Boise airport is a challenging airport for me to find something to eat. All this time, I thought this was just a bar at the airport and to my surprise it is similar to the restaurant downtown. Keep in mind this rating is relative to what other options are at the airport. The service was just ok. I asked for crackers with my In all fairness, I did sit away from the center of the eating area because the music was too loud for me in that atmosphere. Personally, I long for a quiet place when I am traveling because airports, by nature are noisy places, but that is just me. I had the panzanella bruschetta salad. The ” grilled toast” would better be described as croutons; big croutons. Sadly, these were cold and soggy; not crispy, as though they made the toast yesterday and held over. Normally, this would hit their rating , but heck, I was at the airport and compared to the other offerings this is a pretty decent place to eat. Everything else in the salad was passable. I have nothing negative to say; no accolades, but pretty much what I expected. I did ask for crackers with my salad (since the grilled toast was not especially appetizing ) and the server finally did show up with the crackers with my check, AFTER I finished my salad. The timing could have been a little better ? but like I said, I was pretty far from the center of the restaurant and when the staff goes to the kitchen they are gone for quite a bit. Of the choices at the airpot , this one might was much less disappointing then some .

Rock & Brews Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 2900 E Airport Dr, Ontario

Airport food is one of those things that you rarely look forward to eating but is sometimes unavoidable. Like today when we find ourselves with a significant delay at Ontario airport. Rock & Brews was an okay place to grab a bite. Nothing inspiring. The food menu was filled with the overpriced standard sandwiches and burger that one expects. But if you want a beer, which my husband typically does when trapped in airports, this is a decent choice cuz the taco joint next door doesn’t appear to offer that option. He says the selection of craft beer was “good for an airport”, but nothing compared to DIA (our home airport). Re: food…. The Asian salad looked like an decent option but at $14 I didn’t end up ordering that. Instead my husband and I split a BBQ pizza and the Rocking House salad. The BBQ pizza wasn’t incredible or special but it also wasn’t inedible. The bbq sauce was heaviest toward the crust where it showed and very light under the thick layer of cheese. The chicken was unevenly tossed on top and the cilantro was placed with an extremely “light touch”. The Rocking House salad was basically iceberg lettuce with some croutons, minuscule chopped cucumbers, tomatoes, shredded carrot and avocado placed on top. It offered some veggies which is nice, but remained bland overall. I left most of it for my husband to eat. He enjoyed it more than I did. (And I was glad I hadn’t ordered the Asian Salad since I’m guessing it would have been similarly “meh.”) Our server was nice and checked in frequently; no issues there. The place was clean and allows some people watching if you grab a spot at the counter. Will I remember this meal? No. Best thing you can do when traveling is BYOF (bring your own food). But if you couldn’t and find yourself stuck at Ontario near gates 405-407, you’ll survive a meal here and may even be satisfied.

Garden State Cafeteria – Menu with Prices – Terminal Access Rd, Newark

Ordered the Cajun Grilled Chicken Platter when I was waiting on a long connection at Terminal C for my international flight. It costs $17.95 and is one of the Diners Dinner Specials listed on their menu. This place is one of the few or maybe the only one that has the wait staff take your order as compared to the automated tablet experience in most or almost all of the other restaurants in Newark airport (the OTG experience). So there’s a personal touch to your dining experience unless the wait staff who attends to you isn’t pleasantly behaving. The ambience itself was typical diner-ish with bright red and white colors around…open style kitchen and no doors, so you can sit and eat while watching the passers by walk around. The food takes the crown here – I went in with not much expectations considering it’s airport food but the quality surprised me. Two tender, perfectly cooked, juicy chicken breasts grilled fresh and rubbed in the cajun seasoning (not red but that dark seasoning color you get on grilling the meat), not too spicy but just the right amount of heat which bursts with the juiciness of the chicken and the grill flavors all working their magic together….Yumm…my server did tell me beforehand that they were out of mashed potatoes already (and it is a dinner at 4:30 pm ordering a diner dinner special from their menu), so that’s a surprise and they should work on that since it is an airport restaurant and expected to cater to people arriving anytime. Not that I was looking forward to having mashed potatoes, but I was okay with my sides of french fries and steamed mixed vegetables. Fries were decent and smaller portioned as compared to majority of the diners in the country, but it is not a deal breaker for me. For some people, they may get disappointed with the portion of their fries. But the chicken portion makes up for it with two large breasts – so juicy, tender, perfectly cooked. The vegetables I got were the green beans and carrots (thinly sliced). They were okay…a particular bunch of the green beans still had their steams on..and I am picky about it…so that’s another reason for not having a 5 star rating in addition to the mashed potatoes one. Suggestion: Keep up the quality of the food, service is decent, people will make this a popular option for an airport restaurant. But don’t run of your sides please…being in an international airport it doesn’t sounds well considering you are open for 17 hours a day & should expect people to stop by for dining at any of these hours.

