*this review is from March of 2019* somehow it has sat in my drafts this long.. Let me start by “painting a picture” of how my day went before coming to this location.. It’s my birthday – on a Friday – the 1st of the month.. my initial reservation was at another establishment for 12 & I wasn’t able to add 3 more people.. (which was not up to me & had to be done for family reasons..) so I cancel and call three other places.. no luck. I knew my chances of getting a reservation 4 hours before I needed it were slim.. & my birthday is about to be a wreck. I no longer want to celebrate my birthday or go out to eat.. but a friend tells me this location is near her and her family goes often. I take my chances & call Ryu Sushi & Teppanyaki to make a reservation for 15.. first off, Anne was so kind and personable with me while making the reservation! I called just in time to make the reservation. We were seated quickly and we had to wait for a few of our party to arrive but no one gave us a hassle about it. The food was great & decently priced for this kind of establishment. Our chef was super nice & gave us plenty of birthday “shots”! We had children in our party & there were a couple messes that were handled quickly and without attitudes or making us feel bad. Anne really saved my sanity & my birthday.. if you’re reading this, I appreciate you more than you know.

Sole Augusta Menu with Prices 1033 Broad St, Augusta

I had my very first experience at Sole last night. I was meeting friends for a birthday. The reservation, unfortunately, got mixed up and so we were stuck waiting awhile because it was PACKED! However, they provided us with two free sushi rolls and edamame to eat while we waited. They quickly gave us the next available table which was outside. But then it started POURING rain and they quickly made arrangements for us to re-locate again. After we ate, our waitress informed us that the owner was covering ALL of our food, it was all paid for! Although it began with an unfortunate circumstance, the customer service was unbeatable. Friendliest and most adaptable staff ever! Definitely going back!!! ?

Chick-fil-A – Menu with Prices – 1600 Bradley Park Dr, Columbus

This location was able to meet and exceed our expectations for catering our sons birthday party. I showed up to pick 50 kids meals and they were so amazing with making sure everything was hot and fresh. They helped load up my vehicle and made sure I had everything needed. Thank you guys for making my sons birthday great with your food and exceptional service. Best location in Columbus GA!

Northern Lights Lounge – Menu with Prices – 500 N Dirksen Pkwy # B, Springfield

Had a reservation for a 21st birthday party here. Started off decent with some dillon’s pizza and beer. Had been there mabey an hour or so and the blonde women who I was told was the owner became rude hollering about our crowd of 20 needing to get out of the isle and just very upset about our group standing and talking. It is a small establishment, but we were reassured at reservation time all would be fine. We then were told a group of 30 had reservations as well and we need

State & Fig – Menu with Prices – 1114 State St #18, Santa Barbara

My friends and I had a bachelorette weekend ahead of us and the bride requested state & fig. I called in advance to make a reservation as we were a party of 8 but was told they do not take any reservations. The day of, I thought to call on our way to put our name down on the waiting list and was informed they cant do that but instead suggested I make a reservation, as it was a large party. I was extremely frustrated because they had just told me a few days before that they do not take reservations. I explained the situation and they quickly accommodated us. It was such a beautiful ambiance and service was amazing. Our server Tracey was so great and extremely friendly. She made our celebration that much better. Our party was really happy about the food and bottomless mimosas. I would definitely recommend the tomato Panini! Though it was a rough start, I will definitely be returning here when I am in the area!

Sushi Madre Del Mar – Menu with Prices – 3402 E Del Mar Blvd Suite 300, Laredo

I’ve been a sushi madre customer since their first location on Saunders. The service remains high in quality and the dishes remain progressive and reliable. Though I’m not a fan of raw seafood, sushi madre caters to people like me perfectly! The avocado salad, poblano soup, and fresh rolls always hit the spot. I would recommend the Laredo, Hurtado, and La Loca roll. If you’re trying to get the most authentic sushi experience, you may be mislead by coming here. But if you want an experience of sushi that is creative and has a twist on the traditional, this is the place. Also, clean eating is made very easy here with their fresh salads and teppanyaki plates.

