This is a pretty good place to hang out, drink some well brewed beer, have a good chat with a friend, enjoy the open air restaurant and patio, use the bathroom, and maybe get a bite to eat. The staff is cute and young and the decor “totes modern and stuff” but 10 Barrell falls a little flat on taste and cooking times. Ordered the Plain Jane regular crust pizza and the Prosciutto Pear Gluten free pizza. Both pizzas were over cooked. The gluten free crust is worse than eating a microwave Totino’s, much akin to a year old stale saltine cracker. The Prosciutto was ok but lacked that salty briney taste that is supposed to pair well with pears, but doesn’t when the pears are mushy and overcooked. There was plenty of goat cheese and basil but it just wasn’t enough to tie all the flavors together or make the pizza taste good. The Plain Jane was just a little too plain. My 14 year old said it would have been better to just get the Pizza! Pizza! from up the street. 10 Barrell I suggest you stick to what you know best and let the professionals handle the tastier side of cuisine.

Coastal Crust – Menu with Prices – 1254 Pendleton St, Greenville

MIXED EMOTIONS I know my rating doesn’t reflect it but I was pretty BUMMED after opening the box for my to-go order. I purchased a gluten-free prosciutto and fig pizza. The menu does not list an upcharge nor did the bartender that rang me up inform me that there would be one. The upcharge for gluten-free is $3.00 bringing the total for my pizza up to 19 dollars. All is still good and well in the world. The more shocking part was when I opened the box to find the smallest most saddest little pizza 19 bucks could buy. Im attaching a picture for reference. The to go boxes are pretty standard restaurant size and this thing looks so teeny tiny in there. I ended up having to cook myself a second dinner when I got home because I wasnt even close to full. I don’t know if this is always the case for gluten-free or if i just got super jipped this time around. I really hope it’s not always that small. BUT I really think if youre gonna charge an extra 3 bucks for gluten free maybe try to make the pie big enough to be a meal and make it more worth it. Also just be transparent and add the upcharge to your menu or inform your guests before they pay. Now as to why I’m still giving this place 4 stars. The pizza was just insanely delicious. It was one of the best ive had and definitely the best I’ve had in the area. The fig and prosciutto was so flavorful and the crust and everything was perfect. I also don’t want to discourage anyone from trying this place by giving a low rating. Maybe you’re experience will be different. Unfortunately I’m really disappointed with the size and the price of what I ordered and I wish that weren’t the case because I want to want to eat here again. Just pretty unlikely I will with my how my first experience was here

MidiCi The Neapolitan Pizza Company – Menu with Prices – 3401 Dale Rd, Modesto

If I could leave zero stars I would. I have a severe gluten allergy and celiac disease. This restaurant offers “gluten free” items but contaminate your food at every possible chance. I came in since it says they have GLUTEN FREE options. They have signs like normal restaurants stating there is a chance for cross contamination. Which is normal. But they used the same gloves, same pizza trays, and cooked it on a flour DRENCHED stone oven. When I asked about it they laughed as if it was a joke, did not offer my $20 back and I sat starving as the rest of my group ate while I watched. If you are going to offer gluten free, maybe actually offer gluten free. Advertising saying “gluten free crust” but drenching it in gluten doesn’t do any good. 7/6/2019 @6:20pm. And I won’t be coming back. UPDATE: the owner Nick has replied and yes we did get a refund and an apology which I appreciated. My main concern for others is that an allergy is an allergy. Once that gluten free pizza touches the stone with flour on it, it is no longer gluten free. I understand many people don’t know that, but that is why people like me end up extremely sick. Maybe put a note on the door that instead of saying “possibility of cross contamination” it should say “our gluten free products are no longer gluten free once cooked in our stone oven” It is just for safety. I understand you try your best, but “your best” can get someone hospitalized. Just as if someone was allergic to shellfish and you cook their steak on a grill that just had shellfish on it…..well now they will be in the hospital. you are trying your best, but your best isn’t even close for someone with an allergy. So in other words, if you have an allergy, don’t eat here, if you are using gluten free as a diet or to lose weight, go for it.

