Proof Kitchen is definitely the best place in Erie!!! Starting with how accommodating they were to me having a gluten allergy, they had the chef come to the table and explain everything on the menu and what I could have!! This is what all restaurants should be doing!!! Fantastic job!! Started with the roasted vegetables very simple but executed to perfection!! Tender carrots and potatoes simple seasoning which made a simple dish outstanding! Next I had the hash it was an amazing portion! All the components were cooked to perfection again! Eggs, potatoes, peppers, bacon, covered in cheese sauce = perfection! Being on a gluten free diet this was quite the treat!! Ended the best meal with the grilled pineapple just when you think it can’t get any better it does! Pineapple grilled to perfection and homemade whipped cream!! This place does everything right! Not trying to compare to other restaurants but no one in Erie is accommodating gluten free this well and presentation made for fantastic instagram pics!!!

MidiCi The Neapolitan Pizza Company – Menu with Prices – 3401 Dale Rd, Modesto

If I could leave zero stars I would. I have a severe gluten allergy and celiac disease. This restaurant offers “gluten free” items but contaminate your food at every possible chance. I came in since it says they have GLUTEN FREE options. They have signs like normal restaurants stating there is a chance for cross contamination. Which is normal. But they used the same gloves, same pizza trays, and cooked it on a flour DRENCHED stone oven. When I asked about it they laughed as if it was a joke, did not offer my $20 back and I sat starving as the rest of my group ate while I watched. If you are going to offer gluten free, maybe actually offer gluten free. Advertising saying “gluten free crust” but drenching it in gluten doesn’t do any good. 7/6/2019 @6:20pm. And I won’t be coming back. UPDATE: the owner Nick has replied and yes we did get a refund and an apology which I appreciated. My main concern for others is that an allergy is an allergy. Once that gluten free pizza touches the stone with flour on it, it is no longer gluten free. I understand many people don’t know that, but that is why people like me end up extremely sick. Maybe put a note on the door that instead of saying “possibility of cross contamination” it should say “our gluten free products are no longer gluten free once cooked in our stone oven” It is just for safety. I understand you try your best, but “your best” can get someone hospitalized. Just as if someone was allergic to shellfish and you cook their steak on a grill that just had shellfish on it…..well now they will be in the hospital. you are trying your best, but your best isn’t even close for someone with an allergy. So in other words, if you have an allergy, don’t eat here, if you are using gluten free as a diet or to lose weight, go for it.

Moultrie Creek Diner – Menu with Prices – 4010 US-1, St. Augustine

If you are looking for some good old fashioned diner food, this place has got you covered. With great food, great service, and great prices, you’ll be back again and again. It may seem basic, but I am a girl who loves eggs, bacon, toast and potatoes for breakfast. As simple as this order is, many people get it wrong. Eggs cooked wrong, bacon not crispy or too crispy, potatoes soggy or underdone. Toast stale or covered in fake butter. That is why I was pleased when the entire meal was perfect. Their potatoes are the best part–super crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. My mom loves to get the eggs Benedict with the biscuits. So good! They also have mimosas if you’re feeling like really having a good brunch! Our waitress was super attentive and nice! I hope to see her again soon! This place is just all around great. I’ll be coming here more often!

WHOS Gluten Free – Menu with Prices – 80 Mallory Ave, Jersey City

My mom was diagnosed with celiac in the ice age. Okay, maybe not the ice age, but she was diagnosed by Dr. Haas. Anyway, I told her I was taking her to a gluten free cafe and she got SO excited. When I looked up the distance, I could have sworn it said only 2 miles away and we were like, oh, no big deal, we’ll walk… well, 4 miles later we finally got to Whos Gluten Free. Opps. The staff at Whos Gluten Free is Fantastic. We walked in at 3:30 and the staff informed us the kitchen was closed because they close at 4. Oh. They had some broccoli soup still. We bought a whole bunch of goodies and the soup. The soup was delicious, nice and hot and with gluten free croutons! The goodies. Let’s forget about the gluten free part for a second. That nutella sandwich cookie. wholy Whos! (Yeah, I went there). That cookie was amazing. This is also the FIRST time in my LIFE I could share my desserts with my mom. Everything we got was so good. It didn’t even taste gluten free! The staff was so friendly, nice and accommodating. My mom can’t wait to go back! She already has her next “to try” items picked out. She wanted to go back the next day, but she said she would settle for at least a few days. And not to worry, next time we plan to be there bright and early, and not right before closing time.

