Came here because this was not a chain. We were mostly happy with the meal. At mid-afternoon, it was an unexpected packed house even for the staff. However, we were seated relatively quickly. Wife got a beer flight which the waiter said had to be at least three of the more than a dozen available that are made here. Of the three she chose, two were mostly acceptable and one was a complete failure. She’ll know for next time to avoid any sour German ales. The two others, featuring banana and strawberry notes, were ok. Wife mostly drinks Bud or Coors Light, so this beer experience was not the best. I had a variation of a Rum and Coke which also was just ok. For food, we started with the best item of the afternoon – strawberry chili wings. This wet sauce was awesome with a hint of strawberry. Wings were not overdone and a good size. I probably should have just gotten a bunch of those. The waiter said this is what they sell the most of and I can see why. Kid had a BLT, which he said the bacon was perfect. Wife had a garden salad with grilled chicken which also tasted fine if bland. The chicken was a bit charred with grill marks in a not good way. I had a Reuben which was pretty good but had a bite with the mustard that was used or the house made meat that I did not care for. The fries were crunchy. The food came out a bit slow but this was probably because of the huge lunch rush the day after a holiday. $62 not including tip for a 3-flight, one drink, two entrées, some wicked good wings, and a salad with grilled chicken. Have to mention that it sure seems that there were a lot of regulars “Cheers” style here having a good time. Customers were genuinely interested in the Wimbledon match playing on the TVs.

Thayer Street Deli – Menu with Prices – 267 Thayer St, Providence

Was excited to see that someone had filled the pace vacated by sandwich. Stopped in for a quick bite on a Sunday afternoon. There is a pretty varied menu (I assume based on the proximity to Brown and student preferences) in my opinion this may be the downfall. A friend and I split a couple of sandwiches; the Reuben and the Chicken Pesto. The Chicken Pesto was a decent sandwich with well flavored grilled chicken and the melted Mozzarella cheese. The Reuben was fairly regular and nothing jumped out. The meal comes with fries, a larger steak fry, nothing spectacular.

Buffalo Station House – Menu with Prices – 445 Delaware Ave, Buffalo

We stopped in this afternoon with the intention of trying the Station House wing challenge. For those who are unaware, the eater is tasked with eating 6 very hot wings in 20 minutes or less and anyone who completes it is awarded with a pitcher of beer. I was disappointed to find out that the challenge was not only not available, it wasn’t even on the menu anymore. The bar itself was pretty large and spacious, even though I would consider seating options very minimal. The whole place appeared to be newly remodeled and was appointed with a ton of police/fire paraphernalia. The bar seemed nice enough and the Waiter/Bartender was very friendly so we decided to stick around for lunch even though they didn’t have our preferred menu choice. We proceeded to order 20 wings anyways because it’s basically customary to eat wings at every new Buffalo bar. After a pretty sizable wait in a 90% empty bar we were brought our wings, 10 Hot and 10 Cajun. The hot looked good and were covered in sauce, the Cajun appeared to be a dry rub. The best thing I can say for the wings is that they were large and very crispy. On a flavor scale they left a lot to be desired. Although the hot looked hot, I would describe them as more of a “wet mild”, the Cajun were dry and flavorless. My wife and I ate about half of the wings and took the rest home. They were so bland that I plan to shake them in franks hot sauce before I try to eat them again. If these are considered hot wings, then the challenge must have been a cake walk. I’m picturing wings with a light sprinkle of Tabasco. Overall rating after one visit is a low 3 stars. Bar decor, wait staff, cleanliness, bathrooms, all were pretty good, however they were out of my first choice beer and the wings were poor at best.

Myers’ Deli & More – Menu with Prices – 221 S Phillips Ave, Sioux Falls

Have been wanting to try this since it opened. Now that “Bite Squad” is in our city, I decided to order it for delivery! I ordered the Architect and a side of potato salad. I would give the sandwich a 4/5 and the potato salad a 3/5. The pastrami was amazing and could tell a lot of tender loving care was put into making that. The mustard gave it just the right spice accompanied with shaved onion and pickles. However, the marble rye bread was not good. It was such a disappointment to have such quality ingredients on such dry, tasteless sandwich bread. The potato salad was good but not great. Lots of onion to make for quite the afternoon breathe at work.