Pizza Studio Anchorage Menu with Prices 1254 Muldoon Rd, Anchorage

I tried Pizza Studio today after hearing about their gluten free crust on Yelp. The pictures looked decent, though they didn’t exactly match the size/depth of toppings we received in real life. Pizza Studio is in the parking lot of Fred Meyer on DeBarr and Muldoon. The location is more spacious than I expected, with modern “semi fast” food decor (think: SmashBurger but Pizza). This place won’t be getting any rewards for customer service. We came in between 8 and 9 pm, well before closing time. There were only 2 other customers in the building together. The place had no less than three employees yet the store was dirty; tables and chairs were not wiped down and condiments/straws were all over the floor. It is obvious the employees do not take pride in their work. The girl who made our pizza was extremely rude and seemed inconvenienced at the prospect of having to do her incredibly easy job. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but rolling your eyes at a customer because you don’t feel like getting another spoon for tomato sauce (she threw it in the sink after spooning barely enough to cover the a sheer layer over the dough), is unacceptable. She did not greet us, apparently could not find the words to ask us what we wanted (she stood there and stared at us instead of asking us what we wanted to order), and acted annoyed any time we told her what toppings we wanted, or if we wanted less/more of something. I asked her for a side of pizza sauce, which she didn’t bother getting, so I had to ask the cashier man who gave me some in a plastic beverage cup, which was definitely an odd choice. If I could lower my rating to 2 stars based on the service alone, I would. However, the food was moderately good and I don’t want to lower the rating based on a few employees who clearly hate their jobs. The pizza tasted decent, especially for gluten free. It’s an extremely thin crust, that browns like a cracker. I believe a shorter bake might benefit the gluten free crusts, as it ended up having a crunchy, hard cracker-like crust burnt around the edges. While i didn’t mind it, my roommate wasn’t a fan of the burnt edges. Most people would not be pleased. The sauce and toppings were all delicious. My roommate got the truffle mushroom pizza. It’s the first time I have ever liked a white sauce pizza! I would love to try more of the pizzas and combinations you can make there. As someone with celiac, it was nice being able to get a pizza for under $15 that didn’t taste like those bland gluten free/vegan/dairy free pizzas you get at the store. It was nice being able to eat something quick, and it’s cooked in just 2 minutes. They serve pepsi products and I believe some beers. Also, the toppings are plentiful and the truffle mushrooms actually tasted like truffle. My pepperoni pizza was good but definitely would’ve benefit from extra pepperoni. I would definitely order pizza to go from there so you don’t have to experience such poor customer service in real life. For such an unassuming place in a not-so-great part of town, this pizza is fairly good and at a good price. If you have celiac disease, please check with the staff about cross contamination. I took glutenase pills in case my food was cross contaminated with gluten.

Zpizza Tap Room Menu with Prices 1082 SW Yates Dr #110, Bend

I’ll admit, this was a surprise. I hadn’t heard much about ZPizza but our friends said they liked it. So, we stopped in on our way home from the mountain and it’s AWESOME! I rarely eat pizza because I’m gluten free and many of the crusts just don’t inspire me. However, they offered 2 types of gf crust (one of them is vegan) and I chose the cauliflower parmesan cheese version. And, I don’t eat meat but always love a veggie pizza. What?? They have Beyond Meat vegan sausage? Oh my! Had to give it a try and I think I just had the best gluten free pizza in Bend. My hubs is a free-form eater and loves meat and loves gluten and also considers himself a pizza expert. He admitted that the pizza at ZPizza might be the best he’s had in Bend also! The staff was very friendly and very helpful (I had a bazillion questions about everything). They guided me through the gf veggie options and even made suggestions. Love this place! We’ll definitely be going back. Looking forward to hanging on their patio in the summer, too. It’s the perfect stop after a great day of play in Bend.

BackDraft Pizzeria Menu with Prices 3595 Ranch Rd 620 S, Austin

These people are extraordinary and so is their pizza! We had the gluten free crust made into “Shrooms to the Moon”. It was out of this world!! The ingredients are top shelf. Very easily the best pizza we have ever eaten!!! The owners love to please and they are so accommodating! This cute food truck is at a location in Lakeway on Hwy 620 that is so convenient to pop in and pick up a “to go” order. We promise it will not be your last time to stop by once you try their incredible pizza!! You can definitely taste the love!!!!

