most of the sides. Every one of their sides are gluten free which is very impressive. Even gluten free fried pickles which are really good. They have chicken flashers, which are gluten free chicken nuggets. We tried them. We felt they were a little over cooked. If you have a kid with gluten issues they would be really excited they could actually have these chicken nuggets and they would eat them up. Turbo shake with coffee is tasty. Kuddos to Hat Creek from those struggling through trying to live a gluten free live.

Baked after Dark – Menu with Prices – 6103 Maple St, Omaha

Not sure which is sweeter the Owner’s, or the awesome brownies, cinnamon rolls and cookies. Such a delight. What a treat to have them in the neighborhood. The cinnamon rolls look like they are going to be a bit bready, but looks can be deceiving. These are doughy and moist with a frosting that is to die for. More than once I have bought cinnamon roll to have the next day for breakfast and awoke the next morning to an empty plastic container mocking me while I drink my coffee. Pro tip – buy two. The brownies should also not to be missed. They are a perfect balance between roasted chocolate and sweetness. For those of you that do the gluten free thing, these guys can totally hook you up if you order in advance. Several friends and family members who are gluten free said they were the best cookies they have ever had. The only bad thing I can say about Baked After Dark is that is is way too close to my house for my own good!

Citizen Soul Menu with Prices 60 S Main St, Alpharetta

This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in downtown Alpharetta. I love the vibe here. It’s fancy without feeling pretentious. The service is amazing and the food is two thumbs up. I have been here twice now, both times during the lunch hour. Both of my servers were on it–constantly refilling my water, willing to answer any questions I had, and bringing our food out almost immediately after we ordered. To all my Gluten-Free friends, this place has you covered. They have Gluten-Free fried chicken! Say What?! Yes, that was my reaction too! Since I was recently diagnosed with a Gluten Sensitivity, I thought that I was going to have to say goodbye to most fried foods, but not here! They also have a separate gluten-free fryer for their fries. I’m telling you guys that this place is a win-win. The fried chicken was a huge portion of tender, white meat. It honestly tasted like real fried chicken, if not better. I could not believe it was gluten-free! Their fries are house cut and crispy– just the way I like them. They are cooked in duck fat, which gives them a different taste than you’ve probably had before. Prior to becoming gluten free, I tried their house burger. This thing is fully loaded with ingredients and you will not leave hungry after eating this one. Now, I would just order a lettuce wrap instead of a bun when I order. My first visit here I also tried the pimento cheese fritters. These are a must order if you can consume gluten. They are so good! They have an impressive wine selection, so make sure you try a glass or two! I opted for the rose’ and it was so good. I do recommend using the Yelp app or calling to make reservations. The restaurant on the small side and can fill up quickly–better safe than sorry! Street parking is available all throughout downtown and there is also a parking deck near city hall (behind the restaurant).

Salus Fresh Foods – Menu with Prices – 101 Peter St, Toronto

I order through Ritual for lunch take out so that’s my only experience thus far. Wraps – 4/5 Salads – 2/5 I think the wraps are really delicious and the range of items you can get in the wrap are great – pickled onions, strawberries, egg, hummus, avocado to name a few! But they are never wrapped/stuffed evenly, so you’ll get all the egg at once, all the avocado at the end, etc. I think they need to train their staff on wrapping/stuffing technique. Also, if you add a protein (I add chicken), the wrap comes out to just under $15. Fifteen bucks for a lunch wrap is insanity. Salads also come out to the same price and mine was so disappointing – I expected a salad brimming full of each ingredient but it was lacking and I usually love a salad-only lunch. I was starving all afternoon and for the price point that’s unacceptable. I would recommend the wraps overall and would say skip the salads. Perhaps an in-person experience yields more ingredients.

Love Food Central – Menu with Prices – 2057 Central Ave, St. Petersburg

I am a meat eater. An omnivore. A lover of bacon (sorry vegans and vegetarians). However, that is kind of a good thing in this case, because I love Love Food Central. It is absolutely a place that anyone plant based can come with meat eater friends and everyone still enjoy a meal. In fact, if you have omnivore friends who think they could never eat plant based, this is a great first place to bring them to prove them wrong (there are others but this isn’t another business’ yelp page). If you’re a meat eater like me, or a vegetarian or vegan who wants to try to get their friends to try a plant based substitution to a meal every now and then (or more often), then come here and order the buffalo tempeh. They do a buffalo tempeh sandwich, but also a tempeh reuben. However, I go with the veggie wrap and add buffalo tempeh. Its true that this wrap is solely a method to deliver veggies and buffalo sauce to your mouth, but oh my god it is good. The wrap is gluten free, the tempeh is fine – again, its just a protein to cover in buffalo sauce – and the veggies are cooked perfectly, but this wrap brings is all together. Honestly, I have never gotten anything else. I think I tried my fiance’s tempeh reuben once, or maybe it was the buffalo tempeh sandwich or maybe she got the tempeh reuben but with buffalo tempeh. Don’t know. I’m sure it was good. Doesn’t matter. The veggie wrap with buffalo tempeh is hands down one of my favorite sandwiches/wraps on central. Oh yeah, they have a case full of delicious vegan baked desserts – I’ve had cookies and I think cupcakes and loved them. They also do a vegan soft serve ice cream – I can’t remember if its cashew or soy or coconut milk or what, but sometimes its good. Depends on the flavor. They will do an ice cream sandwich with it too. Anyway, desserts are fine to great, but its not why I come here. Veggie wrap. Add buffalo tempeh. You will not regret it. Dog friendly outside tables, too. Picnic tables, but my boy Bruce doesn’t care. Doesn’t have to be fancy as long as he can come. He’s a good boy. So again, my vegan friends, or at least, vegans with whom I have an uneasy truce. I like it here. I like coming here and eating this food. You might be on to something.

