Okay so I’m heading home after work and I take the East Marine View Drive exit because if I don’t I end up in Marysville and have to turn around. Anyway, I remember that Gai’s bakery used to be down the way and I decide to head over there. Well now it’s Franz’s Bakery Outlet. So, I decided to stop. I pulled into the parking spot and right away noticed a sign that said buy a gallon of milk and get a loaf of bread free. What? Wow this is my kind of store. So, I went in and saw something my friend talks on and on about Debbies snack cakes – I mean Little Debbie. Anyway, they have lots and lots of bread. I picked up some sourdough bread, then saw some Tim’s potato chips, they have some Red Mill products here but I didn’t get any, maybe next time. They even have coffee which was priced at 4.99 which is about what I pay for my coffee at Starbucks. I got some english muffins and they have quite an assortment – I was so excited about the assortment that I almost got my friend his favorite blueberry. But, I decided that if I didn’t I could tell him about them and we could go back. There is a method to my madness. Okay next I saw some squirrelly bread – which can be hard to find so I grabbed some. Then I saw spices at 1.00 a pop. I know you can usually find some spices for this price at the dollar store but I picked up oregano and they had a nice selection of spices. Even though I circled the pastries about 3 times I decided against them – I can come back you know. So I go up to the counter to pay. It comes to 8.56 including tax for the governor. Then she tells me “You spent over 8.00 so you get to choose an item from over on that rack.” What? free – can you imagine going into a regular grocery store and having them tell you that you get to choose something free. Yee Haw. So, I chose another squirrelly bread. Apparently it starts at 8.00 and you choose one item. At 10.00 you choose two items and it goes up. One lady when I was wandering around got to choose 4 times. Luck Butt. Anyway, check this place out it’s a pretty cool place and the lady who helped me was very nice. Oh yes they had fresh pies – but hey I can go back. They are open every day including Sundays so there is no excuse for not trying them.

Entenmann’s Oroweat Foods Company – Menu with Prices – 3393 Silverton Rd NE, Salem

Such a cool bread and snack store. Lots of affordable baked goods and they have a rewards program as well. They have an app they told us to download and then we got $2 off our purchase + we got a free baked item off a shelf for purchasing more than x-amount of dollars. That was real cool. Now what to do with all this bread? Freezing it for later use. We will definitely be back, because the bread is what you get at the grocery store but dollars cheaper. I really like the fact they have Everything bagels and bagel thins. My faves.

Sara Lee Outlet – Menu with Prices – 3232 Chelton Cir, Colorado Springs

I love this place !! Great deals and way way cheaper than a grocery store. Now they have an app sara lee . If u download the app u get a free loaf ! they get returns their drivers dont sell on their routes so, everyday they get different items! You do get a free item when u reach whatever the number is for the week on their whiteboard. She said anywhere between 8-12 bucks. Alot of variety there, they have jellys, chips, organic bread alot of neat items I’ve never tried before. Overall I had a great experience and will go back . Very nice girl who said hi upon entering and made sure i had a reward card and knew of the app and that i could get a free bread item for downloading it. Definitely worth the stop by. But as long as ur ok with close to date bread lol …

Burgerim Gourmet Burgers – Menu with Prices – 120 W CityLine Dr Suite 600, Richardson

Came for the grand opening and honestly was super disappointed. Waited in line for about like 45 min before opening really hungry and ready to get this free burger and buy some fries and etc. They had like 2 vendors come out and a DJ and had lots of balloons and what not. Finally after waiting in the heat they open the doors at 12:05pm and only let 10 ppl at a time. Me and my bf get inside and we get to “order” and by that I mean they had pre made burgers sitting out and we only got to choose from 2 options the grilled chicken or the regular burger. So now that I didnt get to try the burger I wanted to try ( assuming we could choose any burger since the advertising said free burger.. you would think it would be any of their burgers that you could choose from) we ordered a fries and grabbed our burger from the counter (who knows how long it’s been sitting in the back already made) We sit down the burger is pretty small and super sad. The veggies looked super non existant. I opened the burger and finally found it hiding. The burger was sooo dry and super chewy. Like some frozen patty that you get at your school cafeteria lunch. It was so bad I would not pay like 8 bucks for this. The fries finally came out after we finished our burger and we had to go up there to ask when our fries were done. They had it just sitting up there and no one delivering to our table.. The fries were so small.. and it was like potato chips? It was definitely better than the burgers but still so pricy for the amount of fries and size of it. Also what was really annoying was there was nothing on the table. At least have some napkins… you have to grab everything at a station which was annoying to do when theres a bunch of ppl in the store. Giving 2 stars cause they tried and gave free burgers but honestly this just made me realize why these burger IM have bad reviews and that the quality of these burgers is defin not worth the price. In and out is a million times better than this and cheaper go there instead.

