I had been waiting to go to this newly opened restaurant in downtown Glendale and finally had the chance to check it out on Friday. We didn’t have reservations and were going somewhere else but since we walked by Chess Park we decided to try our luck. Both the interior and exterior are beautifully decorated. Very rustic and chic with lots of market lights outside which gives it a very laid back yet romantic vibe. They also had a live band playing all the way to the end of the patio. When we walked in the hostess stand was empty. We waited a few minutes before someone greeted us. Once we were greeted it was by a lovely woman who asked if we wanted inside or outside seating. She told us only the shared bar table was available but as we walked outside to our luck a couple of tables had already opened up so we grabbed one of them. Right away they brought out a plate of chips with a pink sauce. It was delicious although there were a few soggy chips mixed in with fresh crispy ones. That’s a pet peeve of mine, to have soft and soggy chips or fries mixed in with fresh ones. Not long after our waitress Kirstin (hope I’m speaking her name correctly) approached us. She was lovely and very polite. We asked for some still water, and I asked her for a cocktail she recommendation and she suggested their newest cocktail. I didn’t even look at the menu and trusted her recommendation and went with that. She did mention it’s purple and very pretty. We also ordered a side of truffle fries, the Chess Park Original burger and the Chess Park OG flat bread. We admired the outdoors and the live music playing while some guests were dancing. About 15 minutes later and a second plate of chips later hen first came out our truffle fries, about 5 minutes after that the burger and about 5 minutes after the flatbread. Everything looked great. I was however disappointed looking at the flatbread. It looked like a pizza you would order on game day, it was just in a shape of a rectangular flatbread. I ate a slice of it and it tasted like boxed pizza as well. I was disappointed. Btw, all the while there was no sign of my cocktail. I took bite of the burger and it was great. The meat was tasty and the special sauce on top was delicious. The fries were perfectly seasoned as well. Still no sign of my cocktail. Kirstin came by to check on us and at this point we were done with our meal so I asked her if she could please cancel the drink but she insisted that the bartenders were “making sure the drink is perfect” and that is why it’s taking a bit long. So we waited some more and she came back with the cocktail and said it would be off the bill but she still wanted me to try it. It was very kind of her to do that. The drink really was pretty as she mentioned but was very strong to the point that my husband had to drink the rest. It wasn’t enjoyable for me. Overall, this place has a very beautiful and chic atmosphere and ambiance. The live band is fun. But the service is slow and the food we ordered were average. Nothing special.

The Habit Burger Grill – Menu with Prices – Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Terminal 3, 3400 E Sky Harbor Blvd, Phoenix

So I ordered a plain double char burger and an order of french fries under my name. I waited about 10 min and I heard them call out a double char burger. I was surprised they weren’t using my name since the computer asked for it. I walked towards the counter to get it and another customer who came later than me got it first and walked away. So I figured it wasn’t mine and I waited another 10 min. The customer service lady saw me waiting and asked what I ordered. I showed her my receipt and she took it and couldn’t find it on the screen. I’m assuming she cancelled it out when she gave my burger to the other guy. So she called out what I ordered to the cooks so they could make it. 10 min later I ask what the status is of my order and she asks me what I ordered again. I told her and she preceded to open a wrapped burger behind her and rewrap it, put it in a bag and hand it to me. I reopened it on the counter in front of her to make sure it wasn’t messed up. It was a single patty with everything on it, very clearly not mine. I then told her my order again, loud enough for the cooks in the back to hear. 10 min later I was handed a bag. I opened it to find a plain double char burger and an order of sweet potato fries. I told her I ordered normal fries, so she swapped them out. All told, I waited 40 min for a plain double char burger and an order of fries. The lady working there was the most incompetent employee I’ve ever seen. Without a doubt, my worst customer service experience, and there were about four other customers going through the same.