ice cream Carrusel – Menu with Prices – 16450 San Carlos Blvd, Fort Myers

I could not believe they serve sugar free – fat free ice cream. I am diabetic and cannot remember the last time I had a full size ice cream cone. I tried the Cinnamon Caramel Pecan and loved it so much, I had it 2 nights in a row. They only have about 6 or 7 of the sugar free options but I won’t have to go without ice cream again. I know it’s sugar free or I would have paid the price after I consumed about 1/3 of it. Thank you Love Boat for giving me one of my favorite treats back without guilt, remorse or a sugar rush.

San Marino Pizza – Menu with Prices – 1465 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island

This is a new Pizza Spot that I spotted on Hylan Blvd. I stopped in to grab a menu and I was promptly greeted with a quick hello and a smile. Upon my ordering delivery, the following week, was delivered fresh, hot & quickly with a smile. Arriving before the 45 minutes I was quoted. We had the Puglia Pie which is a large pie with pepperoni, sausage and meatball. The large pie was extra large and cooked to perfection. The dough was not to thin and not to thick, just right. The sauce was smooth and silky, sweet and tangy. The pie was tasty and yummy. See pic of the pie. The toppings were generous and spread out evenly, topped to perfection. The rolls we ordered, Spinach & Philly cheese steak, were stuffed and rolled in a crispy medium thin tasty and toasty dough. Fresh spinach, and fresh cheese steak. Just delicious both of em. See pic. We tried the Grilled Chicken Ceasar wrap. Again generous portions and came with French Fries. The Chicken wrap was fresh and the chicken must be fire grilled with the grill taste you’d expect. Very tasty. Great new spot for your pizza nights. Give them a try your taste buds will thank you.

Figaroâ??s Boston – Menu with Prices – 105 Beach St, Boston

Wow, this place is amazing. All the sandwiches and wraps are great! They are large and filling and delicious. You also get a free brownie or blondie with your order (I’d recommend the blondie, which contained nuts for some extra crunch and flavor; the brownie was too chocolatey for me). The staff are really friendly and efficient; they work very well together to make all sandwiches fresh… except…. they are well aware of the popularity of their Thursday special, the buffalo chicken “Whitey” wrap, so they prepare a bunch ahead of time. My “Sonny” wrap was also chicken-based and freshly prepared, so I actually liked it a lot more than the “Whitey”. I will definitely be back!

Kale Me Crazy Alpharetta Menu with Prices 50 Canton St Suite 101, Alpharetta

Located just off the main strip of S Main St (Hwy 9), this newly established Kale Me Crazy location has been blending healthy juices and smoothies as well as whipping up freshly made salads and wraps since the beginning of April 2019! My wife and I stopped in on National Smoothie Day (6/21) for the first time to have lunch. They were running a special which was 25% off all their smoothies, so we ordered two. I ordered the Green Dream and my wife ordered the Tropical Trippin’. Both smoothies were very light and refreshing in taste which was perfect for a hot summer day. Personally, I enjoyed my wife’s drink a little more then mines. The Tropical Trippin’ had orange, mango, pineapple, coconut yogurt and coconut milk all blended together! Anything mango is my jam! I just thought I’d be adventurous and try something I normally wouldn’t order. The Green Dream consists of kale, spinach, pineapple, apple, mint leaves and coconut water. Don’t get me wrong, it was very flavorful as well, but I just preferred the taste of my wife’s smoothie more! The normal prices (tax included) for each smoothie are as follow: Tropical Trippin’: $8.02 Green Dream: $8.56 We also ordered their chicken pesto wrap and turkey wrap. I THOROUGHLY enjoyed the chicken pesto wrap the most! I love sun-dried tomatoes and basil pesto sauce. Each wrap was $10.70 (tax included). I will say that the wraps are pretty small for the price tag that’s on them. The wraps also do not include a side or a drink. Nonetheless, both were still very delicious in flavor! The turkey wrap had avocado and hummus on it which really enhanced the overall flavor and texture of the wrap. My wife really enjoyed this wrap the most! There is very limited parking in front of the cafe. You may get lucky and find an open parallel parking spot in front of the cafe, but be prepared to park at another business or parking lot and walk over. My tip is to just go ahead and park behind Ceviche if the area is busy. There is a pretty big parking lot located behind the restaurant which typically always has open parking spots. Once you park in the parking lot, come through the outside seating area of Ceviche, cross the street at the intersection and wallah, you’re there. Less then a 2 minute walk!
