I grew up watching the Diablos at Dudley Field and later at Cohen stadium, now taking my kids to Southwes University Park. It’s a beautiful place to watch a game. We have sat all over the park AMD never had a bad seat. The Fiesta patio is a great place to watch the game. Went with my son and girlfriend. My son played catch with Chico, got a foul ball, and was given a rally towel from another fan. We had perfect seats for the fireworks that followed the game. You cam see from the photos it was a night my son will never forget. Looking forward to the 2019 season and seeing the remodle of the Fiesta Patio.

USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center – Menu with Prices – Flushing Meadow – Corona Park, Flushing

Great venue for watching tennis, not so great for tennis classes. I am a big tennis fan and tennis player who has played on and off since high school. My review is for two aspects of this place, as a place to watch, and as a place to learn tennis. As a place to watch – 4 stars: Location can a little out of the way, depending on where you live. For most New Yorkers, Flushing is considered the boonies. Beyond that, it’s a pretty good venue to watch tennis because when you come to se the US Open, you can see many matches other than the ticketed ones in Ashe or Armstrong stadia. If you come during qualifying week, admittance is free and you can watch up-and-coming players play high-quality tennis, or watch pros practicing – all for free. Other than that – the venue is pretty well maintained, food is overpriced (not surprising), and it can get pretty crowded, obviously. Otherwise, there are affordable tickets to Ashe Stadium, but those are high up in the nosebleed sections. If you can, I would suggest saving up and maybe treating yourself to court-side seats. The experience is so much nicer. As a place to learn tennis – 2 stars The USTA offers classes here for players of all levels up to 4.0. To sign up for classes, you need to schedule a rating session where a teaching pro will hit with you an assign you a NTC ranking, which is comparable to a NTRP rating. With that ranking, you can sign up for appropriate level classes, of which there are several types. I haven’t done all of them, but I’ve done the “Rally” and “Zone” adult classes. Rally classes are supposedly more instruction-oriented and Zone classes are supposedly more game-oriented. In practice, I find them somewhat identical. Both classes are 1.5 hours – you spend the first 15 minutes rallying to warm up. Then you do the same drills (forehands down the line/x-court, running forehands down the line/x-court, backhands DTL/XC, running backhands DTL/XC, then approach shots followed by volleys and overheads. Then you play games (king of the court, abbreviated doubles, etc). There are about 8 players per class. Each class is taught by one coach. In terms of bang for the buck and quality of the facilities – it’s really good. I’ve done classes in Manhattan for twice the price. Why so low a rating then? 1. I find the NTC rating is wildly inaccurate. I’ve met several players (including myself) who felt that were “under-rated”, meaning they were stuck in classes where other members where not at their level – which is frustrating because it’s hard to improve if you hit with someone who can’t consistently return the ball at your level. Yet, when you bring this up with the coach, they hem and haw and placate you with promises of how if you get “better” they will bump you up into higher classes. Never happens. I wonder if they just want to pack classes to get more $$$, and don’t really care about leveling up players. Which brings me to point #2. 2. The lack of instruction is appalling. For a place that bills itself as the US National Tennis Center, you would expect top-of-the-line instruction. Not so. I’ve learned more from coaches at Vanderbilt, Yorkville, and Sutton East tennis classes in Manhattan. I’ve learned more watching free tennis lessons on Youtube. The coaches here are nice, they’ve got that. But most of the time, I view them as ball machines that can talk. They’ll come up with drills and games. Maybe tell you to “keep your head down” or “get on top of the ball”, but there is little critical, focused, individualized, or intensive instruction. Most of time, they are just feeding you balls or watching you play. No one is being pulled aside and told, “hey, let’s practice some shadow swings because your forehand mechanics are inefficient.” It’s mostly just mindless hitting sprinkled with trite tips here and there. You say: “But that&a

Oddfellows Liquor Bar – Menu with Prices – 2014 Elm St, Cincinnati

The decor and layout deserves 5 stars but we didn’t make it long enough to enjoy it. 3 of us walked in for the first time to have some food, drinks and watch the NCAA National Championship game. There were 4 people total in the bar area…2 of them just eating pizza off to the corner. 2 TVs. One was playing the game but we asked if the other tv could also be changed so we could sit where we wanted and watch. The bartender responded…”Well I don’t really play sports and don’t like them so…”. Mind you…there were music videos playing on the other TV. P.M. Dawn to be exact. Was really looking forward to hanging out, watching the game…and ummm…spending $. I’ve worked in customer service and sales almost my entire career. Unfortunately the attitude of the bartender put a bad taste in our mouths and we found another spot for the night.