Barry Bagels Ann Arbor Menu with Prices 2515 Jackson Ave, Ann Arbor

I have eaten in this place many times but never wrote a review, don’t know why. It has been one of the best bagel place for me since the first time I ate here. They have huge variety of bagels and everything is very fresh. Quality of the ingredients are superb. The other day I ordered onion bagel with turkey pastrami, lettuce, tomato, onion, honey mustard and mayonnaise. It was super delicious yet simple bagel sandwich which is quite feeling. I ended up buying another one to take home for my husband. They serve nice coffee too. The most important thing is the service. Each and every time the service I got was top notch. This place is big with plenty of sitting arrangement with self service. But they have a warmth. Each staff treat you like they know you for ever. At least I get that feeling all the time. The menu is quite big so you need some time to choose or to be sure what you really want. They do have lots of sweet options too. Muffins, cookies. Lots of other drink options and salads too. Although I always opt for their bagels. One time I ordered one sandwich with tons of stuffing in it and it didn’t had that magic . So my suggestion would be choose what ever bread or flavor or meat you want but go with simple ingredients. There that magic happens . The pricing is modest specially the food, quality and service you get I would say it’s a cheap place in that term. The parking is free too which is again another big plus for me. Can’t wait to go back there again soon.

Coffee Junction Menu with Prices 401 Harris Ave, Bellingham

The worst customer service I’ve ever had anywhere. I am not a complainer or even a fussy customer, but wow, for the first time ever I really was so pissed and offended. We got coffee here before our train trip. There was one barista; she was alone and busting her ass, so I gave her a 40% tip. After taking a couple sips of my coffee and having to open it and check to see if there was actually espresso shots in it (or if maybe she had forgotten them) AND having my sister taste it to see if I was just being a coffee snob, I brough it back to the barista to see if I could get a new drink, because mine tasted like water. She extremely rude and defensively said “it’s an americano… it has water in it.” I very politely explained, “yes, but it doesnt taste like coffee at all.” At this point she stopped making eye contact with me, said “what do you want?” Trying to not to be ‘that customer’ I asked for a drip, thinking that was a good deal because it was half the price. She didnt even respond to me, as she got it. I asked if it was ok if I still get a pump of hazelnut in it. She said “yup” still not looking at me, put the pump and a lid on it, handing it to me, I said thank you, then she told me it would be $1.90. This is where I started to get pissed. Clearly confused and upset I said “I’m sorry, you’re going to charge me…?” In a super condescending voice she laughed our, ” I cant just give you free coffee.” (Which she had literally just done, topping off the mans cup, in front of me). I tossed my card on the counter. She ran it and had the nerve to toss it back. I didnt have the time or restraint to give her a piece of my mind so I left. I will NEVER get coffee here again. Not because their coffee is gross, but because I have never experienced such hostility from someone when I’m nicely and apologetically asking for a replacement for an item I PAID FOR. Luckily all the train employees were fantastically nice and really redeemed the experience. But wow.

