I stumbled upon this place by complete accident and I’m glad I did! I was actually concerned with how modern it was that the food would be less than authentic, high ceilings, black wall to wall and a very open space. My fears were completely unfounded. I ordered the Tofu Vegetable Rice Noodle soup which was one of several veg options, yay choices! Now a lot of places dial in their vegetarian dishes but not so here! Piping hot flavourful clean broth with TONNES of vegetables not just your standard broccoli, carrot, onion and a few sad mushrooms. The service is simple but efficient, my order came in less than 10 minutes. The servers didn’t check on me after my order arrived which is the only reason it’s not a 5 star review, really it’s a four and half because nothing else could be faulted. I also received free tea, something that’s becoming rarer at some Pho places, and a side of beansprouts with that yummy aniseedy Thai fresh mint. At just over $15 including tip I will be back!

Dallis Steakhouse Express – Menu with Prices – 3320 Glendale Ave, Toledo

This was very bad. I ordered the sirloin cooked medium with mushrooms and onion, baked potato with bacon and cheese, and asparagus. The steak was just about half an inch thick, and half of it was well done, the other half was medium. Low quality meat. There were no grill marks or anything so i assume it was microwaved or thrown straight in the oven. They forgot my mushrooms and onion, and when i went back to get them, they started to retrieve them from already made bins of mushroom and onion. The asparagus had no sort of sign of it being cooked either, besides it being warm, even though the restaurant said they sauté the asparagus. And the baked potato was precooked from hours before i received it, and they didnt even have real bacon bits! The staff was very nice however.

Williamsburg Deli Menu with Prices 2900 N Sycamore St, Arlington

I passed by this place for years without stopping, but then I read the reviews on this site. A four-star eatery a block and a half from my house? I just had to check it out. Unfortunately, I found it to be a typical run-of-the-mill deli. Not bad at all, but not anything special either. At the end of the day, it’s just sandwiches. Some reviews mentioned the Philly cheese steak, so I ordered the deluxe, which comes with mushrooms and green peppers for a dollar more. The sandwich was good, and I very much liked the bread. However, it was light on the cheese, mushrooms and green peppers, so that extra dollar was pretty much wasted money. The onion rings and crinkle fries were good but pretty standard. Not a bad place to grab a quick sandwich, but also nothing worth getting too excited about. And FYI, there are only about four tables in the whole place, so one should come expecting to order as take-out.

Papa Murphy’s Take ‘N’ Bake Pizza – Menu with Prices – 5171 E Kings Canyon Rd, Fresno

Papa Murphy’s is a take and bake, so as said you order your pizza, take it home, and bake it in your oven. What I like about this, it that the dough is freshly made and the toppings are packed generously. When I order, I cannot go bigger than a large, because my wall oven is just too small for the family size. Baking instructions come with the pizza, and it only takes like 13 minutes or so, depending on your oven. Normally, I order the Cowboy, which consists of mushroom, black olives, sausage, and pepperoni. There is a nice garlic and parmesan seasoning that’s sprinkled on top and gives it a tasty flavor. This last time, I also ordered half cheese, half pepperoni thin crust for the kiddos. I really like thin crust because it’s crispy and I prefer to be filled with toppings and cheese versus too much dough. The employees are efficient, and my orders have always been correct when I order by phone. Recently I started ordering online, which is more simple compared to Pizza Hut’s online ordering process. I do wish that they offered delivery.

Tavern United Polo Park – Menu with Prices – 1405 St Matthews Ave, Winnipeg

The place was empty on a Friday night. Went with about 10 friends and there was only 2 other tables of two. We order drinks and it takes about 20 minutes to get them. We all order food. My wife and I didnt get our food until 45 minutes after everyone else got theirs. They finally got back to us and said some how our order didnt get processed ( they forgot) they gave my wife a bowl of chips and said we are putting your order in right now. It should be out soon. Meanwhile our whole party is finished eating so. We get our bill at the end of the evening and no comp no discount… nothing. My wife kindly mentioned our wait and if we could get compensation. They gave us a measly 7$ off our 90$ bill. With tip it still came out at 95$ I shouldnt have tipped but it comes as a habit when I go out. But the service was sub par and the serving size was terrible. If I’m paying extra for onion rings I expect more than 6. Would it recommend this location. My home location in Windsor park is 5/5 high recommended by me.