Santa Fe Bite-ABQ Menu with Prices 3407 Central Ave NE, Albuquerque

I was looking forward to trying Santa Fe Bite and drove in from Rio Rancho. I was hungry and was eager to try “The Best Green Chile Cheeseburger” in the State of New Mexico. No one greeted my friend and I upon entering, so after waiting a bit, we sat ourselves at one of the tables. The server eventually came over with menus and asked what we wanted to drink. When drinks arrived, I asked some questions that I thought were fairly basic. I was interested in ordering their 10 oz. green chile cheeseburger, but wanted to know if I could substitute fries instead of their side of chips. The server did not know and had to ask his manager. When he returned, he informed me that substituting fries for the chips was not possible. The price of the burger and chips was $12.90. Fries I believe were $2.95 and were extra. No Substitutions! I tried to find their menu on line to be accurate, but their website, nor any other source, has their menu and prices. An article about the Albuquerque Santa Fe Bite location, mentioned that their menu would feature the same items at the same prices as Santa Fe. Yes they do. If I pay $12.90 + tax + tip for a green chile cheeseburger, I am expecting perfection. After all, isn’t this supposed to be the best green chile cheeseburger in the state? I ordered medium. I got well done. We had waited so long to get our meal, that I basically said “screw it” and ate it because I was so hungry and figured it would be another 30 minutes for them to make another one. It was dry and tasteless. Medium means pink throughout, mine was gray. The chips were cold. My friend ordered sweet potato fries, and for the amount extra charged, the quantity of fries was minuscule. No one ever came by to ask if everything was OK. Service was very slow and disorganized. It took me almost to the end of the meal to try and get someone to refill my water. Asking for the check took inordinately long. A party came in, sat down, looked at the menu, and left. Santa Fe prices in Albuquerque are not going to cut it! I realize they have not been open for very long, but they need to improve immensely if they are going to see me pay $12.90 for a green chile cheeseburger again.

We Olive & Wine Bar – Menu with Prices – 32 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena

This is a cute store with a variety of olive oils on the shelves. I learned about it through a Facebook ad, and upon clicking on it, I received a 50% coupon via Facebook messenger for the charcuterie cheese plate. It’s located on the busy strip of Colorado Blvd in Old Town Pasadena. You can park at the 90 mins free parking structure on De Lacey. Upon entering they have some samples of olive oil for customers to try. The staff were friendly and greeted me cordially. They have a cute little patio and I went there to wait for a friend. We decided to sit indoor, which had a casual, cozy, and relaxing ambiance. We ordered the artisan cheese & charcuterie plate and the burrata flatbread. As we were waiting, a staff member brought us a plate of sample olive oils to taste. Some of those oils were interesting. The charcuterie plate was lovely. There were 3 kinds of cheese: Port Derby, Toma, & St. Angel. The Port was interesting. The flavor was not strong but certainly the texture was firm. The Toma reminds me of mozzarella except it had a saltier flavor. The St. Angel resembled brie except it had a hint of citrus flavor. The charcuterie were the wild boar and Tartufo. Both were cut in thin but firm round slices, texture wise they were similar to Chinese sausages. The wild boar tasted like jerkies. The Tartufo had a more pronounced taste likely from the spices and truffle in it. There were some sort of mustard sauce and fig jam. The plate came with a small, cut up loaf of baguette bread, crackers, and olive oil for dipping. The fig jam was bomb, especially if you put a bit in the flatbread. The burrata flatbread had basil pesto, salami, and aged balsamic sauce on it. It was slightly more doughy than other flatbreads elsewhere but was still warm and soft and delightful. Since there was balsamic sauce in it, the fig jam from the charcuterie mixed in well with each bite, a new level of freshness to the taste buds. In addition, they gave us 10% on the flatbread with yelp check in. The waitress (Marissa) was attentive and helpful. I love the whole experience here. If you’re looking for a calm and relaxing spot with friendly staff to chill, and you’d like to have a feel for Italian snack, I would highly recommend this spot!

