First off, I’ll say that I no longer enjoy pizza from any of the big chains in the city, including Panago, which I consider the cream of the crop when it comes to chain pizza. So I’ve been searching a bit for a good independent operator. So far, Checkers ranks as #1 on my Edmonton pizza list. I’d probably put Nitza’s Pizza in Sherwood Park and St. Albert as my top choice, but it’s a far drive for pizza. This is hearty, thick, tasty pizza. They’re pretty consistent and generally don’t over-bake their pizza and create a good product. It’s much thicker than most chain pizza and has more of a home-made taste; I don’t taste much artificial in there. They have good variety of toppings, and I often get hot sauce in the sauce of the pizza, which is a delicious twist that few pizza outlets offer. As for the restaurant experience, I can’t really comment; I’ve only ever had take-out or delivery. There are a couple of tables, but it’s probably not a place that you’d want to hang around. But you can’t knock a pizza place for that. Although delivery can be very, very slow. But it’s a small business, so you have to adjust expectations a bit. So go get some Checkers! (I have no idea why they’re ranked so badly on Yelp. Hopefully that turns around for them)

Lil Italian Pizza – Menu with Prices – 10014 Main St, Fairfax

* I love to support small businesses so I don’t want to give a 1 or 2 star for this place however the pizza here is nothing spectacular. $20 for a plain medium cheese pizza and mozzarella sticks (includes delivery charge not tip) -No comment on the sticks. -flavorless crust -pizza is similar to what chuck e cheese had back in the 90s -quick delivery time -Happy with delivery and presentation of pizza looked great -plain and average pizza -medium was rather small compared to other carry out competitors -would rather do dominos or Pizza Hut for the same price I could get something else cheaper Overall it was very plain pizza nothing was wrong with it but it was average and the quality wasn’t there for carry out pizza, like I said it wasn’t terrible but I wouldn’t choose to get pizza there again because I could get better carry out pizza elsewhere. I must say I was happy with the overall presentation and delivery of the pizza as it was quick and I’m happy about that but I wouldn’t order here again.

Hungry Howie’s Pizza Menu with Prices 3395 Plymouth Rd, Ann Arbor

This was my first time trying Hungry Howie’s and I had a great experience. The inside of the restaurant is very clean and as other reviews reiterate, the customer service here is fantastic. The workers were very pleasant and quick to serve right as I walked in the door. In terms of taste, I think you get more than you pay for. I ordered a medium well done pie. The pizza felt somewhere in between a Little Caesar’s and Chuck e Cheese pizza in all the best ways possible. This is definitely a go to option if you’re looking for a reliable fast food slice that gives you a bang for your buck. The cheese was nice and caramelized and where this chain shines is definitely their sauce; it is the true star in the pizza box. The cheese is on the lighter side and the crust is closer to loaf style without being too doughy like Little Caesar’s. While I have had better chain restaurant pizzas, between service and flavor, I have no complaints and only good things to say. This is perhaps the best dollar/slice to flavor ratio around. Try this location out and see for yourself!

Ohana Hawaiian BBQ – Menu with Prices – 459 College Blvd #2, Oceanside

So I ordered thru doordash sat June 1st at 6:30, the chicken was meh! The Short ribs were so salty, and too much soy sauce in the marinade it was impossible to eat, the macaroni had too much mayo, the breaded fish had no flavor, it was just salty, the panko shrimps were bland as well cause they didn’t bother to put any sauce on my order not even for the eggrolls, thank god the musubi was good cause i was starving and i dont have much money to spend on delivery otherwise i would’ve order pizza cause i dont care to save the food for later, the first and last time i order from this place, such a waste of money, such a let down.

Burning Oak Wood Fired Pizza – Menu with Prices – 1035 McRae Way, Roseville

This pizza was unreal. Probably one of the best pizzas around here. Joe knows his stuff when it comes to making a solid amazing pizza. His pizza sauce is the best pizza sauce I have ever had. Plus its wood fired pizza…what’s better than that? You wont be disappointed with the pizza. The only thing that I hated was not being able to try different kinds of pizza. But there’s always next time :). If you have an event and need someone to cater it dont hesitate to call this place to do it…you won’t be disappointed! Thanks Joe!