Franchesco’s Ristorante – Menu with Prices – 7128 Spring Creek Rd, Rockford

First time in a long time since I’ve had their pizza. This one was purchased on National Cheese Pizza Day (as well as opening night of the NFL season, featuring a “Bears/Packers” game), when they offered a $5 special, which made the wait time a fairly long (and understandable) 45 minutes for a carryout. I used to eat here often for their lunch special (long gone now, sadly, as they decided to focus on a location at Anderson Gardens instead of here) and occasionally are here (there) at their older location on South Perryville Road (before Walgreens made them “an offer they couldn’t refuse” for their land outside of Cherryvale Mall, which allowed them to build an -awesome- new venue at their present Spring Creek location, which has a kick-ass Fauld pizza oven with -6- rotating decks, unlike the four decks at most other local places having these awesome pizza ovens). This specific pizza tonight is similar in flavor to the typical pizza (on special for ~$15 with a salad for 2 and a 2-liter of Pepsi products) at Lino’s, only somewhat dryer/less buttery, which brings out the saltine/water-cracker-esque flavor of the Francesco’s crust. To be honest, this -specific- pizza tonight would be an awesome (4-5+ star) “St. Louis style” if their sauce was sweeter (it’s spicy, and tasty, and is not sweet) and if one was able to order “a St. Louis with a double crust” from a place normally serving a St. Louis styled (i.e. cracker-thin crust) pizza, if you need something else with which to compare it. The crust also sadly split into two parts during cooking, like how a pita loaf usually is. I’m not really a fan of St. Louis pizzas too often, though, preferring the crust to stay together when ordering that style of pizza (and preferring a less-sweet sauce than what people in St. Louis seem to crave). The former lunch special here had a thicker crust, which is truly more flattering to their spicy sauce than tonight’s pizza is. To be clear, the Lino’s crust with which I’m comparing tonight’s pizza usually does not “pita split” like this one did (and some other Rockford pizza places also do this “pita split” with their crust, sometimes to very good effect like at John’s on 11th or Capri’s downtown). I realize they might have decided to cut some corners due to the massive volume of (probably “cheap $5” cheese pizza special) orders tonight, so I don’t know if this is a “new typical pizza” for them. I’d almost prefer either a thicker crust version of this (as I’ve had in the past from here when ordering a “regular” pizza) or a sweeter sauce if this is a new normal (but not both). As for being a “Rockford” pizza that former locals seem to sorely miss when moving away, this one was not the best example this evening, but it also is not a bad pizza, esp. for $5 in the present restaurant market. I don’t know if I’d feel comfortable paying much more for it, though (esp. with the fierce local pizza competition which still exists today) therefore I hope this one was merely a “fluke” for the special, otherwise I’d probably opt for Little Caesar’s and their $5 “hot and ready” (presently also including a free 2 liter of Pepsi products and a topping for the same price, and much faster) over this specific one, and Little Caesar’s certainly is -not- the best pizza available in Rockford (but certainly is passable when you figure “$5”). I know Francesco’s can do better than this, as I’ve had it before-I hope tonight was just a fluke.

Al Quadrato Resto and Pizza – Menu with Prices – 324 Somerset St W, Ottawa

We came here during lunch on a weekday. The restaurant/cafe is located in centretown. It has euro-cafe vibes which I like. They serve beer, wine, coffee. I had the prosciutto pizza with anchovies. I have to say the pizza was delicious. We shared one pizza between two people and it was enough for lunch. I could probably eat most of it myself for dinner though. The pizza was light yet still satisfying. I really liked the crust. The service was very friendly, and warm. It was also pretty fast! The pizza was made right in front of us which is cool. The cafe is a bit small but I think they have a patio in the summer (they did last year anyway). Overall I will be retuning here because it’s good vibes and good food.

Harmony Bakery Menu with Prices 3446 Chestnut Ave, Baltimore

Let’s start out by saying that I love meat and do not have any food intolerance or dietary restrictions that force me to eat gluten free. I just got back from spending a year in Afghanistan, and just found out about my friend’s severe gluten allergy, which breathing issues. She’s basically been trapped at home to eat because most restaurants that serve GF foods don’t understand Cross contamination. She’s terrified at the thought of eating out and winding up in the ER. So I brought my friend here, and as advertised 100% gluten free!!! I’m eating gluten free as well when with her because cross contamination with even a hug is problematic. We split a pizza, spinach tart, and quinoa sweet potato salad. The pizza was awesome, and the crust was crunchy crispy with a very thick delicious tomato sauce. The spinach tart was amazing, cheesey cashew cheese. I already love quinoa, and this salad with it’s citrus dressing was delish!!! For dessert we split a slice of carrot cake and slice of tea cake with lemon frosting, both tasted great. For me the texture was off, but my friend who hasn’t had cake in almost 2 years was overwhelmed with joy!!! I did love the sample chocolate chip cookie they brought over for us to try…OMG so delightful!!! I’m hyped and can’t wait to bring my wife here, but more importantly my friend’s world has expanded. She even bought 2 pizzas to go and a bunch of different deserts to try. I love meat and I was not disappointed that I couldn’t get any here. In fact I will be back, the food was that delicious. Kudos on the pizza crust, great texture and crispiness.

