Always willing to try something new, I decided to try this place because of the review score but was slightly disappointed. The food was good but not great. Had the feeling of a franchise, but not sure if it is. The margarita was okay, chips had a funny grease taste to them – really can’t explain. Salsa was good. Plate portions were small for the price. Service was friendly but not attentive. Server walked off with my $8 margarita without asking if I was done. Please ask customer if done first. My friend’s soda was mixed improperly – syrup tank must be running low, tasted more like soda water. No wow factor, and I left wondering why the review score was so good. I don’t think I will be back. I won’t list my area favorite here but they are listed in my reviews. Just an average experience of C-.

Julie’s Pub & Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 835 Center Point Rd NE, Cedar Rapids

I went in tonight for a band after hearing on Facebook how good they were. The band was great so kuddos to them. The issue was the when the bartender would charge $1.74 for a small clear glass of soda (the ones most bars would use for mixed drinks) and then would make a soda for another customer and charge them $2.00 for a red plastic glass, and another customer charged $1.75 for a soda in the same red plastic glass. The other issue I had is when my friends would go outside or myself go outside, the bartender would be outside smoking a one hitter right in front of the entry door to the building. It was definitely not a vape and was not a cigarette, it was most definitely weed. I have a feeling the bartender getting high is why she was charging different prices for sodas. Definitely WON’T be going to the bar ever again for that reason.

Todd’s Frozen Yogurt – Menu with Prices – 3200 Severn Ave, Metairie

It breaks my heart that I have to make this review because I have been coming to Todd’s since I was a child with my grandparents used to take us since it was a little place in the mall. I’ve come to Todd’s plenty of times at its newer locatio but tonight it was a little bit more special because my boyfriend was in town from up North and I wanted him to try a nectar cream float. Everything would have been fine if the float literally didn’t just taste like cream soda and ice cream. I asked the short woman with the short dark curly hair if I could get some extra nectar syrup in my float since it wasn’t made properly and did not taste like nectar. The woman insisted that “all of the floats contain the same amount of ingredients lol” which makes no sense to me because I’ve had the nectar float for years and this was not properly made! Not to mention I’m pretty sure that they don’t have robots making these floats. As a customer, a food blogger, but more importantly as someone that has supported Todd’s for generations I was taken back when the woman told me I had to spend an extra 90 something cents to put more syrup in my poorly made nector float. Honestly it’s not that I don’t have $0.90 to spare… It’s the fact that she made the mistake and I am the customer and I wasn’t pleased with my order due to Her misdoing! I also have a problem with this because I wanted to show my boyfriend what southern hospitality was and a tradition that I always loved… And instead he saw a money hungry company or woman who doesn’t care what your experience is at her store. After the experience my boyfriend who is a Yankee even said “damn people up north wouldn’t have even charged you for that because the customer is always right”. My boyfriend owns his own business and told me that that was key to why he is so successful. So unfortunately I’m giving you a bad review and I don’t give very bad reviews so that says something! But unless I get an apology from management I’m going to have to keep this and all of my reviews up. At this point I don’t think I would recommend this establishment to my friends and family which makes me feel sad because they don’t care if you’re satisfied or not â?â???ð???. So I apologize for the bad reviews but it was honestly the principle of the matter that made me so angry and disappointed. I’ve been a lifelong customer and I hope you enjoy your $0.90.

Snoman Snoballs Menu with Prices 14616 Tiger Bend Rd, Baton Rouge

The last two times I’ve visited two different locations and ordered the same type of snoball both times the syrup/flavor tasted weak and almost had very little flavor. Also at the 1st location I had to return to the window and ask for more syrup because my snoball was so dry nothing came up through the straw. IDK if they’re adding food color or H20 to the syrup to make it last but its def changed since last summer.

Cousins Maine Lobster Raleigh – Menu with Prices – 411 W Morgan St, Raleigh

I was really looking forward to eating this tonight after seeing them on Shark Tank as well as the giant line their food truck has had at a few of the Raleigh food truck events. Between the 3 of my family members we ordered a Maine lobster roll, lobster tacos combo with tots, shrimp tacos, lobster bisque, 1 water and 1 lemonade. Total came to $55.48. The woman who took our order was friendly. This was really a mixed review of the food. I tasted all that was ordered to sample. The highlight was the lobster bisque. Very smooth consistency, great flavor and had a few pieces of chopped lobster mixed in. The lobster tacos were good as well, topped with fresh pico. The most lackluster item was unfortunately the one I personally ordered which was the cold lobster roll. The bun was nicely toasted with the perfect amount of butter to not be greasy. The lobster itself was cooked well, but really lacked seasoning. What surprised me most though was that it appeared to have no mayonnaise. The first few bites I took I didn’t taste any…then I realized it was globed on the bottom of the bun and the lobster placed on top. I hate to say it, but it was rather unappetizing (see pic). My suggestion would be for the lobster to be mixed with a seasoned mayonnaise mixture and also to throw on some traditional celery leaves. The slaw had potential, but really lacked seasoning as well. Lastly, the shrimp tacos, like the lobster ones, had great flavor. They were loaded, but with TINY shrimp. My husband agreed he would’ve rather had 5-6 medium/large shrimp to actually have something to bite in to, rather than several extra small shrimp.

ISE Japanese restaurant – Menu with Prices – 2213 Cloverdale Ave, Winston-Salem

If I could give this restaurant zero stars I would. I have been there several times for Boba teas. A few months ago we ordered two teas. She brought them out with one straw not in the wrapping. When I mentioned that the straw was open and I would need a new one and another one for TWO teas she said “we are out of straws” and then gave me two soda straws. The tapioca pearls do not fit through regular straws. Fast forward to tonight. I decided to give them another chance. She came out with two teas. One with whipped cream and one without. They were out of whipped cream. And two soda straws because they were out of straws! What are the odds that can happen twice?? A couple of other things to note. It is always empty. No matter the day or time. The fish tank probably hasn’t been cleaned in years. It’s truly disgusting and it’s front and center when you walk in.