Simmer Fort Collins – Menu with Prices – 2519 S Shields St Suite 1F, Fort Collins

So, I have a lot of food inconveniences… due to a bladder disease. I love simmer because of their unique food offerings and the attention the staff pays to my specifications. So we order spinach dip which comes with bread and veggies. Knowing the menu as I did, I asked if we could have some gluten free bed for me for the dip. I could tell this wasn’t a usual request, however my waitress was so accommodating and incredibly attentive. There were definitely some kitchen staff walking past our table several times to observe me. I think it’s just easier to ask about the severity of my gluten intolerance instead of having several men walk past your table, but I’m used to it. I have a chronic bladder pain disease which affects my diet greatly so it’s nice when people ask what the issue is instead of having people do laps and making assumptions. However! Our waitress and the staff that day were beyond accommodating; providing me with gluten free bread for the dips and even making me a second entree after I failed to see the “chili oil” on my dish description. It was 100% my fault for not seeing that and our waitress insisted on us not paying for the entree I couldn’t eat and ordered us a new one free of charge, sans chili oil. I am beyond grateful for the non judgmental and completely gracious service we received. We loved Simmer before and love it even more now. Thank you so much to the staff and we will be back. I’ll look more closely at the menu next time! Great spot, great food, great wine!

Smokey Ridge – Menu with Prices – 2850 Humboldt Rd, Green Bay

There with two other couples. Casual dining with great attentive servers. Started at the bar and then seated at tables. We ordered with our server at the table, but could have stayed and eaten at the bar had we chosen I. Enjoyed the potato chips that were served with the five sauces to allow you to taste test the sauces. Loved the â??Sassyâ?? which had a Carolina mustard sauce base. First – you can smell meat smoking as you get out of your car. Amazing! The ribs were dry rub and done tender, meaty and not greasy. Spiciness or sweetness or heat are up to the eater using the sauces. I had the special which was pineapple chipotle ham on a bun. When I asked about adding some pulled pork, the manager was very accommodating I was pleased to find that the place offers Gluten free options (I could eat almost everything there) and the Gluten free bun was really good. The burnt ends – tender and full of porky smoky slightly sweet and juicy goodness. Best BBQ Iâ??ve ever had in Green Bay. Nice people there, too.

You Eat I Bake – Menu with Prices – 2834-A Howard Ave, Myrtle Beach

I was having a friend with gluten intolerance visiting for a few days. I was looking for products that would be fresh baked, not the mass produced products that are becoming readily available. I must tell you that I am thrilled with the products I purchased. The bread was so enjoyable. I also ordered cinnamon buns and German chocolate cake. Nicole the owner, was very accommodating. The bakery is dairy free, nut free and gluten free. Nicole was willing to make me a naked cake, so we could frost the cake with the traditional german chocolate frosting. The cake was amazing. I will be back, as I have a DIL that is vegan. I would highly recommend this bakery to anyone that is gluten free. You will not be disappointed.

Citizen Soul Menu with Prices 60 S Main St, Alpharetta

This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in downtown Alpharetta. I love the vibe here. It’s fancy without feeling pretentious. The service is amazing and the food is two thumbs up. I have been here twice now, both times during the lunch hour. Both of my servers were on it–constantly refilling my water, willing to answer any questions I had, and bringing our food out almost immediately after we ordered. To all my Gluten-Free friends, this place has you covered. They have Gluten-Free fried chicken! Say What?! Yes, that was my reaction too! Since I was recently diagnosed with a Gluten Sensitivity, I thought that I was going to have to say goodbye to most fried foods, but not here! They also have a separate gluten-free fryer for their fries. I’m telling you guys that this place is a win-win. The fried chicken was a huge portion of tender, white meat. It honestly tasted like real fried chicken, if not better. I could not believe it was gluten-free! Their fries are house cut and crispy– just the way I like them. They are cooked in duck fat, which gives them a different taste than you’ve probably had before. Prior to becoming gluten free, I tried their house burger. This thing is fully loaded with ingredients and you will not leave hungry after eating this one. Now, I would just order a lettuce wrap instead of a bun when I order. My first visit here I also tried the pimento cheese fritters. These are a must order if you can consume gluten. They are so good! They have an impressive wine selection, so make sure you try a glass or two! I opted for the rose’ and it was so good. I do recommend using the Yelp app or calling to make reservations. The restaurant on the small side and can fill up quickly–better safe than sorry! Street parking is available all throughout downtown and there is also a parking deck near city hall (behind the restaurant).

Jersey Mike’s Subs – Menu with Prices – 15901 Antioch Rd, Overland Park

I have been here several times since they opened, mostly because I have one kid that is obsessed with it. He has nothing on his sandwich except ham, provolone, and pickles, but I’m pretty sure he could eat it daily. So there must be something about it that he really digs. I will say, the service is really quick, staff is always very friendly, and they have a punchcard to reward me for my loyalty, which is always a huge plus. And, they offer gluten-free bread, which is a huge bonus. They also carefully prepare gluten-free items in a separate area, which for some people is very important. They do charge extra for the gluten-free bread, which if you get the half sub, will get you about a $9 or $10 sandwich, which seems a little pricey to me but I guess if you’re gluten-free, you’re used to that anyway. If you’re not gluten-free, don’t miss the chocolate chip cookies. They are pretty spectacular.

