I love that their coffee doesnt taste burnt like other places. Plus when they make my white chocolate americano, they completely stir everything. I notice a lot of coffee shops just throw the stuff in there and make u mix it. It doesnt matter who is working; the coffee is always consistently the same and made correct. Its just a bonus they are all kind and efficient!

Ladybug Bikini Espresso – Menu with Prices – 11603 Pacific Ave S, Tacoma

Not sure what kind of scam they’re running but stop to get an Americano and they ended up insisting that it was $7. Really!? I’ve never paid $7 for Americano even in an airport or at a concert. Maybe she was scamming me or maybe they’re expecting me to pay for the show but sad to report she wasn’t much to look at. If I’m going to pay $7 for a simple americano coffee they better have better looking girls working their “bikini coffee drive-thru”…….

Lasaters Coffee & Tea – Menu with Prices – 589 S Riverside Dr, Clarksville

I was in town for work and needed a good coffee. Well I also needed something to eat. So I stopped here because I do try my best not to eat or drink at chain places as much as possible. I pulled up and ordered an Americano and a bacon/egg/cheese bagel. If I based my experience off of just the customer service and the coffee this would have been a 5 star visit. I did order a bagel… Yes I know what was I thinking ordering breakfast at a coffee shop that I didn’t know if they make everything or not. Well by the taste of it the egg was a premade egg, the bacon was microwave bacon the cheese was unknown but the bagel didn’t taste bad, it could have been off the cisco truck or local bakery I was not sure since all I could taste was the over cooked egg and greasy bacon. But this should be about the coffee… the Americano was perfect, it was just the right about of espresso and hot water. I mean it was perfect. I would gladly come back just for the Americano. If back in town again I will come here and order another, maybe even one for the drive home.

The Grounds – Menu with Prices – 5000 W Bell Rd, Glendale

We have come here a handful of times always fine , takes a while for simple drinks though. Love the fact you have red bull. (The reason for one star) Went today, was a busier day, as three people came over and told us and said sorry its really busy today sorry it’s taking a long time. We were there for 30 minutes for two drinks… we reached the window, when greeted with “what drinks did you have”. My boyfriend’s drink came out once we told them. Then minutes later they ask me again what the other drink was. Told them the medium americano. They came out with a hot americano , I first ordered a “iced medium white chocolate americano, extra sweet”. So they made me another one. It was a “warm” iced americano no sweeter… So they tried again, with something that looked ok. I gave up and said it’s fine. I would think they took the first hot Americano remade it and poured it in a iced cup with a couple ice cubes. Then went to remake it again and poured out half and added white chocolate and more ice. Very horrible today. Will have to second guess coming again. Disappointed.. you need to learn to make drink.

Blue Bottle Coffee – Menu with Prices – 18 S Fair Oaks Ave, Pasadena

TL:DR – Good coffee that lives up to it’s name. I love a simple Americano because you can best taste the flavor of the beans. ————– Originally from Oakland, CA, Blue bottle coffee has slowly migrated into Southern California. They are known for their high quality of coffee and are considered to be one of the companies in the “third wave of coffee.” I’m a simple coffee man; a good pour over or a good espresso fills my soul with such joy. I have nothing against cappucinos or lattes, I just like to taste the flavor of the beans and Blue Bottle always comes correct. If Intelligentsia’s beans are a little bit more on the roasted side, and Go Get Em Tiger is more on the acidic side, Blue Bottle is right in the middle. It starts off acidic and then ends with a round earthy flavor. I really dig the taste of their coffee and always find myself sipping from an empty cup way too quickly. The store front is kind of small, the door swings inward into the line and causes quite a traffic jam when it gets busy. There is only seating for about 7 people inside, but on the outside there is a couple of tables and benches which on a cool day should be fine. Like the other Blue Bottle locations, the ambiance is this laid back sterile look that, depending on the customer can either be very Apple, or very Ikea. Personally, I like the minimal look, it’s not pretentious and let’s the customer know that they are focused on the coffee. If you’ve never had Blue Bottle before, I would definitely give it a try, I’m sure you’ll be surprised.