Thom’s Bread Bakery – Menu with Prices – 113 Butler Ave, Lancaster

Stopped in on a whim. The place was completely empty except the owners. We heard a lot about it so wanted to try a pizza. Menu listed margarita pizza so we ordered a small. The owner said they only have the dough for larges but we did not want a large. My thoughts, cut the dough in half and make two smalls. Well he ended up just doing the large anyway for the same price. Pizza was good. Very bread like instead of the traditional crust but the place is called Toms bread. Our margarita ended up just being plain cheese. I don’t think he actually knows that it’s supposed to be fresh mozzarella and basil. He had us all confused on the drinks as well since he was calling sparkling water, “gas water”. I don’t think he is from around here. Pizza was so so. Maybe is was because we were expecting one thing but got another

The Bistro ? Eat. Drink. Connect.® – Menu with Prices – 521 President Clinton Ave, Little Rock

I ordered a roasted chicken breast to go. While I waited I sat at the bar and ordered a margarita. The margarita was really good, the bartender did a great job mixing just the perfect amount of tequila and margarita mixer so that you had a solid taste for both the alcohol and the sweetness. Although it was about a 16oz margarita it was 1/2 ice for $11. The roasted chicken was so disappointing. Although the chicken was good the amount of the dish was so little. It was paired w a side of fresh carrots, celery, and cucumber for $17 dollars. Didn’t like that after all. I could’ve ordered something that was way more filling for that amount.

DFW Vapor Louisville – Menu with Prices – 5037 Shelbyville Rd, Louisville

These folks are awesome! I’m fairly new to vaping (quit cigarettes about 5 weeks ago), and they are very knowledgeable, and able to explain everything very clearly. I bought a new tank, and something didn’t seem right, so I took it back. They tried to troubleshoot, and then just replaced my tank. They have an awesome flavor selection as well. I got a bottle of what they told me was their most popular, “unicorn venom”, and it seriously tastes like cotton candy dissolving on your tongue. They also offer a 15% discount for military! Even if they didn’t have a discount, they’ve earned my continued business!

PICK’S At PLX Menu with Prices 530 Portage Lakes Drive, Akron

I’ve heard such great things about this place and I really wanted to love it. I went with my husband for dinner, and things were off to a great start. They had fantastic grapefruit martinis and the homemade white French dressing on my salad was delicious. However, there was a lot of shredded cheese that in comparison to the salad greens was hard and created an uninviting texture. My husband ordered the steak and red skin potatoes. His steak came out well done, and he ordered it medium. The potatoes were well seasoned, but dry. He ate his meal saying as he can eat well done, and he enjoyed the sear and seasoning on the meat. I ordered the salmon and risotto. There were long stringy pieces of onion in my risotto, which was basically rice with the taste of onions. It was not risotto. There should not be anything stringy in risotto, and it should not be a solid mass like mashed potatoes. The salmon was fishy and tasted rotten. When I told the server, she took it back immediately and apologized. However, I learned another customer had the same complaint, which led me to wonder a few things. First, does the chef taste what is being sent out? Do they feel comfortable serving bad fish, which can lead to serious food poisoning? Did they think the other complaining customer was lying? I ordered the margarita pizza instead of the salmon. It was a cheese pizza, not a margarita pizza. Just a cheese pizza with tomato on it. I’ve had real margarita pizza, and this was not it. Not even close. I did eat it because I was starving, and brought it home to my son with his 17 and will eat anything. So very disappointing. I doubt we will return, unless we just want drinks. I will say our server was very sweet.

Q&Q Hawaiian bbq – Menu with Prices – 27530 Newhall Ranch Rd #101, Santa Clarita

First, I want to say that in regards to the food; this place is 5 stars all the way. The low rating today comes after repeated oversights on orders that are picked up. Last Order: No Ice in Soda Specified-Tons of Ice Received. Previous Order: No Sauce. Previous Order: Wrong Soda Previous Order: No utensils or Soda. Yikes! Unlike being there in person where one could quickly fix an error, these orders arrive via Doordash etc and it’s not until then that you find out there is a mistake. Happy to update this review to 5 stars if the owner reaches out regarding the accuracy of the pick up orders (Just an acknowledgement that a quality check will be done before letting the items leave the establishment) Again, amazing food and a great experience if you eat at the location. If you’re picking up food…well at the moment, it’s been really hit or miss. -Alex Update 24MAY19: Ray the owner reached out today to apologize, but also provide some insight into how an order can be modified outside of their control; and that helps understand why things went astray. Updating my review to 5 stars and appreciate the quick response to customer feedback. Thank you Ray! -Alex

Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 1140 Eldridge Pkwy, Houston

Sylvia’ has been a favorite of my mo an her coworkers being so close to her job so I decided to meet a friend there to get dinner and we we happy with our experience. We ordered queso flameado to start and I had tostados and she had beef nachos for our entree’s. I’m used to having my queso flameado actually still flaming when served but no biggie, it was really good! My friend’s nachos were originally delivered without any beef and the remade her entire order. The ingredients seemed very fresh but I cannot say I found the food particularly delicious or anything. The drinks were great though. My friend’s Italian Margarita and my Watermelon margarita were delicious. My friend also had the chocolate tres leches cake and said it was amazing! She’s a good judge of that but I don’t eat tres leches…just not my thing. I’m sure I will be back because the service was wonderful and the ingredients fresh. I can see why my mom and her friends keep coming back.