Saltbox Seafood Joint – Menu with Prices – 2637 Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd, Durham

As a lifelong resident of the Carolinas, I know the seafood traditions of our region well. The folks at Salt Box know them, too, and just how to tweak and improve on them without losing the spirit of Fish Camp cooking. We’ve driven by this new location before and thought about stopping in, but this weekend decided to give it a go. And I’m so glad we did! I had the scallops and my dining partner had the grilled shrimp. Plates are served with house-fried potatoes and slaw. Splitting the two entrees was easy, since neither of us could finish either one. The shrimp are served peeled and covered with a fragrant herbal mixture while they grilled, so that they didn’t really need sauce. But the updated versions of the traditional tartar sauce and red horseradish cocktail sauces were amazing and only better showed the flavor of the seafood. My scallops were very lightly breaded and fried (they aren’t available grilled, unfortunately!), but were not too greasy. The fried potatoes, however, brought a good bit of vegetable oil to the meal. It was very light, so not old or heavy. Since there wasn’t a lot of bread on the scallops, they were very light, seasoned a little differently than the shrimp. Here, again, that red cocktail sauce played tricks on my palate. I make a pretty tasty version of this myself, so will have to try for whatever is in the Salt Box recipe that brings in such a new flavor. If you’re a fan of Carolina Cuisine, you owe it to yourself to give the Salt Box a try – it’s a great riff on a fantastic tradition!

Cakes-A-Bloomin’ – Menu with Prices – 412 Elmwood Rd, Lansing

Called to order a simple gluten free strawberry cake for my 5 year old son’s birthday. Mind you we are only a family of five so I thought this would be an easy order. My first time calling them. His birthday is in two more days so plenty of time for them to make it.They told me they could do a white cake only but could not guarantee the strawberry frosting would be gluten free. Not very friendly at all on the phone either. Wow! for an order so simple, I was shocked at how terrible they were. They sounded like they didn’t want to make the cake. Well, they lost my business and can just sit there in their ugly building in the run down part of town for all I care. I think Kroger has what I’m looking for. – Edit- The newbie you just spoke about DID ask a manager and the “manager” who she was laughing with in the background didn’t know either, if the frosting was gluten free. For a company that’s been in business for so long, that was pretty unprofessional. Also, it was part of the reason why I was turned off by how everything was handled. My son and I have celiac disease and it’s not something to laugh at especially when you have a business that advertises that you should call and ask about gluten free products and people are laughing at you over the phone.

Trattoria Salve – Menu with Prices – 905 W Main St Apt 21A, Durham

We visited on the Saturday night after the soft opening and were very happy with our meals. We both had a couple of wines by the glass (we would have had a bottle but he wanted red and I wanted white). The beet salad that I had with candied nuts and fried goat cheese and granny smith apples over mixed greens was *wonderful*, my husband ordered the Caesar my husband ordered was basically a whole head of uncut, but separated leaves of romaine lettuce with a lemony Caesar dressing which he liked but I think next time we might share it because it was quite large. My husband had the rigatoni with pancetta in a vodka cream sauce that was very rich. Since the salad was so large and the sauce so rich, he wasn’t able to finish but he thoroughly enjoyed the leftovers. I’m on a gluten free diet and when I arrived I asked if they could accommodate gluten free requests and they said they did have gluten free pasta available and that some dishes could be prepared gluten free, such as the chicken/veal marsala or piccata which I specifically asked about. But I found a seared scallops over risotto with saffron that seemed more interesting and would be gluten free without having to be altered and it was wonderful. The service was very attentive. We were greeted by the owner who came by the table several times and the server did not rush us to order or finish in any way. We didn’t have dessert because we were too full so I can’t comment on them in this review but hope to next time. So I’m not even sure they offer any gluten free options but I hope they do. One thing that was great was that the lighting was sufficient to read the menu without having to take out our phones to use the flashlight! It wasn’t very crowded so I can’t say what the sound level would be like to be able to carry on a conversation when it was very crowded. The ceilings are high and there is a lot of brick so acoustically it seems like it might not be very conducive to large groups and intimate conversations if you are with anyone who has trouble hearing.

Tony Pepperoni – Menu with Prices – 805 College Blvd, Oceanside

Cool place to watch the game and have a drink. It’s a bit smaller than the Aliso location but they lots of good quality tvs and tables available. There are a few arcade games in the back area. They have gluten free crusts for pizza but they only have medium and large size so come hungry or with a friend. The crust is cooked well and even my glutenious husband said it tasted pretty good. They also have a plethora of gluten free drink options. It’s not a full bar but they have bottled Ace Pineapple cider, Ace Pear Cider, Angry Orchard Crisp Apple, and a variety of White Claws. They also have Salmon Creek wine as their house wine which is pretty delicious. Their non- happy hour prices are not that bad too actually. Happy hour is Mon-Fri 3-5:30pm. Staff has always been very friendly. I was really grateful when I had asked about a certain sauce being gluten free that they actually brought out the bottle with the ingredients on it for me to look at. It is located to the right of the Walmart and to left of the Navy Credit Union. Parking is easy and plentiful.