Spare Time Chattanooga – Menu with Prices – 5518 Brainerd Rd, Chattanooga

This is a typical arcade nowadays where you load a card with money and swipe the card at the machine to play a game. (what happened to playing with quarters??) Most games are about 1.25 a play except for skee-ball which is 50 cents. The air hockey game played for about a minute, if that, and cut off. The second time we tried playing the puck kept getting stuck in the goal slot. And the game was still going on so we knew it wasn’t that it was over. One of the skee-ball machines wasn’t releasing the balls but it sure took your money from your card. We played Luigi’s haunted mansion and it completely shut off in the middle of the game. The staff member that was there restarted the machine and swiped her card so we can play again so that was nice. The basket ball game had two different scores on each side so that was weird. Couldn’t tell if I kicked my husband’s butt in that game or not lol. The prize room opened later and half the prizes didn’t have the ticket amount on them and the girl at the counter was too busy flirting with some guy to pay attention to anything going on. . There was also bowling but we didn’t play. Maybe that would have had less quirks.

Jo’s gather’n Place – Menu with Prices – 2931 E Chestnut Expy, Springfield

I like to go to Jo’s on Monday nights whenever I visit Springfield about once a month. Uncle Les Galler hosts an open mic and I am a musician who likes to jam with him because he’s a first class guitar player. Other great musicians from around Springfield gravitate there. Quite often, there are only a few non-musicians in the room. The bartender/waittress is very attentive and does a great job handling the whole situation. The food is very good and reasonably priced. Monday is also 60 Cent Taco night before 7pm. The jamming starts afterwards. You can also watch a ball game or a hockey game on the wide screen TV while hearing some of the best pickers in Missouri get together.

CFA Clubhouse – Menu with Prices – 6122 N Clark St, Chicago

Fun place to visit with the family. They have like 3 soccer fields and a really nice bar/restaurant. Place is huge with a private parking lot that makes it a lot easier. It’s a great spot to watch any game since they have a lot of screens everywhere. We were there to watch couple of game for the copa America and the atmosphere was great. Their food is delicious. We tried their Brazilian pizza after the owners recommendation and it was super yummy. They also have Argentinian empanadas, perfect side dish for almost anything. Food was fresh and super tasty. Outstanding service. We will definitely come back

Westgate Entertainment District – Menu with Prices – 6751 N Sunset Blvd, Glendale

The traffic here and lack of signs for parking is insane. Came for the first home game of the season for the Coyotes; so I was definitely expecting some traffic but not the absolute nightmare that ensued for FORTY FIVE minutes. We couldn’t even pull into Westgate for 20 of that because the 4 way intersections surrounding Westgate have the worst light system. If you’re trying to take a left turn into there, DON’T. Because all the people turning right or going straight jam up so bad that when you get the left turn arrow you can’t even turn because everything is so backed up. We just sat in our car in disbelief of the absolute cluster fuck. I even said to my fiancé that maybe we should just park across the street and then walk but at that point we were already committed. You’d think it would get better when you get into Westgate but it just gets worse. People walking everywhere so you can’t even move and the people that are supposed to be directing traffic were just standing there doing nothing. There are no signs saying park here, or parking lot full. And there were so many entrances to parking lots that were blocked off for no apparent reason because I could see open parking spaces. Finally after we had already missed 20 minutes of the hockey game, we pulled into a parking lot using the exit side when a lady comes up screaming saying the lot was full even though we could see spaces. At this point we are incredibly frustrated and just said “well where the heck should we park, we’ve been driving for 45 minutes?!” The lady said they were directing everyone to park across the street. So why even let people enter Westgate to just tell them they wasted 40 minutes of their time? There were no signs saying that and no one was directing anyone so we just gave the lady a $20 which I’m sure she just pocketed for herself and pulled into one of the many available spots. Crazy you can’t come here to enjoy a cocktail for 30 minutes before a game because you’ll be spending that time in your car. Will be avoiding Westgate when I can and will ALWAYS park across the street from now on.

Green Bay Booyah Baseball – Menu with Prices – 2231 Holmgren Way, Green Bay

What was the Green Bay Bullfrogs is now the Green Bay Booyah. The name is kind of silly for a sports team, but it does resonate with the Green Bay area culture. I can get past the name because these games are so fun! The Booyah plays in Capital Credit Union Park (so creative), which is a newly built stadium. It’s not just for baseball. The local soccer team (Green Bay Voyagers) play here as well. The stadium has two levels. I sat on the second level because I got club seat tickets for me and my parents. The club seats include food before the game, three drinks, and indoor and outdoor seating. For $45 it’s quite the treat, and you get a great view of the field. The food was decent as they served chicken, hot dogs, salads, cookies, and yes booyah (hot chicken soup). Was impressed with the beer selection as most of the craft beer was from Green Bay breweries. I enjoy baseball, so the game itself is entertaining to me. In between innings they have a lot of fun games like spinning your head on the bat, and other racing type games that children participate in. They have a big LED screen that flashes the players profiles, sponsors, and different deals and promotions at the ball park. Right by it is a manual score board which is neat, but why don’t they have the score on their big LED screen. It does take a little longer to update the ball and strike count. All in all, it’s a simple fun time and that’s not super over priced. Can’t wait to go to more games next summer.

