From 11am-3pm is their taco buffet and I’ve never had better. I went for the first time in early April and have been back twice since and have a lunch date planned for the 1st of may there. The waitress wont even let you finish your drink before shes refilling for you! I’ve seen the same two people working each time during three different rushes. First time there was quiet and we had our enchiladas in 15min flat of sitting down. 6, full sized enchiladas fresh cooked faster than I’d ever imagined. Perfect food, perfect service, and not a bad price ESPECIALLY given the quality of food is so high.

Molcajetes Mexican Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 520 West Side Ave, Jersey City

I really wanted to love this place as much as the reviews made me think that I would! I’ll start off with the best thing we had… the guacamole was amazing! It’s not the typical creamy texture you might expect but boy is it packed with flavor! Sadly, it came with a half full container of chips that were fresh and tasty but not enough for the amount of guacamole. Granted, I ordered an hour before closing time so maybe they were low on supply? The grilled chicken burrito was pretty good, tasty and a good size. The chicken enchiladas on the other hand, lacked flavor, didn’t have much verdes sauce, and the chicken itself had an unpleasant taste. I didn’t love the huge different sized chunks of partially cooked carrots in the rice and have never had rice with potatoes in it at a Mexican restaurant. Also, all images on Seamless and Yelp show the enchiladas served with refried beans but my order came with habichuelas guisadas and it was missing radishes like pictured but there were tomato slices instead. I wanted to give this order 3.5 stars but understand that this is a new-ish local business and truly want them to succeed.

Inca Azteca – Menu with Prices – 95 S Market St Suite #170, San Jose

Our server: 5/5 Food : 3/5 Seating arrangements: 1/5 Happy hour drinks: 2/5 ( on full bar is false) ( great if you wanna get drunk on happy hour. But not much else) Background: they have a party going in a majority of the restaurant. They still tell us we are okay to be seated. Then the band played ( so loud we had to lean over the table to talk to eachother) They lead us to the back where we are sitting on 2 couches with a block for a table that is knee high. Everytime you go to take a bite of food you have to open your legs to lean in over your plate. The drinks were not mixed properly. The long island taste like straight whiskey ( off brand, cost more if you want decent liquor ). The servers were being overworked because they had to deal with a party which took over everything but a small section in the back and keep the restaurant running with regular walk-in customers. The rice was very dry and for $13 for enchiladas it was 2 enchiladas with a scoop of rice and a tiny bowl of beans. Maybe it would be better on a regular day when their staff are not being overworked. When you dont staff yourself properly and take more than you can handle you lose the quality of the service you are providing.

OKIPOKI Menu with Prices 41 State St, Albany

OKIPOKI is a trendy new eatery in downtown Albany that offers well-priced, good sized portions of poke, sushi burritos and taikyaki. Ambiance- clean, spacious and lots of natural lighting. This is a casual eatery that reminds me of something I would find on the west coast. Food- overall the raw fish is really high quality, probably the best quality in the area. The pieces are large and taste fresh. Kobe Burrito- well sized, generous amount of tuna and salmon. I think the only thing that would improve this burrito is adding some furikake or sesame seasoning to add more crunch besides the seaweed salad. However I was still very impressed with the quality and reasonable price. Salmon poke bowl- Great price and huge portion! Love how avocado and mango are not extra. They are great ingredients to add to your poke bowl for flavor and texture. The ginger sauce added a lot of flavor too. I would recommend using rice + mixed greens as your base though to add more texture. Taiyaki- excellent matcha ice cream!! The matcha flavor was strong and was not very sweet which is exactly how I like it. The taiyaki cone was very fresh and warm too. They have a good selection of toppings. I would recommend that they provide sturdier wrapping and/bowl for the ice cream though because it started to melt fast and napkins were enough to sustain the huge sized taiyaki. Overall OKIPOKI is excellent. Great prices, great fish and lots of options

Taste of the Triad – Menu with Prices – 4320 Old Walkertown Rd, Winston-Salem

All of the food on the line had been sitting there for atleast an hour or more. They didn’t even stir it up when we walked in to make it look as if it hadn’t been. We ordered fried chicken, which is made to order and asked for fresh Mac and cheese and greens. They did not have any fresh greens so our second side had to come from the line (the food that had been sitting there). We paid for our food and found a table to sit at. The restaurant was clean and quite. Our drinks seemed flat but it wasn’t the worse thing ever. It took our food about 25 mins to come out. Our fried chicken was cooked in old grease and didn’t taste seasoned. The rolls we ordered were both hard. The cornbread was cold. The employees however were very polite and attentive. I would not eat here again. Definitely not worth my $22.

Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ – Menu with Prices – 70 W Green St, Pasadena

I’ve lived in Pasadena for 5 years and today was my first time came to this restaurant. I think I was turned off by its 3.5 star reviews. But since my friend wants to have a high meat meal, I decided to give this place a try. So Sunday brunch for two at 1pm. We waited for about 15min or so without reservation. If you come in with a big party, definitely make a reservation, or come in a non-popular time to avoid the crowd. We were seated promptly and the server came in quickly enough. I think the service was good. Nothing went wrong, and he left enough time for us to chat without interrupting, which was great. (Probably because after meal, it was already 3pm, and no more waitlist) We got the brunch menu, which was $18.99/person, with 2 meat selection (5oz) each person. We thought this would be a better deal than the $50 for two. Though that one has 2 more kinds of meat (smaller portion though), but we didn’t care so much about the rest of the stuff (side dishes and ice cream). Miso soup, salad, and rice are included in the brunch deal. We added $3 for an extra side dish. Mushroom and shishito pepper. And we got the top sirloin, new york strip, Galbi rib, and Angus rib. As far as the food quality, everything has too much sugar in it. The sauce, the marinated sauce, salad dressing. So everything is sweet, which isn’t a great thing. It just shows the quality of food is either not great, or they do not know how to cook. The meat looks alright, not the cheapest, but not the highest either. The Galbi rib was definitely the fattest, and probably cooked the best without burnt. The Angus rib was not the best quality, not recommended. The New York strip tasted a little better, the top sirloin was too lean for the grill. Since you have to grill yourself, which is fun, your food taste becomes highly dependent on your skill. So if you don’t know how to grill, the meal could taste completely off. Since I started to eat more at home, and I buy the highest quality food as possible (think organic oil, pasture raised egg, grass-fed beef etc.). I can easily tell the quality of the food that is provided by a restaurant. (And my body would react to tell me too.) I would say this place is okay. Not terrible, but definitely not on the high end. You can indicate from the price. I don’t think I would come back again.

Sakkio Japan – Menu with Prices – 3661 Eisenhower Pkwy #24, Macon

Best food place in the mall. Teriyaki entrees are cooked to order rather than sitting in a tray. Food is tasty, fresh, and filling… And they give a lot for the price! They don’t give you tap water though so be prepared to pay for bottled water if you want water, but then again you are already getting a great deal for the quality and amount of food you’ll be getting.

Rio Grande Tacos – Menu with Prices – 3211 General Meyer Ave, New Orleans

My dad stopped in here today to pick up some lunch: two orders of tacos, beef enchiladas, and an order of guac and chips. He couldn’t stop commenting on how absolutely lovely the couple who own it are, and that he watched them cut and cook everything. In the commotion, he left his phone. The proprietor noticed it immediately and held it for him behind the counter. My mother loved the enchiladas. It was far more than she could finish. Dad & I loved the tacos. The shells are made there, fresh, huge. Overstuffed and the meat seasoned to perfection. This was a first of many future visits. I loved it. The guac was also perfect.

New State Burgers & Spirits – Menu with Prices – 1705 NW 16th STE A, Oklahoma City

With burgers in the name, you’d expect some fire burgers and the good thing is that they definitely delivered! Flavor is awesome, you get 2 patties, quality of the meat is decent, and they’re not over cooked. You can get a basic cheeseburger or get something out of the ordinary if you’re feeling adventurous. Let’s start with the good: FOOD Hot hamburger -$11. 5/5 Fuego. Flavor is on point. Gravy and the fries takes it to the next level. Definitely recommend. The Statesman – $10. 4/5. Flavor is also on point but the beef can be a tad dry if you get a bite without the aoili. Maybe an au ju dip or just juicier beef in general would make this perfect. Side of fries – $3 4/5. Crispy, hot, flavorful. Portion definitely is not worth $3 though. For 1/3 of the price of an entree, I’d expect a bigger portion or cheaper price for what you get. SERVICE: 5/5 service was nice and quick. Food came out reasonably fast. Pour your own water was nice so you don’t have to flag your waiter down for refills ENVIRONMENT/ AMBIANCE 3/5 Waaaaaayyyy too loud in there. Also kinda feel like they don’t know what they’re going for. Seating is close and intimate, almost café/ coffee shop style. Nice silverware and plates with cloth napkins, Bar next to the seating area with a big flat screen tv which is fine. But they’re blaaaasting music you’d hear in a club/ bar. The music just doesn’t go with the rest of the vibe. I’m down for that type of music, but maybe not when I’m trying to have dinner and sitting super close to other people. It just makes it hard to hear anything in there. Overall worth a try. Entrees are tasty and reasonably priced. Service was good. If they changed the music and figured out how to dampen the echo, it would be perfect .