Will’s Grill – Menu with Prices – 4011 Sycamore Dairy Rd #100, Fayetteville

This is a nice little burger spot located across from Carmax on Sycamore Dairy Rd. It’s small but it’s a great place to go for lunch. As soon as I entered I was greeted w/ smiles & warmth by a nice little old lady behind the counter. Apparently her son owns this spot and he works the grill while Mom & Pops help out. I got the Cowboy burger w/ BBQ sauce. It came w/ a huge onion ring in it, cheddar cheese & the softest buns I’ve ever had on a burger. Burger was huge and I had to take half of it home. The flavor is on point because it has a chargrilled taste to it. The fries are addicting…seriously! I don’t know what he puts on them but even McDonalds fries can’t compete. For around $9, you get a huge burger, fries, & a drink. I was a huge 5 Guys fan until I ate here and I have truly found my burger spot. ONE issue…they close way to early! (3pm). Will, stay open at least until rush hour is over. (7pm). I guarantee you would have lines going out the door because no one likes to cook these days. If you want hot, fresh, and delicious food w/ a smile, drop by and see Will. You will walk away full & happy.

Vicki’s Lunch Van, LLC. – Menu with Prices – 2520 Fairground Rd, Montgomery

I was looking for another burger spot while in Montgomery and came across Vicki’s Lunch Van (Without the Van). This is a small place with walk up ordering. You’ll probably open the door and already be at the back of the line, don’t worry-it move fast so stick around and get a burger and fries. The 6oz was the perfect size, the 8oz is a big burger so be ready to get both hands messy putting that big ol burger away. Burgers come with cheese and all the fixins, you can of course ask to have things removed but live a little and just eat it like it comes. The FRIES were dang good, hot and crispy like they should be. Grab some season salt to toss on them off a table! Combo comes with burger, fries and a drink for less than $9, cant beat that. If you are in Montgomery swing out and grab a burger from Vicki’s!

Burgerim Gourmet Burgers – Menu with Prices – 800 Ocala Rd #350, Tallahassee

I was excited to try the Uncut (plant based) burger here but was met with nothing but issues from the door. While ordering the cashiers rings our burgers up as 1/3lb Angus Beef burgers and I’m like “whoa, uh, we are vegetarian. Those need to be changed to the plant based burgers.” She responds by telling me that there is no button in the machine for the Uncut burger and so she has to ring it up this way and then tell the cook to switch it to the Uncut burger. Major red flag! Had I have listed to my gut we would have said “no thank you” and just walked out, but we stayed nonetheless. My boyfriend and I ordered our burgers two different ways. He also ordered a combo and I simply asked for fries and no drink. We were charged for 2 combos anyway and I was handed a cup which I filled with water since I don’t drink sodas or juice. After having been seated for 23 minutes his burger comes to the table and not only was his burger all the way wrong, but when the cashier came back over to us she states that they have run out of fries (this is like 7pm on a Saturday and we are one of only 2 sets of customers in the place) and asks if I’d like onion rings instead. I opt for a combo of rings and sweet potato fries and a full 6 minutes later my burger and sides show up. My burger has the standard toppings on it, not the ones I ordered and my rings were seriously overcooked. If I weren’t already so annoyed and tired I would have sent it back, but I figured I’d just eat so we could get the hell out of the place. The flavor of the Uncut patty is amazing and that is THE ONLY REASON THIS PLACE GETS ONE STAR! Anyone looking for great service and a decent burger (vegan or otherwise) in town would do much better to go to Vertigo. Burgerim is the worst!