Silver Star Grille – Menu with Prices – 9462 Ellerbe Rd #100, Shreveport

I made a reservation for my birthday for a large party (20 ppl later changed to 17 and confirmed prior to reservation time). I should have known there would be issues when there was a contract to sign for large party reservations. The food was good as usual…the problem was the service. From the beginning of the night there was confusion with the reservation, amount of ppl and the seating. To begin, I will say it was not busy in the restaurant at all. The reservations were for my birthday on a Thursday evening. We were told that bc our entire party of 20 did not show up by 7:15 that we would be seated separately. The reservations coordinator Brittney cleared that up pretty quickly, so kudos to her. We were seated with 12. Things happen and the other 5 ppl couldn’t make it last minute. After dinner, there was an additional $120 charge to our bill. $15 pp charge for the 8 no shows, however, the reservations were changed to 17 so that was an incorrect amt in the first place. The manager was called over and he brings the contract out to explain the charge. I kindly let him know that I had spoken with Brittney earlier and changed the number of guests and she had already moved one of the tables away that we would not need prior to us getting there. So the manager, Ryan, then tries to charge for 5 ppl bc we had 12 and not 17. There were only 2 empty chairs at the 2 tables that we had so the space was being used. We were told that they were “holding another table for the extra ppl that didn’t show” and we were being charged per the contract for no shows for that table. Again, it was extremely slow that night in the restaurant and there were at least 5-6 tables empty on our side along the entire time we were there (7p-close). After another round of discussion and another call to the reservation coordinator, the manager says “well i get it I would be upset to, but I am not going to argue back and forth about it. I will just take off the additional charge”. Very rude and condescending, extreme lack of customer service. I would have totally understood if we were holding space/tables and they were having to turn customers away, but that clearly was not the case. The contract for reservations need to be taken on a case by case basis. I am sad to say that as much as I love the food there, all 12 of the guests there have said they would not venture to any other silver star location if this is how they treat paying customers.

Copper Pot Cooking Studio – Menu with Prices – 916 W Laurel St, Springfield

Denise is AMAZING! My daughter had her birthday party here today and it was fantastic. She chose the pizza for her party and it was very yummy. All of the kids (and adults!) had so much fun making our own little pizzas and decorating a birthday cake. Such a neat idea for a party. Plus the studio is super cute and Denise was awesome and answered all of our random questions! We will definitely be back!

Summerville Scoops Menu with Prices 2803 Wrightsboro Rd #27, Augusta

Extremely disappointed in how this place is managed. They advertise on instagram that they do birthday parties and not only did I go in person to speak with someone about it, I called, and I left them a message on Instagram. When I came in person the young girl informed me that she was unsure how to go about booking a birthday party so she got my info and told me a manager would call me that afternoon. I was never called. Next, I sent a message on Instagram that was never replied to. Finally, I called one day and the guy who answered told me to call the village deli next door to speak with the owner (I guess they own both). I called the village deli and asked for the owner by name since the previous guy told me who to ask for and the girl who answered snapped back at me “What is this regarding?” so I told her I wanted to book a bday party next door then she tells me they are too busy at the moment for her to take my call so again, she got my info but I never received a call back. I was really excited at the idea of having my daughters birthday party here but I’m just truly disappointed with the management and or ownership of this place. They do have good ice cream which is why I gave the 2 stars but sadly I wont be returning for the simple fact that Im unhappy with this place in general.

Auntie Anne’s – Menu with Prices – Macy’s Wing, 9677 Destiny USA Dr 2nd Flr, Syracuse