The Pizza Cutters – Menu with Prices – 2410 Court St suite 3, Syracuse

What happened to you, Pizza Cutters? The Pizza Cutters used to be my “go-to” pizza joint. I wrote A GLOWING review on Yelp and posted on their Facebook wall! The food was always hot and delivered in a timely manner. Their menu was creative and the delivery drivers were (mostly) friendly. Then things started to change. Did Pizza Cutters become too popular and couldn’t keep up with the demand? Did Pizza Cutters become too arrogant and no longer cared about my lowly $40 orders? Maybe they switched ownership? I’m not sure what happened on their end…but this is what I experienced on my end: pizzas started showing up lukewarm, delivery drivers seemed impatient, despite the tip that I ALWAYS give…and the food was MORE THAN AN HOUR LATE…on SEVERAL occasions. I have used several online ordering apps (GrubHub, DoorDash, Slice and EatStreet) when ordering from The Pizza Cutters. My choice in online delivery apps usually depends on the delivery fee – which can range from $1.99 to a whopping $9.99! For the record, DoorDash is usually the cheapest. On at least two occasions, The Pizza Cutters claimed that they hadn’t received my order from the online food app (different occasions; different apps)….which means that once the outsourced delivery drivers showed up for my order, they had to personally give Pizza Cutters my order (again) and then wait for it to be prepared. On another occasion (all within 10 days of each other, because I have a pizza-problem) Pizza Cutters admitted to the driver that they had been “offline all morning”….as if that somehow makes it okay. The money that I paid when placing the order was gone quickly enough. Did The Pizza Cutters offer an apology or a discount/future store credit for THEIR mess? No, of course not…a gesture like that might make me feel like a valued customer. At one point, I spoke with a GrubHub representative, who suggested that I place the order through the app and then call The Pizza Cutters to confirm that they had received my order! Well, if I do that, what was the point of using the app in the first place? The worst part was that I did. I placed my order via the app and then called The Pizza Cutters to verify that they had actually received my order. Ironically, (for that order) they did. For the previous order and the next order, The Pizza Cutters, again, had technical issues. Pizza Cutters just isn’t worth the hassle anymore. When the food was piping hot and the delivery drivers weren’t desperately trying to cover up “technical glitches” made by the restaurant…when I felt like a valued customer, sure. But it’s been a very long time since I’ve felt anything resembling positive about Pizza Cutters. Nope. No longer my go-to…more like a stay away. TL:DR Service and food is glitchy, just like ordering through their app. They’re not worth it anymore.

Michelangelo’s – Menu with Prices – 860 Post Ave, Staten Island

I ordered thru yelp for delivery and it took over an hour to arrive. Granted, we are in the middle of a thunderstorm, but over an hour for a small delivery? Eh. Plus it was over 10 mins later than estimated time. However, i advised on the instructions to have the driver call me when he arrived, and he did, and he was very very polite. I appreciate that there was no delivery charge. The plain slices i ordered were a really big size and as far as taste goes, just your average slice. Not bad. The caesar salad wasnt great. The lettuce was a little limp and the croutons were flavorless. The garlic knots had no garlic on them…didnt even remotely taste like garlic. The zeppoles were good. Wish they were a little bigger but i liked those a lot. All in all not a bad experience but i dont think id order from here again.

Totally 80’s Pizza & Museum – Menu with Prices – 1717 S College Ave, Fort Collins

(After posting this review, they did reach out to me about sending me another pizza to make up for the last experience, but sadly I do not live in the area, so I couldn’t take them up on that. I do appreciate the follow-up!!) Totally Bummed. Only experience with this place was a delivery on a Thursday evening. Our order was placed and received at 6:25pm, and we didn’t receive our order until 7:50pm. The delivery estimation said 50-70 minutes, this took 85 minutes, and it’s just a weekday. It was also just one 1 pizza and 3 garlic twists…not a huge order. Another miss was getting marinara instead of the ranch that we ordered on the side, and there was no sauce on the pizza itself. We ordered a regular pizza expecting there to be the usual tomato sauce, but there was none, just cheese and toppings on bread. The last disappointment would be the minimal toppings, from the picture on the menu they have on yelp it looked like a generous amount of toppings, which was not reality, so that was a bummer. The positives – the pizza was still decent, and the garlic bread twists were alright.