Voyager Espresso – Menu with Prices – 110 William St Lower Level, New York

Best Americano in the financial district hands down, no debate, no question, don’t @ me. I’ve worked in the area for years, been to every coffee shop that has more than 3 stars on Yelp, and after discovering Voyager I doubt I’ll ever return elsewhere and I’m of the opinion that none of them deserve to be within 1 star of this place. They are the definition of above and beyond, the opposite of a tourist trap. From the second you walk in you’re greeted by an outgoing and friendly staff member, not a dejected college student ignoring you while ranting to another customer about Bernie Sanders then taking more than five minutes to make an Americano when you’re the only customer there (true story). The first day I went, there were free samples of the banana & cinnamon nutella toast which were the kind of thing a basic white girl would describe as “like crack.” The Americano was offered in 3 options, light, medium, or dark, and it was refreshing to see that level of customization offered when you’re paying a premium, something I’ve never seen offered elsewhere nearby. I went with medium. The free toast sample and friendly atmosphere would mean nothing if the drink itself wasn’t perfection, which it was! I can’t say if I’ve ever had such a rich and smooth Americano with absolutely no bitterness or acidic flavor. I’m of the opinion that, unless you’re balling out of control in which case go for it, a nice coffee shop like this should be a once a week treat due to the price. Price-wise, you’d be delusional to expect a cheap coffee drink at any sort of premium shop in NYC, but to my shock their 12oz. Americano cost less than inferior 8oz. Americano’s at other places in the area which will remain nameless. This place is seriously the best kept secret of FiDi in terms of coffee, and I’m so glad I found it and can give it yet another well-deserved 5 star review!

Stacked Breakfast and Lunch – Menu with Prices – 6015 82nd St #5, Lubbock

So this is my second time to eat at this relatively new restaurant. I went about a month apart and not much had changed. The atmosphere was wonderful but both times my coffee has tasted burnt. I sat at the bar today and couldn’t help but notice the office that had been set up there. A constant problem at my restaurant is that we have no place for servers to be when they have nothing to do but Stacked handles this well. When my food came out I was asked if it was correct and if there was anything I needed I said no, so a believe I am partially at fault for getting has instead of the home fries that I ordered. But no amount of amazingly flavored bacon can make up for a very over cooked egg, I ordered over medium and cut through the yolk with no run. This was caped by my French Toast being under cooked. Overall not a bad experience but they still have some kinks to work out.

Caffe Montage – Menu with Prices – 7176 Edinger Ave, Huntington Beach

You know a place is pretty good when it’s already poppin’ on a Monday afternoon (on this day, I assume the patrons were mostly students from Goldenwest College, as they appeared young and “with it”). The only seats remaining for my companion and I to claim were the ones nearest to the bookshelf. If you’re looking for a Starbucks-style, corporate vibe where the barista obviously hates their life, and the generic drinks all basically taste the same (lookin’ at you, over-sweetened Frappucinos), this is not the coffee shop you should visit. It’s like the complete opposite, actually. The barista here is super personable and takes his time to help customers choose what to drink. He even learned our names (that’s a thing I had to do at my old retail job). My companion ordered the Americano, and I was all aboard the Chungking Express. Another thing I like about this place is how the bevs are legit handcrafted — the barista makes sure everything is on point. During the process, the barista asked me about the type of milk I wanted — either whole or oat. Because the latter conjured bittersweet feelings of my love/hate relationship with oatmeal, I settled on the former. In the end, my drink was both flavorful and refreshing — which is unusual given my exp with coffee-based bevs. My companion kept stealing sips from my cup, and ultimately enjoyed his Americano. We were lounging at the shop for at least 20 min, and everything was chill. Bonus points for including Nujabes in the coffee shop music playlist!

Bistro at the Pier – Menu with Prices – 200 The Strand N, Oceanside

The staff is very welcoming and friendly. They have a great selection, and everything I have tried has been fantastic. The caramel macchiato, the americano, and a couple of muffins *chocolate, and blueberry* It’s located right off the beach, and the views are awesome. I have come down here to get coffee almost every day because this is the best coffee I’ve found in Oceanside! Well done Bistro At The Pier!

