Ordered a cake with 24 hours notice for our companies 1 year anniversary. Got a call from the owner 9 hours later letting me know that they won’t be able to finish the cake in time for pick up, and that they confirmed the order without double checking the pick up time. I let her now that it’s really short notice for them to let me know about this issue, and tried to make other arrangements but to no prevail, as I needed the cake before noon. She called me back 20 minutes later letting me know that if the cake isn’t ready in time, they will give us a carrot cake instead and a refund. Came in to pick up the carrot cake this morning, and the young lady that helped me (black/brown curly hair, long eyelashes) wasn’t pleasant at all. She was very short spoken and seemed annoyed by me. Didn’t show me the cake, just put it in a box and gave it to me. “Is this the carrot cake?” I asked her. Every reply was a “Yep.” They also didn’t give me a refund on the credit card used, just cash and no receipt. The cake that was substituted was tiny and so dry (this cake is old), no one wanted to eat it. So now, we’re grabbing a cake somewhere else last minute, which is what I feared we’d have to do. I called the owner this morning to update her about the lack of customer service I experienced in store, as well as the experience we had with the carrot cake itself. She felt it was necessary to talk over me, to the point that I had to ask her to stop so she could at least hear what I had to say. Although they did try to make up for their mistake, I am extremely disappointed in the fact that they gave us an old cake along with a horrible attitude. The owner did offer to make another cake free of charge, but I’m not interested. Definitely do not recommend.

Order delivered was missing a taco and a jarritos soda. My money had been taken for these but no food. They will not give me my food or service and or refund my money. I’ll update this if the situation ever changes. ** added a star since they responded so fast on here ** no refund yet though. I will update if this changes**update** refund was given the owner seems much more friendly then the staff at the store. Added another star but i would work with the in house staff to give better customer service. Possibly take some pointers from Chick-fil-a.

Nothing Bundt Cakes – Menu with Prices – 13420 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park

My friend ordered and paid 5 dozen carrot cake mini bundts for her mom’s celebration of life service on Monday. On Saturday, 45 minutes before i was supposed to pick them they called her. They said they only had 2 1/2 dozen carrot ones but they would give other flavors the remaining 2 1/2 dozen they didn’t have. I went to pick them up and spoke with the manager. He didn’t offer an apology but instead made the excuse that they were so busy this morning that the line went out the door. I said she pre-ordered them 6 days ago, why didn’t they make them beforehand and set them aside? He had no comment. I will never order cakes from there since they don’t guarantee you’ll get what you PAID for in advance. They contacted my friend and refunded her all of her money.

If you want to pay for what you didnâ??t order and get terrible customer service this is your place to go. I went on a Wednesday to order a birthday cake for Friday, and the worker told me that I could take the one on the fridge. I then asked her the day it was made and she told me “on Monday”. I told her I wouldnâ??t want a 5 day old cake on Friday. Then she told me they could make a fresh one by Friday. I specifically asked her to put â??Happy Birthday ___â?, she said that it wasnâ??t a problem, she even wrote it the receipt, which I still have. She was eager to charge me so she asked me to pay right there and then. I go Friday to pick up the cake and she quickly came to the door and gave it to me. I placed it on my van and left. I get home and see that itâ??s missing the wording, so I called the owner. I told her the situation and this is the senseless excuse she gave me â??well, you ordered it by Friday and my husband was so busy running errands that I didnâ??t have time do itâ?. I told her that that was not my problem, that I had ordered in advanced. I stated that I was not wanting a refund or anything, I just wanted to let her know of the situation. Just out of curiosity, I asked her if the cake was the one she made on Monday. She rudely insisted that she was not going to refund the money and that there was nothing wrong with the cake that it was â??just missing wordingâ?. Of course, this lady was missing my point and she never apologized.