Worlds Of Fun – Menu with Prices – 4545 Worlds of Fun Ave, Kansas City

My children absolutely love going to Planet Snoopy. They have plenty of rides for the kids. This amusement park is literally “Worlds Of Fun”. They have so many different rides, there is definitely something for everyone to enjoy. The Mamba and Patriot are extremely thrilling. I enjoy all the coasters, but those two are by far my favorites. Oceans Of Fun is one of the best water parks I have ever been to. I’m glad they merged the two parks together now, so you can come and go between them as you please. The only thing to complain about is how expensive the food and drinks are. Even with the season pass “discount” it’s very expensive for food and drinks. I would love to see them give better perks to season pass holders as well. Overall, I enjoy this park every time we go. My family and I have many memories from this park and plan to keep going there for years to come.

Perrie’s Boutique – Menu with Prices – 1151 Galleria Blvd Ste 261, Roseville

Where to start- If I could rate more stars I would!! My sister & I had nothing but an AMAZING experience with Perrieâ??s boutique! The perfect customer service we received from Ocean was literally phenomenal. My sister had her senior ball in less than 4 days with no dress to wear- after a trip to Pierreâ??s boutique, she fell in love with a silver dress that was unfortunately a few sizes too big . Even though the mall closed at 9, she let us stay after hours to make sure the alterations were just the way we wanted! After a consultation from Ocean & telling her our situation, she was able to alter the dress within 2 days for my sister even though she had a lot of other dresses to alternate since it is prom/ball season! The alterations in itself was unbelievable- the dress looked even better than before & fit my sister beautifully!! The craftsmanship & service Ocean has provided is indescribable! Thank you so much Ocean for everything you have done!

Oâ??Brienâ??s Pub – Menu with Prices – 28 E Kingsbridge Rd, The Bronx

O’Brien’s is a great place to grab a beer, relax and watch a ball game. The bartenders are friendly and there is always a lively conversation going on. Pool table and darts in the back of the bar. Been going here for years. The owner is a class act all the way and one of the most generous people I know. Every year he has a huge Christmas party with free food and drink. Regarding a previous tip…I’ve never seen a minor being served here.In fact the bartenders go out of their way to card people.

Mr G’s Barn – Menu with Prices – 6756 Hill Ave, Toledo

A family owned small business. They’re friendly, fast, and attentive to their customers needs and wants. There’s plenty of outdoor sitting. Customers can choose to sit on park benches, up against one of their plentiful trees seating or even have a picnic on the lawn. They even have a drive thru on the days were you just don’t want to get out of you vehicle. Their menu ranges from a variety of ice creams, smoothies, shakes, drinks, sandwiches, hotdogs, etc. Just to name a few. Your whole family will have plenty of options to choose from. This you their last day open for the season will be on October 30, 2019. So go soon or you’ll have to wait until next summer.

Wicked Tuna Waterfront Dining Myrtle Beach – Menu with Prices – 110 N Ocean Blvd, Myrtle Beach

I want to give it less than 5, but it’s new, and they have growing pains. Took forever to get a waitress, not sure if no one was assigned to our table, it just did. But the hostess was on top of it, she was. The waitress sadly had her tables on the other side of the restaurant, so she deserved some slack and credit too given the circumstances. And one bartender. Jesus, in Myrtle, that place, one bartender isn’t enough. She was working her tail off. I wanted ocean front, but they weren’t available. And I knew in advance that the tables lined up with the seam of the windows. So ocean front is actually windowsill front. They are getting high tops for the ocean front seats soon. We had a two person high top and it was perfect. I took the 3 pictures from my chair. Sushi and jumbo shrimp cocktail was darn good. Very, very good. And the drinks, wife’s pineapple ones($11), in them cups, very good she said, and they had alcohol in them. I had their Long Islands with the extra juice in them, darn good. One gets ya feeling pretty good. And I like my Jack. They are $17, but I feel they are comparable to two regular sized drinks. But I was driving, so one was it, watch fireworks, lose my buzz, then go. Had no idea there was fireworks, but they were very good. Outta PA, possibly tied in with Zambelli, but didn’t have their name. May return before we leave, their sushi and drinks were that good. We did go back with our kids Thursday night. Wife and I had the Murrells Inlet frozen drinks, very umm good, and 3 sushi rolls. Cherry Blossom, lobster, and I can’t remember. Very good, and better service, she was very good. Great place.