Pizza Shuttle – Menu with Prices – 12094 W 135th St, Overland Park

WOW! I had no idea what to expect, but dang! It blew my expectations out of the water! It looked so good I forgot to take pictures before I dug in and destroyed it! We walked in and it reeked of the “drunken college pizza shop” vibes. We almost walked out because we weren’t in the mood for mediocre pizza, but decided to stick around and give it a shot. I ordered the chicken bacon ranch pizza with the cream cheese sauce (+gluten free crust, not bad). Usually I’m not one for chicken on pizza and I have a very strong hatred for ranch (sorry, couldn’t tell you why) but the kid taking my order talked me into it. BOY he knew what he was talking about. Delicious. The type of pizza that I’ll think about constantly. We also got the cheeseburger pizza, the crust on that thing was delectable. I can’t think of any other word that would fit it better. I was suspicious of mustard on pizza but now I wouldn’t want it any other way! I couldn’t get enough. Honestly. If I could, I’d eat 12 of those pizzas in a row. Maybe more. I hope this place lasts a good while. I’ll give them all of my money I’m sure!!

Number 12 Cider – Menu with Prices – 614 N 5th St, Minneapolis

This was my second visit here and I must say I came out liking the ciders a lot more than the first. I took my friend who is completely gluten free so it was the perfect place for us to meet up. We both enjoyed the ciders and then got a pizza from the truck outside. I had heard amazing things about this pizza from others and not only was it gluten free which I was hesitant on but it was GREAT. We got the margarita pizza and it was gluten free, it came out quick, fresh, warm, and very tasteful. The cider I had (can’t remember the name) was a lot better tasting than my first visit. I’m not a huge cider person (reasoning for the 4 stars and not 5) but this is a great stop to add on your list when hopping around the north loop. Would be a great first spot since they have a few drinks that are similar to a mimosa as well! Happy to see this place doing well – it is so adorable inside, makes me want to hang out there all day!

Ocean Park Pizza – Menu with Prices – 2727 Ocean Park Blvd, Santa Monica

Is it true NYC Style Pizza: No…but heck I’m not in NYC anymore. Is it Good Pizza: Hell yeah. After many months of eating bad pizza here in the greater Los Angeles area, I think I have found a good pizza place. So much bad pizza in fact that they weren’t even worth Yelping about. So many places claiming NYC and Chicago Style Pizza…and none of them actually coming through on their promise…How about since you’re not located in either of those cities just claim good pizza (just a suggestion), because when you have lived in either of those cities you know what those pizzas are supposed to taste like (raised in Chicago and lived in NYC long enough to know what NYC pizza is supposed to taste like). I digress… The 14 inch pizza had a nice crisp crust…fresh toppings (well except for the jalapeños they were from a jar)…the crust was not too doughy (even though next time I will order with a thinner crust)…it was a hair thick for my taste. The sauce had a nice little zip. I also ordered some fried chicken…As a vegetarian I allow myself 2X a year where I will eat fried chicken (it is the one thing I had an issue giving up from being a carnivore). This was really good chicken I hate chicken breast, like a lot…I think it is dry and pretty tasteless but the very nice gentleman in the shop said “do me a favour and try these out, I know that fried chicken breasts are usually dry and have no flavour but these will surprise you”. Uhm yes wise pizza/chicken guy…they did surprise me…like a lot. This fried chicken is broasted…which makes it crisper, moister and super tender and supposedly a bit healthier. Regardless it was delicious and FRESH. The potato wedge thingy’s OMG…I could just eat an order of those…so tasty and not french fries…not just potato slices but heaven in a little paper bag. Did I mention the guy that was in the shop…may have been one of the owners was super dooper nice. And he of course was the chicken whisperer. The prices are completely fair for what you get…I will have some delicious leftovers for days!! YUM! Also the store front that I picked up from was not Ocean Park Pizza but it is inside Bud’s Deli…I was a little confused at first…It is in a little strip mall-There is a little parking lot so it is, easy in and out if you are just going to pick up a pizza. There spot also has a few tables and chairs inside in case you can’t wait to get your pizza home and eat it…fortunately for me I live less than a 5 minute drive away…I will be back very very very soon!!! Come here to get yummy eats and really super nice service. Thanks Pizza/Chicken Whisperer Guy!!!

College Street Café – Menu with Prices – 1622 W College St, Springfield

This place gets 5 stars for what it isn’t. It isn’t some fancy dancy place that uses exotic ingredients. No, this place is plain Jane. Plain Jane can be good, especially when all you want is some home cooking away from home. Sure, we all have our opinions on what constitutes home cooking when eating out. However, this is about as authentic as you’re going to get. The other day I ordered a breakfast sandwich. Nothing extraordinary about it. Two pieces of toast, fried egg and a sausage patty put together. That was it. No flare, no hoopla and no gimmicks. I could have made it at home, but I didn’t have to. In a world where everyone has to up their food game, it’s a good feeling to just go simple.