Coffee Junction Menu with Prices 401 Harris Ave, Bellingham

The worst customer service I’ve ever had anywhere. I am not a complainer or even a fussy customer, but wow, for the first time ever I really was so pissed and offended. We got coffee here before our train trip. There was one barista; she was alone and busting her ass, so I gave her a 40% tip. After taking a couple sips of my coffee and having to open it and check to see if there was actually espresso shots in it (or if maybe she had forgotten them) AND having my sister taste it to see if I was just being a coffee snob, I brough it back to the barista to see if I could get a new drink, because mine tasted like water. She extremely rude and defensively said “it’s an americano… it has water in it.” I very politely explained, “yes, but it doesnt taste like coffee at all.” At this point she stopped making eye contact with me, said “what do you want?” Trying to not to be ‘that customer’ I asked for a drip, thinking that was a good deal because it was half the price. She didnt even respond to me, as she got it. I asked if it was ok if I still get a pump of hazelnut in it. She said “yup” still not looking at me, put the pump and a lid on it, handing it to me, I said thank you, then she told me it would be $1.90. This is where I started to get pissed. Clearly confused and upset I said “I’m sorry, you’re going to charge me…?” In a super condescending voice she laughed our, ” I cant just give you free coffee.” (Which she had literally just done, topping off the mans cup, in front of me). I tossed my card on the counter. She ran it and had the nerve to toss it back. I didnt have the time or restraint to give her a piece of my mind so I left. I will NEVER get coffee here again. Not because their coffee is gross, but because I have never experienced such hostility from someone when I’m nicely and apologetically asking for a replacement for an item I PAID FOR. Luckily all the train employees were fantastically nice and really redeemed the experience. But wow.

Muldoon’s Hand Roasted Office Coffee – Menu with Prices – 5680 Timberlea Blvd, Mississauga

Note: There is NO TAX for your purchase of consumable goods here, e.g. coffee, tea. Hidden gem! I’ve been meaning to check out Mississauga’s coffee roasting scene, so after running out of beans, today was the day! I had a list of 3 places on my list that were coincidentally all in the 403/Tomken Rd. area. On the side of the building, Muldoon’s has a side entrance into their outlet store. They sell coffee machines, filters, Keurig pods, boxes of tea, & of course, coffee beans. At the back of their store, there is an automatic coffee maker and you are able to taste test the various flavours/roasts before you commit to a bag of beans! Ashley was very helpful and I tasted 3 different coffees before I decided what beans that I wanted. Since it’s primarily me who drinks coffee at home, I didn’t want a full lbs, so I got just under 11oz for $5! To give you an idea, the last bag of beans that I purchased was around the same size for $10USD. So you save more than 50% and there’s NO TAX. They also have a loyalty programme where you get a stamp for every $20 you spend and get a free bag of beans on your 6th visit. After this experience, I don’t think I’ll ever buy coffee beans at retail prices! Bonus: None of the beans have been roasted more than a week ago! Another Bonus?: Their coffee cups are biodegradable. And they are trying to phase out the K cups because they’re not environmental.

Magic Beans Coffee Roasters – Menu with Prices – 501 W 6th St, Lexington

I have Magic Beans shipped to me regularly in Alexandria, VA. I used to get beans from a couple of places in my area that also sell fresh-roasted, single-origin beans – and which I thought were pretty great – until I tried Magic Beans. Now I don’t want to drink any other coffee ever. Magic Beans isn’t just better than cheap diner coffee and corporate mega-chain coffee. Its better than anything you’ve ever had anywhere. Its worth mail-ordering, and actually even with shipping its cheaper than some places I’ve bought from in person. I promise you, no matter how great you think your current favorite coffee place is, until you’ve had Magic Beans, you don’t even really know what coffee is supposed to taste like. And yes, I’m also talking to those of you who already buy fancy, single-origin, coffee from hipster places that only do pour-overs, etc. Dump out the coffee you’re drinking right now and go order some Magic Beans.

Georgia Street Grind – Menu with Prices – 1001, 25 W Georgia St #101, Indianapolis

This is one of my favorite coffee shops in Indy. The baristas are always friendly, and they are expert drink makers. I normally get either a latte or an americano. They have both been delicious every time I have stopped in. They sell while been coffee there, as well. They have their own blend, which is really good. My last americano from there was made with their signature blend, and it had great flavor at the top middle and end of each drink. They also had a couple coffees from other roasters (including Blue Mind, which is a great local roaster). They sell sodas by the bottle, too. My family likes Sprecher root beer and cream soda, so I will sometimes grab that, too. One thing to know before you go: There isn’t any seating in the coffee shop, so everything is “to go.” Having said that, they are located right on Georgia Street about a half block from Pan Am plaza, so there plenty of places to hang out and sit outside on a nice day. I recommend Georgia Street Grind without hesitation.