The Heights – Menu with Prices – 444 N Summit St 12th Floor, Toledo

Been here before. Great setting. Rooftop bar atop the Renaissance Hotel. Good sharable food like Calamari and an excellent cauliflower appetizer. Great wood fired open kitchen pizzas. Tacos. But:Zero Management. Zero Organization. We arrived. Nobody welcomes you… Everybody seems to find staff and ask if they can just sit anywhere. So we and three other parties simultaneously walk out onto the open outdoor seating on the rooftop. Nice spot. We all want to sit out there. Despite that it hasn’t rained for hours – all the furniture is WET! And it was the perfect evening to sit out there. How about a Manager sending some of the staff to dry off furniture for guests? Nope. We seat ourselves. Inside. We wait. We wait. Finally waiter comes up with menus. Takes our drink order – but the music is cranking so damn loud – he can’t hear us. Comes back 3 times to ask again what we ordered. (And it wasn’t guest noise. The place was less than half full). The drink my wife ordered arrived and looked NOTHING like the meticulously crafted one we saw being made by a bartender that we had talked to minutes before. Ok – so obviously no bar standards…We order the cauliflower app. Comes quickly. It’s amazing. Score! We order a cheese pizza + add mushrooms. A few minutes later our server comes to us and says that they can’t put mushrooms on our pizza. I ask why not?He says they can’t do it. I confirm that they actually have mushrooms (they offer a wild mushroom pizza!). Apparently there is a rule that you can’t add ingredients to your pizza. I kid you not. I actually went to the guy who makes thr Pizzas by the open oven and asked him to put mushrooms on my pizza and he said he had the mushrooms but wasn’t allowed. I kid you not. So… Seems like this place is more than a little lost and nobody is actually managing it. Great potential. Some basic business suggestions:1) receive and welcome people. 2) why all of the tables devoid of anything. You look like you are closing for the evening. 3) maybe leave menus out on the table. 4) wipe off the furniture when it’s wet so that your guests have someplace to sit. 5) You are a Freeking BAR on the roof of a hotel, not a 5 star restaurant – so let people order their pizza the way they want it. You know… Maybe consider the Customer? 6) Turn down the damn music. When your own servers can’t hear the customers orders – that tells you something. 7) hire an actual manager and have them walk around and Manage!

South Philly Cheesesteaks – Menu with Prices – 1439 Main St, Sarasota

Walked in here and understand they just opened to the public this week. Its an open environment with a cool brick wall on one side, and wooden/steel wall on the other. Nice wooden tables. Our server was friendly and was efficient. We had a few questions and she answered all of them quickly. I didn’t want the grilled onions or hot peppers on my large 10″ cheesesteak and wanted lettuce, tomato, and onion instead. She said no problem, but charged me $1 extra. I also wanted onion rings instead of bagged potato chips or fries and told her I would pay extra, but she said that was not possible, so I went with the fries. We also ordered a Swiss mushroom burger and sweet potato fries, but when it came out, it was with onion rings–very odd (because she originally said onion rings as an upgrade was not possible!). We eventually got our sweet potato fries that we originally ordered and she had the nerve to charge us an extra $3 for the onion rings (that we never did order). It looks like when it comes to upgrades and changes, they are a bit confused, so who knows what’s allowed. The good news is that the cheesesteak was very good tasting, although for a large, it wasn’t that big. You would think a large would be at least a foot long for $11.50. The fries were fresh cut, but tasted a bit off and dry, and they were very dark in color, along with the onion rings. Perhaps they needed to change the oil in their fryer. The sweet potato fries were okay. They also serve beer here at very reasonable prices.

A Taste of Thai Menu with Prices 11109 Old Seward Hwy Suite#6, Anchorage

Updating review due to a less-than-desirable dinner experience. I had high hopes after my lunchtime trip, but it fell short. We came in an hour and a half before close, and I got the panang again with hot sauce on the side. I had to use almost an entire container of their hot sauce to make the curry my preferred level of spice. Which is just a personal thing, but panang curry really should have SOME kind of kick to it. But the reason why I’m removing a star is we had finished eating a decent meal and needed a box and our check. We hadn’t been checked on after the food delivery yet but that was okay, we didn’t need anything. But we finished and waited…and waited…after 10 minutes we realized the wait staff was eating their OWN meal, on the other side of the restaurant. Admittedly, we were the only ones left, but there was still more than a half hour until the restaurant closed. Another 5 minutes went by, and we were put in the incredibly awkward position of deciding whether we needed to go interrupt our server’s meal to get our check or if we should just wait it out. Eventually someone caught our desperate eye contact and took care of our to go and check but it was uncomfortable enough I’d hesitate to go again other than lunchtime or a rush hour. I’d understand if we were there after close, but we try to be conscientious of the restaurant worker’s time (they want to go home, I get it!) but this was well before close.

Maria’s Sweet Deli – Menu with Prices – 149 South St A, Newark

Horrible experience!! I called to make a couple of orders for my coworkers to be delivered and the person taking the orders didnt understand the order. The 1st order was an omelet with onions, peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms and cheese. The second order was grits with cheese and 3rd order of cheese grits with scramble egg and cheese and turkey bacon as a platter. I asked for prices and they were charging me 6.00 for a veggie omelet by its self (which i didnt order) and the omelet with the ingredients that I mentioned before. I started to explain to the person on the other and of the phone that it wasnt correct and it seemed they slammed the phone on their counter and was yelling at a different person and told them to get on the phone to take the order right so im getting upset because this is happening and 30 minutes already passed and they had to take my order again but the coworkers were upset that these people were being unprofessional and started to cancel their orders. They need better

Salpicón Salvadorean Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 2252 Euclid Ave G, Ontario