This place is horrible. I have ordered from them numerous times out of convenience since they’re only 3 blocks away from my house and delivery is free. However , I am now officially done with them. And you guys should be too! They have the WORST communication. Within the past 3 months they have been messing up my orders. One example is they ran out of my wine selection instead of calling me with that update they made me wait 3 hours when I followed up wondering where my order was to then inform me that they didn’t have that in stock and would I want something else of equivalent value instead. Hmm you would think they would be the one to reach out first but nope that’s not their style. My next example is on a Saturday morning I had a birthday luncheon that started at 3 pm. I placed my order around noon. They didn’t have then and still don’t have now (even after I requested it via the phone and via email) their hours of delivery. So, after waiting (and being late to this luncheon) I called since it was now 2:30 pm. They claimed they don’t start deliveries until 2 pm. Hmmm wouldn’t that be something important to inform your customers who are ordering from you so they can plan ahead. Well clearly to them it wasn’t. My next example is I placed an order at 10 pm on a weekday and they close at 12 A.M. 12:15 A.M. hits and they still didn’t deliver my order they claimed I never placed it. I provided them the order number and they suddenly found it and delivered it at 12:30 A.M. why are you now coming to my apartment that late? It’s unacceptable. FINALLY THE MOST RECENT AND CHERRY ON TOP OF WHY THEY LOST ME AS A CUSTOMER is the fact that today Monday December 3rd I placed an order at 9:43 pm. They charged my card and gave me my confirmation of my order via email. It is now 12:28 am and I still haven’t received my wine. I just emailed them and asked for a refund. And informed them that for someone who lives so close and is a regular customer their lack of reliability and communication is what has caused them to lose me as a customer. With so many wine stores that offer a delivery service I’m not going to put up with their poor delivery services and lack of apologies for their constant mistakes. So goodbye world of wines you have now lost another customer.

Mocha Bakery – Menu with Prices – 2156 W Northwest Hwy #302, Dallas

I contacted Mocha Bakery after being put in a REALLY bad spot and they came through for me like a team of SUPERHEROES!!! I had made a reservation with another bakery for a birthday cake for my significant other. Process was fine, paid my deposit two weeks in advance, etc., etc. So the day of the birthday I call the bakery in the morning so I could make arrangements to pick up the cake. The bakery proceeded to tell me that their oven had been down for two days and they were not going to be able to fulfill my order. I LOST IT! What about a call the day before to let me know they were having issues?!?! I got nothing! I had to call them to find this out! To top it off, the lady acted like by refunding me my deposit she was doing ME a favor! Suffice it to say, I was freaked out and upset. I know that most places require 48 hrs notice at the minimum to get a cake together. Here I am on the day of the birthday and I am going to have NO BIRTHDAY CAKE for my SO! I decided to leave work a couple of hours early so I could at least stop at a grocery story and pick up a generic cake and write her name on it. On a whim, I decided to give a stab at calling around to a few places to see if they might have a spare cake on hand so I could at least show up with something halfway decent. The ran a quick search on Yelp and the closest place to my location happened to be Mocha. I called there expecting the worst and instead got my knight in shining armor to the rescue, Henry! I gave him a brief description of my plight and he indicated that he might be able to help me out. I got to the bakery and explained what I needed and how I came to be in such a desperate need of help. Not only did Henry offer to whip up a last minute cake for me in 3 hours, he also gave me a slight discount due to the circumstances! I was FLOORED! When I went to pick up the cake I was ECSTATIC! Raul and Sonya did a FABULOUS job! The cake was VERY beautiful and just from the look it was worth the price! I also later found out that it was EXTREMELY tasty as well! The crew took some of my brief suggestions(color, flavor, look) and really made a last-minute MASTERPIECE! I promised the gang that they would certainly get ALL of my future bakery business and excellent reviews and recommendations to friends and strangers alike! Those guys and gals came together like a TEAM OF SUPERHEROES and SAVED MY DAY! Thanks Mocha!