German Guys German Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 10438 Waterloo Rd, Stockton

My wife and I had lunch here on a Thursday, I mention this because they are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. As soon as we entered the door we were met by the waitress who graciously seated us and took our drink order. We would later find out that this young lady and her husband were the owners. There is a lunch menu and a dinner menu. There are additional items on the dinner menu. We both ordered the Pork Schnitzel. My sides were the potatoe salad and the noodle salad. My wife had read a comment from someone else about there being peas in the potatoe salad. I liked the peas. They added a sweetness that I enjoyed. The noodle salad included white chicken chunks which was a nice extra protein. My wife also had the potatoe salad which she enjoyed. Her second side was sauerkraut. I tried a bite of the sauerkraut and decided next time to have it as one of my sides. Let me say here that I was not exposed to German food growing up like my wife was. Throughout our lunch my wife was reminiscing about her mom’s German influenced meals. When our lovely waitress asked if we wanted mustard or ketchup with our meals my wife said yes to mustard, because that was how they ate Schnitzel as children. I really liked it with mustard too. We were too full to have desert but seeing Yelp pictures of the Apple Strudel makes me want to try it the next time we go back. As we were about to leave the husband/Chef came into the dining room and was speaking with another couple there. By the time we paid our bill, this young German couple had ingratiated themselves to us both. This is another family (mom and pop) business that is deserving of our (and your support) to succeed. I am looking forward to coming back and expanding my introduction and appreciation for German home style cooking.

Carolina Wings & Ribhouse – Menu with Prices – 1120 Washington St #3215, Columbia

We had dinner here before catching a movie at the Nick. Carolina Wings occupies a building that was formerly Tony’s Pizza, which has been defunct for years. They have done a lot with the space, but the front entrance into the building is a little weird. You’re going to feel sketchy walking in. When we arrived on a Thursday night around 6:30, the place was deserted except for employees. A hostess greeted us, but we chose to sit at the bar. The bartender was really cool and had good taste in music. We ordered some beers and started with Fried Mushrooms as an appetizer. The mushrooms are awesome! The batter is zesty without being too salty, and the mushrooms inside are fresh and not watery or slimy. In our opinion, these are in the Top Three Best Fried Mushrooms in Columbia. For supper, I had the Carolina Salad with fried chicken and ranch dressing, and had them toss the chicken in BBQ sauce. It was amazing. The salad was huge, the chicken was crispy, the sauce was good, and their ranch dressing is very good. My SO got an order of TeriCajun wings. They are billed as Jumbo Wings, so that description on the menu scared me off because we both actually prefer smaller crispy wings. However, these wings were smaller and crispy and delicious. They resemble the wings at Publick House, which is our favorite wing place. Carolina Wings has a ton of wing flavors and sauces. My SO didn’t really care for the fact that the Cajun dry rub on his wings was a little too salty, so he said he’d get a different flavor next time. Overall, this is a great place for a meal. The Bartender said they do a lot of lunch business, but not as much traffic at Dinner. The food is excellent, the menu is large, the beer is cold and the people are friendly. We will add Carolina Wings and Rib House into our Main Street rotation! If you haven’t been, go!

Slainte Irish Pub Monkey Junction – Menu with Prices – 5607 Carolina Beach Rd #100, Wilmington

This place sucks. There is no other way to say it. The food is freaking delicious with no regard to the damage its going to do to my bank account. To make it worse they partnered with uber eats so I dont even have to leave my house (god I hate leaving my house) to get their delicious food whenever I want. Jokes aside I’ve ordered from them twice this week. Uber eats chunks on quite a bit to the bill which sucks but the price of the food itself is very reasonable. I cant stress enough for introverts like myself and my wife how great it is to be able to order online. If you guys read this please check out Surfside Express or Cape Fear Delivery as they are FAR cheaper then uber eats. Onto the food though. When I order from somewhere new I like to try a wide variety. There is not a lot of Irish pub style food available for delivery in Wilmington so this is awesome! The reuben egg rolls…amazing! There is a really great amount of filling inside and who doesnt love a Reuben? Added bonus the egg roll doesnt get soggy like the bread would. The buffalo wings…great. Im sure they would be 9/10 at the restaurant. Theres no great way to deliver wings so they dont get soggy (except for vented plastic containers) but both times I ordered them they were still decently crisp. I ordered them extra well done you may want to do the same. Really good flavor. The Irish cannonballs… fried mashed potato balls with cheese chives and bacon…awesome. The skins…I thought these would be potato skins but they’re like strips of potatoes coated like a blooming onion. Pretty yummy but kind of heavy. Corned beef platter…actually really didnt like this. Was kind of surprising cause the reuben egg rolls are top notch. But the amount of corned beef they gave felt kinda small, it the meat was sweet? Like I think there was cinnamon on it and I was just not a fan. Maybe I didnt read the description properly. They gave a good amount of cabbage and potatoes with it and the mustard was really great. Just should not be sweet. Blackened chicken…pretty ok. I asked for it cooked well done and it wasnt at all but the seasoning was very good. Im just odd and tend to like my meat more well done. Burger…what can you mess up about a burger? Was really great. Soda bread….very sweet and buttery very yummy. Price on this one feels a bit off for what you get but the taste is 10/10. Chicken tenders…very good lots of seasoning options. I tried the cajun ones and enjoyed quite a bit. Lastly the service. My wife wanted the green tomato BLT. We got a call a few minutes after I put the order in the restaurant was out of green tomatoes. The woman who called was very patient waiting for me to talk to my wife to figure out what she wanted. And then my wife opted for the more expensive burger but they didnt upcharge for the inconvenience. Really nice touch. Will order from these bastards again.

