I’ve been having a heck of a time getting Jamie, my 8-month-old, to eat lately. This seems to happen every couple of weeks. Everything will be going smoothly, he’ll be eating up everything from cereal to spaghetti to fruit purées like it’s his day job and then, one day, he seals his lips and refuses to even taste anything I present to him. I asked the nurse for advise during Jamie’s last check-up and she recommended getting him more involved in the meal process by giving him his own spoon.
Well, this sounded great in theory but there really isn’t much he can do for himself with those long, plastic spoons I feed him with. Enter Sarianne, wise as ever, with Bambino Äta självbestick, a short spoon and fork set shaped perfectly for little hands. Jamie was able to get some cereal into his mouth with his new spoon since the length and shape allowed him to be more precise. Meanwhile, I was able to shovel food into him with my traditional plastic spoon when he was too distracted by the fun sound of metal clicking on his new teeth to notice. These are absolutely going to be a mealtime staple at our house from now on.