Horrible customer service from shift leader/manager during opening hours. Visited this location around mid December to pick up a replacement order previously called in, even called that morning before heading there to verify everything was good to go and was assured it was. But upon arriving there it all changed. After stating my purpose for being there the MOD overheard and took over the transaction. She apparently wasn’t having the best morning by the looks of her unprepared face and snobbish attitude and she felt like lashing out against whoever crossed her path. Or maybe she profiled me and didnt like “who she thought” I was. Or maybe she’s psychic and knew i wouldn’t piss on her with another dudes D and that infuriated her making her act the way she did. Who knows why she would refuse to replace my order, even with 2 seperate confirmations of replacement on 2 different days? Who knows? Not me, but i do know that she unfairly discriminated against me and refused to correct the errors they had made and cost her company a frequent customer and a lot of future revenue…sorry cant recall her name but avoid this troll and her nasty attitude.

Lulu’s Sweet Shoppe – Menu with Prices – 28 Parmenter St, Boston

I chose to go with Lulu’s based on the number of five star reviews that I read here. This was not a convenient choice, as I live on the North Shore, but made the trip with very high hopes. I ordered a cake for my best friend’s birthday party, and spoke with the owner a week in advance to ensure everything would be spelled correctly. I was also told that the box would have a bow, and come in a bag making it easy to transport. I felt at ease and trusted our conversation would allow the pickup to be seamless. Because I work weekdays, I sent my brother to pick up the cake. He called to inform me that not only was there no bow on the box and no bag provided, but my best friend’s name was misspelled. I didn’t have time to make it back into the store. I had to fix the lettering myself. When I spoke with the owner to express these issues, I was told I would receive a full refund which I found fair. I appreciated the fact that she wanted to resolve these oversights. However, I never received a refund. I am deeply disappointed because I had such high hopes for this experience. I went far out of my way to get this cake from Lulu’s and I wish I had stuck with a local bakery. Certainly will in the future.

Update 4/11/19: The effort that the restaurant has taken to ensure the customer satisfaction has been phenomenal. I received a call from the restaurant regarding the incident and they wanted to ensure that I have been taken care of by Grubhub and to explain the situation they have encountered. Even when a mistake has been encountered, they have shown me that they are willing to go the extra mile to provide the best customer satisfaction they can. I will be adding another star to the review as the reply and action to this issue has been so swift on your end. To provide you with more details on my end: 1st time I reached out to Grubhub (8:28pm incident) – I asked for a refund on the item we didnt receive. When Grubhub rep called me back, he let me know that the restaurant will be cooking the Pad See You and redelivering this to us. I agreed with the rep and said I will take the food that is being redelivered to us instead of the refund. 2nd time I reached out to Grubhub (9:15pm incident) – I let Grubhub know that I did not want the food delivered at this point and only wanted a refund. Grubhub said they had to call the restaurant to confirm that you guys were closed. This is when the Grubhub rep came back and told me the food will not be delivered. Instead, Grubhub will be refunding the amount of the Pad See You. I have received a confirmation email regarding the refund from Grubhub. Hopefully this can assist with your investigation with Grubhub services. Driver came earlier than what was labeled on order tracker page (1 positive experience). Unfortunately, we received two pad thais. I called grubhub so we can have the Pad See You redelivered to us. Grubhub rep called the restaurant and called me back within 10 minutes. The grubhub rep let me know the restaurant told him that they were preparing the food now and will deliver the Pad See You in 10minutes. That was 8:28pm when the rep called. It was 9:15pm when I called grubhub again because the food still has not arrived. By this time, the restaurant was labeled as “closed” according to yelp. The grubhub rep reached back out to the restaurant. After 10 minutes, I was informed by grubhub that the restaurant did not even start preparing the food because they ran out of the ingredients. Running out of ingredients? Understandable. Lying about redelivering in 10 minutes and not informing anyone that they decided not to hold up their end of this transaction? Unacceptable. I will not be ordering again from a restaurant that lies to their customers and, apparently, cannot process orders correctly.