WNB Factory – Wings & Burger – Menu with Prices – 4685 Presidential Pkwy #35, Macon

I’m not quite sure why anyone would rate this location with 1 star. Considering that the first reviewer had ONLY this one review, I’m inclined to believe there’s some personal agenda in their post. But I believe in fairness – I was greeted with sincere welcomes when I entered with my 2-year old granddaughter. She was curious and looked around and the young man at the register was so courteous and patient. After I assured she was settled, I ordered the veggie burger. The young man suggested the addition of fries and drink for $1 each. He was kind enough to give the grandbaby a cup, although she is beyond picky and wouldn’t drink anything I put in it. We waited patiently for our order. I had asked for my fries to be crispy – and they were perfect. The young man told me that my burger would have Romain lettuce, yet it turned out to be iceberg – I pulled it off without verbal objections. Yet, I didn’t see any avacado on the sandwich and had to ask. He told me it was in the veggie pattie, but when he asked the kitchen, he brought me some fresh cut slices of avacado. I deducted 1 star because of the lack of his knowledge of the ingredients. Yet, the other 4 stars are so bright they boost this review back to 5! The portion of fries was astronomical and way too many for us. The food was fresh and hot. The store was pretty clean (a table or 2 did need to be wiped down). I’ll be back because they are one of the few places in middle GA that offers a decent vegetarian burger.

Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews – Menu with Prices – 4605 South Landing Way, Tucson

Red Robin – Where the food is just OK, the service is really bad and the management customer service is nice. My daughter and I arrived early to beat the crowds and hopefully have a decent meal with decent service. We beat the crowds since it wasn’t even half full yet. We ordered our drinks and the short stack of onion rings (6 rings). My drink came out quickly, but since my daughter ordered one of the Cream Sodas and it took longer for her to receive hers. After about 10 minutes after my daughter received her drink her burger showed up. She had ordered the Pigout Tavern Double Burger with their in house made chips. 10 minutes later the manager came by and told us that there was something wrong and that she would pay for the onion tower short stack. At which point she asked what I had ordered. Wait a minute, you mean to tell me that I placed my order 20 minutes ago and our onion rings 30 minutes ago and you just now tell me something was wrong. I reminded her that I had ordered the Guacamole Bacon Burger with Chipotle Aioli for my side salad. Well my burger finally showed up but instead of a container full of Chipotle Aioli, there was hardly any, maybe a quarter full (and that is stretching it). I was well into my burger when our appetizer finally showed up and my daughter was almost done with hers. They were very hot, but super greasy. The onion rings came with full containers of ranch dressing and their Camp-Fire Mayo dipping sauces. Kind of what I was expecting with the Chipotle Aioli. Maybe the Chipotle Aioli is made of gold and the 50 cent up charge for the Chipotle Aioli only gives you so much. Bottomless sides means bottomless fries. As I mentioned before I had a side salad and my daughter had the chips. We got more fries. But how can I get more fries, if I didn’t want fries. What about more chips? Or a refill on my salad with some more of that rare Chipotle Aioli. Sodas were supposed to be unlimited as well, but we were limited to one each. So, overall the food was just ok. The burgers only ok and the guacamole was spread so thin that I hardly noticed it was there. The chips were very dark (almost burnt) and had no flavor. I guess if you wanted you could have paid for some dipping sauce, but we saw how well that work with the Chipotle Aioli. It was nice the manager covered our onion rings, but there were other issue here that they need to take care of. Maybe they were a bit short staffed tonight, but when you watch her punch in the order at the table on a little handheld device, how do you lose two thirds of our order? I think after this experience we will pass on going back again.

Three Rivers Distilling Company – Menu with Prices – 224 E Wallace St, Fort Wayne

Mixed reviews on this place. Chicken Risotto was excellent, my wife’s flatbread was just ok. Bruschetta appetizer was really good. So, 4 stars for the food. For the rest, not so good. We were greeted, sort of, by a silent host- walked in, looked around, and could not find the host station- he just watched us wander around. He seated us, didn’t say a word. Well, ok. The waitress gave us our menus, and came back for our drink menu. Turns out, they were completely out of all the barrel aged drinks, which is about half the drink menu. Okay, but maybe you tell us that when we sit down, so we don’t spend ten minutes trying to decide on menu items that don’t exist. I order a botanical gin and notice the drink is missing the lemon and the basil. I say something to the waitress and she asks, well do you want me to bring a slice of lemon and some basil on a plate so you can add it. Ummm, no thanks… Since our waitress wasn’t going to say anything to the bartender, I walked up and told her the drink didn’t contain all of the ingredients- she said, it doesn’t take basil, just mint. Oh well… Maybe, just maybe you comp the 10.00 drink that you screwed up- I don’t think that even remotely occurred to the waitress. Weird service- won’t be back