Sal’s Pizza – Menu with Prices – 6773 Carnelian St, Rancho Cucamonga

Best pizza around the Rancho Cucamonga area I have found! Tried it for the first time, I ordered the XL 2 topping pizza for $23! Slices were huge, they were very generous with the toppings and it tasted delicious!! I normally just eat 1 or 2 “small” slices, like pizza hut sizes, but this pizza was so good I ate 4! And the slices were big I couldve been full with 1! I didnt get to take a photo, I was too hungry! They dont accept debit/credit so be warned of that and its not a sot down restaurant, they’re just a store front. But this is perfect to call ahead and pick up for an amazing dinner! Dont waste time with fast food pizza when you can have the real thing! I will be coming back!

Valentino’s – Menu with Prices – 4451 N 26th St, Lincoln

Dont think I’ll ever order at this location again. Was told 45 minutes ordered at 7:58PM and called at 9:14PM to check on order guy told me any second it should show up at any second. Got the pizza at 9:40PM. Asked the delivery guy what took so long and he said there was 4 other deliveries. Okay I get that he had 4 other pizzas to deliver but no one can pick up a phone and tell us they are going to be late. On top of that pizza was cold. Called and talked to manager and he gave me 25% off and wouldn’t own up to mistakes that were made. Also never did get a sincere apology or I hope you will still order with us. I normally dont write reviews but just so people know their food might be late and cold.

Saverio’s Pizzeria Menu with Prices 530 E Benson Blvd, Anchorage

There Number Two on my Favorite Pizza joint to take my Family. This owner knows his way to bring a very good and delicious pizza. My kids order the Lasagna and it was cooked well and just the right amount of sauce and flavor. I’ve ordered many time for pick up I wish they had delivery service. But that’s ok trust me Anchorage you won’t be disappointed. They load up on there toppings on a pie they have made me happy. Time to time I Do like Moose’s T-Pizza and Bear T-Pizza. All these three Pizza Joints have in common is they don’t have a delivery service and I Believe all there dough is very soft Good tasting sauce. Very clean Dine in Lobby Friendly Service just like the other two joints I’ve liked and been. FYI, who wants Scilly’s or Pizza H. Or Dominos, these three places are way to Greasy in their pies.! That’s just awful! But try Saverio’s Pizza just once and you will fall in love! They know what a customer wants and they got 10 Stars in my opinion. Oh yeah only if they had beer too, that would be Awesome!

Papa Pizza Pie – Menu with Prices – 1105 S Euclid St #H, Fullerton

We don’t order pizza a lot, but we order several times a year for the past two years (only online) and our pizza has always been on time or early and still ready to eat, and tastes really great! It’s not loaded with a ton of oils from the cheese or meats on top. We love that you can make the pizza any way you want. It’s such a plus! Type of sauce, cheese, etc. It’s wonderful. Also, if you want to tip in cash, have it ready for your delivery person because they left so fast (probably to get his deliveries out on time) we didn’t give them the tip we had. Thank you! (Lastly, the price is very reasonable. I had a 2-topping medium pizza for $12.11 + $2.99 delivery fee. That’s a great price to choose my own toppings and delivery to downtown Anaheim. For those who feel like it’s cheaper to get a gigantic pizza from Costco for $9.95. You’re absolutely right. It’s cheaper, it’s larger, it’s supreme with everything. I don’t want a cheese, pepperoni or supreme. I want my own creation and Papa Pie is a local business owner. Of course it’s more expensive. Try owning your own restaurant. Costco closes at 6pm and doesn’t deliver. But Papa’s delivered my made to order pizza at 8:30pm. My husband and I believe in local businesses in our community. We’ll get Costco pizza another day.)

Pizza Town USA – Menu with Prices – 604 N Coast Hwy, Oceanside

It’s been a long time since I have ordered a Feast for Four from Pizza Town. I’ve never actually been in their restaurant but ordered delivery from the late 80’s into the mid 90’s. The food was always good and reasonably priced and the Delivery girl always pleasant. They will always be the number one pizza place to me.