Kenny’s Burger Joint – Menu with Prices – 5809 Preston Rd #588, Plano

This is my third Kenny’s and was looking forward to trying the burger joint. I thought the Wood Fired Grill was very good and the Italian Kitchen near perfection. The Burger Joint is very good and ranks well amongst the other premium burger competition. The quality of the meat and bun were first rate and the ability to order doneness is a plus. I had the Bacon Cheeseburger which was cooked perfectly to medium rare as ordered and featured properly cooked bacon and good quality cheddar. It bordered on too messy to eat but quick surgery to remove tomato helped prevent the patty from sliding out of the bun. My wife had the Straight Up burger, their basic offering, and it was also cooked perfectly medium as ordered. The quality of the bun was very good and correctly sized. I could tell the quality of the meat was high but honestly could not detect any “wood-fired grill” flavor. We had the truffle parmesan fries and they were good. Our second appetizer, the onion rings, are the reason I dropped the review to 4 stars. They were very very large with a batter that split the difference between beer batter and tempura. This was 90% of the ring but the main problem was that they were incredibly greasy, to the extent that eating one left such a greasy film in my mouth that it was difficult to enjoy the burger. We took most of the order home (along with half of our burgers) and, after reheating, saw a large oil pool at the bottom of the pan. So, the takeaway, is avoid the rings. Everything else was very good to great, especially the service. It’s easy to compare the quality to Hopdoddy or Liberty. Food is pretty comparable. Where Kenny’s shines is the service and dining room. Hopdoddy thinks I’ll be comfortable sitting inches away from other diners (The’ll bring a divider for the table if you ask long enough) and Liberty table access is dicey. Kenny’s is great with perfect service and great food. Next time, I’ll avoid the rings (or order a beer to wash down the grease) and probably bump up to 5 stars.

Viajero Cantina – Menu with Prices – 1661 Bloor St W, Toronto

This is the hidden jewel of the neighborhood. We came here after a nice long walk through the park for the cherry blossoms, and to stroll through the zoo. We wanted a small, cute place to enjoy an afternoon meal that was low key but flavorful and unique, and this place did not disappoint. We had a pitcher of delicious white sangria, with dried apple chips on the glas, served in a nice large carafe. We started off with a sampler platter, some guacamole and chips, and a few enchiladas and tacos. We all shared everything while we sat in plush, comfortable lounge chairs. We brought our one year old, and even though they did not have high chairs, we were able to sit him in his car seat in one of the chairs. He actually ate everything- the guacamole, the enchiladas, the sampler plate- he tried everything and loved it! I think the duck enchiladas were my favorite item. I highly recommend getting the sampler platter to share so you can try all the different small plates they offer. Their bar was gorgeous, and the vibe was funky, relaxed, and cool. A perfect place for a date, an in-between-meal snack spot, or just to chill with a drink solo. I will definitely be coming back here again!

The Taco Connection – Menu with Prices – 733 16th St Mall, Denver

Visiting the Mile High city with The Doctor…work for him, vacation for me. Had to walk over to where he was for a meeting to pick up his phone. Decided to walk down the mall street here (16th Street Mall) just to see what was going on and stumbled across this place. The Street Mall has quite a few places like this….not sure what to call them. Seems disrespectful to call them a food kiosk considering the level of food they are preparing at some of them. In my mind’s eye I kept thinking food trucks without the wheels. This place caught my eye the day before because I saw “fusion” and “taco” on the same sign. I love the mixing of flavors to come up with something that bucks tradition, provided they work. This place got it right. First of all, the price is right and I am not talking about daytime TV. Each taco is $3.25, but man it is packed with meat. I am not talking about a cute street sized taco, I am talking two tacos should do you, three will put you into a food coma sized taco. The menu is limited, which is to be expected since it is on the street. But what is offered looks amazing. I got the Korean BBQ Pork tacos. The person waiting on me was very nice and explained to me the flavors that would experienced if I got this particular taco. He even gave me a taste as I mentioned to him that my level of hot could be measured by ketchup. For me, the house sauce was flavorful but too spicy for me. I got the tacos without the sauce, but the meat had enough flavor for me. The pickled onions and fresh slaw were a perfect complement to the meat, which was tender and had a lovely flavor, not overpowering. Fresh and flavorable and oh so good. A third taco would have put me down into a nap….two were perfect. The flavors were very fresh, but complex in a good way. And did I mention the price? I have seen smaller tacos in Chicago for a whole lot more ($4.95). So why only four stars? They didn’t have the Spiced Kebab (ground lamb and beer) tacos. That is what pulled me in, so I was disappointed not to get that as I adore lamb and wanted it on a taco shell. If that had been crossed off the menu, my expectations would not have been so high. For me, if something isn’t on the menu, cover it up. But I will say that this was quite a pleasant surprise for my first time back in Denver in a long time. I will say that the tacos here were better than any restaurant I have gone to here in Denver. Bravo Taco Connection, glad we got to connect.

Innovation Depot Inc Menu with Prices 1500 1st Ave N, Birmingham

I dropped in to try it when I downtown heading to an appointment. It was clean and the staff was very attentive. There was security watching the free parking lot so I took my time sitting down and people watching. There are two long tables in the front and several booths. I noticed several groups come and go and everyone had the same reaction. The prices are extremely high. There’s no explanation for a sandwich/chips and ice tea to cost nearly $18. The food is good, freshly made and the dining room and restrooms are extremely clean. I gladly pay quality money for a quality meal. That is ridiculous and will be the only dollar they will receive from me unless I’m stuck there doing business. My roast beef and cheddar wasn’t that special. For that price they need to at least go to the market and get red vine ripen tomatoes instead of the wimpy mushy pinkish one I had on my sandwich. I had more bread than meat. Let me be honest, it would have had to been a fat slab of perfect prime rib to please me after the cashier told me my price. It was made to order and I wasn’t interested in any of the few remaining pastries.