Leo’s Deli & Sandwich Shop – Menu with Prices – 1153 Forest Ave, Staten Island

I’m usually very happy with everything I get from here…until today. I order a grilled chicken Caesar salad frequently, but when I saw what they gave me I was greatly disappointed. It was a very little amount!! When I asked why, the cashier said it was because they are not serving romaine lettuce. I get it, we are in a romaine lettuce crisis. Thanks for looking out in regards to that. However, the size of this one was just shocking, the grilled chicken was hard and crunchy, and who knew broken pretzel pieces were the equivalent of croutons?! I could go to a place farther up Forest Ave and get more bang for my buck (and I paid 9.00 and change for this thing) So, that is what I will be doing moving forward.

Lovelys in the city – Menu with Prices – 1622 NW 62nd St, Miami

A gem in the community!! Be still my beating heart. How long have I waited for healthy eating options in the neighborhood? Finally! Lovely’s in the City has taken up residence at the busy thoroughfare of 62nd Street and 17th Avenue. In the City! The restaurant occupies a long abandoned building. The owners have spent a sizable amount of energy making the inside and outside of the restaurant appealing, with bright colors. The inside has a few quaint tables where you can sit and enjoy your meal. It is meticulously clean. The menu choices contain the usual wings and fries. There is also the signature Lobster Burger. But the real attraction for me are the healthier options. There’s brown rice, wraps, grilled seafood and chicken, wraps, smoothies and salads. I chose the Grilled Chicken – Signature Salad. It was a lovely grilled chicken breast on a bed of fresh lettuce. Banana peppers, croutons, cheese, olives, an egg and tomato topped it off. While they have a variety of salad dressings, I opted for their special house dressing. It was a delicious balsamic based creamy dressing. I’m in love! I’ll be back!

Robertson’s Sandwich Shop – Menu with Prices – 2712 Bragg Blvd, Fayetteville

It’s hard to impress me with a chicken salad sandwich on toast but something about this place did it. It’s a throwback to the little mom and pop sandwich shops I grew up on down east. Simple, efficient, cash only, soda in a can, and a small bag of Wise Potato Chips. I really appreciated the way the cook buttered and grilled the toast on the grill before loading my chicken salad in there. l appreciate that version over the dry out of the toaster version you get at some places. Sure it comes with more calories and greasy fingers but I’m not here for Kale and Spinach wraps am I? Please don’t change Robertson’s and you’ll keep this cash only woman coming routinely.

Jimbo’s Hamburger Place – Menu with Prices – 690 Melrose Ave, The Bronx

Let me start with the food is good/passable but the reason I gave a 1-star rating is for the simple fact that the the the waitress here display the worst customer service. Always has an attitude & takes more than 7mins to come to the table to hand us the menus. I might sound like I’m targeting the waitress (by the way they only have one waitress) but every time I come to this jumbo ( this is my 5x) she always gives me bad customer service. Shame on me for coming here 5x but I hope this restaurant gets to read this and speak to her.

Croutons East Menu with Prices 564 NE Greenwood Ave, Bend

I love Croutons! They have the best food, great clean atmosphere and the staff is always very friendly. I drop by several nights a week after work and they prepare my food quickly. My favorite salad is the BBQ Chicken. The Choose Two is also great. Recently they have served a new soup I believe is called Super Chicken and it’s amazing! It’s broth based with kale, chicken breast, and lots of other healthy ingredients. If you’re visiting Bend, you should give Croutons a try. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

The Ravens Club Menu with Prices 207 S Main St, Ann Arbor

We were looking for a good place to go before a show at the Ark, and The Ravens Club came highly recommended. We heard a lot about the cocktails, so we had to try that as well. I got a cocktail called the Grass Skirt. It’s a vodka based drink with orange juice and a couple of other liquors that made the drink taste a little like grass. A little strange but was still pretty drinkable. However, I don’t foresee ordering that again next time. My husband and I shared a Whitefish spread and it was amazing. There was definitely more fish than cream cheese. They go very well with their toast points and the crackers provided. We thought there wouldn’t be enough for all the toast/crackers provided, but there was plenty. I got the Scottish Salmon with the coconut basmati rice and mango salsa and sauce. It’s a great combination of American, Asian, and Mexican cuisine. The salmon filet was done perfectly and it has a nice crust on the outside and tender on the inside. I was a little sad it wasn’t as busy as it should be in the 6pm hour, even though it’s a weekday, but I’m sure it’s very lively on Fridays and Saturdays. We hope to be back for sure.