Oakland Airport Executive Hotel – Menu with Prices – 150 Hegenberger Rd, Oakland

We are staying overnight here to catch an early flight. The front desk said the chiefs are great and everything on the menu is good. A basserbyer was stopped by the front desk agent and said she stays here all the time, ask her if t bnb e restaurant is good. So I did. She responded I have never eaten here. We decided to enter Bistro 150. As we entered the restaurant there white linens covering all the tables and a small bar at the far end. They have a very small open kitchen with one cook and one server to assist a full bar and dining room. We took a set at the end of the bar and waited for the server. Within a few minutes he acknowledged us and said he would be right over. He brought us breakfast menus, then one dinner menu. I quickly ordered a stella beer and my wife ordered a pineapple and vodka beverage. The beer was good and the vodka tasted like rubbing alcohol. Nasty. I ordered a caesar salad and grilled cheese with fries. My wife ordered the vegetarian sandwich. The cook pulled two frozen eggplant patties from the freezer and dropped it in the fryer. After a few minutes he pulled them from the fryer and began to build the sandwich. At this time I noticed the cook pulling bacon from the fryer basket. It does appear that he was trying the bacon in the fryer. If you are allergic to meat, be careful that they are not frying bacon when they are cooking your meal.my grilled cheese was everything you would think it would be. Greasy melted cheese. The caesar salad was underdressed and served with store bought croutons. Overall the beer was the highlight of the meal. If you have opportunity to grab a bite somewhere else…… please do that.

Mug Shotz Sports Bar & Grill – Menu with Prices – 2808 Ogden Rd SE, Calgary

I’ve been there a few times, typically slow with wings but good when you get them. Large wings, lots of flavours and always hot. Last visit was extremely slow, I had almost 2 hours to spend before I had somewhere to be and thought wings and a drink with a friend before would be great. It wasn’t busy at all so I figured we’d be fine. Well after 15 minutes of waiting for a waiter/waitress I went up to the bar to get our drinks ordered. After that our waiter came and took my food order (wings). 40 minutes from walking in we got or first round of wings and we’re all ready watching the clock so ordered a 2nd drink and another round of wings. It took so long when they came that we asked for them to go and finished our drinks. 2 hours for a beer and wings and still had to walk up to the till to get the bill. Wings are worth it but terrible parking and service beyond slow means I probably would not go back.

Bluff Street Bar & Billiards – Menu with Prices – 2690 28th St Ste E, Boulder

This place is improved since new owners took over a while back. It’s a good place to play pool, and the draft beer selection is good (suits me, at least!). However, I’ve been a little disappointed in the food options because I don’t eat meat. Previously, the menu offered a grilled cheese sandwich as well as a house salad. At least there were a couple options for a meal without meat. With the new menu, the only options for a vegetarian dinner are grilled romaine salad (it’s unique, but also rich, so you might not want to order it that often), or a side of fries or pickles (haha). I suppose I could order the smoky mac n cheese without the bacon or the chopped grilled chicken salad without the chicken. But then I’m paying for meat that I don’t eat. It seems like the menu has been made more gourmet with the transition to new ownership over the last year, which is a good thing. But I politely request that the owners and chef consider bringing back the regular house salad without meat and the grilled cheese sandwich, and perhaps adding a veggie version of the tacos, and a non-meat healthy appetizer like a hummus plate. Those are just some ideas. Believe me, I’m not the only person who wants non-meat options!