Health Trail Natural Foods – Menu with Prices – 10848 Warwick Blvd, Newport News

I’m so happy to have found this place, I can finally have a closer drive for my vegan/vegeterian products! This place has your basic health food store stuff like shake mixes, fresh produce, nuts, vitamins, essential oils, beauty products and spices as well as canned goods. It’s located near the Hilton area in NN in the strip by a Food Lion. Lots of parking and generally a safe area. The staff here is great! There knowledgable and if they don’t have an item they recommend a place that does and they even help you with recipes for homemade products. I like getting my essential oils for my homemade products here, they also sell other base products like castille, vitamin E and vegeable glycerin. The prices are a tad bit more expensive than the Vitamin Shoppe but theres more quality. I also get their vegan protein powders here too, lots of brands but Garden of Life is the best! They have lots of discounts usually on this brand as well as others. Theres a couple of fridges that sell frozen and chilled items, most of the brands you could get at target and a nicer food lion…like the one next door( i.e boca, morning star and amys) but they also have some rarer goodies like chilled wheatgrass, rice/almond cheese and a good variety of ice cream. The produce section is tiny but its kept in great shape! Lots of energy bars and the homeopathic medication has a lot of selection. Theres a good sized nut section for a good deal. They do bulk orders in advance. They have seasonal feature items on the endcap and they sell loads of teas. However, my favorite part of the store is definitely their spices. They have all sorts of spices and I usually buy one I’ve never heard of and later research a dish I can make with it. For being atypical spices I feel its a super cheap price at 1.50. Overall, I recommend this place to anyone on the Peninsula as the SE side has stores just as great, dare I say better ( Heritage in Va Beach + Organic Depot in Norfolk). But for NN its a great little find way better than the health food store in yorktown.

Nespresso Boutique – Menu with Prices – 9585 SW Washington Square Rd, Portland

Recently I’ve been in this store for a few times in order to get a discounted machine, and very disappointed for my visits. I so much agree with other customers’ reviews that some of the sales in this store were so rude and arrogant and shouldn’t have been in the retail business. I felt so unwelcome and uneasy each time when I stepped in. There were usually two senior blonde hair ladies and one young male. The young male was the one best in this store, although probably not as good as sales clerks in other business. One of the ladies was OK, willing to at least spend sometime explaining the machines for us. There was just one lady that we indeed cannot accept her attitude. She never made eye contact to us and each time showed us a cold face like saying “you are not good enough to come drink coffee in our store”. And I think everyone knows which lady I am talking about here. The last time as I stopped by the store in order to try a new flavor, this lady happened to stand there serving customers for free trials. She kept talking with another couple of customers without even one glance on me. I was standing so close to her in front of the counter and she totally ignored me for three minutes without one word greeting or anything. I finally just gave up and turned away. As just I was turning away another old white male customer came up right beside me to her counter, and guess what, the gorgeous blonde lady immediately said “HI HELLO HOW ARE YOU” to the man, just behind my shoulder. She has a great taste to pick up customers to serve. Great experience. I would like to find more places to complain about this amazing sales lady.

Elias Market Menu with Prices 101 Tilghman St, Allentown

I’ve recently discovered even more amazing goodness here – finally branching out beyond the quality cheap produce. Elias carries many varieties of spices, Elias brand, as well as a whole aisle of Olive Tree Spices (located on 12th St). I’ve stopped by Olive Tree Spices before hoping to buy spices but found out they only do wholesale so it’s great to know they can be found here for crazy cheap prices!! The “Afghan bread” tempted me too much so one day I bought one to try – it’s pretty good. Much thicker and fluffier than I expected. Also tried lots of their different varieties of pitas and flat breads and they’re all decent. My latest and favorite find is masala naan, less than four bucks for 10 of them – absolutely delicious with some cream cheese, double creme brie, lamb saag, or anything your heart desires! Go check it out! 10/14/2011 My previous review. Fresh produce at cheap prices. My family shops here at least twice a week. It’s where we go for any vegetables and herbs we use often because it sure beats the prices in any other grocery stores. I’ve often stopped by for 4-5 heads of lettuce (red, green, romaine, & iceberg), a few caps of portabella, a bag of baby carrots, a big head of napa cabbage, oranges, apples, bananas, whatever berries that are in season, and sometimes plantain and a few potatoes and I will walk out that door with 4-5 bagfuls of grocery for maybe $15.xx. Those will last me for awhile. You just have to learn how to pick your produce so you’re not getting the ones that are going to spoil in a day or two. There’s always bread from Egypt Star Bakery available if you’re not up for the 1 minute walk over the actual store itself. Lots of different canned goods from lots of different ethnic groups available too. They even have meat and poultry but I’ve honestly only ever shopped for the produce so I can’t give a review on those.