Joey’s Terra Losa – Menu with Prices – 17018 95 Ave NW, Edmonton

It was only ok…. I checked this place out for the second time for dinner on Saturday. The decor would be appealing to fisherman, or maybe our friends from the east coast provinces. There are a few fish tanks with some cute little fish to entertain you, otherwise the place is a dark. I felt like I was dining on the inside of an old pirate ship…which isn’t a bad thing I suppose. It took a while (4 minutes) to be greeted, then another 2 minutes before we were seated. The waitress was busy but friendly and apologetic…but didn’t bring us menus for another 5 minutes or so. So we were antsy and thirsty for the first 10 minutes of our arrival. I ordered a Cajun Blackened Halibut Sandwich with fries ($15). My guest ordered a 2 piece combo of battered Haddock and fries (also $15). The food came out quickly…but we were sadly disappointed. My sandwich had a very small fillet which was drowned out by thick bun. The sauce (not dry blackened seasoning which I expected) and was very messy. My guest’s plate looked like a child’s combo. Very small pieces of fish, and literally 16 fries (we counted). He is a big guy….so he suggested that we go for a quick burger after supper to fill up. We quickly finished our meals, and the waitress offered more fries…which are apparently bottomless….which was news to us. So of course we ordered another round, which didn’t come for another 10 minutes. There is tartar sauce readily available on all of the tables…but it tasted like room temperature mayo, and the bottles are crusted with old sauce on the tops..and just not appealing. My guest is from Nova Scotia, and sadly Joey’s didn’t come close to his expectations for fish and chips. I didn’t mind my sandwich, but it wasn’t worth $15 for the portion, the wait, and the general ambiance of the place. P.S. Their specialty fish is Pollock! Which is just sad. They don’t even mention on the menu that it is Pollock, we asked…and passed. Cheers

Bella Vista Lounge – Menu with Prices – 2600 Tiburon Dr, Naples

After work my boss and I decided to grab a late bite for dinner. Our cocktail waitress greeted us and handed us after 10pm menus. We ordered a shrimp cocktail to start and a grilled chicken sandwich for him, while I ordered the ritz Carlton burger medium rare with blue cheese and bacon. When our eyes set upon the plate of shrimp bestowed upon us, we both exclaimed how plump, fresh and abundant it was. As we each took a bite I thought it was delicious and observed how it was cleaned perfectly. My burger on the other hand did not have bacon. Darn they forgot the best part:( I usually order my meat medium rare and my experience in this case was that it was bland. The waffle fries were extremely dry almost as if you were stranded in the desert and your throat was so parched you might pass out dry. Earlier, I had eaten the grilled chicken sandwich for lunch which I thought tasted marvelous. The avocado paired with provolone and bacon was ingenious. Oh well you can’t win them all;)

the Bent Wrench Roadhouse – Menu with Prices – 4724 Ashland City Rd, Clarksville

Sat down at the bar, took 10 minutes to get a Diet Coke . Another 10 minutes to take order for burger and fries. Sign said 15 minutes wait time. After 30 minutes sign changed to 60 minutes. It took an hour to get my order. Friend ordered when I did, I finished my meal which was not good and his still not out. Had to cancel his order and departed. Bad service…bad food! Unless you are a regular don’t bother to stop here. Regulars were getting there order but not us. Made a complaint, answer was – we are busy today. 931-241-1292 I won’t be stopping here again anytime soon.