Hunter-Gatherer Brewery/Taproom – Menu with Prices – 1402 Jim Hamilton Blvd, Columbia

Went here for the first time Friday night with another couple. Got there about 6:15PM and asked the woman working behind the bar how things worked..she said just take a seat anywhere, you order at the bar and they’ll bring the food out. We took a seat at a large booth and then ordered back at the bar. Menu is mainly pizzas, salads, and several appetizers (hummus with crostini, pretzel with mustard, spicy whole grain mustard and their homemade beer cheese dip, some tortilla chips with dips, meat and cheese trays…good selections). My wife and I ordered the pretzel and the hangar salad along with the 11 inch pepperoni pizza. Our friends ordered the hummus, 11 inch margarita pizza and the pretzel. My wife ordered a chardonnay and I tried a flight of four beers….Kubaba (Pomegranite), Hazy IPA, another IPA, and a pale ale. The pretzel was very good except they serve you the dipping sauces in very small metal cups. Our friends asked for another cup of the beer cheese (which is the best). We would’ve liked to have had another cup of the beer cheese but didn’t ask. They really should serve a little more of the beer cheese, but I guess rather than wasting it they can give it to you if you ask. Our friends thought the spicy dijon was way too spicy. My wife and I liked it. The regular mustard was just a plain yellow mustard. The hummus was very good, sort of had a refreshing lemon taste. The crustini was toasted a bit too crisp, but was good. We like our crostini crispy, but not as dark as their crostini was. Our friend was worried about it chipping a tooth! Our pizza was great. The waitress at the bar recommended the pizza, along with another couple ordering at the bar. Great crust, crisp, and the pepperoni was excellent tasting. I’d order it again. I definitely did not like the hazy IPA. The kebab was refreshing. I was hesitant to order a pomegranate beer, but on a hot summer day I did find it refreshing. I guess my favorite was the pale ale, but I’m to a beer specialist anymore since moving away from Wisconsin! The Hangar salad was good, fresh, with ricotta cheese and a oil/vinegar type dressing. Menu said parmesan crusted croutons but they just looked like regular store bought croutons to me…nothing special. Atmosphere is good, quite unique since you’re in a microbrewery. Seating outside and also seating on the roof with live music scheduled for Saturday. I’d go back for the pizza.

Priceless Too – Menu with Prices – 3029 N Alma School Rd #102, Chandler

If you want weak drinks & bad food this is the place to come! The wife and I wandered in this place as it is close to the house. We got a few drinks (very weak) also we hadn’t eaten in a while so we asked for a menu. We should have known when the bartender looked uncomfortable & were told we have two options. Seriously, not handed a menu. Should have been an omen to go elsewhere. Wings or pizza. Those were the verbal options given to us. Sure, put in an order of mild wings. This was the bullet in a game of Russian Roulette you DON’T want to get. I have eaten in foreign countries that are still engulfed in civil war, and their food was better. Our basket of sadness came out with a side of what looked, and resembled jizz. They called it blue cheese. I think it was dick cheese. Or jizz from someone with dick cheese. You get the point. My wife takes a bite of a wing and gives the look, and slogan of “I’m done” I take a bite and commend her braveness for even swallowing the first bite. I give a good college effort to finish the basket of wings. My wife mentioned that on her trip to the bathroom she saw the bartender pull out a bag of frozen wings from some back room & look at the instructions quizzically before shrugging & setting them on the counter for awhile. I asked about the pizza and how big it is. I am told it is the size of a tombstone. Yeah, pass. The only tombstone needed is the one on top of your grave after eating that horrible basket of wings. A bit of honesty, my wife had a few before we came in. After two drinks from this place, she was sober. That is saying something.

La Taza Coffee & More – Menu with Prices – 3915 A1A S #103, St. Augustine

My wife and I tried La Taza for the first time today. As soon as you walk in you can’t help but notice how beautifully and tastefully decorated this cafe is. We started off by sharing a beef empanada as an appetizer. They make these in house and after taking one bite I knew I was in heaven. The dough was nice and flaky and the meat inside was perfectly seasoned. There was also a creamy cilantro sauce to dip the empanada in that was absolutely amazing. For lunch we ordered a chicken salad sandwich and a turkey Brie sandwich and decided to each have half of both. The chicken salad sandwich was full of freshly cooked chunks of chicken breast with pieces of apples, walnuts, raisins, basil and mayo on French bread. The turkey sandwich included Brie cheese, apple slices, mustard and fig jam. The sandwiches were nice sized and included tortilla chips on the side. Both sandwiches were A+ in taste and appearance but the two of us agreed that we liked the chicken salad one better. Before leaving my wife had a cortadito coffee and we split a cream cheese Cuban pastry for dessert. Again these were top notch, with the pastry made in house. Lastly I want to commend the owner, Alberto, for his service and friendliness. From the minute we arrived until the minute that we left he made us feel very welcome and comfortable. We look forward to returning many times again in the future.