Amy’s Merkato – Menu with Prices – 5710 Rainier Ave S, Seattle

Amy’s Merkato is an excellent Ethiopian restaurant as well as small market that contains all sorts of wonderful things that await the customer. The woman behind the counter was One of the owners and she was so helpful and polite. I specifically came here to find the spices for making Ethiopian tea and not only did they have the spice mix at a reasonable price, but they also had Ethiopian black tea! I’m so I bought the spices and the tea as well as a few other items. The smell market area also has some Ethiopian coffee as well as snacks, spices and even sone Ethiopian kitchenware, including coffee sets for the Ethiopian tea Ceremony. The selection is not huge but they also have injera if you want to purchase some and take it home. I bought an Ethiopian tea while I was waiting and examining the spices. The owner told me that there was no star anise in the mix I purchased because many people complained about the licorice taste, but she added some in for me at no extra cost. I’m a fan of anise and I also wanted the tea to taste as it did in Ethiopia. Just so you know, when I got home I made the tea and took just a little bit of the spices and put them in a mortar and pestle and then added them to the tea. Wow, the tea was perfect! I also decided to get a meat and veggie sampler for lunch to go and it was perfect. Not only was there a lot but I also was given more than enough injera, the Ethiopian bread to go with it. I also recommend that you try some of their deserts. The baklava was great! Superb tea, great food, excellent dessert and fantastic service. I give this place five stars! Please check this place out and make sure you get a tea!

The Well at Brookwood – Menu with Prices – 9014 Brookwood Church Way, Shreveport

Great coffee drinks. Good hours. Friendly environment. Lots of seats and free wifi. When you get in there you mostly forget that you are in a church. It feels more like a coffee shop in a Christian book store. I have been there and had to wait for someone to show up to take my order, but that seems to be the exception and not the rule. Only other things I would change: put a door directly into the coffee area and put more windows in there, I like to see outside when enjoying my coffee.

Kurabi Bubble Tea – Menu with Prices – 3821 Airport Blvd Ste. A, Mobile

I used to like hanging out at Kurabi when they first opened. It’s very nice and chill. Good spot if you want to hangout with friends because they have board games and card games you can use for free! They also have free wifi if you need to study but some nights there are game tournaments happening and it gets so loud. They have lots of drink flavors to choose from and you can also customize the sugar level of your drink! If you’re unsure which one to get, they have free taste of certain flavors ? They have numerous add-ins too but I just always get the tapioca pearls. They also have some goodies you can munch on. Taking one star off because the store had been crazy (see picture attached). It’s full of different stuff which makes the store look so messy. I wish they can clear things out or at least hide it behind the game shelf. Nonetheless, it’s still a great spot for boba. The crews are friendly and patient with my indecisiveness (I know, it’s embarrassing haha) Try it when you get a chance!

Dreamland BBQ Huntsville – Menu with Prices – 3855 University Dr NW, Huntsville

My friend suggested Dreamland BBQ for lunch so we went to check it out. Service was extremely fast on this wednesday. I got a chicken bbq sandwich and my friend got the combo plate where he chose ribs and 2 sides. They also offered us bread and sauce as a free appetizer… I didn’t know that was a thing! My sandwich came out and the portion is massive. It tasted alright, but I wish we had the chance to choose our own bbq sauce. I’m not really sure I liked my bbq sauce on this chicken… it didn’t blow me away with any flavors. My friend also asked them for spicy bbq and apparently we already had it at the table (the sauce for the bread appetizer). It wasn’t that hot… overall, nice atmosphere and decent lunch spot for bbq. The total came out to be only about $25! I might return, might not. Dreamland is decent but nothing special.