I usually enjoy going to Auntie Anne’s at multiple malls around my hometown. I’m a Buffalo boy, so I don’t usually find myself in the Syracuse area. This was my first time at this location. The first thing that I noticed in the famous “glass case” of foods was a jalapeno pretzel hot dog. I love their jalapeno pretzels. I love their pretzel dogs. But I’ve never seen a jalapeno pretzel dog sold at an Auntie Anne’s before! Mmm! It looked good! Unfortunately, I had just eaten a delicious smoothie from Cold Stone, and was too stuffed to eat the pretzel dog. Plus, I was on a budget. I didn’t want to spend $5 on one of the jalapeno pretzel dogs. Since I had never seen the item before at any Auntie Anne’s, I went up to the counter to have a quick, friendly discussion with a pretzel baker about the jalapeno pretzel dogs. I wanted to know if they were made all the time at this location, if they made them at any other Auntie Anne’s, etc. I went up to the counter, and an energetic, dancing-to-the-beat-of-the-music employee, named Matthew, met my eyes. I told him that the jalapeno pretzel dogs looked delicious, and that I had never seen them before at an Auntie Anne’s. Before I could say more, he quickly asked me, “Do you want one?” I told him that I didn’t think so, this time. I just went to Cold Stone next door for a smoothie and that I was full. I couldn’t eat any more. Matthew grabbed the food tweezers. He opened up the door to the glass case and reached for a jalapeno pretzel dog with his tweezers, with quick speed. Almost as if he was ignoring my reasoning for not wanting the dog. He asked me again, quickly, “Do you want it or not?” It was said in a tone where, if I had to pay for the item, then he would have been a rude mannered, snot nosed brat. However, up to that point, we had made pleasant conversation, and Matthew successfully convinced me that, maybe, he wanted to sneak a jalapeno pretzel dog to me for absolutely free, just because I was nice. Similar events have happened to me at other restaurants, and stores. You get more when you’re nice. Now, I dont usually EXPECT free food from any given restaurant, but I thought, wow! A free pretzel dog from Auntie Anne’s! What a deal! Even though I was stuffed full, I really wanted to taste that jalapeno pretzel dog. I said, “Yeah, sure!” He took the pretzel dog out of the glass case and put it in a bag for me. He brought the bagged pretzel dog over to the counter, and asked me, “Will that be all?” He started to type something on the computer. He wouldn’t. After that impolite, upselling attitude, he wouldn’t. I gave him a dirty look, and said, “Yep. That’s it.” He continued typing on the computer at a quick pace. Still jamming to the music. He might have been on drugs but I couldn’t tell. He brought up the full price of the pretzel dog on the computer. He told me, quickly, “$4.31.” That sneak! Trying to get me to spend money on the pretzel dog when he KNEW that he suckered me in to saying “yes”, hook, line, and sinker! I waved goodbye to him. I knew better than that. I told him as I walked away, “Worded impromperly. Tricky, tricky, guys!” I was infuriated. Never had I been treated that way at an Auntie Anne’s before. I will stick to the Auntie Anne’s locations that are closer to home in Buffalo. I am never going back to this one. The Cold Stone employees were much friendlier to deal with, didnt try to weasel me in to any purchases, gave out free ice cream samples to me when I requested them, and the drink that I purchased at Cold Stone was very tasty, even if you can’t compare pretzels to ice cream. Unbelievable.

Villa Del Rey Cocina Mexicana – Menu with Prices – 720 Schillinger Rd S, Mobile

Seriously the best Mexican restaurant I’ve been to and I eat out to Mexican restaurants weekly. My sister tried this place first and told me how great it was so I planned my daughter’s party here on a short notice! I called about 30 minutes before we got there and asked them to reserve a table for a party. We had no wait time and made it there in timeIt was amazing our waiter was on point! Never had to wait on a refill kept our glasses filled and checked on us. Food was brought out quickly and correct. The food was great! My husband had a few margaritas and they were good and at a great price when we went. even for a party of 12 he did an amazing job and me and my sister left a large tip! Made my daughter feel so special for her birthday they genuinely was excited for her being her birthday and talked with her making her feel like the only girl in the room and she ate it up. She is a sassy 8 year old now. I would recommend this place over any others that I’ve been to! Very nice and clean comfortable setting. They even have a special candle for the birthday girl that was like fireworks or something my daughter was thrilled to say the least everyone in the restaurant loved the candle they used for her! Thanks again for making my daughter’s day so special! We will be returning very soon!!

Hoppin’ Vines – Menu with Prices – 8150 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati

I was a fan of Delicio Coal Fired Pizza on Montgomery Road. I was disappointed when that location closed, and excited to hear that they were re-opening in the old Fridayâ??s location in Kenwood, so I assumed that it would be a return to the old format in a new location. I brought my family and grandkids for an early dinner and discovered that I had to order my food cafeteria-style from the Delecio Pizza stand inside the venue, THEN walk down to the bar to pick up our drinks (including the kidsâ?? soft drinks). This may be no big deal if youâ??re there to enjoy alcoholic beverages with your date, but transporting 6 drinks without a tray for the family is a hassle. Not having a server take your familyâ??s food order from from your table is a hassle. Anyone who dines with children will see this as impractical as I did. This format is unfortunately not a model for success, and I really would like to see Delicio be successful. Please change things to a more family-friendly before itâ??s too late, and weâ??ll be back for another try.

Class Axe Throwing – Menu with Prices – 3400 E 52nd Ave, Denver

My friend wanted to go axe throwing and suggested another establishment but me being a deal seeker found Class Axe on Groupon. We planned on going axe throwing for a week, but made reservations the morning of, which I felt was super lucky. The space is super cute and shares the building with its other business (a haunted house). Upon checking into our reservation, we were told to wait a few more minutes for others in our reservation block. I can’t remember the lady’s name who gave directions on how to throw an axe and explained safety, etc, but she was awesome! Her personality shows that she loves working here and she kept us engaged during the games and competitions. The bar had a list of beers of about 12. Unfortunately for me, they sold out of the Vanilla Bean Stout during the previous reservation, but I was able to get an Apricot Blonde. I loved this place so much that I am coming back next weekend with a girlfriend to celebrate her birthday.