I absolutely love the pupusas here, my go to’s are the chicharon con queso and the revueltas. I havent been here in about a year. I called on a Thursday and luckily they had a special of 10 for $20. Totally worth it! Of course they are delish, not too much masa. Anyway the reason for the 3 stars is the curtido doesnt taste the same as the one I was used to here. I noticed and tasted giant pieces of white onion, gross! I dont make my curtido with onion, I hate onions and I didnt kmow they had changed their recipe. It was so overpowering that it gave it a different flavor. I removed some of the pieces everytime I added curtido (which is on every pupusa). It was a little better but i was really bummed because once you taste onion or eat it, the rest of your food tastes like that. I dislike having dragon breath. I

Zero George – Menu with Prices – 0 George St, Charleston

I have waited 2 months to write this review, trying to find adjectives that don’t even exist to describe this hotel, the service and the wonderful experience we had there. My parents and I sat on the porch one evening comparing this hotel to places we’ve stayed all over the country, in Paris and London, Spain and Bermuda, etc. and none compared to Zero George. It is a completely unique hotel experience. I wouldn’t even know where to start in raving about this hotel. The staff were on hand to make sure everything was perfect, yet they were somehow invisible, making the environment seem very private. The food at the breakfast was simple and outstanding and I think anything more than what we had would be ridiculous. The rooms were beautiful and every last detail was thought out. Beautiful linens, robes and slippers. Toiletries. View. Top to bottom, wall to wall, perfection. It’s not every day you enter a luxury hotel through the kitchen, but that’s sort of how it is at Zero George. It contributes to the authenticity of the property and its history, but the kitchen itself is a marvel. You wonder, how does food for such a renowned chef and restaurant come out of this incredibly small but efficient kitchen? You have to see it to believe it. To have even a drink or tea or simple meal there is to go to Le Crueset heaven. This was a special trip for my parents’ anniversary and though we were very eager to explore beautiful Charleston, the truth is we were hard-pressed to leave the hotel each day and could barely bring ourselves to leave at the end of the day. This is a magical place. Treat yourself if you can.

The Beacon Cafe 287 – Menu with Prices – 12721 US-287 BUS, Fort Worth

This place barely deserves 1 star. My husband and I went for breakfast once morning. We arrived around 10:45am and got seated promptly. We placed our food and drink order and got or drinks right away. Both of our coffees had coffee grinds in them. Then we waited, and waited, and waited for our food. Finally after about 3 coffee refills and 40 minutes of waiting on our food we asked the waitress about our food. She apologizes and checks on our food. She comes back and says that our order is up next. We continue to wait for another 15 minutes and still no food. We tell the waitress just to bring our check for the coffee and we leave… to go eat Lunch somewhere else! Also, there was a large table next to us that was empty when we arrived and was never bused the entire time we were there.

First Watch – Durham – Menu with Prices – 5307 New Hope Commons Blvd Ext, Durham

Probably the rudest waiter i’ve ever had, middle-of-the-road food couldnt save the poor service. Decided to go somewhere new on saturday morning. Coming into the restaurant we were received with a mild greeting and seated. Our waiter arrived and asked what we’d like to drink. No welcome, no greeting, if there were specials we didnt hear about them, he did not even give his name. Because i dont have his name I can only say that he was working 7/6/19 at some point between 12 and 2 pm, was tall, overweight, slicked back short black curly hair, and he had a face like he didnt want to be there. he was waiting tables in the booth area near the windows away from the front door. We ordered our drinks, hot cocoa for them and I order sweet tea. He came back a few minutes later and wordlessly dropped them on the table, the water glasses were on the table, they remained unfilled. I was with my wife, mother-in-law and her aunt, english is not their first language and they are very picky eaters. They spent about 5 minutes reading the menu before he came by and asked what we were ordering.. I look over and my mother in law is literally in the process of squinting at the menu when he asks us this.. My wife is still reading a menu and her aunt still has one in her face as well.. no one had a menu on the table, no one was staring around idly, no one flagged him down, in no way shape or form was there a cue for him to ask us our order.. dude didnt even ask if we needed more time or had questions.. because theyre foreign theyre often uncomfortable ordering food, my wife hurries both of them through the menu while the waiter essentially stands there with an irritated demeanor and toe-taps. he takes the order and hes gone. I couldnt follow his interactions with the other tables but they didnt look like they were any better. what makes it worse is he didnt seem all that busy or rushed, while that doesnt excuse his behavior, it would have at least made it understandable. our drinks ran out and shortly after, our food arrived and it was pushed onto our table. if there was a utensil, cup, hand, cell phone, purse, whatever on the table, it was shoved out of the way by a plate.. at this point it was comical how much this dude did not give a damn. the plates were shoved onto the table and he was gone. The hot cocoa cups were empty, the water glasses still werent filled, and my tea was just ice. No drink refills, no mid-meal check up. He came by, asked if we would be splitting our check and that was the last of him. oh yeah, i forgot about the food.. Overall the food was “okay” but completely forgettable.. hell, ill only remember this place cause the waiter was a terrible host..