First off I’d like to say that the delivery men are great. Very friendly and helpful. Great service from them. However the lady ( I won’t say her name) in the office is beyond rude. Not professional and always has a bad attitude. Whoever sends out monthly order sheets only gave 12 hours to complete it through email that can only be accessed by a terminal. Kind of Rediculus. Then called to yell at my staff for not completing the form when my staff have no part of monthly orders. When you only give 12 hours notice that’s what happens. We all knew holidays were coming all year so maybe next year and this Christmas season give more than 12 hours notice to complete orders.

Las Canelitas Bakery – Menu with Prices – 1527 Broadway, Rockford

Let me start off by saying, if I could give this place 0 stars I would because that is what they deserved for the very bad service and treatment the owner gave me. I have ordered from them a few times previously and didn’t have a problem but this last time was the last! The cake I ordered was for my baby girls birthday party#2 I took at picture (on my phone) into them twice and asked if they could match it, she said yes! Day of my daughters bday picked up the cake before the guests arrived and pics below is what I got- a smashed corner color was completely wrong, spots on it and I had also asked to have the #2 written on it which was not! Not to mention the cake was dry. I had no choice but to accept the cake on the day of our party, next morning spoke with the owner and she had the balls to tell me that I didn’t get the turn out for guests that we were expecting and this is why I was making a big deal, I took them the cake and left it there before I actually got to speak with her. After a very long conversation of arguing trying to get some kind of compensation she basically told me she would not refund my money and she would not make me a new cake the same size, so I asked then make me another cake the same size of what was left, which she would not do either, the only way she agreed was to make a quarter sheet cake. Just want to let everyone know the type of bad business run here. #WillNeverBuyFromHereAgain

The worst customer Service I’ve dealt with in a long time. So it was at about 715 this evening when my brother, my fiancee and I entered the establishment for the 1.00 tacos. I ordered 7 chicken tacos and a queso and jalapeno tamal and to wash it down an agua de pina. After waiting a solid ten minutes to get are food they finally called our number? After taking a bite from the smaller than average tamal my fiancee realized that it was pork and not what she ordered. Then After having to return the already bittin tamal and waiting an additional 10 minutes they finally brought out tamal #2 we thought forsure it would be the correct item but we were wrong! So now its been at least 20 minutes and we realize it was now a chicken tamal, still not what she ordered. After questioning why it was still the wrong tamal we were made to wait a good 3 to 5 minutes of stares and clueless looks. The cashier decides to come all the way to the table to ask what the problem was!?!?!?!? As if she was clueless to what was happening! Lol She didnt really offer any solution to the situation except t ok take the half eaten tamal alway and offer a “free” drink.i mentioned to her that that was not the proper offer considering all the wasted time and the ridiculousness of a free drink when there was sti a paid tamal unaccounted for. After a lil bickering back and fourth she financially stormed away while mumbling some that had the word refund under her breath like she had just been sent to her room! It still took an additional 10 minutes before we had to ask again about the refund before she finally got permission to give us a refund. Now its not about the 2.35 we got back rudely its about the lack of customer service and the lack of experience with customers. Id probably go back because i like some of there juices but it definitely won’t be this location. Btw she said her name started with a V. But i have a feeling she lied about that considering how immaturely she handled the problem.

Karen Donatelli Bakery & Café Menu with Prices 57 Haywood St, Asheville

My family, who live all over the country, were converging in Asheville, NC, for my father’s 85th birthday. One of my sisters looked up bakeries in the area so we could order a cake ahead of time and pick it up once we were there. After careful consideration she selected Karen Donatelli Bakery & Cafe and ordered two cakes – a carrot cake and a chocolate cake. We stopped in on Saturday, June 8 to pick them up and could not have been more pleased. Not only was the bakery charming in and of itself, but the cakes… the cakes were works of art. They were truly lovely, beautifully decorated. Later that evening, after dinner, we brought out the cakes, lit the candles and cut and served the cakes. The carrot cake was one of the most moist and delicious carrot cakes we’d ever tasted. The chocolate was sublime. We enjoyed both very much and appreciated all the time, care, skill and artistry that went into them. Well done! Highly recommend!