Mijo’s Diner – Menu with Prices – 5131 N Grand River Ave # 4, Lansing

We passed by here and thought we should come back and eat. So here we r! Waitress was awesome. Had their homemade raisin cinnamon toast… to die for! I had the corned beef hash n eggs. Love their potatoes! Pre cooked and browned on the grill yummy. Bf had a ham n cheese and added bacon and pineapple. Wow that was really good too. Coffee never empty either. Looks like we will be back. Well haha came back the next day. We r here till Sunday and this is a good place with reasonable prices. I had coffee and that damn toast again…I’m addicted !! We decided to have lunch today since they r only open till 2. I had Taco salad which was really tasty. I couldn’t eat it all but Bf helped me. He had the chef salad which was good as well. I asked for some ranch with Taco salad and it was homemade. I used one container and we were gonna take the other with and forgot wah wah.. lol! Will be back sat or sun we think one more time Okay! Back several weeks later May31. Back early again for Sunday load out. Staying at the J and got a car from the airport awesome. It’s Friday and not so busy. Waitress is cute and listens well. I’m getting the #5 today with that awesome toast. The booths sit good too although we got a table up against a window looking out. Our food came pretty quickly. My toast is spread with love and butter… yes tastes like sweet cream butter. Does not need jam. And my ham was a whole slice! Wow! Everything is always good when we come in here. And the potato’s super crunchy on the bits. Had a little help from the boy.. natch. He had a Chicken Greek salad. His chicken was fresh grilled and warm. The dressing had feta already in it. He loves the dressing. Sooo again we r rolling outta here. Baaaaack on sat June 1! Breakfast is a staple for us like this place! Sat over in the corner in a booth this time. Our waitress knew what we wanted to drink?! Wha???? Have we been here THAT much?? Lol. She has a good memory. She actually seemed sad when we told her we don’t live here. ( but if we did I wouldn’t fit in this booth which is tight right now!) haha. I changed it up a bit today and had a Western omelet wow. It literally hot to the last bite like Ive said before. It had everything in it perfectly cooked even the cheese what oooozingly melted when u cut into it!!! Oh my.. and the raisin cinnamon toast.. nuff said. Bf as usual eating his chef salad with Greek dressing. He LOVES that salad. We came in a bit earlier today 8:45am and found one booth left plus the big table. We took the booth. We also found out our servers name is Tara! She is our girl! Today we opted for two Greek omelets with raisin toast and sides of Taziki. Can’t wait. The omelets are huge!! We could have split one this time. I had to take half of mine with for him to eat later. But… I DID eat all my cinnamon raisin toast… every day. That’s is not an option. We will sorely miss this place. Tiny even came out and thanked me for the review the other day. He said his phone chimed and he read it and knew it was us! Too funny but very nice. When we don’t have a car we can always fit our Bobtail in The parking lot. Till next time Chaos!

Vinaigrette Salad Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 3735 Palomar Centre Dr Suite 180, Lexington

I went to Vinaigrette Salad Kitchen today during lunch. Had heard a lot about their salads. The 2 ladies there were super fast and sweet! Really appreciated their customer service. So I ordered a classic chicken salad with apples n strawberries in a pocket… yes, a picket. So they call hollowed our bread as pockets. Not to be mistaken with pita pockets. They also warm/toast the bread. I think I should’ve had the salad as is because in the bread, it became dry n soggy n also just tasted weird to have strawberries in bread. Also ordered their tomato soup. The color looks better in my photo as I used a filter . The taste was ok, nothing to write home about. Would I try it again? Maybe… if I was craving some tomato soup and Panera was not ah option. They did give croutons with the soup .. and then I realized that they charged for the add on. Hmmm Also tried their lemonade and mango juice.. not recommended. Strange aftertaste and too sharp a taste. Their cookie was nice n chewy though. Yes, i went the whole nine yards

The Pub Restaurant at OTOW – Menu with Prices – 9125 SW 98th St, Ocala

Went to the Pub for breakfast while visiting family. It is a smaller restaurant in the center with a pool. The dining area is smaller and every time I have been has been pretty full. This place does take a while so be prepared to wait. I ordered the egg sandwich with sausage and it’s average. The last time I went they didn’t toast my bread enough so I make a point to ask if they can toast it fully. This past time they skimped on the home fries so that was a little disappointing.

Press 626 Wine Bar – Menu with Prices – 626 W Olney Rd, Norfolk

Love this spot for their “Award winning grilled cheese” sandwiches! There are four different melted cheese on their grilled cheese that make it one of the ooest gooest cheese sandwiches in the 757 and if you get the salad that comes with it it is so fresh with a dressing I believe they make in house… but wait… there’s another grilled cheese restaurant that’s only 1 short mile from Press competing for the best grilled cheese sandwich -the Grilled Cheese Bistro which features “The Gooey” with three different melted cheese and their Parmesan fries-heavenly.. so let’s compare notes: they both come on buttered grilled bread except it is sourdough at Press and a version of a thick Texas toast at Grilled cheese bistro- this is a tie because they both compliment the sandwich respectively, next the cheeses- although one location has four cheeses and the other has three both offering additions to the sandwich (i.e bacon, tomatoes) the cheeses stand firm on their own so there’s no need to for additions unless you prefer. The cheese on both is melted together so good it’s spilling off the bread that I can’t choose which is best-tie there. The price at Press is $10 which is the exact same price at the grilled cheese bistro (I think they’re trying to set us up people)….LOL So it boils down to this- Press is not a grilled cheese bistro But their grilled cheese tastes mighty award winning to me! Their Atmosphere takes the cake and I don’t know if I mentioned it but their wine list-oh boy, it is Great! The restaurant is set up in a quaint corner house with intimate romantic seating in their bay windows, the lighting is soft and dim making it perfect for a date night, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. You feel like you can get comfy and stay all night sipping the various wine options and rubbing your full belly (until 11pm most nights:) Highly recommend!
